For 32 bit users, the game is UNPLAYABLE. Crashing every 5 mins or so EVERYWHERE including PvP.

This seems to be what they wanted. Where they either want you to upgrade your system to 64bit to use their new client or kitten off. Since this has been an issue since HoT launched, it just has been made worse with this new patch.

What’s sad is I can barely play the game now with how often it crashes in places I never even crashed before. Like even in normal core world zones.

I crashed right when I hit the “play” button on my character screen after updating. The second time I finally was able to get in game and do some stuff in LA. Then when I went to talk to an NPC after a bit it crashed again. All within mins of both crashes, so whatever they did with this update really messed something up.

2nd violation your account is prema ban for just vulgar language? That’s stupid, not even the worse gaming companies would go that far. At the very least maybe a chat ban, banning someone’s full account just for hurting your feelings a little is just silly. If it was more harassment then I could see the reasoning but not just vulgar language.

Well even in the video the guy calls it an exploit when bypassing the champ. So yeah, it probably can get you banned if you abuse it.

Yes. So far “downgrade the settings” is the only answer about that problem we’re getting about the issue. Anet seems to be treating this problem as something natural, like the weather – something you must suffer through somehow, but what cannot be fixed at the source.

This isn’t a fix for most people though, it only fixes it for those who have a high end PC. Where those with more moderate PC’s to low are SOL and still crashing even on lowest settings.

Why not just make all NPC’s level 1000 where the whole megaserver will have to be together to clear? And if you die, all your gear and items are wiped and you have to start over from scratch?

This doesn’t really help, at least not for me.

I don’t mind HoT being harder, what makes me stay away from those zones is how much I crash. Mostly happens during events or bosses when I’m trying to progress my mastery and then I crash and lose all progress. It isn’t fun when this happens so often.

People already hate that you have to grind for it as it is, making per character would just throw people over the edge. lol

The crashing ever since the expansion hit has been crazy. Crashed one time so hard it wiped by wallpaper from my desktop. It’s to the point where I expect crashes at certain points in my gametime.

So is Berserk not even worth bothering with?

Join a guild that does groups together. Then you don’t have to deal with random people much.

I see nothing wrong with the mentor tag. It’s easy to distinguish from the commander tag and allows people to replace commanders quickly in zergs if need be.

I bought the first episode of S2 out of curiosity and it doesn’t even pick up where I left off in my story.

The personal story was over. You did you job as the commander and retired. Season 2 takes place 2 years later. Season 1 was live content that changed the world, but the consequence was that it all happened in real time and could not be replayed. Since season 1 ended with the opening of season 2, all new players are missing the beginning of the story, after the personal story. The beginning basically assumed life went back to normal after the dragon’s death, then one day, creatures emerged from the water and attacked Lion’s Arch (karka invasion, pre-season 1). These live events were later named the living story/world, and it all continued from there.

GW2’s selling point isn’t the story specifically, it’s the living world – the story of the world.

Yeah I kind of figured after reading up on it a bit more. It’s a shame since I was digging the personal story.

HoT was free? That’s news to me since I had to pay $50 for it, if you mean the base game then you’re in the wrong forum. Assuming everyone is living with their parents is childish in itself. Although it’s a common stereotype when trying to discuss game flaws and being kitten when someone doesn’t agree with you. Step it up buddy. :P

i have all classes mate and play all of them, but as i see some of the people here, look how quick they are in complaining against my topic. Its great how they have done this, i dont see you guys do it. But o you guys are so good at complaining, i mean everyone is a critic nowadays its so really lame. Its not just that the amount of rage this group is showing, it only shows that this very big group are just of so called casual people that live in the basement of their mother.

People paid money, they have the right to complain. That is the way I look at it. Just like you have the right to whine about people complaining.

Story isn’t this games selling point (Or they at least don’t make it that way). Since as a new player I finished my personal story, it then made me do a cutscene mission for scarlet’s story (Which did nothing for me story wise), then wanted me to buy season 2. Yeah, it’s not like GW2 was made mostly for casuals or anything…right? :P lol I’m all for some challenge but people acting surprise that people would be mad about their casual game not being so casual is silly. It was pretty much expected, even before the expansion launched. The HP grind was pretty ridiculous for those who had multiple toons, which GW2 promotes by having so many account shared items and boost. So it made sense for them to lower it.

Yeah I’ve been crashing quite a bit in HoT as well. Which is funny since I used to hate LA because I would crash every so often, but now I’d crash within 30 mins of trying to do stuff in HoT. Usually right when I’m in the middle of trying to get exp during a world event. It’s pretty annoying.

Even if they changed the amount of people needed for making a guild people would still get around this as they do in other MMO’s. Which they do by either asking people or paying people with in-game currency to help them make the guild. Afterwards they would either leave or be kicked by the founder of the new guild.

When I log into the game its self, I dont see people moaning, I see people having a good time and commenting on how fun it is and how refreshing it is to have an expansion that is different from the Base game yet still has the Gw feel.

First thing I saw when I logged in after HoT went live was “This expansion is garbage” in chat. lol

While I have no horse in this race I do find it odd that people are angry that they can’t have solo guild content. Considering the point of a guild is a group of people in pursuit of a common goal. Not one person stroking their kitten at the thought of being in a guild of one. So it isn’t surprising that they would make guilds more evolved around the group of people part than the guilds with one person.

I personally don’t mind having to get experience to progress in the game. I think what seems to have been a big issue for me in the new area is the world event missions that give that exp and the population of players. As it seems when an event pops you’ll be lucky to have enough people help you to even get that exp. I don’t know if this is a general population issue or because the maps are so big. It’s a issue that makes gaining mastery levels more a pain that has nothing to do with the experience gain part of the grind but more of not having enough people around to do stuff like in the normal zones.

All PVE is now megaserver. So even if there isn’t anyone on your home server you’ll be able to do PVE stuff with others from different servers. Your server population only matters I believe for stuff like WvW. For that I would just go off the server list population and join a medium to high server if you want population.

I’ve been crashing a lot lately, not so much due to my connection but the game just freezes up and I have to hard close it. Not sure what’s going on.

hmm well thanks for all the feedback. I’ll probably try some stuff out and see where it takes me. I also haven’t got into a guild yet so that probably would also help to guide me a bit in what to do when I decide to join one.

hmm I see, I guess I’ll just have to figure out what I want to do.

I’m new to the game, came in with the f2p and bought the expansion to unlock full account after enjoying the game. Now that I’ve reached level 80 it seems the only thing left for me to do is random stuff. It doesn’t really feel satisfying to the point I’m kind of regretting spending money. Is there anything for endgame that keeps you coming back or is it more of figuring out your own enjoyment from being at endgame?
