My main character may be a human, but even she empathizes with her plight. I hope she doesn’t die. DX
Unless they destroy the Grove and move the Sylvari home to deeper into the Maguuma Wastes….
Tinfoil hats for everybody

I thought the bright orange for the skills was kind of an obvious sign to “GTFO” but I guess not. I died a couple of times, once I dodged out of the Omphalos Chamber and another time when I was distracted by my Roommate. It was a ridiculously fun fight, with interesting mechanics (at least for me)

So there are other evidence of Dragons communicating with other species.
Thank you.

So after playing through and reading a bunch of speculation after this episode and on Glint and other Dragons getting involved and so on. If you have played through the GW1: Prophecies Campaign you will remember that after beating your doppelganger and the Dragon’s Lair mission you meet glint and she tells you about the Flameseeker Prophecies and Ascends you.
My question that maybe some one might be able to explain to me involves the fact that she “tells” you this, she openly communicates with you. Are the EDs and their Champions capable of communicating in the common tongue? (Of course, assuming they would want to communicate with their “lesser beings”) Is it just Glint after breaking from Kral?

They could be hiding anything. The purple Crystals do not necessitate that it is Glint’s eggs.

I just re-watched the Pale Tree vision, so I figured I would throw my tinfoil hat into the ring. The first five seconds or so appears to me to be the Pale Tree her self on fire, there is also a faint sound of crackling. To me this would hint at the front lines being around the Grove, bringing the first true and real danger to our Planty friends.
As for the those Golden Pillars of light it does not seem to be hints at a city out there in the Wastes (as awesome as that would be) nor does Mordy seem to be afraid of it. Those Pillars of light seem to be erupting from alters or stones below, which if memory serves the Bloodstones look similar to those “alter-like” structures the pillars are coming from. It looks like Mordremoth is releasing the latent magic within them.
Those “buildings” in the background look a lot like the cliff-sides we find in dry top. I really wish I could buy into the Mursaat home city but this vision does not appear to show anything related to them, sadly.
Here is a link to the [HD] video of the Pale Tree Vision that I was looking at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dmo2wlRMs_0

If I say, for example, make “Quip” but dislike the skin and use another skin from my Wardrobe on it. Do I still get the confetti that shoots out of it or is that only for the skin? If so, if I use the skin on the, hypothetical, new Thief I make, do I then get the confetti even though it does not share the same name as the legendary?

It is going to sound silly, but not having autoattack on grenade num 1 is what keeps me away ofrom having my engi as my main.
Other kits have Auto-Attacks, including the Bomb Kit. Not to mention both of our weapons have Auto-Attacks. It makes sense that the Grenade Kit does not have AA, not to mention the fact that it does not have an AA is part of the reason I like the kit.

9/10 I really like Melody Lauffeuer, it fits very fantastically together.

Just going to throw this out there and maybe Caithe has encountered Mordremoth before we “knew” of his existence. It could also be that during Caithe’s encounter with Mordremoth she became his champion (whether voluntarily or otherwise [if it was voluntary it would make sense as to why it would be “nasty”]). It could be something that Scarlet saw in Omadd’s machine as we are not sure if what we saw and she saw are the same thing. Then, perhaps, the Pale Tree is actually unaware of it.
I don’t know if that is something worth discussing or not but figured I would toss it out there.

Whoever decided that flying unicorns shooting from a bow would make a bow “legendary” needs to have a hard kick to the testicles. Same goes for all the other nonsense like rainbows, flowers, discoballs, confetti, etc.
Don’t hate what you don’t understand! Unicorns, Flowers, Discoballs, Confetti, etc they make Tyria go ’round.

I dont wanna shoot flowers or pony’s with bows xD, or get a discoball that glows.
SNIP
Ridiculous. Who does not want to shoot flowers/unicorns? Beat people with a Discoball? Cover yourself in Confetti everytime you shoot your pistol?
You definitely got to be trolling, this is just silly. The answer is everybody.

Do I just want to be a faceroll tank, healing my noob group through dungeons they don’t know how to do? Well no, but if I did I’d choose Engi!

I’ve had do this so many times in dungeon and fractal groups while trying to organize the dpsers, switching from ’nades/bombs to elixergun and healing/tank specs in order to get through a boss.

Look at Jori and offered her a potion (engineer here) and a piece silk scrap to dry her tears with and left Kasmeer and her to talk. Seen to many things in Orr to show emotion anymore.

I have been playing the Engineer since just after release. I played a Mesmer in GW1 since release there, and if you recall Mesmers were not the most loved class until near the end of the game when they became “likable”, the Engineer in the PvE is much the same way. That being said, I would not trade my Engineer for any other class in the game. I have tried to play other classes, have a Mesmer at level 80 and working on a Guardian but neither even come close to what the Engineer brings as play-style. You’re versatile in just about every-way you can imagine.
Again, just to reiterate what everyone has mentioned the Engineer will ruin other classes once you play it for long enough. Be prepared to join our ranks.

i wonder when ppl will realize this LS will bring nowhere and when anet will back on their old track….
there are thousand of game out there with a better story…and my heart bleed when i see such a beatiful game potential wasted in this way.
There is no endgame in this. OP is right , 2 month ( or more ) for development to play a 10 min story? endgame ? repeat over and over.
Anet cant satisfy players in this way…unless they bring out a new story every week.‘This LS will bring nowhere’? What? What do you mean?
I already see and hear people cheering over how wonderfull this new LS mechanic and story is, so I don’t see why in the world they would go back to how it was before.
I realy realy like the story and how it works, I realy like that we have two weeks to wait for the next episode so I can speculate and read of other speculating of what to come and what is going on. I love the community in the Living Story topics. And also Season two has been going on for 5 weeks not two months and I couldn’t play trough the first instance in ten minutes (Including reading the story).I also like that you don’t get lot’s of loot from NPC’s in the story instances, they are not meant to be farmed they are meant for enjoyment and to challange yourself a little extra. There is enough loot on the new map.
In OP’s point of view it sound like he/she want loot loot loot otherwise the game is boring. Where have the enjoyment of replaying something for the story or just the pleasure of having succeded something challanging? Sure I get it, it is always nice to know that there is a fat reward waiting for you but hello it is not that important is it?Read carefully pls. I don’t need “Loot loot loot” like you said.
So, you speak about grind? Isn’t “story repeating” kind of grind? But even worse… same dialogs… same NPC moves…a lot of NPC moves…And you Can’t skip it.
And this is was presented like “SUPER NEW FEATURE”. Who need this in 2014? This isn’t dandy/sega game. We need more mods and diversity, especialy in PvP. Not this…
P.S. Loot option was under mark “At least” – only becaue it give an illusion of progress.
That “super new feature” you’re complaining about isn’t the story or the items. It’s the fact that you can “journal” the living story and go back and play it anytime you want. Why this is important? It’s so people who enjoy discussing the lore and the story which encompasses Tyria (both present and 250 years in the past [GW1]) can gather as much information as possible. It’s so people who may have missed something can go back and get it. Not so you can see something shinier than your new piece of armour or new weapon, while that is exciting, that isn’t the “new feature” that they were advertising.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the fact that we have an entire new area that we can “grind” or “loot loot loot” that is now a permanent fixture of Tyria. Congrats.

While I believe buddy above me is correct, it does not mean it isn’t interesting to discuss. Regardless of whether or not we come to a conclusion.
On topic, however, I did notice in one of the final scenes of “Entanglement” it does seem that Marjory is avoiding having Kasmeer meet her mother, which seems strange to me. She was rather insistent on the fact that Kasmeer “should stay with the group” oppose to comfort her. I got the “vibe” that Marjory was not sure how her mother would react to their relationship.

I understand that Ascalon and Kryta are completely different areas with different lineage. It does sound a little “conspiracy theory-ish”. It was just a bizarre connection I had put together, which may have been reaching a little too far.
Lets hope Willard had a good snack.

I am not sure what most people in the section might think about the connection between the lost Krytan amulet and the Magdaer curse legend. Is it possible that there might be a connection between its disappearance (aside from Mordy looking for an evening snack)?
To me, and granted I am new to the whole lore-crafting business, it just seems bizarre that we find out about this secret object that is capable of determining the heir to the human throne. We are also informed that it is now missing(stolen or lost?) after escaping the attack on Concordia. Now, despite it being a teaser of the next episode, we see Rytlock attempting to cleanse Ascalon of the curse that has plague it for 250 or so years.
What am I proposing then? That I am not sure of. It could be that the Black Citadel has stolen it in the chaos (somehow having knowledge of its movements) in hopes of it working via region oppose to just for the Krytan throne. Even more devious renegades or Flame Legion trying to disrupt the alliance/treaty between the Humans and the Charr. As mentioned above it just seems far to coincidental for it just to be a snack for our newly awakening Dragon-friend.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Is there a connection or just a bizarre coincidence?

The PC could just be completely bullkittenting the group to try and sound smart and threw a bunch of words together. It might not actually be its name and we will forever just refer to it as Mordremoth.
Discovering one’s purpose is not as easy as it might originally appear.
I feel like the NC are similar to the Sons of Svanir. Evil – to a point – due to their constructed belief system. They are probably more likely to become servants of their ED of choice (Jormag for the SoS and Mordremoth for the NC) due to these beliefs. Becoming a servant to Mordremoth would most certainly be a much more efficient method of injecting “The Dream” with “Nightmare” than any other methods they have used before.
Essentially, what I am trying to point out is that they are not “almost-but-not-quite dragon minions” just much more susceptible and have a much higher chance of becoming corrupted because of their chosen belief system.

So last night I finally made it to level 80 on my first character, my engineer. I love it so much, it is by far some of the most fun I have had playing a MMO. I’m just not entirely sure what I am suppose to do next? I mean I can finish my personal story, but how does one go about doing Fractals and other dungeons? There does not appear to be a “Looking-For-Party” system in the game yet.
If anyone has any direction that’d be amazing.
Thanks.

I always thought that this was what it was suppose to do, when I found out it didn’t I was immensely confused. 100% supported the idea.

I know what you mean, I’m not even level 80 yet and it is the most fun I have ever had in a MMO and I played GW1 for 5 years and thought that was an awesome time. I told my Girlfriend last night (we play together) that I don’t think I need to or want to play another class right now because I love the engineer so much. She just gave me a weird look, she mains Necromancer and plays the other class to get the kicks off of them; whereas I can get those kicks just by playing this lovely, amazing class. I love my engineer too <3

Yeah I’m sad there is no build to make an all gadgets thing viable. I have been playing around with it, but always end up carrying a kit or two to synergize with the one/two gadgets that I have on my bar. Perhaps in the future though.
Welcome to our ranks, we’re awesome and fun both thematically and mechanically (pun intended). I fell in love with our class right off the bat, admittedly was sceptically when Anet first released but I retract it all.

I’m loving the Mesmer as an alt character, mainly for nostalgia as that was my main in original GW.

…
But noting that it’s largely irrelevant to the average sylvari whether thier ‘partner’ is male or female, I would suggest that they dont… mate. not physically anyway. more emotional bonding.
This was my idea. I don’t think they have a sex drive, not in the way we would understand it anyway. They do not procreate like other mammals or animals since they aren’t. They are all grown as saplings from the pale tree, and seeing that they are a young race we don’t know if there may be other ‘trees’ capable of producing Sylvari or if as Sylvari age they will implant and be able to produce ‘spores’ or seedlings of their own.

Thank you all for the responses! I have been trying to research it but this has given me a starting place to figure out how to spec and what weapon/kits to use.

Hey there,
I am still kind of new to GW2, despite playing GW for a good length of time and owning it since the release. I am “maining” (highest level at 72) Engineer and loving it. I have been trying to research trait builds and such that fit my play style, admittedly I am still figuring out. I was wondering if people have any recommended Control/Decent damage builds for the Engineer. I love our class and out of every class I have attempted to play this is about the most fun I have had playing MMOs.
Thank you.
