I have been away for quite sometime, I am curious what some of the more viable PvE builds are for Engineers are now.
Thanks!
I stopped playing towards the end of the Molten Alliance event, I am curious if any serious changes have happened with Engineers, its always been my favorite class and would consider coming back if they improved them.
I play a hybrid build now from a full condition and love it. Still completing the ascended gear but its amazing. I can pull 10k+ hits on my axe and still stack 15 bleeds at 105-138 on my own. It’s full Rampgers with all stat ascended gear.
Rings should be able to break down to Shards, Globs, Vials, depending on RNG and Quality, Infused Rings can do Shards and Globs, regular rings can do Globs and Vials.
I wish level was account wide, at least the reward. I would love to take my engineer through level 10, since he has no AR currently, but I know the fights well enough to survive a 10, and get him a levels, but not getting the daily chest makes it not worth the time, when I have limited time.
It is a dungeon, it should count, agree 100%
I have bad RNG, got a Ring on my first 10, first 20 got a skin, first 26 got my first infused ring, and my first 30 another infused ring, over 400 fractals done almost all evens and dailies only, and yet to get a ring I could use or a skin(I am a necro and got harpoon gun skin)
Are these working correctly after the patch, didnt notice any notes about them, has anyone had a chance to test, Giver weapons, Runes of Nightmare, Lyssa, etc.
So I ended up with the 10 points in Soul Reaping, but chnaged the runes out for 1 Krait, 1 Necro, 4x Mad King. Gives me a bit more power than the old setup but gives me a bit longer duration on all conditions as well, along with giving me 98% on Bleeds, it seemed like a perfect fit.
I am a fan of the changes into soul reaping. A few questions since I have not had a chance to try this build yet.
Does reapers might grant a stack per cast or per hit?
Why did you choose runes of the engineer? Verse runes of the undead?
Does terror still apply damage to champions and legendary monsters that have the defiant buff and cannot be feared? They would take the damage but not run in fear.
I know you mentioned condition removal as a possible option but between Dagur four and he’ll I feel like that should cover most cases.
I have watched several videos and read a few guides, and this is the build I walked away with
Just looking for any tweaks you would consider especially in armor and runes.
I have been a conditionmancer since I started my necro and considering changing up to hybrid. So before I dropped the 20ish gold on gear was curious how people like the 20/30/0/0/20 build?
Considered making one of the cheap legendaries as well but worried if it would sell or not for a large enough profit to make gathering again worth while for my own.
I could only manage to buy 1 or 2 of the lower less sought after precursor and didn’t seem like the best investment if they didn’t resell.
I was lucky enough to get a precursor drop and sold it for a bit of gold. Prior to this I had been flipping small items like runes and some cooking materials. However I now have quite a bit more gold to work with and was curious on some things that might be worth watching to flip. Doesn’t have to be specific items just general ideas.
Thanks.
Are there any good PvE builds revolving around Chill?
Anyone know on runes if its a tooltip error not listing properly but applies the correct effects?
Just craft 40 of the lowest tiered insignia, or you can craft 20 along with armor to go with them at higher levels to progress your tailoring.
I have leveled 3 characters to 80 now, and can complete it in around 30 hours. It may not be the fastest but what I usually do is the following.
Complete starter zone, do your story as level allows, crafting at certain level ranges(craft from 20-30 and 70-80), zone completeing each zone that your personal story send you to.
That usually has me zone complete 3-4 zones, get to about 50-60 range on personal story, have cooking 400, by far cheapest and easiest to level, along with jewel crafting if this is your first character.
I just run Urmogs Secret in the back of the cave at LA, its quick takes under a minute if you dont fall, done it several times.
I plan to mostly run it in PvE.
How exactly are they broken currently? Not showing properly or acting properly? Lyssa run about 2g each right now, and Nightmare requires a bit of farming so very curious before I dust her off and start a grind up.
Runes seem off. I’d suggest 2x Krait (15% Bleed Duration), 2x Affliction (15% Bleed Duration) and 2x Mad King (10% Condition Duration). Otherwise you can consider 6x Undead to capitalise on your Toughness (bonus Condition Damage equal to 5% Toughness).
For utilities, I’m using Grenade Kit, Bomb Kit and Tool Kit, with Kit Refinement. Fire Bomb and Smoke Bomb pulse once per second and each pulse is considered an explosion, triggering things like Shrapnel and Steel-packed Powder, as well as on-hit effects. Bomb Kit and Tool Kit also allow me to combo Concussion Bomb into Pry Bar into Static Shot for 12-14 stacks of Confusion on a single target.
I considered the 2×2×2 runes, its similar to what my Necro currently uses, though he uses Centaur in place of Mad King.
My thought behind choosing all Condition Duration runes was to improve the number of stacks of all conditions, not just bleeds. The problem I see with your set of runes is on Bleeds, you are over the 100% Cap, 15(rune) +15(rune) +10(rune) +30(traits) +40(food) for a total of 110% on bleeds, while under the cap on all other conditions, while only at 90% for all other conditions, burning, confusion, poison, chill.
You should be able to walk away with
Bleeds
Explosive Shot – 4s
Superior Sigil of Earth – 10s
Shrapnel Grenade – 24s
Box of Nails – 4s
Shrapnel – 24s
Sharp Shooter – 6s
Poison
Poison Dart Volley – 4s per hit
Poison Grenade – 5s
Confusion
Static Shot – 6s
Concussion Bomb – 10s
Pry Bar – 10s
Burn
Blowtorch – 4s + .8s from Napalm Specialist
Fire Bomb – 4s + .8s from Napalm Specialist
Incendiary Powder – 4s + .8s from Napalm Specialist
Chill
Freeze Grenade – 4s per Hit
Vulnerability
Steel Packed Powder – 10s per hit
Precise Sights – 6s
Solo -
Open with Chill so all 3 hit assuming no wild grenades, giving 12s + possible bleeds and burn for each crit, Sharpnel Grenade for at least 3 stacks of bleed at 24s + extra possible bleeds and burns on crits, lead with poison so they gather as long as possible while walking through chilled, or immoblize with Grenade #5 in poison. Spam Grenade #1 still nearly in range, Static Shot to blind and confuse, if melee Prybar and Concussion Grenade.
In Party-
Sit at 1200 Range
Rotate Grenades
Take no damage
????
Profit
Curious if anyone has used the build before as setup, and I think the confusion stacking might be really fun in sPVP, with a few modification of course.
Are these working properly?
I have not had a chance to go test them yet, but is it a matter of they are applying the correct duration but not showing it in the tool tip, or they are not adding the duration?
I hear complaints on the forums of them not working but its never stated how they are not working.
I asked for this back in beta, never got any where with it sadly.
GS2 has 8s cool down, does 1600 damage, FT1 is 490 damage over 2-3 seconds? That means you can roughly do 3 attacks per 1 GS2, that is 1600 damage.
I fail to see an issue aside from the targeting problems with FT1
Oranges I always get from Pirates in Bloodtide, the bags they drop.
Any Jewel plus its matching Filigree is how I did it, I just went through my bank of things I had from daily gather. Took 15 minutes.
Without researching it, I would assume people are buying more due to increase income keeping prices up, people are not selling as many due to the ease of collecting for things like legendaries, or people are just refusing to undercut enough to make a difference.
RNG at its best, I am still pulling a Rare almost every chest, and gotten more exotics from FotM in the past 2 week than I have since launch of FotM
Also fully aware of the current Condition Duration and Giver Weapons not working properly just getting a plan.
I have 2 Engineers, I no longer liked the look of my Sylvari and rolled a Norn, and since that time I put her on a shelf and have been playing a Necro. Lately I have been missing my Engineer and considering dusting her off. The catch is I love the condtionmancer build on my Necro.
So I am hoping to build something like the following, however I am unable to link a build as I am at work and its restricted(yet this isnt)
I am considering 30/30/0/10/0 – 10 In alchemy is debatable
Explosives – V, VIII, XI
Firearms – V, VII, XII
Alchemy – V
Weapons – Giver with Superior Corruption, Rabid with Superior Earth
Armor – Rabid with 2x Lyssa, 4x Nightmare
Accessories – Rabid with Rabid Crests or Chyrscola Jewels
Consumables – Rare Veggie Pizza and Master Tuning Crstyals
Power 1216
Precision 1718
Toughness 1590
Vit 1331
Condition Damage 1663
Condition Duration 100%
Critical Chance 42%
Healing Skill is debatable currently
Utility Skills – Grenade Kit, Elixir Gun, and unknown
Elite – Supply Drop
I think this would allow you to stack every condition endless except for Chill, you could with all 3 grenades hitting for 12 of 16 seconds. You should be able to stack 20 bleeds on your own, 25 vuln, burning, poision, and rotate out confusion as needed.
Thoughts, improvements?
Queensdale. I do all my dailies near the Vale Waypoint. There is everything you need for any daily within a 1 minute run.
I get a d/c once a night, since about 2 months after release, and it seems with every update my loading screens take a little bit longer.
The only time I thought I had an issue with DR on fractals is when I did from 5-12 in a single day, actually it was straight with no break. The last 2 runs I had terrible drops, but the next day all was good even after multiple runs again.
I love these posts, and see it two ways.
I have leveled 2 characters completely by dungeons once they made level 35, I ran with groups off gw2lfg, and was never booted from a group.
Second I will run any dungeon with anyone as long as they are the appropriate level. If you know the dungeon and on an alt, you are not going to slow us down that much. If you are a new player and willing to listen, again not going to slow it down that much.
Ascended rings are considered unique skins just like Legendaries, you can only equip 1 of the each. That is why they make 2 with the same Stats, so you can get the stats you want but 2 different looks, and more importantly for them more time spent in the game.
My Engineer seemed to suffer from the DR bug, never could I get a decent drop, wonder how much gold I missed out on?
Sword Warrior with Healing Shouts, can help you stack to 25 bleeds with minimal effort.
Mesmer with a staff is awesome for massive condition spreading.
Cooking is by far the easiest, if you have another character that can get the Karma foods, its really a matter of make Dough, Cookie Dough, Spam cookies, pie filling and pies till you hit 400. My newest 80 I did cooking with a Booster in 37 minutes.
I completed this with an Engineer and guild group all of us in the 40s, two weeks into launch, no guides or anything else. Its only gotten easier.
I ask in pugs, I dont mind killing or skipping the handful of times killing them I dont get any better loot than any where else.
Guardians make this dungeon a cakewalk if they bring Shield of the Avenger, you literally watch the mobs of bandits waving their arms getting their projectiles absorbed while you kill them.
Mesmer Feedback is even more fun, they kill themselves.
You can have 2 sigil spots if 2H weapons cost more than 1H ones. Drives me nuts that to get a pair of weapons from dungeons I need 510 tokens, but you are good at 300.
Path 1 Tips
To what you mentioned – Sure Shot Seamus can not be killed in this Path, you get to kill him in the “Missing Butler” path. Once the Asura has blown up the devices in that room, immediatly exit and run till you loose aggro.
Bloody Victoria will usually focus on a single target, if you can get a high toughness HP character in her face, Blind helps alot when she comes out of stealth, other than that when she stealths move around dont group together, that is if she is not fixed on a single tank like target.
The room with the bandits is not meant to be fought, yes you can do it but its not easy. Hug the left wall and jump behind the wood pieces of the platform that goes above, work your way through into the next room where you can fight the mobs. Once they are killed make a run for the “Box” this is located on the right side of the cave entrance to the next part of the dungeon, you will go up the stairs before entering the cave turn right and look behind you, its under a platform, this will pull all the riflemen to you, so AOE will hit them all.
Alternativly this can be done if you have a longer lasting Invis, run past the large group of bandits with Swiftness and 5s+ of Invis, run up the ramp in the bandit room, jump directly off the top of the ramp onto the wooden platform below, continue to the rock wall, drop down and move directly behind you into the box to kill the now spawned rifleman.(This is how you pass these groups in Path 3)
The next part, have 1 person with the longest range, tag a single mob at max range and pull them to the entrance to the cave tunnel. Kill them all there.
Once the trash is cleared, kill the two Enforcers on the platforms, move up the platform, follow it around to the left side(as you were facing in) to the cave, follow it to the end, jump off and run in a straight line for the water jumping all obstacles.
Once everyone is in the water, kill the 3 enforcers then kill the boss.
Boss tips. Stop using projectiles when he puts up the Wind Spell, dodge fireballs.
Send me a PM if you want to run it together sometime, be happy to help.

I have run CM countless times, enough to complete 3 full sets of gear from it. Here are some tips.
Once you move outside, after getting the antidote is the part you seem to be referring to as being spawn camped.
Have 1 person go outside, pull the mobs directly on the left next to the building, everyone else wait in the courtyard, when the mob hits 30%ish health it will try and run, immobilize, slow down etc to kill before it pulls more. Rinse and repeat till you have cleared the first groups of NPCs.
The Wall you have to blow up, this is a easy way to do it. Pick up barrels, run to way point, place barrels at way point, about 10 of them. Create a closely spaced together trail from the way point to the location where you pick up barrels. As you near the house where you pick up the barrels, the NPCs will take off, they will go after the barrels and ignore you, occasionally 1 will attack your group. Once the NPCs take off, place barrels in the circle. Once the gate explodes, go in and to the right till the NPCs come back, kill them all and proceed.
Hope this helps. If you need help I will gladly run it with you pretty much any time I am on, still need a few more tokens.
I am missing a handful of achievements from FotM, even though I thought they would be complete. Curious if anyone knows the solution or had the same problem.
The Volcano Fractal – Achievement is to not fall in the Lava, my last round through I took extra precautions and never once stepped food in Lava(I am assuming the lava around island at the bottom when fighting legendary shaman) did not recieve the achievement.
Swamp Fractal – Achievement is to not set off a single trap. My last run through had 2 warriors and 2 mesmers, I did not run a single orb and just waited, did not set a single trap off on my way to the wisps either. No achievement recieved.
Urban Battle – I have not tried this one but wanted to ask, are the chickens inside the city walls after Siegemaster Dulfy or outside?
Naga Mouse
Weapon Skills, Heal, Utility, Elite all on the Mouse
Swap weapon Mouse
Movement WASD
F1-F4 is now QECV
So maybe its been brought up before but I see it as a no loose situation for most players and ANet.
When salvaging a level 80 item, based on its Stats you would stand a chance at getting a Fine T6 mat back with the other items used to create it.
More casual players are happy because it increases the T6 Mat pool and lowers prices.
ANet would be happy because it would follow the same rules and Sigils and Runes, higher level Kit, the better the chance of getting a Fine material back, therefore increased sales of mystic forge stones and BL salvage kits.
Thoughts
They dont need anything like this till they fix aspects of the game that were designed to be played.
Try this, it will work faster for you gw2lfg.com
That is an excellent one!
Nope Fractals is per character unless a change has recently been made that I am unaware of.
What are things that are currently character specific you would like to see made account wide?
For me
Fractal Level
