Why did they remove ricochet and the +10% damage trait in the first place? I’m a bit lost here. What was it supposed to accomplish? Why did p/p need nerfing?
The Developers team is out of touch with the Community. They don’t ask us what we want, and this is the result.
And there is seem to be no way to get in touch with them anymore.
Dual Pistols – was the funnest spec i played in Gw2.

Well we all know that p/p is just horrible, so i’ll get that out of the way first. It was never really that great, but atleast before it was still somewhat viable, albeit weak compared to other thief options. The way it is now, it’s just beyond terrible unless you want to go with a condi cheese build. I miss being able to play a bursty gunslinger.
I’m just wondering why they felt the need to nerf the weakest thief weaponset into oblivion. For one, ricochet helped alot, but its just gone now. would it really have been op to have that baseline? And they eventually gave ranger the +range on offhand weapons bumping them up to 1200 range. That’s fine, ranger needed that, im glad they got it. But what about the trait that used to make pistols 1000ish range? Can we expect to see that put into pistols at some point?
P/P was always the underdog. Now with out Ricochet and the +10% Damage to Pistols trait, you will most likely get kicked from Group content, once players realise how little damage P/P does today.
If you are waiting for a buff to P/P – i sugest you uninstall the game, and look for diferent MMO today. Ricochet was the only buff they gave to Pistol Thieves in the last 3 years, and it wasn’t even aimed for P/P, since it was always a P/D trait. Now that they removed it, they won’t bring it back.

Right now me being a thief or not being a thief sort of depends on this. I tried it at low levels and hated having to tab target just to tag and having to run away from anything that looked remotely threatening.
Some people have told me it gets better later and that it gets some sort of AOE. Others have told me to stay clear and just go SB (which is okay…but clunky as hell).
Any thoughts?
Gw2 Content doesn’t require you to top DPS charts, or have 100% Dodge.
It’s a game where you play what you like. If you like the look of Dual Pistols then go for it, it’s fun.
Melee rifle FTW!!!
I sincerely hope the thief specialization won’t be rifle. I can accept the pistols as it is the pirate style, but rifle is really going too far.
They make noise, are not stealthy at all, and most importantly friggin lame.
Give us a ninja asssassin style longbow instead!

So im a little confused by WvW. I remember when GW2 launched it seemed like there were battles everywhere. Now I log into any of the borderlands around 7pm EST and they seem dead. If they are not dead there is only one blob of about 40 people who runs around border land to border land. It doesn’t seem like there are massive battles or defenses. I had a fond memory of defending stone mist castle near the launch. There were about 14 waves of attacks before they left. Now it seems like we just hand it over and flip flop owner ship. I currently play on Tarnished Coast. Why does it seem like a lot less people play world vs. world? Or is it like warhammer online where you have musical bases so everyone gets points but never fights? Or is prime time different on Tarnished Coast? I understand that a lot of people have complaints about WvW, did that hemorrhage players?

The reason why you see so few players on TC is because servers have been locked for months now. When players quit and no new transfer in, you generally get empty time zones, and the PuG dissapears.
With Megaserver, they could have merged Lower Tiers long long time ago.

I have ran P/P for 2 years now. I enjoy it.
We are the Highest Ranged DPS class in the game. I think.
After watching the revenant and how kitten cool it looks, I will be making one, I reakon we should get either offhand sword, focus or a staff, that has cool kitten like displacement and all that.

The interesting thing about that Rifle is that it has a knife attached to it. They could have picked any other normal Rifle, but they didn’t. Perhapes it’s a hint that the Rifle will be a melee weapon.
Dude, there is no garuntee that was a thief with a rifle. Remember that all medium armor classes have the same armor. It looks the same on just about everyone (Charr and Asura excluded). The trailer was not showing what each class would have, just a teaser at some of the things available with HoT.
You must have missed it. They have showned 9 Character in the trailer, one for each proffesion.
Engineer was showned with the Hammer.
Ranger was shown with the Staff.
The third Leather wearing character was shown with the Rifle = Thief.
Then the Devs confirmed on the forums that Each class will only get 1 new weapon. So Thief = Rifle.

I don’t want any ranged weapons.
With Revenant be abel to use Hammer as a ranged weapon, perhapes our Rifle would be used as a melee weapon.
Rifle or Longbow as the new weapon I mean.
It’s so redundant and contradictory to how the class plays.
With Shortbow we have AoE, Poison and Mobility.
With Pistols we have Damage, AoE, Stun, Immobilization.
So logicly what’s left is Stealth. Will Rifle have Stealth?
Also, to think that a Thief is just one Lasso away from pulling Indiana Jones. I would ruther we got a Lasso.

I want to switch to my alts to run in WvW, but i can’t because i will loose WXP on my main. So i haven’t played my alts ever since WXP system was introduced.
That’s my feedback on current WXP system.

All I see are bad guilds who jump to a server to win. Not FA or TC’s fault.
TC paid for those guilds to jump to their server.
Why does this make you angry? Some TC smuck probably paid real money for someone else in a game. I wonder how much it costs to transfer entire guilds to a high population server. Must be a pretty penny…
I’m going to calculate this.

Yes. Let’s create player limits at “night” that prevents the majority playing at that time to not out number the minority.
Instead of player limits — which will shut people out — it would be better to just have a dynamic scoring system. If there are fewer enemy players in WvW as a whole, then the total points available each tick should be lowered. This seems fair since you should get less credit for holding a keep against an empty map than you should for holding it against a full map of enemies. And it will have the consequence that primetimes count more towards the score total than overnight/daytime.
If some kind of dynamic scoring were implemented, then one nightcapping server could not make too much headway overnight while the opposing teams are sleeping. In all other ways, however — karma, money, badges — the experience overnight would be unaltered.
I think they are heading i to the right direction atm. By having NPC’s replace missing players, they can force the the oposition to stay on the map instead of jumping around and capping everything.
Also capping from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm is an issue because I cannot play.
oh I forget about saturday’s evening capping that should not be possible because I usually go out with my friends… /sarcasmsomeone can play only when you are sleeping, why do you want to ruin their game experience limiting them?

Night time groups is a minority. And half of them are not there by choice, they are beeing forced to do it in order for thier World to progress.

Thank you for your feedback everyone. Currently our plan is to continue this test for the remainder of this week’s matchup and then roll back to the original method for the next matchup.
If/When you experience issues with invisible players, etc. please let us know and include a screenshot (which includes your minimap), your basic system specs (processor, RAM, video card), and which server you are on. This info well help us to narrow down exactly which issues you are experiencing.
At the end of the week we’ll move back to the old system. At that time we’ll ask you to again give your feedback once you’ve played with the old system for a bit. That way we can get a better understanding of the impact of this trial.

I have beed expereincing Distorted Reality alote with this new system. I managed to catch 2 examples on video.
1) Player Downed state.

Brief explanation of the problem: As you can see on my screen the player is behind me, but his real body is infront of me and invisible to me. But thanks to heartseeker i managed to locate it and damage it. You can also see the pets are also near me damaging the downed player. Note: I do not have " Finish him" button available to me. While the player on my team behind me, also expereincing same Distorted Reality, he is trying to " Finish Him " – but nothing is happening.
2) Dolyak Escort

Brief explanation of the problem: Same thing is happening here, i see Dolyak beeing way behind his eksual whereabouts. I try to damage it but no hits are landing on the Dolyak. At 0:09 i use my heartseeker to navigate to Dolyak real location, and while on my screen i am hitting the thin air, i deal damage to dolyak.

A number of WvW guilds, including my own, have agreed not to participate in this WvW week. We believe BT can achieve 1st place without us, and we don’t want to be associated with xenophobic trolling of French servers.
After this week is over and PS2 comes out, we will review if the situation has changed for the better in WvW and consider our options regarding BT.
Don’t let BT stop you from having fun in WvW.
