personally i use my necro with axe/dagger and staff though mostly dont need the staff
works fine with your minions (if you can ignore them standing around doing nothing on occasion)
axe i prefer in main hand over dagger for skills 2 and 3, and also the distance factor
I have a glass cannon build thief also, and its great for fast kills but too squishy for farming easily in the level 75-80 zones, hence i prefer my necro
hope that helps

Doh we cross posted zargnath…. ah well he got the answer. You must just type a little faster than me
you can transfer for free (though only once per week i think it is now), and there is no need to delete anything……. your character will transfer when you do.

the original posts and tweets etc stated that the Friday and Saturday ones were just start times, not single events so yes I don’t think it matters after the kick off time for part 1 and part 2.
As for level, it does state you will be auto levelled to 80 for the events, so level shouldn’t matter.
Hope that helps

haven’t personally tried 4 yellows, so wouldnt like to guess.
unidentified dyes cannot be used as far as i am aware only opened ones (I do this a lot), i will double check once i have some more though
Hi hahawinner
I am not sure about the first few questions so I will leave someone else to answer those, but your fourth question: yes they work the same way 4 greens will make another random green with a chance to proc to yellow (same applies for blue to green also). FYI the same applies for dyes
hope that helps

Angels and Demons [AnD] on our home far shiverpeaks is recruiting.
We are a casual friendly Pvx guild, mostly adults with jobs, real lives and so forth. The guild is multi game and has been around for several years. We do everything GW2 has to offer, and up until now have had around 30 members so we are now looking to expand our ranks.
We run regular dungeons, WvW etc and have our own mumble server
If you are after a small social mature guild, feel free to drop us a quick application on our website:
We look forward to hearing from you

I have never written a post like this, but…..remove the halloween bug please
so far we have loved with this event (I say ‘we’ to include other guild members and friends):
- dc’s every 10 – 20 mins
- hour(s) patching due to the lack of download speed from a-net servers (max <1mbs) and no its not my connection, and i am not alone in this
- lions arch being almost unplayable due to ‘pow’ ‘bam’ + hundreds of people/griefers in the same area
- having to cancel our own guild events this evening due to instability/time to patch/logon issues/dc’s
most of my regular guild members quit playing this evening or couldn’t even get on for more than a few mins, myself included due to constant dc/un-playability/stutter/lag/patch download time etc. Lag/un-playability and dc issues are in normal zones, even when ignoring the event and trying to play the normal game
I am usually one of the big fans of GW2, and am often a helper on these forums so it pains me to write something like this.
mods-please feel free to move this to bugs if you wish, I was not sure if you wanted here in the event forum or in the bugs forum as it is both a bug and an event
no problem at all, enjoy the game
Hi detritux
i think you may misunderstand their purpose, what level is your toon? A trait book simply enables you to use trait points (one gained per level after level 10 up to level 40) it does not grant you 10 trait points simply for using it.
see http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trait for details

this is kinda what im saying capn… if you were to say get the whole xp needed for 1-80, split into 80 days. This would mean you level 20 times on day one, then 25 times day two and then at level 70 you would just shoot 1 mob to achieve your xp for that day
As bri says as well maps, PS and crafting too good for levelling.
i just think you may be overly complicating something, when xp is linear i would aim to be the same, i.e. get 2 or 5 or whatever levels otherwise you will take 24 hours to achieve day one, and 2 seconds to do levels on 70+
you could quantify this, but the issue is that xp gain is directly proportional to your level.
What i mean by this is…. say you do a lvl 40 event at lvl 40 you will receive lets say 1000 xp. Do the same event at level 80 you will receive 10000 xp. Both of these would be x% of your required amount to level. Thats not completely accurate for some things, as they are fixed, but as a general rule its true.
I would suggest you just try to achieve x levels (or part of) per day, rather than a set number of xp.
Just my advice of course, feel free to ignore me, but it works for my levelling
yea either of those two really, personally i organise in guild though as am not a fan of PUG’s.
if you are on far shiverpeaks, pm me you would be welcome to join us on a run
Hi Dufrense
you can do explore without doing story yep, if you have not done a dungeon before though i suggest you start with story mode as its much easier

pleasure, glad you found it
Hi Elowin
mistfire wolf is part of the digital deluxe/collectors edition, you can only get it by owning one of those. It doesn’t have anything to do with what race/class you choose
hope that helps, listed on the shop page for your ref

Hi Spiralrain
there is a little icon i think its on the left of the mini map which fixes it on north, therefore stopping rotation.
Cant check exactly where at present as away from my gaming pc, but its there somewhere
here you go, on the wiki is a complete list with the vendors name:

I’m sorry, that is FAR from complete.
See how the level of items don’t even reach 60?
The link for dulfy is exactly it though.
Thank you!
Valid point, hadn’t noticed that, glad you found your answer anyway
Nice work on the authenticator, couple of suggestions some of which have been mentioned above:
- let us select from a few options regarding not asking again for a period of time, suggest ‘every time’, ‘not for a week’ and ‘not for 30 days’ or similar.
- let us keep the new location email security as well if we choose to. Personally although the authenticator is more secure, i would also like to approve new IP location logins
- as cherry says above, please put the cursor in the box by default, only a minor thing
- please sort out the game so that it works with the mumble overlay, or give us some other way to launch the game with an authenticator so that the overlay works as well. Currently we have to choose between one or the other. Security first of course, but i miss my mumble overlay
Nice to see more security though, keep it up

Hi Morpeth
Sadly Bear is correct. The way it works is that a guild can exist on more than one server, therefore all your influence is server based, and you cannot actually move the guild itself (as it exists on all servers).
This means if you move servers, none of your upgrades etc will exist on the server you move to so you will have to start anew. This includes the bank as you will not even have a bank on the new server as it will not be researched.
Info above was taken from another post on the same topic, sorry i cant find it else i would link for you
Hi Rustler,
some good suggestions above. My personal experience: i have all classes and i swap around depending on my mood.
Necro and thief i have taken all the way to 80, necro is fun if you can accept a couple of bugs with minions, but if you are not a fan of DOT’s as you suggest, then probably not for you, at least not with a build like mine (which is condition based).
Thief i find great fun, and like striker says dont use shortbow. A lot of concentration is needed though to survive well in PvE, especially with a glass cannon build. Also they are not much use in WvW with builds like mine, however excel in sPVP.
Guardian and warrior are similar in playstyle, up close and personal, easy to pick up though. Perhaps not for you though if you are not a fan of going toe to toe with enemies.
Ele i wont comment on, personally not a fan.
So this leaves you with 3 classes. Ranger is fun, though i find a bit ‘samey’ myself, not sure why but just dont hold my attention for too long, its a nice distraction for an hour or so though.
So from what you say about your style of play, engineer or mesmer is probably for you. Engineer has lots of support options and survivability, or mesmer with GS and sw/pistol or staff again has quite a lot of survivability (though more squishy than engineer).
Hope my opinions help
Era
ah yes the ranger pets
one thing you mention though is the DE’s, personally i have noticed a lot lot less DE’s in the under 40 zones of late, but i believe they are partially based on number of people in the area. My guardian has done a lot less of these (which is my newest alt, just hitting 40) that may be something to do with it at least partially
on crafting i do a little, but tend to level what he can make with what i can use. i.e. he can craft 45 ish gear at present lvl 40. Are you crafting at all? you can easily grab a couple of levels there.
have you done any dungeons also? they are nice xp (drop some xp boosts as well). Also being in a guild that does xp/gather and such buffs helps i find
Hi TakaEagle
if you are finding yourself under levelled, i would suggest you go and do some areas of the other races of your level. I had this issue with my first toon, but once i started wandering other race’s areas i found being level appropriate much easier. Also make sure you participate in any events you see nearby, and try to complete maps, dailies and monthlies they help quite a bit.
As for time, my first 80 took me about 2 weeks (few hours in an evening, more at the weekends as i work for a living), my second took a little less than that probably as i knew where to go and when.
Hope that helps you
@the OP, fiennes nice you make this point, and nice to hear others taking notice. I have 2 level 80’s, and also level lower toons, and its a shame that a lot of 80’s i see running around in low level areas dont seem to be concerned about this.
Often with my alts, one or 2 level 80’s will wander into an event and i just leave as i know very well there is no way i can compete which spoils it for me. Also….. i would like to add that similar applies on some of the low level heart quests. If its a mob killing quest for example there will simply be NONE to kill (especially in some of them where the number of mobs is low to start with). So a little consideration would be appreciated I hope some people take this on board.
i personally rarely go to low level zones now on my 80’s for this reason unless im helping someone out, and if i do then i at least try to be considerate and note nuke everything in sight.
A little consideration that I show others would be appreciated in return
nope, afraid not. Salvaging the item is the only way I know of (and make sure you use a master or higher level kit, otherwise probability is low that you will get it)
Not a major glitch, but one i have noticed more recently.
If you are auto running, and click autorun again to stop. Whatever movement you press after this (autorun again, or WASD) often your character will glitch a little move into halfway through a run animation and not move.
You then have to release whatever movement you pressed, and press another movement key a couple of times before you can move freely again.
Mostly not much of an issue, but on occasion of you get caught by a mob whilst autorunning can be a more serious problem as you cannot dodge/move/etc whilst the mob merrily smites you.
if you are a glass cannon type of player, thief (full crit/power build) would suit you i would suggest. Hit like a truck, but you will get killed if you are ever hit
yea i dont believe pre-pay cards work (or vouchers etc) hence the question.
thanks though guys seems its a no go….. ill just have to make him take me to the pub instead ;p
and drevin/sparkie yep thanks for that suggestion, was simply trying to avoid the buy/sell/buy again loss which is accrued doing it like that
ill be at the bar
hi electricfate
as a solo player a lot of the time I understand your pain. To answer your question, no generally you cannot solo quite a few of them. Grab a buddy or two (or wait for other players to be around). They are not that hard generally for 3-4 people, but almost impossible solo
Hope that helps
Era
very quick question guys….. hope someone knows the answer
can you mail gems to someone using in game mail? A RL friend wants to buy me some for my birthday, and other than giving him my login details, there is no other way i can think of unless you can mail them to someone.
just wondered if anyone knew if there was an easy way to do so as they are not actually an ‘item’ as it were
thanks!
The problem isn’t the training mechanism.
It’s Orr with it’s “one mob for each square meter” density, coupled with their “I think I just saw something move across that planet” aggro distance.
lol made me smile, nice summation i cannot disagree.
yep same here again…………………………………………………
well its sad to see no reply, so here is my 2 pence…..personally i am playing with 2 builds at present, trying to decide myself
one build is 30 in deadly arts and acrobatics with the leftover 10 in critical strikes, the other is 30 in deadly arts and critical strikes and the leftover 10 in acrobatics.
I have played both builds quite a lot in sPVP and cannot make up my mind. less damage vs more hp or the other way around….
generally also i am d/d and sw/pistol with haste, signet of shadows, blinding powder and dagger storm on skills most of the time (though i am playing with more unusual skills as well).
what i will say is though tbh though other than some aoe like death blossom you are never going to be a huge ‘team’ player i find doing sPVP with guildmates (tournaments soon which is why we practice in sPVP). You simply do not have many support skills other than the AOE stealth and perhaps smoke screen (though i find that pretty much useless). As a class we are better off solo killing the runners, or taking one person out then running/stealthing.
My necro is much more ‘team supportive’, and as much as i have tried i simply cannot see how you can ever be that good as a support role/group role other than as i mention fast killing the weak/slow/running, we have little to offer to our teammates.
its sort of our job afterall as assassins, and if you are more a support person i would suggest (no offence meant) that thieves are not your class.
lets see others opinions and then maybe i shall change my mind, its just my opinion ofc
wow you want all armour clipping issues? seriously i dont think i have seen any armour pretty much that doesnt have issues with holstered clipping…..and i play almost all classes.
big list coming later when in game then

it is indeed a bug introduced in the last patch, i reported it a few days ago.
I am a leader of our guild, therefore have full permissions and we have researched the guild stash upgrade. Other non-officers can view the guild bank, but me and the other leader cannot as we are told by the guild bank NPC that ‘your guild has not researched blah blah’
update on Angels and Demons on Far Shiverpeaks [AnD]
add to our list, since the last patch now the leaders cannot access the bank, regular users can.
This applies in every city we have tried, and not in overflows.
Also research will only intermittently queue, often takes much relogging/re-zoning
personally I would like to see some more variation in the standard skins as well. Almost everything you pick up for example level 1-20 will be one of around 2 or 3 skins (horrible quilted medium jacket for example, thief mask or hood). Same i find applies all the way up to level 80, ignoring dungeon gear, there seems very few skins for me to make my character look how i want
yes the update 9/14 seems to have made this happen more, as well as the cutscene dialogues now missing which were fine before.
On a related note, you do seems to have fixed the distortion bug in cutscenes on logitech g930 headsets now
I saw a post about this a while ago and yes guilds can exist and be represented on multiple servers. Your influence is accrued for the server you are on.
Therefore in your case you have moved to another server, but you have not made any influence on that server so yes you have to research eveything again sadly
Not saying its right….. just telling you what i read from another thread (sorry cant remember which else i would link it)
Can someone explain to me what the purpose of NOT representing a guild is? I genuinely don’t know and I’m very curious as to why it’s even a feature. Is it because you can be in more than one guild at a time? (Something I still don’t see why you would want, I’d rather be able to have different guilds on alts or be guildless etc.)
It is indeed as you think, you can have multiple guilds attached to your account therefore you can represent one guild on one day or one toon, and another on another day/toon.
Personally I never have a need to do so, but you can
AH! i thought this was just me….. I dont suffer with the static issue but i do have the distorted bass, specifically on voices in cutscenes. I have been tinkering with all sorts of settings to try and stop it, but even when i drop the volume right down, it still distorts
Mine is a G930 as well, hope it helps
Just a suggestion. I and some others I know prefer to buy stuff with real money (gems and then items bought with gems) on a website.
I have no issue with the in game system, but some of us would like this ability so we can buy stuff before we get in game and then spend our game time playing. Especially useful when at work or such, then the items are ready waiting for me when i log in
just an idea, and afterall im sure you will make more money if you were to do so
agreed entirely. Although I will get around to it i’m sure, a lot of my guild are not 80 yet and i prefer to run dungeons with friends.
I was like others very disappointed, and as the rest is entirely solo-able it doesn’t make sense imo.
ah wasnt aware movement speed was reduced in combat, seems rather strange behaviour to me…
thanks for your reply though
An observation I cannot seem to find another post about.
The minions for necros seem to slow down your run speed. For example, running along and my stupid flesh golem goes off and attacks something (i know its stupidity at attacking targets at will has been mentioned on other posts).
When this happens, my run speed appears to slow down by i guess 10%, its hard to quantify, but you feel like you are tethered to the beastie. If the minion dies then you speed back up again.
Anyone else experience this?
Could be that it is the same with other minions, but its more noticeable with the flesh golem probably because he is always wandering off attacking for no reason.
I’m sorry you guys are having trouble partying! Can you specify if you’re having trouble with dungeons, or just regular overflow maps? Also, are you just not seeing the “Join in” option when right-clicking their party UI? Or are you receiving a particular error?
We want you guys to be able to play together. Any additional information could be very helpful!
Thank you for your understanding.
thanks for the reply Allie
this certainly seems to have got better, although not idea still.
To answer your question: both. Attempting to join on overflow maps often either the option is not there, or if it is, you select join and nothing happens (no errors, just nothing).
The dungeon instancing was as described in my original post, again no errors just people ending up in wrong instances alone or similar. I saw in some patch notes that you believe this is fixed now, but we have not tested yet so i shall post back once we have.
Thanks
Era
Ok I know its being worked on to a degree, but its a major bug at least to us. This is a MMO afterall therefore grouping with friends is one of the main reasons for playing
We simply cannot reliably group, or at least not without spending a LONG time trying to do so. Then even if we do so, we are then split again entering an instance for example.
This means we have generally given up trying to do so, its simply too painful. I dont think Anet you perhaps appreciate how painful so let me give you an example
The other night, we decide to do the lvl 30 instance. Heres how it went:
Create the group, go to the same area.
Some in overflow, some not, click join member on one member, 2 managed to do this, other 2 nothing happens when clicked.
2 members that couldnt do so, relog.
2 members try again to join the other 3, one doesnt have the option, the other doesnt work
person with no option relogs, person 2 keeps retrying eventually gets to the party.
relogged person retrys for about 10 mins, leaving party, rejoining party etc eventually whole party together! (about half an hour has elapsed by this time)
ok, person 1 enters instance, 2 other members get prompted to enter, other 2 do not so they just go through the entrance.
1 person is alone in one instance, 1 person cannot get into the instance, 3 people are together in another instance
ok solo person leaves, person stuck outside relogs.
2 outside enter again, they are now in an instance on their own, other three are in another instance
2 people leave, try ‘join person’ cannot do so
i shall not continue but we end up back outside multiple times, split up again over overflows, in wrong instances, cannot join party etc etc. it took us about 1hr probably more to just get the group in the same instance. At which time we were all at the point of saying this just aint worth it and giving up
Thought i would point out just how bad it is out there……. i am sure others have the same or even worse experiences.
Have to agree on the wait times being far too long. We have a party or two in guild that want to go to WvW together, but so far we have never managed to get more than 2 of us in at once (regardless of area).
Also please if the game crashes or you do a quick logoff/logon (often has to be done because of other bugs) dont cancel the queuing! Please at least add a little timer so that if you do have to restart and reconnect, if its less than say 30 secs you maintain your queue position
Also some ‘you are at position x in queue’ would at least give people an idea of how long they have to wait
