BP is doing a great job, i’m not taking that away from them…just wish their kitten map was more stable so we could press harder on there like we want to when the time comes…bit frustrating when half our golem drivers DC mid-rush, ya know?

We have some ques during peak NA time and peak oceanic.

Main thing we’re looking for are wvw-centric guilds, as we have a large population of oceanics, and plenty of oceanic commanders, but few oceanic guilds or structure. Our NA structure is top-notch…and we’re hoping to incorporate that with our lovely oceanics this season.

GJ BP pulling away in this one. The combined focus on “whoever was winning” up until yesterday is never gonna get as good as this week’s matchup. Glad it lasted as long as it did.

TBH the fight at hills on IoJ tonight was pretty much similar. That kitten zerg waiting directly under the south cliffs of hills is pretty scary. Lucky for us the people defending were all on teamspeak. Some pretty epic fights for hills, and some pretty epic ninjas of each other’s bay. The standoff/eventual push out of BP’s garrison was a lot of fun.

Good ninja on the part of VP of our hills. Caught us napping.

OP’s suggestion has a lot of value, but this seems more inclined to high population fights ONLY. Or did i just not read the whole kitten thing?

Epic Garrison 3 way. Combo of our mesmers bringing people back in regularly and CD throwing a wrench in the whole operation helped us recover long enough to get you guys out. How long did that fight even last? I dunno. Amazing fun though. BP you probably had us on that one. Nice two-pronged hit. CD kinda stalled the capture long enough for us to rebound

Laspo was considering running a meter on the portal elevator…he’d have made some good coin, but methinks keeping garrison was payment enough

Honestly, IoJ might want to spend the next week doing training and working on communication / getting your transfers on-boarded.

Yak’s Bend gets a lot of crap for their defensive playstyle, but that’s because they are impossible to evict once they have something they want.
You’re going to need a lot more than just a few OCX to beat them for your league’s title.

Honestly our normal playstyle is the same…or at least it used to be.

Coming from a guy who’s more or less acting as a server’s personal trainer, without a guild of their own to be biased towards, this is so draining to see. The fault goes almost entirely on the fairweathers and people on the fence that just want a good classic close matchup. Unfortunately they stacked themselves into one tier to do it.

Not much anet can really do about it, except perhaps make the matches SHORTER, say 3-4 days with a break in between. 24/7 matches just don’t work as it is, when it comes to ALL their servers.

+1 for ET being a tenacious server holding on despite the odds against ‘em. Rebuild well guys and we’ll seeya in the higher pop wvw matchups later on!

+1 for GEN. Been through it during the exodus and stuck with us through thick n’ thin. Good peoples.

Another thing I need to point out:

Because we’ve had so many guilds come on to transfer in such a short period of time, there’s no way we can do any substantial fundraising for transfers. That’s just way out of our ballpark. Also it creates friction between current ioj players and newer/returning players that we don’t need here.

Also with the influx of extra commanders coming in, i’m mostly putting a hold on commander tag fundraising. So basically, if it’s IoJ fundraiser related, it’s going to superior siege. New commanders means new inventories to feed.

On top of that, we want our clutch players who know how to use D siege really well to have their own funded stockpiles of sup. siege too. Hope this clears up any questions.

I need some honest, down to earth advice.

WvWvW is the only REALLY fun thing I still see in G.W.2. sPvP and PvE seem to get lonely, even on highly populated servers and guilds. For reference, I’m in a very popular guild on Gates Of Madness.

That said, GoM is TERRIBLE at WvWvW. We’re ranked 21st, and it’s been incredibly sad to go into our borderlands and see us only have control of 1/3rd of our camps. It’s no fun running around solo for half an hour, trying to do things, before being overwhelmed by a zerg of 40 players from another server.

Is a transfer worth it? Is there space for a single player (not an entire guild, just one person) to join IoJ, or something like it? Honestly, I just want a good WvW experience.

Gonna be real dissapointed if we don’t. We’ll just steamroll 3/4 of the servers in silver if we do, and that would just suck.

Our toughest week recently was against SBI/DR, where SBI had a slight pop. advantage vs. us, and we were still in a defensive mindset and didn’t really push on offense as much when we could have. We still managed to get 200k points that week alone. Not really worried.

Well the main reason i’m confident in gold is the fact that our population is growing so fast as people prep for leagues, our overall weekly scores will skyrocket as we get lopsided matchups the next few weeks ‘cause MoS can’t keep up with our current recruiting flow yet. Not to mention the very active recruiting of our existing guilds that have survived/formed after the exodus that are also growing.

Just need to clarify something: With the # of guilds coming in, or have already come in, we are up hundreds of active WvW’ers. Not enough to make mind-numbing qeues, but enough to put us into the gold league easily before the leagues start, based on points. At least one more guild is slated to join us, 2-3 are discussion options, with who knows how many others eyeballing us that haven’t contacted us yet.

IoJ has been getting an influx of guilds like SBI has?

First i have heard of that.

From what I have seen while fighting them they have. If I were to guess I saw 4-5 new organized guild tags in the last match. Not enough to put them in the Gold tear but enough to make a big difference in their coverage.

A few weeks ago we got RUN, ERPn, and now Side Effect and soon to be [mend], with multiple other guilds talking to us.

The reason we as a server didn’t do as good against SBI as we should have was two reasons:

1: SBI picked up almost an entire lower-tier server’s worth of guilds from DR prior to matching up with us, and they are shooting up deep into the gold tier’s ranks as we speak.

2: the good coverage we did have was mostly spent putting out SBi’s fires, but we are still in a defensive mindset as a server. Only recently have we had the #‘s to put out offense that’s more than just a smash n’ grab. Now that we as a server realize we HAVE the #‘s to put out consistent offense, we can get used to DOING it more often. It’ll be fun, and we’ll be able to pressure the leading server more often instead of “zomg get to _ tower to defend” all week <3. This was something we all agreed on at the last weekly commander meeting (which incidentally had about close to 50 people listening in on it)

The main reason IoJ doesn’t have much of a website right now is the couple that work on the site are on a sort of vacation. They also run our meatspeak. We just upgraded our teamspeak from 150 to 250 and frankly we are probably gonna need to upgrade that as well. With that said, most of our information getting passed along is by

If you’re looking to transfer, and have your own TS/vent i’d recommend keeping it for things like reset nights and such until we can upgrade it again. Every time we upgrade it, it fills up to max again. Most of our big guilds have their own they’ll use when it gets crowded, like SE, CORE, HARD.

+1 50 or more player guild transferring within a week or so. We created a mule called Ioj All The Way as a bag mule for items you’d like to donate (rares, etc) to help with transfers. Eventually we’ll do some temple runs or something for a more public show of support for getting these guys transferred. Not gonna lie though, given the amount of support we ask our guys to do already with commander tag and superior siege donations, not sure how much else they’re able to do.

Also just paid for 2 commander tags in the last few weeks. Last donation drive consisted of around….650-700 pieces of superior siege for commanders to use.

But PPK takes pride in wanting to really contribute to WvW especially on reset nights. Commanders like to see that kinda thing when we’re looking for teams to handle something. +1 on the strategic/tactical sense, and +1 for just a good guild in general.

If there’s one thing Logain can be called, it’s the most level-headed, diplomatic sumbish on the entire server. If something gets under his skin, you’d better believe it’s probably not just little dinky trolling.

Here’s an example of what typically happens to people/guilds that just do whatever they feel like without regards to the culture of the server they’re on:

1: friction between people/guilds on what their server’s goals are.

2: less agreeing and more public arguing generally leads to people looking elsewhere for a more “stable” server, with less drama.

3: wvw population in a server with lots of trolls goes down, as people look for less drama. Friction between players/commanders/guilds might increase, but this can also bring some servers together. Kinda depends on how tight the server is.

4. if the server can’t get the trolls out, it fumbles, falls into low tiers and doesn’t get back up. WvW population bottoms out.

5. If the trolls/troll guild(s) wind up transferring, the process starts over on the new server. If that’s a problem on your server right now you should have a talk with ’em before it starts eating away at your WvW playerbase like a cancer.

With that being said…IoJ duders you know you’re not gonna make any headway against trolls here. You’re not gonna get the last word in. This is the internet. EVERYONE will try to get the last word in. Let’s just keep our heads up and finish this match and get ready for the leagues coming up in a few weeks. Was an interesting, fun filled week and learned a few things fighting SBI’s zergs and NSP’s roams this week.

Anyone else having crashing issues on SBI’s map? Like when we were having fun with some omegas at hills and you’d suddenly see like 20 of us turn into 5 then we’d all run back and suddenly we’d be 25…..and then we’d crash and become a zerg of 5 again?

Any other servers having this problem on SBI’s map?

Thought I’d share a fun moment last night on IoJ’s map. We actually enjoy defending maps when there’s not much going on…some of us do anyway. We more or less treat it like a big chat room and hang out doin’ stuff.

Anyways, fought this duo a lot, a real tough HoD war and engi. Later on we were all hangin’ out by briar, built a ram on top of one of ‘em and suddenly we had our own pagan festival going on. Raptor blood was given in it’s honor every few minutes:

We were rewarded with a zerg wipeout that was attempting to ninja bay…but sadly got spotted way ahead of time ’cause we had nothing better to do than worship a ram in the same area.

Few things want me to slap someone more than what the OP is talking about. Way to go OP.

I see this helping WvW populations across the board, but man I can see so much bandwagon hopping to winning servers towards the end of the season.

Devon, are there any plans in place to prevent this from happening towards the end of each “season?” Something that basically keeps players from trying to GLOMP on the spoils of victory simply by transferring at the end?

That, or just simply make an oceanic league. Which is probably a lot less simple than I’m making it sound, but those coveted oceanics are just waving happily from the other end of the world knowing everyone on every server wants them there to ensure overal point victory in a league. This is coming from a guy who transferred to an oceanic server after having all his server’s stuff “night” capped all the time, too

Just doesn’t make sense when a few teams win a season simply because they can “show up” to the most overall games, right?

Those of you hitting IoJ’s BL last night: Omg come back again that was so much fun!

I was struggling to find openings against SF while they were trebbing. I had about 10-15 people on bay’s side of the map—Cadimus was handling HoD’s big fights with our main zerg. So meanwhile SF was choking out bay and wearing it down and I was trying my best to find openings to kill the trebs and HNNNNNNG the whole thing was just fun in general.

Please double-team us more in general, ’cause the matchup will kick so much more kitty if you do. Doooo eeeeeet <3

I can empathize with your need to get all this stuff done, but it’s a compulsion, not a requirement. If you don’t get stuff done…if you miss an entire event or something…so be it! I missed the vast majority of cut throat achievements and I’ll probably never get the balloon for this one but…It’s ok if you don’t…you know. If you don’t get some stuff from this event—more fantastic stuff from other events will come out!

Just get off the treadmill if it bothers you. Take a break!
