I am a veteran GW1 player and I enjoy GW2.
GW2 does have some problems and there are aspects of GW1 i like over GW2, but overall I am happy with how GW2 turned out and feel comfortable in the direction it seems to be headed.

Sorry i forgot to specify I run the hammer build, very similar to the stickied post on the Guardian page. My gear is mostly Knights with Rubies upgraded in my accessories and a mixture of divinity runes and 2 Water for 15% boon duration. But I am probably going to replace that boon duration since I am using less shouts and more reflects, and its hard to maintain full hammer rotation since im dodging constantly due to the high number of PBAoE from bosses in fractals.
Do you guys think a SoA/WoR focused build, with traits focused on reduced spirit wep cd/duration and master of consecrations (reduce cd/duration) would be best for fractals 30+ ? I find that I am bringing those two skills a majority of the boss fights and they help players that don’t have high enough Agony Res for the higher levels(including myself).
I ran the AH/Shout build for fractals up to where i am at now (32), but I am finding myself less able to be in melee for a majority of the uptime if focused hence reducing my overall group contribution. Also there is less overall benefit due to the groups i find in the 30s being more range heavy (even wars/guards) so i feel like the symbol is being wasted =(
GW2 is a fun game and has a lot of strengths, and i have and still am enjoying it thoroughly. That being said, the things i miss most about GW1 are :
1) The skill system and individuality. The hundreds of skills to choose from created a playstyle unique to the player. In gw2, you are forced to use the same 5 wep skills and choose from a meagre utility pool with no flavor in the elite skills. Although there were cookie cutter builds in GW1, most notably in most HM/SC groups, most builds, whether tweaked cookie cutters or self made, were usually acceptable and unique.
If GW2 were to expand its skill system by adding a lot of options to both weapon skills, (chained and unchained) utility and elite skills to the level variety of GW1 I would be very happy. Coupled with the in-depth stat system (via items/traits) of GW2, this could create very unique and personal builds.
2) GvG and HoH. I know GvG and more guild features are in the works so I wont go into detail for that. But for me the structured tournament PvP doesn’t compare with Hall of Heroes (later known as TA). Winning the favor of the gods meant access to an elite farming or chest running area(s), so winning HoH/TA for your home region meant alot. Plus, the winning team’s guild or leader’s name was displayed globally so it truly did give you renown. Also, /rank was pretty awesome.
3) More than 5 man parties. This is being addressed though so I am looking forward to what A-net rolls out here
Guardian is more than viable in Fractals. Wall of Reflection is amazing.
As far as build goes, i run the stickied AH Hammer build by Brutaly.

Really annoying system wish it were token based. If they eere concerned about people grinding lower fractals put the vendor in 10 or above and the infused ring vendor in 20 orabove
It should be atleast offered for tokens or maybe crafted with essences.
I am on 6 dailies total as well and progressing into the 20s and it is very frustrating to progress with only 5 agony res while my party has triple that. Its BS that some people get their ring almost every daily while others are held back by RNG.
6 dailies no ring here.
Now getting into the mid 20s and have only 5 agony res from back piece, while other people have multiple rings already, getting a ring from every daily they have done so far.

This is a real bummer. 3 tries and havent gotten a ring. I wouldnt mind time and effort to get a ring, but pure RNG is just wrong. You can put forth the same or even more effort than others yet still not get the ring hence halting your progression.
I hope arena net reconsiders
Are all the quivers supposed to share the same skin?
Do all the tomes share the same skin?
I have Koss on Koss backpiece and i would love the skin shown in the item description, as it would match my character better than the current skin =)

Does the next tier (Level 10+) drop more tokens per fractal?
The “pop up chest” reward is the daily reward for completing the Jade Maw at that tier level for the day.
You say “at that tier level for the day.”
Does this mean Level 2 and Level 4 are separate? For instance, i got my daily chest (20 tokens) and regular chest (15 tokens) on Jade Level 2.
But on Jade Level 4 I got a chest but it did not have any tokens. (No tokens at all from that Jade run)
Is this intended, or a bug?
I also had a similar experience. Completed the bonus level (Jade) on Level 4 and me or any of my party members did not receive any tokens.
Has anyone tried 6? I would like to know if it is worth pushing up.
I color the metal/armor parts Icing. Celestial is too bright for me, and Icing hits the perfect balance between brightness and having a metallic look. Tabard color is up to preference, but i use Abyss.
Got some weird coloring glitch on my armor when i was swapping between sets (Between some T3 and T2 pieces). Thought it looked cool and wish I could keep the look =) Anyway thought id share

Not all servers are highly populated, or some players may not play during the server’s peak time, and in severe cases both.
@ OP, i like the “Advanced” idea but I dont see Arena net implementing something like that.
I simply would like to see better scaling, difficulty, and more consequences for failing an event. I am eagerly looking forward to Lost Shores, hope it can deliver.

The fact that you can grab 4 other random people and clear most explorables is evidence of the lack of difficulty. I would like a challenge that requires coordination and cross class synergies, while requiring awareness and optimization. You can keep the explorable system as is, but perhaps another “Hard Mode” tier would be the solution. The reward could be unique skins, titles, or even Legendary armor, all of course keeping the same stats as Exotic level gear. Also, to take away some of the grind from a Legendary, have Legendary Armor components/gifts/precursor only drop or obtained with tokens from these Hard Mode tiers rather than grinding xxxx amount of Karma and xxx gold for said precursor.
With a Hard Mode tier, you can satisfy the elite crowd and keep the casual crowd content since the only reward from Hard Mode would be prestigious, rightfully earned skins that offer no statistical advantage over other gear.
Just my 2 cents. Of course not everyone may agree, but I hope Arenanet can find the right answer for the game.
I really love the events here. Always fun, just wish there was more incentive to go here when you’re 80. But that doesn’t stop me from an occasional visit.
In general I wish there was more incentive to go to lower zones. Love the artwork put into some of the zones, and the music usually matches up so well.

I agree with most of your points OP.
In terms of timers, I would absolutely love this. But rather than timer being restrictive, eg where if you don’t complete the run in 30 minutes you don’t get reward, I would rather see it being a goal. For example, if you complete the run in 20 minutes you get extra rewards and if you complete it in 10 or 15 minutes you get another added extra reward, to add incentive to efficiency. This would really push the synergy and teamwork of the group, especially if the bosses were stupidly insanely difficult mechanically. (Please no insane HP pools + dodge circles!) You can’t go wrong with adds, imo
Another thing I would like to see hapkitten an 8 player dungeon elite zone, but the effort required to implement this would probably require it to be added in an expansion.
I wish the T3 Human Heavy Cultural helmet had the skin on the Guardian profession page on the GW2 website. I’m not a fan of the scaly part of the helmet, and wish the bottom had a more solid and fit look to it.

As a Human, i was blown away by Divinity’s Reach. Such a beautiful city, wish it had as much activity as LA
As title says, is Empowering Might (Nearby allies gain might for 5s everytime you crit) affected by bonuses from Boon Duration or Might Duration, such as Runes of the Water/Monk (15% Boon Duration) and +Might Duration boons such as Fire (20% Might Duration)
I currently have 15% Boon duration and 20% Might duration from rune bonuses. Would the new Empowering Might effect by nearby allies get might for 6.75s (5×1.35)
There should be a higher tax burden on the wealthier players. I propose a 20% tax on transactions greater than 75g, and reduce the tax of transactions under 1g to 10%.
Also tax breaks on small business and crafting should be considered. The weak state of Tyria’s crafting and working player class is affecting the entirety of Tyria.
Also who is keeping the Black Lion trading company in check? It seems like they have a disturbingly large influence on the economy, having trade monopolized.
Been reporting this and posting on Bug Report for quite a while too. It is really frustrating, especially if you like the style of the SE Light set. Have all the tokens but waiting for the fix. Hopefully it comes on Monday
If you are human, t3 cultural chest/legs are my favorite
I would do 10 in Radiance and put the extra 5 into Honor. In PvP, the dodge roll is key, and since you mentioned you are heavy damage oriented I am assuming you are maximizing Precision on your gear. Also the 50 Vitality / Healing would go a long way to survivability. Vitality because Guardians have low base HP to start with, and Healing because it scales well with meditation heal and F2 Virtue.
But this is going into more of a Balanced build I guess. If it is your preference to maximize DPS in PvP situations, 20/15/30/0/5 would probably best for you.
In PvP the stuns from Spirit hammer is too much to pass up imo, so I would go for Spirit Weapons not being destroyed on command. The damage window within a stun will far outweigh the loss in stats. Your opponent can’t dodge or activate any skills outside of a stun breaker. Also the traits in Radiance are horrible. Condition damage is near useless to Guardian, unless you do a high burning build. The actual trait slots aren’t that good as well, when you consider your other options. The only benefit is the Precision, but that could be made up in gear. The potential Trait/Trait slots you forego by going heavy Radiance isn’t worh it imo, so i wouldn’t stack Radiance too high. 5 in Virtues is heavily recommended with any build you run.
For example lets say a skill gives me (hypothetical)
Regeneration – 1000 Healing over 10 seconds.
I grab some Dwayna runes for 20% Regeneration duration. Is the new skill now :
1000 Healing over 12 seconds
-or-
1200 over 12 seconds
So does Regeneration duration simply make the effect last longer but heal for the same amount, or last longer with the same healing done per tick effectively increasing the healed amount?

I would like to see more difficult and grand events. Events that would only pop up every few days, but is ongoing for multiple hours and would have consequences impacting a large amount of players if failed. For example, a Lion’s Arch is being attacked by Risen event. Multiple events and attack avenues, ridden with multiple Champions and maybe even throw in a Dragon.
I would like to see events where atleast a bit of coordination is required rather than charging in with the massive zerg. I really like the Temple of Lyssa event. Having to defend the points after capturing it and at the same time take the other points was really fun to coordinate and carry out, especially if you don’t have many numbers to work with.

I’ve had enough tokens for a while, its frustrating working so hard to get those tokens then to find out i cant even get my reward. And whats worse is waiting weeks for a seemingly trivial fix

Yep been reporting this bug for a while now to no avail. I’ve seen a couple of other threads bringing up this issue as well, including one i made myself about 2 weeks ago.
Hope A-net knows about this and is working on a fix.
The set looks awesome too, best looking light armor for my taste. Please fix this A-net ): . Have all the tokens for the shoulders but its killing me that i can’t get it
