Only thing thats gonna drive prices back up is the introduction of massive ecto sinks. Legendary armor will probably be one when they finally get around to introducing that. Hopefully they add some sweet new mystic forge recipes or something that requires stacks of ectos. Even then with the massive influx of ectos from AB Multimap I doubt very much that the price will ever go back up over 30-35s again.
I like the new mechanics but I agree that it needs tom minor tweaking. Mainly projectile speed.
Also not sure if anyone else ran into this issue but when we got him down to the massive attack phase on several occasions no one was able to interact with the wisp receptacles after picking up a wisp.
I want to find a good class that can easily dish out high damage and hopefully survive against a pack of mobs in PVE and WvW. So basically right now I’m torn between Warrior or Elementalists. Any suggestions?
Go with a warrior. They are desirable in any aspect of the game, with a fairly straightforward playstyle. Elementalists on the other hand I feel are very gimmicky, and the effort required to play optimally is much more than what is required of a warrior, especially so in PvE.
This is pretty much true. Elementalist is an advanced class. If you dont understand the attunements or how to maximize your build your going to suffer. Warrior is far more straight forward and able to provide pretty much the same utility and much more damage with far less work.
Personally prefer ele just because its more challenging to play effectively.
if elementalist is underpowered then why it took me 30min to defeat a bunker ele? we were in sPvP, map changed twice, we fought in three different maps and when the 15min line passed I became bored thinking I never ever get him down nor does he get me down. How I won him? I really didn’t, he wanted go to a gym.
I was bunkerish condition warrior.
Im assuming if your running conditions and you couldnt kill him he was using ether renewal. which removes 8 conditions over its ~4 second channel while healing him. fairly short cooldown. animation is painfully easy to spot. interrupt it with a stun and you’ll win.
But then again if your also bunkerish he’ll probably just shrug off your damage with water attunement anyways. Bunker vs bunker can be pretty boring.
Eles are only underpowered if you dont know how to play them. But it really comes down to what you want to do. For DPS warriors win hands down. A good auramancer with D/D can provide much more support/heals than a warrior though.
I strongly advise BG against feeling too comfortable with a Sunday/Monday night lead against a server where WM lives. They should remember what happened last time this occurred, when BG was fresh into T1.
Some of the new Kaineng troops (like CO, TL or Ph) can tell the story.
IMO – if the WM main force was not on this weekend, I can only congratulate the rest of Kaineng for their great performance. If WM does come back – things will change. If they decide to take a break or maybe leave GW2 alltogether (like they did with GW1 once) the match will be balanced.
They’re definitely giving us one helluva fight. I honestly dont know how much of WM is away this week for holidays but last night looked pretty ugly based on the score updates i was seeing. Sadly wasnt able to be on myself.

Actually ill be honest I dont think ive killed anyone from TC so far this match up. Ive spent the past like 20 odd hours fighting on our side of the BG BL. we just failed at a mesmer portal into the keep when the whole thing crashed >.<

You moved us out of DB? TC attacked garrison, so we had to go back and defend it. Less than 15 made it back into bay before you recapped it. But dont worry, the next video will show that fight

I’m not down Just had to leave the fight. You guys were a real wake up call to a lot of TL recruits who’d never been in t2-t1 and we thank you for that. I hope there’s more fights to come, just TL and HB. None of that Kaineng Meow or BG LotD to interfere. Haha. Ill have you know that TL had a blast fighting you guys. And to be honest we were all under the impression that you guys fell back to garrison because DB looked like Swiss Cheese. ^^

We always have a very weak reset night. I think its mainly due to the large number of pugs that clog up the queues for hours on end. I myself am currently sitting in LA waiting to get into BG.
I doubt its a case of us being double teamed.
So BG and TC pugs are both better than Kain pugs I suppose, since all high tier servers have that same queue problem on reset.

Well you see.. some people play because of scores, that’s why they put their oceanic guild on a north american server so they can pvdoor and avoid any real challenges.. others play to have fun.
Gotta say Caen, it was a hell of a good time defending Garrison from DB/Kain for how many hours on reset night. Ultimately this is why I play this game, not to worry about the score at the end of the week, but to come out and put ourselves in challenging situations. Most importantly, to have fun. Also, great clip, and it’s making me want to start recording some fights too.
I agree. We’ve had alot of good fights this week despite the crap on the forums.

I have permaswiftness on my mesmer like on my ele >.> (lot of profession have permaswiftness)
they have 900 range blink also that can get to 1200….and portal. (also stealth to run from combat)
Not to mention that focus 4,4 is nasty…..to run away….(and other nasty tricks).
For AoE ele is superior as it is for healing….and RTL is uncomparable…
But for PvE/dungeon (and probably pvp when it comes to Killing opponent and not running away mesmer can kill an ele with 1 button….moa) mesmer is far better :|

You have perma swiftness on your mesmer? How? You have all ONE ability that gives you swiftness and thats on like a 25s cooldown and the swiftness buff it gives you is bugged. Doesnt stack with other swiftness. (Example: If you already have swiftness it will not apply any additional swiftness)
The blink ability takes up a utility slot which limits your build.
Portal really doesnt count as mobility. Escape skill maybe?
All in all a very immobile class. Trust me. I know this from experience. Ive been running around in WvW with my mesmer for ages now. Even if I run with blink I struggle to keep up with friendly groups unless I have people providing swiftness buffs for me.
My ele recently hit 80. I cant go back to my mesmer. Its just sooooooooo painfullly slow compared to my ele.
In WvW its kitten near impossible to catch ANYONE. In a 1v1 situation 9 times outta 10 Ill build 10-12 stacks of confusion then they just run away from me and I can never catch them. Its frustrating. I dont think it would be nearly as bad if they would just fix iron curtain so its swiftness stacks properly and give us another mobility option.
Perma swiftness and RTL are just too good to pass up.
This is why we cant have nice things like matchup forum threads…
I really hope the mods are throwing out heavy infractions to the people that are killing these threads. I think people just fail to understand what these threads are for.
They are here to pat eachother on the back and have friendly smack talk and other respectable things of that nature.

At least use a little tact. Be constructive about it. Tell us WHY we are bad and offer a little feedback on how we can improve.

Not pointing any fingers but it was primarily Mag posters that got the last thread locked with the constant disrespectful posts. The overall attitude towards kaineng from both sides has been anything but friendly since you guys started getting smashed.
If you dont see the arena net logo next to their name they arent a mod or a GM.
While im sure that they probably have normal game accounts. I doubt that they would interact with the community in any sort of official capacity like that on one of those said accounts.

i was referring to the [RE] guild specifically, we know them well and I’m sure the fact they bandwagoned along to Kaineng from DH makes them feel all the better. I have to say every time we run into a fight we try to check the numbers v. numbers game, and when it is RE we all laugh and push in regardless of how many of them there are. So they got lucky and caught hills when we had 10 people there after being attacked by the mag zerg a few minutes before. You can pound your chest all you want on the forum but it doesnt make the massive numbers of thieves, eles, and guardians in your guild any better players. Fotm is the only way to roll I suppose. As far as I know all members that had been banned have been unbanned. I dont think its really fair to say just because they stay extremely tight in battles that they all bot. But as ive said in previous match up threads please dont talk about this here. If you really think someone is botting there is a report button. QQing about it here is just gona start drama.
Its really not that hard. I even managed to get my map finished on IoJ when we were getting our faces smashed in by CD and FA. Just go out there everyday and watch the maps carefully. Take it one point at a time.

Yeah, like break culling and how horrid the state of the game is because of it. FYI the new system is worse than the old one.
Yeah ive noticed this too. Everyone is complaining about the culling. Ill be fighting a group and then poof. They just randomly vanish only to reappear a few seconds later. Repeating over and over for the duration of the fight. They need to revert to the old system.
The latest patch is downright awful…Stuff is getting culled that shouldn’t be…
Multiple times tonight I had a guy just appear beating on me, and i’m not talking about Thieves…
Multiple times me and my friend would be fighting and instantly a group of people would appear on top of us…the Culling is just awful…
Ive noticed this too. Even in small group skirmishes people that are literally right next to me will just vanish. The first few times it happened I thought maybe they just have a mesmer using mass invisibility or something. But thats most definitely NOT the case. Please aNet revert this latest culling update. This is NOT an improvement.
Keep in mind the price of your transfer is based on the population of the server your going to. Idk what the max is but id imagine it probably wont be cheap to transfer to a major WvW server.
I think they made a similar mistake that swtor made by using a very restricting engine. I mean its basically just a revamped guildwars 1 engine right? Obviously wasnt designed with the idea of having hundreds of players in one area at a time. Not much they can do to remedy that now though short of further reducing the number of players aloud in WvW. Which causes other problems since people are already complaining that queue timers are way too long. Hopefully they come up with a better solution soon. This really does kinda ruin larger fights. Hell even small group fights occasionally. pretty much anytime theres more than 10 people in the area i run into culling.
I swear its been getting worse every day. Now its also culling allies and more importantly party members and commanders.
Anyone notice that before they load competely you see a generic green sprite type model now? Idk if this is just a test or what but please undo this latest change. Its almost unplayable now.

This is a 24 hour game with players from across the globe. Are you saying you’re disappointed with your own server’s lack of night-time coverage, or are you trying to imply that points shouldn’t count when you’re asleep?
Eh, it’s just a bummer is all. Maguuma has always had a rather weak night crew, it’s a tad disappointing when we are able to stand toe to toe and have some great fights on reset night/during the day and then to log on at night and see us getting stomped. Honestly Maguuma is used to it and the majority of Maguuma knows there is nothing we can do about it. Just wish we could get a couple of Aussie guilds or something =).
This being said has mag given up or something? Kain has been ahead in PPT pretty much all day now.
We actually tend to fall behind on reset nights for some reason. Seen it happen the last couple weeks. Last week logged in the next day to see we were ~20k ahead of everyone else. Not saying its going to happen in this match up (I hope not at least…id rather be getting my kitten kicked than be winning by 200k+ again…so boring) but our oceanic presence is very strong. If we win odds are its going to be based on our coverage.
Hate to say it but our NA primetime folks need to practice better communication. Dont be too rough on us guys this is like training day for us :P (Or I guess maybe its better if you are rough?)
How many queues does Kain have outside the NA TZ? I am just curious.. from what people are saying it sounds like they have queues in 4 borders 24/7. However, I guess it won’t matter now.. at least for a bit until the big servers get to top tiers.
It is incredibly hard to tell what numbers kaen can actually put up because they have probably never fully fielded their force outside of reset. My best guess from when Ehmry fought them is:
4 map queue on reset until ~11pm – midnight. Tapers off until WM fully gets on then a queue on 2-3 maps on reset.
Every other day queue on 3-4 maps during NA primetime and 2 during Asian prime. Otherwise 1-2 queue max
This is about right. When our major guilds have raid nights we usually have queues on at least 2 maps.
Except for the ladder is being reset tomorrow. Who knows who we will be facing now.
The matches for tomorrow will still be based on current ratings. As im sure has been mentioned before the blowout matches will be the new T1. However that will change very rapidly. as the current T1 servers push back up.
I think Kaineng should go back to T8 with Denova’s and Ferguson’s…

I find it funny that people think they can judge us when they cant even really fight against us. People come in here “OMG GAIZ WE SCHOOL YOU EVERYTIME WITH EQUAL NUMBERS” Well my argument to this is that your fighting our pug zergs. Past couple of weeks by the time were 20k+ points ahead majority of our people have probably checked out to go pve. My guild occasionally comes out and does small group stuff. defend/flip camps back and practice group movement. Really all there is to do.
You cant accurately judge a server untill it faces a real opponent. This whole thread is a little premature.
