I just encountered this bug while working on Astralaria III: The Mechanism. The item I need is “Elder Dragons and Star Navigation Theories Vol. III”. I’m on NA, and the map IP is 64.25.38.106:0. I tried to re-log and see if I could get put into a different IP, but no luck.

I was hoping to complete this collection before I go away on vacation for over a week in a few days, bummer. Crossing my fingers the event is un-bugged by next weekend.

I agree that getting the piranha to the cat can be super frustrating, but there are a few things that may make it easier:

-Clear the path to the pagoda/gong building beforehand. Not having to worry about assassins or frogs is nice.
-Every few seconds, drop the fish and hit it to pick it back up. Don’t wait for it to leap out of your hands and cause knockback. Better safe than sorry, especially on the pillar jumps. Two-three jumps, drop fish, hit, repeat. I know you mentioned this already, just reiterating it.
-Climb around the outside of the pagoda building instead of fiddling with moving around dart traps on the inside. You can interact with the cat through the wall.

It took me about an hour from the very start of the zone to get the cat. Not the most fun thing to do, but kind of fitting for a SAB-themed cat imo.

One of the new achievements for Head of the Snake is to stop White Mantle and skritt from stealing supplies from a wrecked ship. I just completed the event without any supplies being stolen by the White Mantle, but the achievement in my hero panel does not reflect that (it’s still greyed out). Also, I’ve been camping by the wrecked ship for a few hours and have yet to see any skritt attempt to steal supplies, it’s only been the White Mantle thus far. Unless there are other events I’ve yet to experience that lead to skritt stealing supplies?

Edit: Apparently the skritt event only happens when the White Mantle have control of Saidra’s Haven. As the map is so populated right now, I guess that’s why that part of the achievement is a no-go.

Also, after trying for the White Mantle part of the achievement a few more times, I think the event has some scaling/spawn issues. Even with just a few players (less than 10), champs start to spawn frequently. Pretty soon there are 5 or 6 champs trying to make off with supplies at the same time, but not enough players to really do anything about it before the supplies are gone.

tl;dr The event scales too high and too fast, with too many enemies to successfully complete the event without any supplies being stolen. And even if you do happen to successfully complete the event, it may not count for the achievement.

Yes. The breastplates look completely out of place on female Charr and Asura.

Someone on the subreddit said it best: One of the best parts of PvE in this game is the fact that collectible/harvesting items are an instance and not competitive.

I’ve done the Priory event a few times, picking up only one ley energy each time. And that was only because they spawned right where my character happened to be standing and no one else was around.

I don’t really understand why it needs to be so competitive.

Edit: I imagine it must be super frustrating if you’re trying to do this with a high ping.

Edit x2: Just did an event and wasn’t able to pick up a single ley energy. And the event was over within a minute. Fun. Hope these events stick around for a while so I can get ’em a shot without so many people around to compete with.

Having the same issue. I can do everything else fine online except for play GW2, my internet is fine. Frequent disconnects in the game. This issue seemed to randomly crop up yesterday afternoon out of nowhere.

I’m also having a lot of issues with lag, where everything seems to stop for up to a minute, any skills I use don’t work (just flash), no characters move. Then all of a sudden everything happens all at once. It makes leveling very hard. I’m using the 64-bit client on Windows 10, if that helps.

I googled this but didn’t see anything more recent than a year ago.

The Wreath of Cooperation is my favorite head piece, I absolutely love it and many of my characters are wearing it. Lately, though, it’s begun to stretch out when my character runs. I noticed three days ago when I did the Arah story on a character wearing it (didn’t get any good screenshots), and I noticed it again today on a different character (got a screenshot this time).

In the thread I found from a year ago, someone mentioned switching to the lowest graphics preset and back to the highest would fix it, but it does nothing. The wreath still distorts when my character runs even on the lowest graphics settings. It’s disappointing as it looks so weird, but I love it when it’s static/moves normally.

Is this a known issue? Something on my end causing it?

This achievement is still bugged as of yesterday. I nor anyone in my party got the achievement despite standing inside the abom’s corpse until it despawned. This is the only achievement I’m missing from the Triple Trouble meta and it’s been exceedingly frustrating. I’ve tried on organized maps and empty maps. I’ve not used CC (a common thing I’ve heard that can trigger, or rather, not trigger the achievement). Nothing works.

Please, Anet, please look into fixing this.

Sorry if this isn’t in the right area, I wasn’t sure where it would best fit. I Google’d and didn’t see any recent topics about this.

I recently went to go purchase $20 in gems via PayPal, and noticed there was a $1.20 tax on top of the purchase. I don’t ever remember being taxed before. The last time I purchased gems was a few weeks ago. I recently had to close my bank account and create a new one, so I can’t go back in my online banking and check for sure. But I do know that I always marked it down as an even $10 or $20, as that extra little bit would have thrown everything off and I would have noticed if there was a tax before.

So, is this a new thing within the past few weeks/month? It’s just a little bit extra and I don’t mind, but I’m just wondering why all of a sudden there’s a tax.

I would buy this outfit in a heartbeat if there was an option to hide the shoulders. They’re just far too puffy for my liking and turn off the whole outfit for me. So, yes, I support having an option to hide shoulders for outfits.

Here’s a little pic spam of my Reaper main, Neyrilla. She got a makeover yesterday (her skin used to be a greenish shade and it always bugged me compared to her purple outfit and Mawdrey) so I’m a bit obsessed. I was going for a “snow covered flower” kind of look. I especially love how she looks at night.

Yes, I already read through the wiki page. But there was disparity between the Koutalophile page (“NPCs in WvW”), the siege commander’s spoon page (a few select enemies), and Dulfy’s guide (“Drops from WvW/EoTM from NPCs (guards etc)”). I just wanted to make sure and ask other players who have gotten the spoon drop, and to get a concise answer of “yes, EotM” or “no, go here instead”. Hence this topic.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I haven’t seen any scouts or lords in EotM but maybe I haven’t been paying enough attention. It’s usually just vets and champs. Anyway, I’ll keep at it there and hopefully the spoon will drop eventually.

I’m a few mastery points short so I decided to go through some of what looked like the easier ones to get, namely Koutalophile. I already have the bone and fractal spoons, the rest seem okay, but I’m a bit confused on the siege commander’s spoon.

I’m new to WvW and just spent a few hours in the Edge of the Mists hoping for the spoon to drop. According to the wiki it drops from NPCs in WvW, but I was just wondering if there was an “ideal” place to spend my time waiting for it to drop? EotM? EB? Borderlands? Specific enemies to focus on? Most of the topics about this are over a year old, so I’m not sure if things have changed since then in terms of drop rate, etc.

(again, new to WvW so pardon if I sound clueless)

Re: Crystal Healing Denier

After someone else in this thread mentioned getting credit for destroying a healing crystal when their pet attacked it, I played as my druid during the most recent Shatterer battle (ended just a few minutes ago) and can confirm that I DID indeed get credit for the one crystal I and my pet attacked when my pet was aggressive.

Just thought it was worth mentioning.

I haven’t seen anyone else bring this up, so it may very well be a “me” problem and not a bug, but: I’ve been stuck at 6/10 on the Crystal Healing Denier achievement for the Shatterer for the past three days now. I’ve done the Shatterer battle at least twice a day, and destroy at least three crystals per battle. Break the bar, attack the crystal, it’s destroyed, and my count is still at 6/10. The six that I have managed to do were while I was on a mortar the first two days after the patch, if that helps at all.

Am I just not destroying the crystals fast enough? Is there anything else that could be the culprit? All the guides I’ve read simply say to break the bar and tag the crystals, which is what I’ve been doing. I’m looking for any and all suggestions and welcome them with open arms, because I’m getting just a tad bit discouraged at this point.

Edit: Fought Shatterer once again, destroyed four crystals, still at 6/10. Fun.

Find a map that does not have the “Rescue the villagers and defeat harpy kidnappers” event active (this event is bugged and cannot be completed). Wait around the village and eventually the event “Defeat the kidnapping harpies before they reach the cliffs” will start. It’s an easy event, finish it and you will be awarded the trophy.

That’s what I had to do because the rescue event would stall and could not be completed. At least there’s a secondary option, just gotta be patient and get on a good map. Good luck!

if you do the fractals out of numerical order that happens, to get to 20 you would have to do level 19 then 20 again or do 20 two times.

Ahh, that explains it. I did bounce around while I was doing them, so I’ll just do 19 and 20 again. Thanks!

I’m pretty new to fractals, and just a few moments ago I completed the Casual Fractal Hero achievement, doing each fractal 1-20. I went to go use the LFG tool to see if I could find a group for 21 and saw I was unable to select the 21-50 category as my Personal Fractal Level is at 19.

I was just wondering if that was correct, and how to increase my personal level so I can continue with fractals level 21 and onward?
