Are you capturing ruins instead of towers, maybe?
I was afraid it was something like that.
Oh, well.
A few days ago I deleted all of my alts (different account than this one) except a level 2 bank mule. I thought that the dailies would revert to the low level choices that another account has, but no.
My highest level alt so far is still under level 20. Last evening I was told to go to Frostgorge. I was able to complete the dailies by going to WvW, but it would still be nice to have an actual choice.
I’ve submitted a ticket already, but I wondered if anyone else had any experience with this.
Have you looked around the area to see if Demmi is just standing there? If an NPC is in your vicinity, there’s no mark on the mission map.
It matters in WvW.
I just bought my 4th. What can I say? I like to level, and it was the same cost for a new copy as it was for a new alt, and I can create 5 characters instead of 1 for the money.
Of course, now I’ll have to spend money on bank slots and gathering tools, but it’s all good
I have 3 accounts and 4 personal guild banks. It’s great!
Another reason to have extra accounts is anonymity. It’s nice to be able to play without everyone in my guild knowing I’m online*. “Invisible” works to some extent, but it limits chat options.
*My guild leader can get a little OTT with teasing, commentary, and pushiness when I just want to explore and gather. It’s better if he doesn’t know I’m online.
They’re taking up so much bank space, and I can’t think of a single reason why I need this many. (I use Frostbitten gathering tools pretty often, so they Just Keep Piling Up!)
Some of my least favorite (the tormented spirits in SB swamp and the stealthed one in Fireheart) have been mentioned, but my least favorite of all is Bjarni’s stupid rabbit food in Wayfarer’s. I’d sooner kill the big cats that appear occasionally, but they don’t spawn often. It’s not as awful as it used to be, but it’s still pretty awful.
I also hate the Ettin-Centaur heart in Queensdale, but it’s fast if you just kill centaurs and don’t have the agonizing conversations with the ettins.
Metrica: The “card” that causes oozes to appear, but the card only lasts for two transformations and you have to keep running back for a new one.
The things I don’t know about this game!! Thanks so much.
But there’s no way to preserve all the BLTC purchases, right? Home instance nodes, gathering tools, etc.
If you delete all your characters, can you choose a new server?
You can do anything that’s enjoyable for you.
Personally, I like to complete the map, which means finishing all “heart” quests, vistas, Points of Interest, and Waypoints. The rewards are nice.
“My Story” starts at level 10, and a new portion is unlocked every 10 levels. You can complete this or not. Same with “Living Story”.
There’s no “right” way to play this game.
I believe Ogre Wars is in Fields of Ruin, not Fireheart Rise.
You can, however, toss Karma gear into the Mystic Forge. The result occasionally is a soulbound item, but is often just a piece of gear that you can salvage, sell, or equip.
It’s not a great return, but it’s something.
There are times it’s nice to be able to mail stuff to yourself, as mentioned above. And I’m an altoholic.
I also enjoy the occasional anonymity of playing on my extra account to avoid guild drama, but that may be just me.
Did you check to see if caps lock was on accidentally? The “recover account” message is standard when something is typed in incorrectly.
You have to be skill level 75 to make these. You’re not quite there, yet.
What I really wish is that we could still spend our Wintersday currency.
I got one yesterday and two the day before from my home tree. They’re still dropping. If I use the Forge to use up entire stacks of snowflakes (125 gifts), I’ve been getting around 25 per 125.
Charr areas are the only areas with chili peppers, though, and they’re pretty valuable. And at least they’re fairly flat and easy to navigate. (Yes, bland.)
I fully support the OP. We need more pants and fewer billowy clothing skins.
