The Shared Inventory Slots are currently on sale and I am frantically trying to get enough gold together to buy some. The problem is the ridiculously inflated gold-to-gems conversion rate! I just look at the lowest amount displayed, being 400gems, which are usually 92-94g, inflated to 130-135g!

So, the smart thing to do is wait it out and hopefully, the price will drop some in the middle of the night when people are sleeping. I don’t know what timeframe I am looking at though with “Sale ending soon!” If I wait too long I’m afraid I’ll miss out.

I have tried several different diving locations in hopes of earning a rare and coveted Mastery point and none of these diving locations have awarded me an achievement! I met another player doing the same thing and he too said he was unable to get any achievement from diving.

So, is diving broken?

What you are looking for is an exploit, and that is a no-no. JPs are not supposed to be easy; hence, the “puzzle”. If you want JPs on easy-mode your best bet is to hire yourself a mesmer and pay them to portal you. I have done every JP in the game, more than once on some, several times on others. Hell, I’ll lead ya through them all for the right amount of coin. (Rubs hands together in a maniacal Mr. Burns fashion)

I use the Blink in PvE for popping over to a downed player (in the blink of an eye) during boss fights, so that I can help them get up and back to fighting.

Yep, nothing about key-farming has changed…at all… for me. Perhaps, it’s a bit quicker since the characters level so fast. Not enough that I’ve really noticed. Perhaps, once I’ve done it more than 3x I will see the difference in the time it takes me to get to Level 14. Or, perhaps not. /shrug

Key farming was a ~20 minute run. How is it even quicker…for you…now that the low level system/personal story has been borked so badly?

Oh, and on-topic: I plan on doing my same ol’ stuff that I have done for the last 2 years; sans key farming.

I may be strange, but I would be all for a subscription option in GW2. Not p2w (I hate that) but along the lines of some perks. Maybe some gems a month? Maybe like other MMOs do and some kind of loyalty program. Maybe a buff of some sort. Who knows. Maybe with a steady stream of income they could push out content or whatnot faster.

I have no problem opening my wallet for something I enjoy and supporting a company that gives me that enjoyment.

ArenaNet gave me many years of value entertainment in GW1. I expect that to continue in GW2 and I am sure it will.

Subs and subs w/perks are not all they are cracked up to be. I had a monthly with Lord of the Rings Online (LotRO – Turbine) until they came out with the ground-breaking new ‘Lifetime Subscription’; you paid $60 for the game and then $200 for a lifetime sub, wherein you did not ever have to pay a monthly sub again for the life of the game.

That was until they went F2P (which was actually P2W), adding in a ‘gem-store’, thus completely eliminating the ‘Lifetime Sub’. Oh sure, they gave you ‘perks’ like a few ‘gems’ per month, but really it was a big slap in the face to those of us that were loyal since launch.

I sincerely hope that ArenaNet stays the course and follows their own path.

Tequatl and Karka Queen (and Triple Trouble?) give the most loot. Quatl takes 15 min, Karka Queen 5 min.

Jormag and fire ele give two extra chests. Jormag is 15 min (and more), fire ele ~ 5 min.

Maw has high(er) chance for more than one yellow from the big chest and is done under 10 minutes.

Risen high wizard (gates of arah) gives a lot of loot.

Don’t know where you are playing these bosses at but your number are a bit off. And when has Jorlag and FE ever given TWO bonus chests?

My suggestion would be to add in some sort of death penalty back into the game. With the removal of repair costs I don’t think there is enough, especially in WvW. I died? Alright just let me insta-waypoint and run back. No big deal.

Why not add some sort of time delay after you die, where the dead person can’t waypoint for a short time? They could still be revived by allies, would even give friendly players that little extra time needed to get to the downed players location. I would appreciate it in both PvE and WvW.

I feel people would be smarter, more cautious in general about their gameplay this way. Its just a thought.

That’s a good idea. There should be a delay. And, like the diminishing effectiveness of attack after so many deaths, they could tack on more time: 1st = 8 second delay, 2nd = 12 seconds, 3rd = 15….and so on.

Still, on-topic, it would be really great to see some viable form of communication between live/dead players in regard to reviving/rezzing.

I was in Bloodtide Coast today, attempting to work on some world completion, and couldn’t find the last few POIs, Hearts and Vistas that I needed. I moved the world map around and saw some locations that I had not yet explored, but had gotten WPs close to on my way to Orr; thinking those must be the ones. Three times I wound up in the northern portion of Sparkfly Fen that I had ran through previously!

I have several 80s, all of whom have 52% World Completion between them. It’s a portion of my end game content that I have for myself.

Can we please get some border lines on the maps? It’s a small thing, I know, but it would make world exploration/completion so much less annoying.

I rez people for two reasons. I like to help out and more people alive means more people doing damage. I don’t rez people who are dead in events where the waypoint is close, because they should just teleport and run back. I do. But anyone downed I rez. There’s no reason to risk yourself rezzing people who are too lazy to run a few feet. But if the waypoint is far away then I’ll rez.

Yes, as I had stated before, I did contact PayPal also. They claim that there is no problem with my PayPal account and that there should be absolutely no reason for this transaction to not go through.

I didn’t complete this most recent (July 2014) ticket correspondence because the (3) times that this has happened and I have submitted tickets wherein I have explained in detail that I have talked to PayPal and that PayPal has found zero reason for this transaction not to go through, ArenaNet has asked me, “Did you ask PayPal?”

I don’t have those ticket numbers any longer.

Well rats! Our provider did put through a change and according to records, they believe they corrected the issue for everyone affected by the bug. Therefore, I think what you’re running into is an individual issue, so I encourage you to submit a ticket to allow an agent to help you.

I have submitted a ticket on 2 different occasions (months apart) in regard to the same scenario. When attempting to make an in-game purchase through the Gemstore and paying via PayPal, I am put through the buying/paying process until I get to the screen attached below, disallowing me to make said purchase. To these ticket submissions I am given the same response:

— ArenaNet claims that there is NO issue on their end that would not allow me to make an in-game Gemstore purchase paying via PayPal and that the issue has to be with PayPal.

— PayPal claims that there is NO issue on their end that would not allow me to make an in-game Gemstore purchase paying via PayPal and that the issue has to be with ArenaNet.

I never had this issue before ArenaNet changed their ‘provider’ to Digital River, Inc.

I have had several issues with trying to buy anything through PayPal. I have submitted tickets and talked directly with both PayPal AND ArenaNet and BOTH customer service reps for both companies have told me that the issue is not with their system and that it has to be with the other company. I wanted to buy another account before it goes back to full price, but cannot because the “purchase process did not complete”.

I never had this problem before (last year) when the PayPal transactions serviced for GW2 were processed through NCSoft. Ever since ArenaNet went with DRI (Digital River, Inc) I have had PayPal payment issues.

All valid points, thank you much. I am still a little conflicted though. Being a ‘casual’ player, perhaps I should stick to just the one acct. I play every night after work for about 4hrs and then on the weekends as I like. I have no guild (save for my own personal bank guild) and have no friends in-game. If I feel like doing a dungeon it’s the all mighty pug for me. sPvP is not my game. Occasionally I’ll pop into EotM to glean a level or 2 on my slow climb to 80 (my 9th lvl 80), but other than that it’s pretty much been solo play for me for the last 1 3/4 years.
Being a hoarder though does have it’s pull toward a 2nd account if just for the storage and cross-account mailing.

Currently I am floating around 140g~. I was over 200g, but had to craft some stuff.

That;s incorrect. There are still RP servers: TC and Piken. The way that the megaserver works is that it puts you with other like-minded players/guilds. Starting out on either of these servers would most likely guarantee that you would have other RP players to interact with, especially if you are in an RP guild.

…what do those of you that have a 2nd account think of it?

I already have 10 character slots on my account, so please don’t say, “Just buy more character slots”, like everyone in-game has said; that’s not what I am looking for.

To maximize your odds of running into other RP players more often, you’ll want to make sure you’re on the same world (generally TC and Piken are viewed as the RP worlds), and in guilds with other RP members also on that same world. For example, everyone from TC currently will be set to high priority to sort together, same thing goes with people who are all a part of the same guild (so guild up RP folks!)

We’ll continue to monitor, adapt and update the system as we go forward as well, for now I’d suggest seeing how it works once we enable the mega server system across all maps and then giving comments and feedback when you see it in action!

The Guardian is a melee character who supports up at the front lines. They do not do really well on their own, but do quite well in groups. Their DPS is OK, but where they really shine is supporting others.

You are “short a few silver” to the point that you cannot WP?? Man, you need to manage your funds better.

If you are being killed on your way to a vista, bring some friends/guildies. They probably have a character that could do some mapping as well. And if you’re on a low tier, running around with a group will make you a fairly powerful force to avoid. Also, WvW mapping is best done in a 3 steps, mapping each color’s main areas at a time.

I play solo. I have been playing for almost 2 yrs, solo. I have no friends nor guild mates. I should not be forced to have friends or guild mates in order to complete something in the game such as this exploratory achievement.
