I just got the same message about needing to remove restrictions within 72 hours. Mine came from pandasinpajamas. A quick google search brought me to pandasinpajamas.6784, who apparently hasn’t posted on here in a year or so. I’m sorry people are losing their accounts to these bots.
That video’s great. And about what he revealed at about 18:45 in the video, the thing you can find in GW2? If you go looking for it, careful not to get stuck. It’s definitely not ready for people to be climbing around in yet. I thought I was just following the path of the rocks, since they kind of circle, but then I got stuck in glitched out map. I found a forum from 2012 talking about it, so I assume it’s one of those things to expand on that’s been there since launch.

So, as someone who has yet to play GW1, I’ve always wondered what the rock behind Queen Jennah’s throne is. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/6/68/Queen%27s_Throne_Room.png
The wiki says it’s thought to be the bloodstone from Bloodstone Fen. Is Divinity’s Reach built into the shape of that symbol? If so, does Jennah know something about the bloodstones? Some knowledge passed down, I don’t know.
Why not just have a piggy back feature so you can jump on your friend with the greatest speed boosts? I can see it now, a char mesmer on an asuran guardian, running free across the plains.
This game has enough asthetic things that drain my time and funds completely. I don’t need something else just to be able to get to events fast enough before some group that has the best mounts on day one gets there and clears everything.
It looks like when they start to carve a face into a mountain and it’s just a very basic form so far.
As soon as Belinda’s boss made her and Marjory split up, I knew one of those sisters wasn’t going to make it home. The too sweet giant little sister seemed the more likely option.
That said, it’s still sad. I don’t even like Marjory (she could say ONE SENTENCE normally, you know? Not everything has to be that dramatically spoken.) but this was sad.
I have an obsession with jump puzzles. Just ask my guild leader after I dragged him through about 12.
However, I STRONGLY agree that they should not be part of LS or dependent on any crystals with timers or spinny gears throwing you across gaps (I’m looking at you, Not So Secret). I thought the Stepping Stones puzzle pushed it too far with having to have perfect timing on the entire first half just to have a chance, but if those stones drop then you’re done.
And dive spots? I just had to make sure it was an LS achievement and not linked in with the explorer achievement for getting all the dive locations. I glare at that 37/38 every day since they added that Aetherblade puzzle. I could probably get it after several tries, but climbing and having to fight my entire way up EACH TIME just isn’t worth it to me.
I remember reading a post a while back from someone who has MS who loves Taimi because she feels like she’s represented in game.
I don’t have to deal with anything like that myself, but I don’t see Taimi as offensive. If it’s the way she limps that people don’t like, that’s just because ANet used the same injured stagger they use on anyone. Our own characters do it. I think they should create a walk specifically for her, but by not using the generic thing that’s already in game, they’ll just make more people mad because it was too much, not correct, whatever.
I like Taimi. I think she’s cool. I like most Asuran kids because they’re smart and witty but not completely full of themselves yet like many of the adults are. She’s nice, she’s helpful, she’s a genius (obviously). I think her Scarlet obsession will get her in trouble that may cost her life or her morals, but I think she’s one of the best NPCs they’ve added to the story in a long time.
As someone addicted to jump puzzles, I hope that there IS a new one. But nothing obvious or mandatory for LS achievements or gimmicky like the last 3 have been (I count the Stepping Stones ones as gimmicky since your timing has to be perfect the entire way through or you fail and start over, yet it doesn’t depend on YOUR timing, it depends on the stones not lagging+timing). I want one added to the main ones, where you could walk past it 50 times before you realize there’s a gap in those rocks.
That being said, I might be avoiding main chat for a while, so this should be interesting.
Also if there’s a pet dragon three pack, I’m going to wet myself. I’ve wanted a dragon pet since I first saw the Shatterer in the game trailers.
“…bonuses to Toughness, Healing, and Vitality.”
It’s nice that they’re focusing on building up healers, but that also makes me a little worried. I’m not exactly the best in this game, so it’s going to take me a while to get these new achievements. Maybe I should focus on a healing build?
Ele moves around a lot if you use the right weapons. Daggers, I think, have you all over the place. They do make you feel powerful, but unless you build them just right, they tend to be pretty squishy. (Have a level 80 ele, but it was one of my first maxed out characters, so a lot has probably changed.)
Mesmers can be pretty squishy at times too, but I think they’re much easier to solo with. Since you can build up tons of clones of yourself, you basically build your own line of defense. They can use more weapons, but they don’t really move much from skills alone.
I personally prefer mesmer since I solo most of the time and needed to be able to defend myself better. Also I love purple, and once I saw that hovering greatsword as the main attack, I couldn’t resist.
I’m pretty poor in game, too, but I have to agree that I deserve to be. I’m no good at PvP or WvW and don’t put the time in to get better. I know very little about playing the market, so of course I’m not going to make money from it. As for going out and farming resources, the ones who make it their job and do so for hours (bots excluded, screw those guys) are the ones who’ll make money off it.
However, I would love for there to be some kind of reward for completing all the jump puzzles. Not a precursor or anything, but maybe some of the harder to obtain stuff toward legendaries or ascended gear, like a stack of empyreal fragments or 10 icy runestones.
Those may have been there since launch, but so have a lot of extra doors and places where portals could easily go. There’s even a portal at the top of the Brisban Wildlands map that can’t be reached. There’s a nice picture of it here:
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/74779-a-portal-that-is-inaccessible/
I’m pretty sure the devs have said before that these are for future expansions, so the fort could be where we head out to the new jungle.
I’m thinking this is why the new character slots were on sale. I bought one just in case a new class or something gets introduced, but it’s just as good for doing story line again and getting missed skins.
Get friends or guild mates to help you through it quickly, then delete the character and do it again. Once a skin’s unlocked, you don’t lose it just because the character that unlocked it is gone.
THIS ISN’T MINE, and I’ll pull it if the character owner wants me too, but it was the first thing I saw that made me think the zodiac armor wasn’t too specific to go with anything else.
If those were numbered:
1 2
3 4
Then I recognize a couple things.
In 1, the pants look like they’re from the cook’s outfit. The top in 3 definitely is (and shoes? ankle bark?), or is very similar. The gloves in 2 might be that. I think the boots in 2 are close to one of the cultural armors, where it’s just vines around the ankles. Same for the gloves in 1.
As for image 4, that’s one of those wandering traders, isn’kitten I have been wanting that outfit since I first noticed one of them walking across my screen. I would pay gems for that. At least the top (probably prefer it with pants, personally).
I don’t see anything there about why some are tonics and others aren’t. I do like the promise of more outfits over the summer though. The new armor sets have been weird (not bad, just not to my tastes), so I know the outfits should at least be fun.
I just miss dying my hoodie…
I posted before/after patch pics. The first one, I just HATE that hat. I’m willing to forgive that though, since I can still dye it (even if I can’t dye the pieces separately >.<) and my back item now shows up with the outfit. I really wish I could still mix up the pieces, but eh.
The second pic, I’m torn. They actually kept my outfit exactly as I had it just through the hoodie alone. I’m ecstatic about that. The fact that it’s all neutral browns now and I can’t get that awesome neon lining like I did, I’m just sad about that.
I guess I just hope for the tonic outfits to someday be turned into outfits so we can at least dye them. That’d be good enough for me.

I’m pretty sure yes. When using a legendary or ascended skin on another item, you should get the full effects, just not the stats.
Here is a summary of all concept art of new legendaries they are working on:
so beautiful TuT
I think they’ll release the new list and how to get them on the 15th. That’s just a few more days, so til then I’d say stock up on T6 mats, ectoplasm, icy runestones, and gold, and maybe expand some crafting disciplines if you need to.
No need to stock up on icy runestones…..
No, just reminding that there’s another 100G you need.
I’m in Indiana, just a few hours ahead of Arenanet, I think. I always hope that these patches will go up at their midnight, since I mainly play after work and I don’t get home until 11:30pm my time. It seems more like they get them up around 2pm their time, which is a weird choice and mid-afternoon for someone who’s pretty close to their own time. That said, I have to work today anyway and would have been shocked if it was up before I left.

So what if I have 11,600 now?
…and again there will be no more reward chests once you get to 10,000?
Wiki shows up to 24,500 so far. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_rewards
Most of my characters are Sylvari, purely because of the glow option. I love having that second color there, especially with how bright some of them get.
For hair streaks, what if they released some helmets that had custom hairstyles with them? They could be skins that can apply to any armor type and have pigtails in gears or some other random things purely to show how people would try to be stylish, not just tough looking, in Tyria. Then the streaks and hair color would be two of the dye slots and you wouldn’t be stuck with just a couple choices.
They could even have a design contest for this to really get people involved. (I just love seeing the stuff people come up with in design contests >.>)
I’ve only put a few hundred gold worth of exotic weapons into the forge, but the best thing I got back was worth about 9 gold. Yay.
One of my guild mates has gotten precursors twice with not much more of an investment, but I think he was lying about the first one (don’t know, just hope he was). I was there when he got the second.
I’m new to the game and I for one had no idea about the living story cycle thingy. I wasn’t able to log in to the game around the time the merchants got removed so I am too loaded with heirlooms. Maybe I’m just too slow for this game.
Late response, but I tend to forget to check on threads I post in.
I doubt you’re too slow for this game. This is the first time they’ve removed an NPC without announcing in several places, or everyone talking about it constantly in-game. That’s why everyone’s upset about it. It was posted, but in one spot and no one spoke of it. As long as you read the news updates on the launcher and pay attention to chatter, you should be fine. If there’s something like this that deals with the event’s drop items, ask around for when it will be removed if you can’t find it.
I love this idea. The only difference in the orders that I noticed (other than story) is some NPC dialogue and that locked house if you’re Whispers. That house was enough to make me love the Order of Whispers, but it’s such a small thing and nothing really comes of it. If there were more things like that, along with quests or achievements or something to make you want to go look for them/do whatever, I’d fall in love with this game all over again.
Actually, I think the achievements thing could work. The game doesn’t really do quests, and they probably won’t expand on story or add anything like hearts for Orders, but if a new line of achievements unlocked when you choose your order, that’d be amazing. I’d have at least one character in each order just to see what all of that includes for each.
Why more nerfs? I say up the damage of the other builds and we’ll all be kicking butt
Preordering a game for beta access would be a leap of faith. Buying a game over 1.5 years after release is only a leap of faith if the person insist on not looking.
Not really. Buying anything without trying it is somewhat a leap of faith, even if you read up on it. Were I to go buy a new car, even having read reviews on performance/handling/comfort, etc, I’m not going to go buy one without test driving it first. This is the same sort of idea; just looking isn’t the same as experiencing.
Except with livestreams, all the videos of gameplay, etc, there’s plenty out there to give you a decent idea whether you might have an interest or not. Find someone livestreaming who does requests and ask them to check out different stuff in game.
Now if only those vote for <redacted> buttons would be included in that, too. Not that you really got rewards for them in the first place, but somehow I’m still hanging on to a nearly full stack.
The rates of conversion are:
1:1 Crystals (The 79 and lower Transmutes)
3:1 Stones (The 80 Transmutes)
5:1 Splitters[Edit]: So if you have 100 crystals, 50 stones, and 5 splitters, you’ll end up with 275 Transmutation charges.
100 Crystals = 100 Charges
50 Stones = 150 Charges
5 Splitters = 25 ChargesYou have the crystals and stones the wrong way around. Crystals are for level 80 gear and have a conversion rate of 1:1 with suggests that the Stones (being the lesser version) rate of 3:1 is also the opposite way around to what you’ve said. so 50 stones will infact only give you 16 charges.
Where was that said? That contradicts what I’ve seen/read elsewhere…
1:1 Stones (The 79 and lower Transmutes)
3:1 Crystals (The 80 Transmutes)
5:1 Splitters
100 Stones = 100 Charges
50 Crystals = 150 Charges
5 Splitters = 25 Charges[/quote]
There, fixed, and still equals 275.
I’d like it to be removing weapon/class restrictions, but I know WAY too much would have to go into that to happen any time soon. I just really want to be an elementalist with a longbow. It’d be so cool.
What they could do for items like the monocle, breather, dragon helm, etc, is have them all unlock when you get one. People that already have them for more than one weight class will have the same issue as people who’ve bought multiples of the same gem outfits, but it’d make the most sense.
I can only hope that the air rider package, originally without a shirt piece, will include the hoodie that I (and apparently a ton of people, according to the images that pop up when googling “gw2 air rider outfit”) love with that set.
As much as this is already messing with the in-game market, I doubt this is a joke. (cheapest dyes have gone from 1.8 silver to 22 silver for example)
As for what they might do as a joke? Announce the Tengu as playable. It’s the only thing I can think of that people have been pining over since I’ve joined this game that hasn’t been talked about directly by devs yet. (though I really hope a city of theirs or something joins the map soon)
I just want to know why, in a game that started out and is becoming more and more about looking how you want, they would take away a HUGE customization factor. It’s their decision how to do this, a town clothes have always been a bit of a waste since there was hardly an occasion to wear them, but to make some tonics is strange, and combine the rest into one piece sets seems to go against what the rest of this update is trying to accomplish. I don’t know what goes into building these games, but maybe when the made the wardrobe, the had to cut down on a few things to make it all fit into one update? Rather than get rid of anything, they just combined the ones that made sense?
Having said that, I will definitely miss wearing my santa hat with the witch’s outfit, but since new hairstyles have been released, I think I’ll be fine.
I’m really going to miss mix and matching town clothes… I bought the witches outfit the first time around, but can’t stand the hat. Put the Christmas hat with it, looks fantastic if I do say so. (img 1) And my adventure-Sylvari-I-don’t-know-what (img 2) made the weirdly poofed pants ok. Also, I love the crap out of that hoodie, but if it’s a tonic that I can’t put with the rest of those items, I doubt I’ll even remember it exists, let alone want to use it. Putting it on a female Sylvari will probably default a skirt, too. I can’t stand skirts in real life and try to avoid them in game.
I love the idea of equipping the kits in some other way besides giant bags covering your entire back and ruining any effect or item you might have there.
I found this while googling the issue: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/suggestions/My-engineer-back-items-and-kits-solution/first#post2787750
Don’ t know about you guys, but I love it. Like some futuristic fanny pack that leaves your back free.
Seems like the people having issues forgot about this now, but I got an email asking me to rate GW2 support and I know stuff like this is important to a company, so I’ll post as much info as I can.
I’m using Firefox 20.0.1, but I read that other people are having the issue on Chrome.
There’s no error message. The “Good, I’m satisfied” and “Bad, I’m unsatisfied” buttons seem clickable, but when I hover over them they just show the address of the current page and don’t do anything when clicked. There’s nothing else on the page except the usual links at the bottom. I’ll include a screenshot here to show what I’m looking at. I cropped it to hide my ticket info but left the ticket number on there.
And just because I have no other way to submit it right now, I’ll say here that I am satisfied with support. They responded faster than I expected them to, and even though I realized almost immediately that the issue was caused by my own stupidity and I panicked before noticing nothing was actually wrong that wasn’t easily fixed, they emailed me just to show that they got the ticket and were making sure all was well. Most companies ignore you as soon as you say everything’s fine.
But that map marked with all the crosses doesn’t look like anywhere in the game.
Red dirt on the left, snow on the right, grassy hills at the top, water and dark rocks to the south…
If you zoom out far enough, that’s the full map. Snow to the right, red desert type to the far left, as far to the left as you can go. There’s actually more out there than what’s shown in that picture.
I just trashed the gifts once I knew what they were. Neat, but not worth my time once I’d seen it.
You could try to look at it more as the pre- and post-searing in GW1, but more merged. New players would come in to see Orr with new growth and NPCs working on restoring the old places, while the storyline would be like flashbacks to how it was before. I don’t think they’d have to change much, players would just look at it differently.
They mentioned in some other forum post a while back that those were goals, not promises. Apparently they need to learn how to word things.
I think they intend to get more of those in by the end of next year, if not all, but this might be wishful thinking on my part.
Am I the only one who sees a dragon in those dots?
I tried to draw out what I see, but I really can’t draw dragons.
I think it’s either them upgrading/doing an event with another dragon, doing something with Teq (they talked about him a lot at PAX, from what I hear, could be wrong) or they’re going to introduce a new dragon. I really hope it’s that last one.
http://gw2dragons.com/temple/of/balthazar
That site seems pretty good. When a server has balthazar open, the server name will appear along with a small flag representing what region it’s for. It doesn’t say when the server opened, but I’ll usually keep it running alongside GW2 and refresh just before guesting. I’ve had a server close just as I was running toward the NPC because of this, but that at least showed me there wasn’t really a lag issue with the site because I refreshed after that happened and within seconds it showed the server had closed.
Edit: And I just noticed this site’s been talked about in this forum before. Sorry. It is worth looking at though.
I got it!! Proof that this is attack is completely broken:
http://youtu.be/BfnKq_PlXUc (1080 avail)Did you blink and miss it? It happened Everytime the Subjugator blew its horn.
If it was atleast a 1 second cast, I would have interrupted him EASILY & saved the Pact.
This goes directly against their standards on Telegraphing the biggest attacks. They HAVE TO CHANGE IT NOW.
…Or they have to atleast explain to us why this case is somehow “Special”.
You and your party members, along with everyone else who’s been trying to figure this out, are awesome for sticking with this and finding the cause. It seems like as soon as their morale starts to fall, you know the event’s doomed.
Hopefully now they’ll actually fix this issue or at least make a way around it. I’d been saving up karma for a while so I could buy the rest of my obsidian shards in one trip, and right when I get enough is when this started. Literally same day.
I haven’t been able to invite people to a party for about a week unless I add them as a friend first. Then, for some reason, the option shows up when I right click their name.
And I barely play WvW, so I know I wasn’t in there at the time.
Also, tons of bugs have been around since the start that they haven’t even commented on. Don’t know why. Guess they’re just more concerned about spewing tons of content no one expected or even really wants half the time instead of fixing major issues.
Whats the point of the first line .. “As a programmer and a Lifelong Gamer & working at the moment as part of community team on another MMO” .. Does this mean that Anet has to listen to you now ? They do fix bugs, they just dont reply on them, how annoying it may seem,i can actually for a fact show you they Do listen to bug reports.
Fixed 23 days later ago.
etc etc
They just dont have the time to give a reply on every bug report…You as a programmer and a lifelong gamer Cough must surely understand this right ?The only thing i would like to see is a confirmation of the bug and a reply that it’s being send to the development team so no double/triple posts of the same bug are being made.
A way to keep out multiple posts of the same problem would be nice. I don’t know if it’s me, but I’ve never gotten the search function for this forum to work.
The thing is, if they take the time to fix an error, they can take a couple seconds to post “Fixed”. That’s all we need. Even if it takes a while to show up in game, users can tell other users to be patient, when it’s in affect, etc. We just need one little word from someone acknowledging that it was dealt with.
