We are a laid back PvX guild on the build! This means not only are we focusing on player versus environment/story, we are also a growing guild. So not only will we take time to do lots of events for influence, there’s no rush for you to get through story. We will help you through the story at your own pace.
Who we are: Several veterans of the game who just want to have fun with a punny environment.
What we’ll do: Stuff and things. PvX, no focus on WvW unless you need help. Guild missions are definitely on the menu here, as well as world boss trains.

Bumping the thread! Guild bounties have started and are being held every other day.
Sarcasm Incorporated [SI] is a new guild in need of other sarcastic and sassy minds. Casual PvE/PvP environment. Help with story/builds/ach’s available. Jumping and diving puzzle help also provided.
Our founding members are two veterans who have been there, done that and just want other people to chat with. As we want the laid back mentality, the requirement for repping is to rep during guild events; i.e. dungeons/fractals/missions.
Once established, guild bounties will be run regularly, with more time consuming missions on the weekends.

Please try using the instructions below to prevent background applications from automatically starting with Windows as this can often causes issues like the one you reported. Please note, this process will not uninstall any applications from your computer (just prevent these applications from automatically starting when Windows boots up).
I have just done this and am seeing how it works.
First, open the Windows 8 menu and type in “MSCONFIG.” This will start a search for any “Apps” called “MSCONFIG.”
The first and only result should be “System Configuration.” Left click on this. A new window will appear called “System Configuration.”
Click the “Services” tab.
Click “Hide all Microsoft Services” at the bottom and once done, click “Disable All” (you MUST click “Hide all Microsoft Services” to avoid deactivating essential programs). 5.Click the “Startup” tab.
Click “Open Task Manager.”
A list will be generated of all the applications you have set to start when Windows first boots up. Right-click on these applications one by one and select “Disable.” Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes. This will prompt you to reboot your computer. Please do so.
Once you return to Windows, try connecting again.

Update! I sent a ticket into support. They’re being really nice. (I say this because the support member apologized because the recommended fix is a reinstall)
What we’ve learned: It’s the way client is interacting with windows itself. There’s a .dll file that isn’t cooperating.
So, I’ve had to reinstall because that’s easier than tracking down the file to repair individually. Unfortunately I had 2 crashes after that. One with an option to send information to Anet, and one with the same windows error.
What we’re doing now: Adding a -log to the client name. Right click and select properties. After the quotations, add a space and type -log. Upon the next crash, a file will be made and I get to send that in.
I am located east coast NA. Have had the problem for a few weeks.
I will update again if we find a resolution, cause I’m sure somewhere out there there’s someone with the same problem. Good luck all!

No, all I get is “unfortunately guild wars has stopped” and “click ok to close program”. It’s not giving me anything specific. I wish it would, cause that would be helpful.

I’m getting this error several times a day. I have run repair and restarted my router; but I don’t think it’s internet related as my ping is perfect when it crashes. I do not have any programs open in the background. I am running windows 8.
Any suggestions on what to look for or test to see why the client has stopped?

Volatile Situation [Vs] is recruiting new and veteran players (NA)! We are a T5 guild currently looking to expand our guild roster and achieve T6 before HoT.
We are a PvE, PvP, and WvW (YB) guild.
We will help with builds and meta achievements, along with assist with personal story.
We are willing and would be happy to train players in PvP and WvW.
If you are not on YB, you are still welcome to join us for PvP and PvE.
If you have a separate guild for WvW because you’re not in YB, that’s perfectly fine. Event guilds like TTS and EVOS are cool as well.
As we are a growing guild, we need people willing to be involved in activities! This means learning how to do guild missions and possible chances for leadership roles.
Who we want: Laid back people willing to invest in the guild, have a good time, and enjoy sarcastic commentary.

I’m having much the same issue. Lag spikes in pvp, some ending in server disconnects. The best ones are when I’m sitting in LA crafting, and suddenly I lose connection for no apparent reason. I’ve checked and rechecked my internet and computer. The problem is not on my end.
Hey there! Volatile Situation [Vs] is a building guild looking for players like you. Although we are classified as PvX, majority of us spend quite a few hours in PvP. We are currently training for havoc teams in WvW. We are small, drama free, and laid back. We are YB based. I’ve noticed this as well. I’ve repaired the client as per instructions and have rechecked all firewall settings. Heck, I ran a complete scan and defragmented the hd and still no luck. I highly doubt that it is your system or my system. Hopefully Anet can isolate the issue and fix it.
Same sort of thing here. Anywhere from a 3-5 second lag to a full 30 seconds and kick. It’s worse in eotm and pvp. Lagged out of a pvp match and have trouble staying in eotm very long without a kick.
It’s there. I am still having the issue.
I keep getting the network connection error from client. I know I have internet connection, as I am typing/posting this while my client says can’t connect. It started last night and kicked me from a fractal. When I try to relog, it gives me the error at least twice before it connects.
I have tried a repair on the client. I’m on Yak’s Bend server, if that makes a difference.
Suggestions?
The League of Valkyries (Yak’s Bend) is recruiting active players for PvX activities. We are based in several different timezones due to having an array of players from all over the world.
Although a small guild. we are extremely active and helpful and intend on getting the most out of the playtime we get – We cover:
WvW (Havoking/Roaming)
Fractals
Dungeons
General PvE
PvP (Both ranked and Unranked)
We have Raidcall and generally use that in terms of communication.
We are looking for active, friendly players that aren’t easily offended by any form of humor and we are accepting both new comers and veterans, our only requirement is 100% rep and that you’re active.
