They’re not read together. Each percentage next to the individual conditions is the total number effecting it.
So just to clarify, to achieve 100% burning duration, the individual burning condition when hovering your mouse over the overall condition duration stat line has to read “100%”?
EDIT: Here’s my current scenario – right now I have 73% condition duration increase, and 40% burning. So does that mean my burns will only have 40% duration increase since my build only using burning? Thinking of it this way… there’s no point in my upping my main condition duration… Sorry as I am trying to get this clarified before I spend gold on viper and trailblazer asc gears.

When you hover your mouse over condition duration and it shows your burning duration increase, how do those two stack? I’m trying to get 100% burning duration and I am not sure how to read the 2 together since I have a mixture of condi dur/burning dur stats. Thanks in advanced!

This. This is the build that WP is using. I did try this build out in high level fractals – it’s a bit too squishy for my taste. I prefer running the my personal variation of the “sand squall” tank condi ele thread that was posted here as well

Yea the biggest assumption is that the nuock vender in TD is bugged. The trailblazer recipies drop from that zone and the chak weapons are trailblazer.

Hard … Do events in HoT map. Buy insignias and craft exotic. Information in wiki is unfortunately still very low.
I see that the trailblazer recipe’s are on TP, but the insignia is still not found? Been searching google and reddit and I’m not getting clear answers.
Yeah no way in hell that build does 22k dps. Sinister engi is the highest condi DPS class/build right now and that is calculated at 20k dps and that math might even be off and overstated.
Elementalists ranks alot lower than other classes when it comes to conditions. It’s very easy to test this by doing a couple rounds on target dummy with different classes to see who kills faster/gets most stacks and duration.
Also to the people saying ‘zerk is not good in jungle low defense’ bla bla. No. Just play better. Stacking defensive stats only means less damage and some of these new creatures require serious beating to take down. Stacking defense only makes those fights last long and over time most vets will likely kill you as they have more health and more toughness than you. The best approach is to stack on as much damage as you can so that all you need is your two dodges and possibily some defensive skills (I’m running arcane shield) before the monsters are dead.
I run Air/Arcane/Tempest Assassin/Zerk mix with Strength runes and sigil and dumplings + sharpening stones. A single OLA kills everything thats not a vet in 30 mile radius instantly. For vets you have Glyph of Storms, Fresh Air bolt spam + the two Breath skills and OLA on a 6 second cooldown but often they don’t even last that long.
Did you even watch the video? It’s not based off of theory, it’s based off of an actual fractal 50 fight – albeit, a bit skewed since alacrity is up 100% of the time pretty much.
Regardless, there are some new ele condi builds going around right now that is giving top condi builds a run for their money.

If you had the HoT lost progress bug your accounts should be back, they disabled your account to fix the issue, if it wasn’t that then you did something against the rules..
Doubt it. I can bet my whole life savings I didn’t do anything wrong. Even redditors are getting banned, pretty sure its affecting multiple accounts. Forum threads with people saying the same thing wouldn’t be happening if you didn’t know why you were banned.

I checked back and it seems to have fixed itself. My incin, Meteorlogicus and Dawn all in tact, characters all there and everything looks just about fine. Try checking back and see if that works

Honeslty I’m feeling very frustrated at the game now, too. I feel like I’m having to fight it, not play it. Absolutely everything I want to do is blocked due to a bug or bad programming:
1) Can’t complete Dungeon Master because Arah P2 no longer awards achievement credit.
2) Can’t complete HoT story because one of the episodes is broken and won’t progress.
3) Can’t complete HoT map completion because rewards are bugged.
4) Can’t progress in Fractals because my Ascended rings cannot be Attuned, due to a bug (or bad programming oversight).
5) Can’t complete meta events due to client crashing, and then inability to get back into that map.
6) Can’t just run around and play because the client crashes at the drop of a hat.Very, very frustrating…I definitely feel like I cannot get the game I played $99 for…
At this point, the current motto is:

Ummmmm raids will be released within a week ….. They said mid-November this year so that’s either this week or by next week.
LS3 should be starting up soon and if you don’t have HoT then you can’t play those episodes.
Huh? Think you may have missed my point. I know raids will be released soon – my point was that I’d sacrifice them releasing raids and working more on it if they put their focus towards OP’s said issues first, THEN focusing on raids.
Would much rather have bug fixes than raids. Like the map completion reward for 100% WC bug and the individual story bugs and the HC non-complete bugs, etc, etc…

Crafted a full medium set after HoT release from scratch for roughly 800g including leveling of leatherworks 500. Seems fair to me as there are enough new money sources now with new mats on the market and older materials getting cheaper, especially T6 mats. Plz stop repeatedly asking for things for free. Those 7 pieces were only 100g each which is less than 10h per piece which again should roughly match the time needed in fractals to get a random chest… Stop being lazy or be happy with exotics, its only 5% and if you are not willing to invest in those 5% you may not be willing to wipe the same amount of time for 5% progress in raids!?

I think you may have missed the point. We’re not getting these numbers from random. These are all compilations of points addressed by Anet with resolutions to many things such as fractals, and that end of the deal wasn’t met. This is in no way a QQ of price, but rather, Anet saying one thing and doing another.
That’s the biggest issue right now pertaining to Asc items (along with the fractal “nerf”) – it’s currently outrageous to craft Asc items and there are no other reliable means of getting them but through crafting. Everything that was addressed has been implemented poorly and this economy is more like a crisis than an issue when it comes to relevant mats.
As of now, either truck and grind through to make one piece or just stop until Anet addresses this issue.
I am sure quite a few people have a few legendaries they just don’t use any more, Just make all the salvaged materials account bound as to avoid changing the economy. Somet i would like people to be thinking about. XP

you can get ascended without having to do fractals… yes its a bit costly, but so was the first sets everyone ever made unless they held out and only looted their pieces…which often times didnt match in runes and set stats… It has also been said that the new raids can be done with exotic, it would just be harder to do at the latter raids without ascended. Thus giving you time to loot pieces along the way… or craft them….
Honestly, it’s mainly the false promises when it came for the dedicated playerbase that loved doing frac/dungeons is my biggest concern. I can see those who loved doing dungeons suck it up, finally test out fractals, only to be disheartened even more – and that’s what really upsets me for them (I was a fractals player as opposed to dungeon running)

I’ve come to the realization that I now play a kitten-tier class in PvP, will never have ascended gear so I wont be able to do Fractals/Raids,
I’ll disagree with you on this one – there’s no need for ascended in Fractals. You mostly just need agony, but I feel that fractals is a great precursor to “gear” you towards the bigger content, aka, Raids.
I got a chest of Ascended Rampager Armor (I get to select the piece) yesterday.

Maybe the drop rate was not nerfed in pvp and maybe Pvp is now the place to go for ascended armor drops. But what about Tequatl, TT Wurm and WvW? Those places are probably still reliable for ascended drops.
In my GW2 career, I’ve gotten 4 ascended chest boxes: 2 armor from PvP track, 1 armor from Living Story 2, and 1 Weapon Chest from fractals. And that’s after tons of fractals. And no, teq is a terrible source for Asc chests – My whole guild for the past 3 months who do it every day has gotten maybe 1 or 2 drops.
I don’t understand what their economist is thinking. I understand wanting to tweak the economy but he really needs to put more thought into things. Any tweaking needs to be done in a way that avoids losing customers.
I agree, after HoT was released I’ve never seen so much griefing on the forums for the same things, and honestly most of them boil down to two things: Drop rate, and economy prices since they are the foundation of everything. The community can only last for so long after Anet’s pushed out all the possible new content they can before players actually begin leaving. Like I said before, I hope Anet takes these next couple months in stride as it will be crucial for them.
Exactly. I played because the rewards were awesome (even if by a practical chance) when doing the challenges. Now, it’s literally a chore with sub-zero drop rate.
Introduction of ascended salvaging? Yeah that was another fail on top of the mountains of fails (concerning 5-man dungeons) since all it does is steal your gold.
At the moment, fractals is NOT the way to go and I would avoid doing them for nothing more than your dailies. As of right now, the devs have killed any sort of 5 man team dungeons for guild wars 2.

It’s been all over reddit with spreadsheets and everything and just ONE serious comment from Anet would suffice that they are aware of this.
They nerf dungeons to focus on fractals and “claim” it to be their focus for end game when fractals ended up being nerfed to heck as well – it’s seriously a grind system now that isn’t rewarding at all. I have so many guildies and friends who quit doing fractals above 50 and solely do em for dailies now that it’s literally just a chore. I hope Anet doesn’t shoot themselves in the foot as it’s lookin’ like a pay 2 play just to get ascended gear with these insanely inflated prices.
At LEAST un-nerf the frikkin’ dungeons or something.
I was in that same map it took all my HOT progress away from my dragon hunter. I relogged, got my elite spec and HOT stuff back but my map progress on all the HOT maps except gilded hollow are lost.
You’re right, people are now complaining about that as well.
EDIT: Checked my maguuma status, ALL progress is gone. All the maps are currently undiscovered as if I’ve never touched them.
Weird – I got a whole maps worth of players complaining, as do I. When you select Tempest it says “This feature will be available upon the future release of Guild wars 2: Heart of Thorns… yada yada”
Haven’t checked other maps but, as soon as you log into this map, it deselects your elite spec and you can’t select it. Everything about the map is pre-HoT. Just FYI for those who were wondering. Anet needs to notice and fix this.
Tried searching everywhere but couldn’t find a specific topic. Is there an “optimal” critical chance an ele should have? Let’s say running a staff PvE build. What critical chance numbers are you guys running around with?

So you want to even the leveling field? I’d agree to decrease CD on PT if you decrease base health and armor to “Assassin” level (like a thief) when they enter Shiro stance; you know, since you’re all about them being an “Assassin” and evening the playing field. Cause when do Assassin’s where heavy kitten armor, they need to wear cloth!

Now if anet decided that hey a crafted precursor should require 1000 icy runestones then yea thats a ridiculous gold sink and obviously not worth it. You can always go out and farm the mats to save on costs, its not about getting it as fast as you can thats the whole point of this new method. Its to actually give you something to work on.
I understand that, which is why I had worded my sentences in a way that both scenario’s are actually NOT rng-related. Buying off of TP is technically not RNG, hence why I can sell the mats I acquired for the collection journey and just buy it off of TP straight as opposed to doing the journey (which I wanted to do for the experience AND to save some gold, which isn’t the case at the moment).
Essentially, I am technically working for the precursor off of TP with straight gold, as opposed to incremental. The “RNG” related scenario you described would be the case if my goal was to strictly grind mobs endlessly in hopes to get the precursor without use of any type of currency.
farming gold and buying one is less time consuming, depending on precursor much cheaper AND doesnt rely on rng too.

Let me know if I’m wrong – this is just an FYI to those who are thinking about doing the legendary journey’s.
I’ve been an advocate for doing the journey when the prices were about 100-200 gold cheaper than the precursor (like 2 weeks ago), but I’m mainly speaking for the Legend and for all the wood mats. As soon as decided that I would finally start this journey since I’ve saved a ton of mats and gold, I initially started calculating how much it would take to do the first two recipes that cost the most. Well, it was already over 600 with current market prices given you don’t have any mats. With the rest of the journey still to complete (and still needing those spirit wood planks), the whole journey would probably cost more than the precursor AND you actually had to spend hours of your time doing things around Tyria when you might as well had just bought it straight off TP. At this point, I’m going to just sell my current mats and easily just buy it off of TP (on top of saving your tokens and karma).
What do you guys think for those who plan on or are currently trying the journey’s? Is there a precursor that isn’t affected as much due to the mat inflations? I was sad to hear that the Legend was heavily affected…
It was fun till I got the first recipe (bifrost) then it became yet another gold sink. Which after doing the math it will most likely be easier and cheap to just buy the pre.
For those that want the math:
So it takes 35 spirit wood planks (~258g on tp) or 1750 trees to chop down (sounds like fun right?) no counting elder wood, then 10 asc leather (~78g) then there’s the pvp glory and wvw things (~60g) or how ever long it take to get those (200 of each), haven’t had time to find out. Equals out to 396G for just the tier one, remember there are 2 more I can only assume will will want just as much or more = 1,188G (188 over current TP price)
You assume wrong, from what I’ve been able to tell, the first stage is the most expensive stage, the next two tend to be cheaper.
What NightShadow said. The first tier of Bifrost actually accounts for over 50% of the total to make The Legend. Someone over at reddit actually tallied it up when he created it and it comes to ~630G.

Definitely this. Right now we lose energy, get skill on CD and don’t actually get any closer to our target.
I wish this were the case as well as for every other class that has issues similar to this.
The one thing that pops at the top of my head is that annoying “No Valid Path To Target” when a thief uses infiltrator strike with the shortbow… and it uses initative and you are in the same place. SO ANNOYING!
Honestly, I can’t believe how quickly so many people have become so selfish. Half the posts you can tell what spec people are using because they think x and y are fine, but how could you even think about doing z.
This was a fairly friendly, mostly productive little corner of the forum for a long time. I’d hoped it might stay that way a little longer. Hard to imagine that the way people are behaving.
I agree – I’m stunned as to how many people have been complaining of a couple of things that doesn’t fit their needs here and there and then being catered to. ANet was nowhere near this responsive 2 years ago. I completely understand the grief people feel when your favorite class gets nerfed and it’s definitely hard to look at it from the other side of the fence when you’re so upset your favorite skills have been crap-tized. I’ve grown to accept that playing a class that was always shining (ele). I am so thankful we are out of that spotlight now. (looking at you, chronomancers and reapers)
1) Game just came out, new class is still fresh and they already nerf it before gathering more data
2) we aren’t against nerfs per se but against nerfs that hit class design. Giving more and more CDs on a class that was designed and intended to be without CDs and managed by energy is in stark contrast to what Rev was supposed to be. I am slowly feeling cheated more and more because the class is becoming less and less what it was marketted as. You don’t see ANet removing 1 of your attunements. You don’t see Thieves getting Cooldowns on their weapon skills (because they got INI and ini is like nergy).
1) they just gathered data. It’s called the first few days post-launch.
2) Crai crai. They’re trying to balance the game. It’s one skill. The game isn’t about your gratification and nobody cares if you feel cheated. The class is still plenty of fun. Get over yourself.

Understand that unlike other classes Rev is stuck with a Legend’s skills. If they make 1 skill bad then you’re stuck with it.

Few days post launch is not enough data. That’s obvious you don’t gather data in 5 days about entirety of pvp/pve/wvwvw and all other elite specs developing. Something that would take them months suddenly takes 5 days? Who are you trying to kid? Yourself?
I’ll agree and disagree with both of you.
Please provide more constructive criticism – we all know what it’s like to 3rd person view a class being nerfed and not affecting you and also being on the receiving end – both mindsets are at different spectrums at that point.
But, I do believe that 5 days (don’t forget we’ve had beta) is definitely enough time to know if a skill needs to be nerfed or not (Also note that Revs aren’t the only one who has been nerfed the past couple of days, and hell, Revs haven’t been hotfixed yet like some other classes have had to (from my current knowledge)). Especially since HoT is now live, I’m sure TONS of data was gathered enough for ANet to realize that the skill might have needed tweaking. I won’t judge by how they tweaked it, but I won’t say that it wasn’t justified.
And just for general knowledge, ANet actually has a select guild(s) who do selective testing for them behind the scenes. They are typically the top guilds of the servers and ones who compete in tournaments. Most of their decisions are probably based off of what they see from them as well during PvP matches and such.

I didn’t say not to nerf it. I said not to nerf it by breaking class design. So no, it’s not better. I didn;t even use the skill that much. I use riposting shadows at least 5x as often. I dislike it because it goes against what revenant is.
They can increase cost of the ability by 5-10 points instead but they decide to add CD.
I am not new to nerfs/buffs and mmos in general. Since 1997 I have already played many and many alphas betas
I’m thankful that UA was changed. It was a joy to see it interrupted. :-)

I agree… like I said being an ele main, I’ve learned ANet to be quicker to nerf nowadays hence why I’ve been holding off on creating my rev. Literally felt like I dodged a bullet on that one based off of the current forum reaction lol
Trust me, better nerf now then later when you are COMPLETELY used to having such awesome no CD skills. Get used to it now rather than later. We can always trust our awesome skills to be nerfed (appropriately).
EDIT: I’ve been on the rev forums for some time and have thankfully waited for the dust to settle on them as I am definitely making one. I am VERY glad I didn’t get to experience the pre-nerf PT… I would have probably cried myself to sleep as well xD

As an ele main, I believe us players now have the thickest skin when it comes to changes like these. Jokes aside, everyone is hating on the 5 second cooldown… The rev threads sound exactly like how the ele thread was years ago when this nerf occurred:
Ride the Lightning skill:
Increased recharge increased 20 seconds to 40 seconds.
Recharge is now halved if the player strikes a foe.
Reduced the range to 1200 from the previous (hidden) 1550.
Now, THAT was a nerf

And then when things get slimy, rev can stance dance on the fly to a gasp healz build or even worse, legendary b00n build. What’s a thief got on that? Nothing because its the worst class in the game lol.
you get heavy armor and the staying ability no thief has, argument invalid. Running is all the devs seems to give thieves. That and stealth nerfs described as buffs..
This. I don’t main either but I honestly can never understand why people compare certain aspects of one class to another. Have you ever tried playing a thief for real? They are the absolute squishiest class of all time. Yeah, they can run away but that’s about it. A rev is a HEAVY armor user. Just because a thief can run miles doesn’t mean a rev should be able to as well – they are not assassins. That’s the beauty of each class, is that they have certain uniqueness the other’s classes can’t and shouldn’t obtain.
I’ll agree to this post if you strip rev’s of their armor and HP and even it out with a thief’s.
I only use S/F in pvp, not WvW, but what I’d suggest based on my experiences is running earth instead of water to pick up written in stone and geomancer’s freedom, since written in stone gives you a good low CD heal that you can actually pop, and geomancer’s freedom gives you much lower CDs on your earth focus skills that are important in surviving.
Also One with Air is really nice with fresh air in order to kite and move around more effectively.
I agree – I’ve been playing exclusive S/F after D/D patch both in fractals and PvP and have been doing well. Putting stats into earth trait already increases your survivability. I can’t count how many times I’ve won skirmishes in PvP (1 v 2 as well) simply because of obsidian flesh – reminds me of the good ol’ mist stomp days, but this time, you have access to all of your skills. Now staff will definitely be the better choice when it comes to damage and aoe output, and in WvW, but S/F is definitely a force to be reckoned with with practice.

The key is to ensure you make use of the fresh air trait AND your defensive focus capabilities. People seem to forget that you have the ability to block projectiles, interrupt, stun, and that earth 4 is a blast finisher as well as a damage skill (all focus abilities!). Add it to the fire rotation if you’re able to knock someone down. Practice makes perfect!

I’m sure it’ll dwindle back down once the hype is out. Look at thieves, for example, probably the most neglected class nowadays (I remember when they were once the most glorious, almost if not on par with the elementalist until the nerfs obliterated them to dust) and for most scenarios, the old spec lines would probably be better.

SShhhh!!!! They’re going to nerf that too!!! I am loving having an /F offhand now because the utility in earth is amazing. It has true invulnerability whilst being able to do anything you want.

The definition that matters is the one the game makes, and until now it’s been defining one person as a valid guild. It has allowed that one person to earn guild upgrades, buffs, and items. The game has NEVER gone by the Merriam-Webster definition, and you very well know it. We all know you’re smarter than that.
Argue the actual issue here, for good or for bad. If the best you can do is to point at some supposed outside “authority” that has nothing to do with the reality of the game, you may want to reconsider your stance on this issue.

Did I once argue about the game logic? Nah. What many were irked about was how his argument was based off of HIS personal definition of what a guild is, which is incorrect. I’m here not to point out what he can and can’t do in the game, as obviously (since we all know you and I are brighter than that), allows for it. My point is simply in his flawed logic of imposing his personal opinion of what a guild is, which, fundamentally is incorrect with what he was fighting for in the first place. If you want to win an argument, then you better come up with better, more staple reasoning than “I CAN MAKE A GUILD. I AM A FAMILY. GUILD CAN BE ONE PERSON” as all it sounds like is a child screaming for what he wants. I’m sure you’re smart enough to understand what it takes to have valid points in an argument.
Next time you may want to read (which I know you can, albeit, cumbersome since the thread has gone to kitten) on previous posts, my good sir.

Well I’m done talking about semantics on what determines a guild or not same for bank guild/s since we all have different opinion’s on the subject while no one is going to convince the other side any different. So lets all to agree to disagree on those 2 points and leave it that.
As the rest of your post is all moot point since you don’t know anything about my guild or its history so nothing else for me to comment on.
In general speaking not directed to anyone one person here on the forums
It would nice if people would stop and think for few moments and realize that players are all different and coming from all kinds of different back grounds. That we all have different interest in things we want to do in game and how we want go about doing those things. Also with what we are or not willing to put up with since some things are not for everyone as some people just want to relax after a long day work/school and not wanting to deal with more crap in game or be one someone’s else time table serving them etc.
