Hi all
I am considering at present buying either an MS surface pro 2 (i5/8gb RAM with an intel 4400), or a Dell Venue 11 (i5/8Gb RAM with an intel 4200) for portable gaming.
Wondered if any of you guys on here had tried playing GW2 on either of these?
Would be nice for me when travelling for business, and was after some first hand experience (frame rates/settings used etc).
I know the hardware specs of each, so its not to discuss the merits of 1 vs the other, I am just after some personal feedback from anyone who owns either of these.
Thanks

yep gave up on it also, overflow overflow overflow……. also personally think the risk vs reward is unbalanced. IMO a worldboss that needs the coordination of so many people should reward better items.
thanks both for the reply, i guessed as much (the skill link being historic etc) just wondered if anyone know what or how to parse. I am indeed just putting it in my db and ignoring at present, and just taking the following part which is generally the attributes.
sad there is no skill api yet though, will see with time
thanks for your replies though guys, appreciated
Hi guys
first time posting in the API section. I have been working on some code involving retrieving item data for some time. I notice that with some items (mostly ascended items) there is an additional array labelled “buff” in the infix_upgrade section of the JSON which is returned.
A good example of this is item 39276. Part of this is additional stats which makes sense, but there is another part labelled “skill_id” which is a number.
Does anyone know what the stat is or if it can be translated to something meaningful? Couldn’t seem to find anything on here or the wiki.

Also the Radiant shoulders (rewarded for achievement points) look freaking HUGE on some characters, depends of course on your class and race but worth taking a look at
Pressing esc during combat also works
sadly not that either, though the advise is appreciated. Mine is just a vanilla win 7 install
Yep have had this issue for months and months so have a lot of other people I speak to.
Re-installing GW2 was one suggestion I read, but this did not work for me. Would be nice to have a fix though as its been around a really long time

Glad you got your answers, enjoy!
Hi Babios
I can try and answer a few of these for you:
1. Level 30 is the first dungeon. This is Ascalonian Catacombs (story mode). The first explore-able is the same dungeon at level 35.
2. No…. there are classes that are ‘more tanky’ or ‘more support’ but there is no healer class, tank class etc as such. Your tanky-ness or support abilities depend on your build rather than entirely your class
3. see 2,
4. list of the dungeons and their levels are here http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dungeon
5. Nope
Levelling:
1. yes all nodes are automatically shown on the mini map. Ores look like little metal hills, trees are little tree icons and plants look like little green plants with 3 leaves.
2. Nope, if you are looking for a guild i would suggest the guilds sub-forum on here.
3. You can alter some aspects of the gui like showing names or not, size of the UI text and such in the system menu under options
4. Yes dont assume that you need to do the maps sequentially for your race. Go to other races maps as well. For example if you have done the charr starter zone 1-15 and you are finding the 15-25 one tricky. Go to the azura start zone, or human one etc. All can be found easily by going to lions arch (from your home city through the portal) and from there you can go to every other race’s home city. Also yes follow your story, it gives nice xp and sometimes nice rewards
5. no
hope that helps

Hi Chrissaber
hopefully i can help you:
1. Gear stats don’t matter too much at lower levels, just try to keep within a few levels gear wise. I would recommend upgrading around every 10 or so levels, just go with cheap blues or greens if you dont get anything nice dropping for you.
2. i would suggest crafting whenever you could use a bit of an xp boost, i.e. when you want to do the next part of your personal story, a higher level map or such. Each craft will give you 10 levels of xp going from 0-400. You may want to level 0-200 on each at lower levels, then 200-400 at higher levels so that you at least have some of the higher level mats in your bank.
Hope that helps

As wooboost says it will indeed be hard to start new now. A lot of people want guilds with bonuses rather than being in a new one with nothing at all.
I started my old guild originally with friends from a previous game which gave us 15 or so people as a foundation at release but unless you can do similar (or want to just spam all day for recruits) its going to be tricky.
Oh and as a blatant recruitment attempt, if you are after a nice EU guild drop me a PM we are a nice bunch

After more investigation on this we tried the following with the results:
1. noone skip the cutscenes – result: instance bugs
2. noone uses waypoints and walks at all times – result: instance bugs
3. only use 1 gun shield on the right of the ship at the giants – result: instance worked
When running the instance we noticed that the ship pauses briefly at the point where it often bugs out. We also noticed that the giants seem to die much faster than they used to. Therefore we made sure the giants were not all dead at the point where the airship pauses or bugs (in other tries they always were dead due to the reflecting shields being used on all three guns).
Seemed to work, will test again at the weekend to see if it can reliably be proven that its the giants getting killed too early causing the issue
Yup as Basil says you can simply copy or move the folder, works just fine.
Had this same issue several times now, once last weekend and twice in a row this weekend. Have reported this in game as well
Just an FYI that it appears for whatever reason the daily option to complete a personal story part does not work.
Last night a guildmate and myself who are leveling alts together did 4 out of the 5 daily achievements, and then decided to run a personal story part together for the 5th.
Both went to the same story part, completed it but neither of us got the daily achievement.
Would guess others have experienced this, could be related to us doing it together rather than solo but i shall try that tonight.

Crimsony is correct, you can view your craft designs wherever you are in the hero panel, but to actually craft you need to be at the relevant craft station (in your case at an artificer station)

Hi everyone
having just taken on an officer role in guild thought i would pop on and say hi.
Having being welcomed to the guild with open arms last year, i have finally found my guild in life and made many new friends, so I hope to recruit more of you so that you may experience what The Conclave is for yourselves!
We are constantly getting larger and more and more organised with events so now have organised events (pvp, pve and WvW) almost every day, as well as many random ones such as dragon hunting, random dungeons or random sPvP/tPvP. Also we should soon hit 100 members.
If anyone is interested in joining us feel free to post on this thread or PM us here or in game. Alternatively feel free to go jump on our website at http://www.conclave.cc and see what we are all about.
We hope to welcome you soon

Having recently joined CC I must say I can heartily recommend them to anyone. A nice social guild that have plenty of PvP, WvW and PvE action.
Always plenty of active people, and always a good laugh is had on teamspeak.
If you fancy some fun with a nice bunch of nutters, you should come and join us. I look forward to spending many years to come with my new family

thanks for the reply Meri, ill get back to you
Hi guys and gals
I currently run a guild on Far Shiverpeaks, however we are looking at the possibility of disbanding and moving to another like minded guild. This is mostly as we are finding it difficult to expand and recruit as we would like
We are looking for a mature, social, casual guild that are up for everything in game. We sPvP, WvW, Pve etc etc. Some of our members are very casual and only play a few hours a week, and others are on every day.
All of us have real lives etc so are not interested in any guild that says things like ‘turn up for x event or you get kicked’.
Some of us have played together across multiple games and have known each other a long time, and regularly use voice comms especially for WvW and dungeons
We are unsure how many people would want to move with us, but we currently have forty or so members.
So are there any guilds out there that may want to expand their numbers, that are like minded? If so please let me know on this thread or by pm
Edit: forgot to mention we are all english speakers, and from all over europe
Thanks
Era

no you cannot do that im afraid, you have to do like for like i.e. medium helm to medium helm
Hi Tarwada
There are many things that effect your health pool, such as the Vitality trait line, runes, armour etc.
My guess (it is a guess of course without knowing you and your friends builds), that you do not have any points or perhaps not many in the vitality trait line, and/or your friends have armour with +vit whereas you dont.
there is a guild to hp on the wiki, which explains how the base value is calculated

hope that helps
