1) To the first poster, while it’s inevitable that other people will be judged based on their dps, that’s what happens when competition is involved, they go hand in hand. The compliment of any sort of competition is that those who are sub par will have to come to the conclusion that they are sub par.

1) No one ever thinks they are sub-par.

2) “Kitten” is Anet’s word for explicit, or otherwise unscrupulous, language.

gearscore was the best addon ever created in wow, it was great made people do the previous tier raids before go to the last tier raids, saddly gw2 doesnt have pve so i dont think inspect is needed

Imagine the scenario:

Anet: “We have just implemented an Inspect feature.”
Everyone in the game: /check Deny Inspection

I also support this, not just for PvE but WvW too, all too many times in WvW I’ve been able to see a straight line to a pot of oil or a trebuchet’s top yet I get the “Obstructed” of doom because I need to hit it’s base.

I think that’s more LoS and interference issues than hitbox.

And as for inspect, we should have the option to hide our gear.

That defeats the purpose of inspecting.

I dunno if it’s just me but, it’s real, real hard to navigate the social tools in GW2. Some things are not such a big deal, like lack of a respond keybind, but others are far more serious.

I have absolutely no idea how to search for players, guilds, zones, players my level, players in instances, instances in general, etc. Something along the line of the WoW /Who functionality comes to mind. A great part about GW2, and something I believe you have developed towards, is commonplace, every-day player interaction throughout the world. Tools like these would, in my opinion, allow for players to interact and communicate more easily. It would also let me find people in guilds I am trying to join… but that’s irrelevant.

Secondly, being able to mouseover and identify a player’s Profession, level, race and guild would be nice. Shift+Click in WoW, whatever, they’re like the Simpsons, they’ve done everything. But it would suit people forming PvE groups and be generally informative.

LFG comes to mind, though I have no idea how to improve it.

More emotes, or other character-based social interactions. Those are cool.

More options on the forums. Guild Recruitment and PvP related forums with subdivisions based on World(realm) and grouping would be nice. It’s discouraging to wade through the mass of Guild Recruitment forums to ,fruitlessly, try and find more on Eredon Terrace than the 33 that Search finds.

Anyway, loving the game. I’m having fun leveling which never happens in WoW. I discovered that Captain whatever-his-face-is in Lion’s Arch, Sharkmaw Caverns… has got to be my new favorite thing in video games, ever.

It’s not that I don’t want “Gearscore” (which is what you are asking for, regardless of what you call it) because it is in WoW. I don’t want it because of the attitudes it fosters.

My attitude (closed mindedness if you will) has been created by nosy, rude individuals who want to “inspect” me. I’m not in the military (anymore), and you are not my CO. Buzz off.

I disagree with your argument against Inspection. Yes, it definitely is the other players business -and right- to see your gear if you are looking for PvE, or anything else for that matter. If you are completely unprepared then they deserve to know and not figure it out when they have already invested 30 minutes into forming a run.

Gearscore was simply abused and had no relevance to whether not you were making correct gear choices or spec decisions. The PuGs that enforced GS rules weren’t ones you wanted to be in anyway, the likelihood of leader ninjaing and poor gameplay was way too high. If someone asks to inspect you, blows you off, and you are making correct gear choices, someone more capable and intelligent will be running in an hour and you won’t have wasted two in the aforementioned idiot’s group.

Anyway, from a personal standpoint, it’s fun to look around and see who has more awesome gear than you and e-drool over it.

Also, duels…. **** yes! I would really like to see some more avenues for individual player recognition. PvP systems that allow for small groups or individuals to display their skills in ways hat sets them apart from the rest of the player base. I know people may cry and say, “Oh, then Anet will have to go through the tedious, heinous, awful business that is profession balancing” cough WoW but, whatever… not everything is perfect.

Just e-purchased GW2 and was met with a couple problems in succession.

Firstly, I was unable to register the e-copy to an account name. When I was able to resolve that, I encountered several issues with completing the installation -I would consistently be stuck at 99% and 1 packet left.

Now, I am receiving an error that I can only assume is associated with purchasing the e-copy and account creation. When I go to log into GW2 I am met with the error, “The email address you entered was not found. If you have an active account, please try again. If you’re still having trouble, please contact Customer Support” accompanied by the error code: 3002:1008:1:462.

I can access the forums, obviously, and I am having no trouble editing my account information as I have changed my e-mail address from the one I originally used to sign up to an alternative.

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, and I apologize if this is a redundant topic.
