Hello!

I was wondering if it is possible to see what items can be sold/ bought with free accounts via the API? I expected the /items endpoint to include a flag for that, but doesn’t seem like it does?

I’m still having this issue every single time… rather annoying.

#Edit, it actually has gotten worse. Even when just walking to a different place on the map I get forced back to the fixed location which I mentioned earlier after doing a relogin..

What did Support say?

I have’t spoken to support yet, don’t have much time to play/ be behind the computer atm.

Did you try a -repair of the client? Did you speak to the Tech CS Team about the issue? What did they suggest? Have you run diagnostics to see if you are experiencing packet loss?

I did both, repaired the client first, which didn’t help. Also ran GW2 Diagnostics and used several other tools to determine the connection, but nothing out of the ordinary. Laptop on the same network doesn’t have the issue, will try removing the local.dat next and report back once I’ve done that.

I experienced this, very occasionally, prior to the patch as well. It feels a little like the game only saves my location every now and then, and sometimes it ends up being invalid or something, so I either move back, or wind up being ported to the “default” entrance.

Can’t pin down how to reproduce it, though.

Ye I suppose it is different for everyone and not all seem to experience this? I’m currently still getting this 100% of the time though and am able to reproduce it consistently.

After the patch that just went live, whenever relogging after changing maps you’ll get teleported to a different (fixed) location.

How to reproduce:

1. Switch maps by using a waypoint
2. Log out > go to character select screen.
3. Log in again.
4. Done!

Example, whenever switching from gendarran fields to queensdale by waypoint, logging out and back in again, you’ll end up right in front of the gate to Divinity’s Reach.

Sometimes seems to happen when waypointing within the same map as well.

You’re either screwed or you’ll need a very understanding GM. I’ve never heard of anyone getting his/ her account name changed, but who knows, you’ll find out once they reply. As long as the old ticket wasn’t ‘finished’, pretty sure they’ll reply.

Oh that’s pretty sad to read, was already cursing at my tools for being broken. Good luck finding the cause, quite dependent (addicted?) on the API myself, hope it will be back up soon!

Sounds like your OC is unstable as you mention. Either up the voltage if there’s room for that or downclock? to 4.3/4.2 Ghz.

Well I lucked out with a pug just a few minutes ago. A squad had just finished the AB meta and then did vinetooth after. It was listed in LFG and it took 34 of us to beat it. I would have taken a video but my capture software decided to not work. But I got a screenshot at the end. Breaking it’s breakbar is vital to defeating this boss. Once broken I was doing 150k damage hundred blades to it. I still think this boss should be scaled to be easier in smaller groups because getting a decent lfg group for this is not happening often. And honestly.. now that I’ve beaten it, like many others, I’ll probably never do this boss again. And now that these 33 others got it.. thats probably 33 more that will not be rushing out to lfg to do it again either.

I just tried this event with a squad of 15.. This event has some of the worst scaling problems. I’ve seen the legendary giant in Dry Top get defeated easier. For some reason the chance at it’s break bar lasts a whole 2 seconds and only happens after it does a jump attack that wipes half the zerg and then jumps to the other end of the cave. It wouldn’t be to bad if there wasn’t a timer set on the event. It still had over 25% HP when the timer ran out. Not many people even want to do this event and it’s needed for legendary crafting. I’m glad newer legendary weapons don’t rely on events like this.

The fact you even had people with you to do the event already is a miracle, I haven’t seen any attention for it since the patch tbh.

I’ve recently started the Nevermore legendary collection and I’ve come the last piece for volume 1 and found it undo-able, it’s the part titled “Protector of the Exalted” based in Auric Basin. The problem is hardly anybody wants to join in for the event, and the few that do just get eaten instantly and the boss just gets harder and harder. I’ve been working at this one piece on and off since I started the collection and talked to other people that also said they’ve been working at it for a while. The thing is no matter how much I try to get a group from map chat, or people from my guild, it’s not enough to defeat it on time. Even with 20 or so people we couldn’t even get close, and it had hardly eaten anyone within it’s time limit. Just posting this for anybody to respond with tips or something I may be doing wrong, or if other people also have problems with the event.

It’s gotten ridiculous, I’m not on somewhere between my 5th and 7th attempt at that boss and every failure is due to the complete lack of participation from anyone else on the map. The fact that a piece to a legendary collection is so reliant on the help from random people on the internet is a slap in the face.

Been trying the vinetooth event for nevermore as well the past week, sometimes multiple times a day, it didn’t get completed even once. Seems like an impossible collection to finish for now :P.

There was a dev post months ago in the API Development section, mentioning /ip isn’t (supposed to be) unique. It’s intended behavior and thus not a bug. The function merely returns the IP your game is connected to and that’s what it should do.

I’ve had to roll it back on stage because I am a terrible programmer and it kept crashing.

Then I had to roll it back again since there were further issues causing it to crash.

Then, in the second rollback I did something wrong and the rollback propagated further down then it should have.

Long story short I missed the cutoff for the next release but I’m really hopeful that the release after will be the strongest castle in all of Tyria.

Equipment doesn’t stack in inventory thats the only reason really. They show up as a stack in the TP window because you bought them in 1 ‘transaction’. As the inventory can’t hold stacks of equipment, only utility stuff and materials, they get split up.

Too further destroy ele playing experience. The same reason goes for new fire*tenis*ball. The same reason goes for those nerfs and calling them balance to to iritate us and implement to our minds that ele won’t get anything proper.

Apparently uhuh. I do get why they nerf and change stuff every once in a while, I don’t like it, but it’s alright. Changing ride the lightening just because druid’s skill is being a pain, just feels like anet loves pestering ele’s at this point.

Hi there, im interested in making an app that allows kittener to manage their ingame account without beeing actually logged in the game, specially accessing the trading post: seeing recently bought items, selling or buying items etc… In the api: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/API there is nothing mentioned about a possible link to ingame-account without the game beeing physically opend but in this topic: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api/Guide-to-the-Black-Lion-Trading-Co-API , i quote: “Is it possible to buy with this api or merely watch prices?” Response:
“Yes it is possible to buy. For buy, you have to do a https post
https://tradingpost-live.ncplatform.net/ws/item/<itemId>/buy
with the following parameters:
{count=int,price=int,charid=<char guid>}
You also need your game session key.”

The problem is that, that topic is 1 year old and I guess the api got updated since “https://tradingpost-live.ncplatform.net/ws/item/<itemId>/buy” is not an accessible link, or I mostly get errors. The (my guess) new format, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/API:2/commerce/listings is much more friendly.

This guy in the topic said that some things like checking if you bought new items and such, is possible, but thats with the old API. Since I dont find anything in the API wiki related to in-game control, I came here to ask:

Is there something that can be done without the API mentioning it?
If yes: where could I get the information about the in-game info i just mentioned (since its not in the wiki api)?
If no: If the in-game info about an account is not possible, how could that guy did it 1 year ago, but not possible today (or at least i didnt found out how)?

To elaborate a little bit more on how the other guy was able to access TP in such way outside of the game:

GW2’s TP relied on a http connection, which made it easily possible to replicate the requests and fetch the necessary tokens

Since then the TP has been updated and it now uses the game connection/ sockets to transfer data, which ofcourse is encrypted.

I’m not able to open the Garnet Sanctum JP Chest, I’ve got both keys, bottom and top half and the last time I did this Jumping Puzzle is weeks ago. This also is the cause that I can’t get the “Garnet Leaper in the Mists” achievement. Sure would appreciate it if this can get fixed!

You need to download a dll from Microsoft to get that to work though (only you, not the user) and register for a Bing maps key (since that thing is Bing-Based)

What werdernator mentioned is indeed what I’m looking for, I probably should have been a bit more clear, but I wasn’t looking for C# Wrappers that provide simple use of the GW API, but for an actual map control that can handle the “custom” tiles in C#.

I was wondering what map libraries you guys have come across that are easy to use when it comes to handling GWs tile service. Do you guys have any recommendations? I came across a few myself, but haven’t decided which to use yet! Been looking through this section as well, but couldn’t find any info on suitable libraries for C#.
