Viable in WvW

In PvP, it’s useless. You’re better off playing a thief or something with real damage. Best ranger builds are shoutbow and bunker off metabattle atm.

I say this having tried out the zerker build for an entire PvP season. Trust me, it won’t work. You can’t carry with that build. I was in the top 250 last season and currently in the top 50 with the metabattle build.

I’m sorry.. I’m not familiar with the shoutbow and bunker build or even the metabuild.. can you show me a sample build?

any idea what armor combinations to acquire or if not atleast get the same amount of stats like maurader’s amulet in pvp?

Anyone can suggest a high survivability build at the same time does a lot of damage viable for PvE and mostly for WvW roaming…

also know of a guy who uses sword/dagger with great effectiveness… can you give me the link??

Power builds and ranger builds in general did get buffs aswell including more condi cleanse despite people apparently thinking rangers don’t have enough condi removal options.

please kindly enlighten us by providing some examples thank you.

GlassBow Ranger was former 6-6-2.
So by having the new trait system, we have the Condi Clear that former GlassBow didn’t.

Also, we got bonus blind and CC from pet, Protective Ward, buffed Evasive Purity… I have no idea how can you believe GlassBow ranger wasn’t buffed.

Why is there so much of it?

I just recently returned to GW2 after a long breakittenep hearing things like Rangers aren’t good for any game play.

I primarily pvp and WvW and keep hearing Rangers are pretty terrible. And I do see that they are under represented. In WvW I think I have really only seen maybe 10 other Rangers in the last 2 weeks.

I was told yesterday that most Ranger players are kittene but they still mostly win with LB and that is why people hate them.

I don’t really buy into the whole underpowered mind set but just curious where all this came from?

Probably the greatest reason why rangers get so much hate… its kinda frustrating when your dpsing for example a boss inside other profession’s aoe then suddenly the mob/boss went flying to a random direction hahaha

Yeah I agree on this one… even though for example you have signet of stone / LR + GS #3 its still hard to escape when lots on people unload their skills on you…

In Pvp you just use marauder amulet and pretty much the same setup…
and I’ve tested and proven this build..

Brutish Seals make perfect sense if you are running Signet of the Hunt.
That way you get kind of both MoC, Signet Recharge and bonus might.

If you are not, than it’s hard to say. MoC is mostly made for the bonus stun duration. You hardly ever hit the Buffed Maul with MoC (but it’s kinda guaranteed with SotHunt).

really depends on you… I mix up my secondary weapons alot….
sometimes I use sword/axe, or sword/warhorn…
especially p1 of CoF at the gate portion use quickening zephyr ..
sometimes I use GS when defending in P1 in CoE…

Are Rangers even needed in Arah Dungeon Runs??

- Full zerker travelers LB/GS. Been running this in both roaming WvW and mid tier ranked SPvP since the trait revamp. It’s a durable 1v1 build that can to an extent hold its own on point as long as you dont misuse LB #3 and #4. Due to better trait synergies it can handle pressure better than the old glassbow which this build draw similarities to. I pick zerker amulet as the power longbow variant isnt made to take too many hits in the first place, so I take raw damage over the little extra healthpool marauder provides (pluss troll unguent is a heal over time).
Key pointers is the synergy in survival skills granting fury and removing 2 conditions, among with 15 ICD taunt on birds F2 for offensive/defensive use. While it is a power build it also has a good upkeep of conditions to apply such as poison, vuln, blind, weakness.

- Cons: Struggles with competent s/f and d/d (cele) ele, and condi mesmer if they outlast your burst. Birds can die fast if not managed.

This guide is great… In my case his play style fit with me… roaming around the battle field and causing havoc… Also he’s a friendly guy who answers questions from noobs (like me) even though its kinda annoying to some people…

Streaming is what you’re looking for YouTube content is pretty low and like Frowny said pretty much the same.

If you want to take it back old school look up Da Phoenix and Serane, and Intigo.

Phantaram still stream on Twitch and CMC too.

Even if you watch older videos nothing has really changed in how it plays before it was either effective or not.

Hi guys… I’ve been using d/d ele since 2 months of the official release of the game..
although I had a 3 yr long break from the game due to personal reasons…. I just started playing the game around last 3 weeks ago… I’ve been searching for d/d builds , guides and insight but all I can find is some outdated stuff and some just doesn’t feel right..

PS: I sometimes swap Burning Fire w/ Burning Precision when I’m doing PvE and change change armor of earth to glyph of storms and lightning flash to arcane shield.
Also I sometimes change armor of earth to cleansing fire when I know I will face people with high condition dmg.

Any info and insights on PvE/WvW/PvP would be much appreciated…
BTW I use this build for PVE / WvW… All though I don’t usually spend time in PvP just yet…
