I especially hate it when commanders are bashing my class as useless one moment and the next moment they need something from me because I’m fast and stealthy, lol. Anyway, I tend to just not follow people who are total kittens about it. I can accept that druids and thieves are being kicked out of the squad if the squad is full and I can accept some lighthearted jokes about these classes as well, but I’ve seen people who were just flat out bullying people who played thieves and druids/rangers. I tend to just leave the squad and never follow that person again if they do that. I know that to some people, this game is some kind of sport and they take it véry seriously, but I play this game to relax and have fun and I can imagine that so do quite a few others. I know I’m not going to play a class I don’t enjoy ‘just to be a true team player’. You can be a team player while still playing the class you like the most, even if that clas isn’t considered super useful, you can still be of use and aid your team.
I main a reaper, so usually people don’t really mind having me in the squad. But I also quite enjoy playing daredevil and everyone knows how people think about thieves, lol. Other than that I refuse to follow people who flat out bully other people (for whatever reason), I don’t let it get to me. Just play what you like. You play for you, not for them.

That would really be nice! I also feel like there’s a lack of pants for the heavies (and maybe light too but I don’t really play that so I’m not sure). If I want to dress my female heavy up 9/10 choices for the bottom have some kind of skirt-y thing on them. In fact, I think I only have one option unlocked that is just a pants and it came from the gem shop. Now I have to admit that I haven’t gone out of my way to unlock every skin possible, but I still feel like there aren’t a lot of pants out there for the females (there seem to be for medium armor, but I suspect that’s because the trencoats go over it xD ). I know my character is a female. Doesn’t mean she can’t and doesn’t want to wear pants, Anet. xD
I find that most pugs on my server are pretty eager to res people, actually. More so than some of the diehard WvWers I see every day and who often only tend to look after ‘their own’. I’m fine with the latter too. I mean, it does annoy me sometimes if I just got ganked and I haven’t waypointed yet, no enemy in sight anymore and three allies pass by without even looking at me, but if that’s how they wanna play then that’s their right I guess. I’ll admit that there are a couple of names I’ll recognize as people who always do this and when I see them dead I’ll just leave them, too. That said, it happens to me too sometimes that I see someone getting ganked and I really am in a hurry to get to a t3 structure with a full blob of enemies and five rams knocking on the gate. I tend to feel a little guilty when I just leave them behind and they die, but it’s nothing personal. I usually always stop and try to help if I can. Unfortunately with me there’s a bigger chance of me being in the way and rallying your target, because I’m not very good, but I still try when I see allies in trouble (or dead xD ). I also often try to get out of combat during big fights to res people if we’re nowhere near a waypoint.
I do see that some people play the game in a selfish way, but it’s not really my thing. I enjoy helping where I can. I consider everyone from my server one of my own and as long as they’ve never given me a reason to hate their guts, I will try to help in whatever way I can. It’s not always effective, but it’s usually appreciated, so then it’s worth it to me. xD
I really would’ve liked it if the shared slots could’ve been on the bottom! But well, I guess I’ll get used to this too, in time.
I have that too. 32bit client caused a lot of disconnects, but 64bit client gave me this problem. It is indeed pretty annoying, especially in WvW. I have to say it hasn’t been an issue for me for a little while now, I thought that maybe it had been fixed, but I guess I just got lucky for a while then.
I’ve had it a couple of times already too, started after the patch (I play WvW).
I’m not from a low or a high tier server, and the pairing hasn’t bothered me that much. In our pairing I’m on the higher tier server. There have been crazy queues compared to what we were used to, but with the patch just launching Friday and it being weekend that doesn’t surprise me much. I think it will get better for us. I also don’t have any complaints about the server we got linked with. I do feel kind of bad for the smaller servers that their identity indeed seems to be wiped out a bit. It wasn’t supposed to be a server merge, but it kind of feels like that anyway. I saw a post in this topic a couple of pages back about how the smaller servers are pretty much just slaves for the bigger servers now and it seems about right. They hardly get any credit. You pretty much only see their name when you hover over the name of the bigger server in the WvW screen. xD I feel like there should be a more fair way to solve this if Anet wants to go through with the linking. Because I actually can understand where all these people who say they’ve lost their server identity are coming from.
Besides that I also agree with people who said that the linking will definitely not be a welcome change for everyone. I myself have always been fine on my mid tier server, but I know people who chose to be on high tier servers (and are used to queues and blobs and don’t mind them that much). I also know people who deliberately moved to lower tier servers because they just wanted to play in a less intense environment, without queues and sixty man blobs. I can imagine that these players are now lost. They enjoyed that form of WvW and they could choose to be on a server that allowed for it. The ones that didn’t enjoy it, could choose to be on higher tier servers. I don’t feel like one playstyle is less than the other, they were just different and you could choose what suit you best. Now that choice is gone because everything will be the same. Queues and big blobs, there is no room for those people who wanted the less intense environment anymore. I hope Anet will come up with a solution for them as well, even though I’m not one of them.
