I’m not 100% sure if it’s just me, or a few people, but I’ve been determined to get 100% map completion, and it’s proving darn near impossible with PvE maps being included. I’m on the Isle of Janthir server, and every time I, or a group of friends and I try to roam the map to get these points, we always run into mobs and die.
I find it unfair to make people who don’t like playing PvE to have to play it for map completion.
Is there any way in the possible future (you think?) that we can keep those maps separate when it comes to completion?
What is your opinion on the 100% map completion containing PvE? Do you like the extra challenge, or is it just incredibly annoying as it is for me?
When it comes to Alliances, as I have seen some others comment, the WvW Community is generally defined by the common Server voice comm (Mumble/TS) than guilds. Many people with small guilds make up the core community of the server and they are tied together by the voice comm. Personally, I’m part of 2 WvW guilds, one I classify as more a militia guild, and it varies which one I rep.
Overall, any Alliance implementation can’t just be guild focused, but more individual player focused as to joining or having access to the Alliance. Otherwise, the accessibility to new players will be limited.
Population caps: Don’t change it. As is, it can already become a problem when a guild is trying to get their players on a queued map, and it can create a toxic environment for pugs.
Merge servers: Regardless of “server pride”, this is an option, but it in and of itself does not solve the primary issue of 24/7 coverage.
Battle Groups: May be a viable option, but would need to see how maps would be handled. EOTM style overflow would not be an option, as that would not fit with the PPT mechanic. (EOTM as a competitive map is pointless, as the creation of additional overflows always preferences the team with most players.)
Scaled PPT by population: I see variations of this proposed often, but I do not see it as a viable solution. The PPT mechanic should be fixed regardless of number of players, or otherwise it would also lead to a toxic environment as people try and manage the population on maps to favor the scaled mechanic.
A good idea. I was thinking replace the slider, but just changing it to default to MAX position should be relatively easy and would still resolve one of my issues with the new TP.
My biggest issue with it is the Slider. A really poor idea for upping quantity versus what is also there with the quantity field. As swell, I always sell Maximum quantity and hate not having that setting anymore.
As well, I would really prefer to default to Sell listing price than Buy price. Another click I always have to make.
Beyond that, I’ve always been irritated by the limit on transactions you can place, as I’m just trying to empty my bag as fast as possible.
On the crafting forum there is a reference to crafting level experience issue as well. Someone at lvl 28 only gaining 1 level from 0-400 cooking. I assume and hope it is a bug with level scaling.

In addition to blocking people who trash talk, I have emotes turned off.
3. No other RvR games match Gw2 currently.
This.
ditto, though lately i’ve been putting as much time in pvp as WvW.
I’ve also had this issue, though it has been a while since the last black screen, and has lately just been the freezes. This while getting the driver stopped windows message. It has happened on two PCs.
This only started recently, and may be indeed related to a driver update that somehow conflicts with GW2.
First PC was Windows 7, i5-2500k (not overclocked) and a GTX 660 Ti card. Second PC is a windows 8.1, i7-4790k (overclocked), and a GTX 780 card. Brand new and not much on it yet.
Interestingly on Sunday while playing, I was primarily in PVP, and the two times it happened were each on the Skyhammer map ( just found it interesting.)
In any event, I am back to running at medium level, and had really wished to run higher graphics options on the new PC.
Hey guys, I wanted to pop in and make a few points about the siege disabler.
- This is a thrown projectile, and as such, can be countered by abilities that block or reflect projectiles (Shield of Absorption, Swirling Winds, etc)

Wow. I quit playing my Ele back in the days of swirling wind rotations to protect siege. This is nuts.
Hard to believe this is what they decided. Even though I’ve never had 300g in my 2 years playing GW2, I could see raising the price some (300g seems steep to me still), but for each different color is outrageous.
I’m actually thinking there is a Nvidia graphics driver issue with GW2. A couple weeks ago started getting an issue where windows gives message the display driver stopped. Get black screen or just a momentary freeze in game, then it recovers. This was first on a PC with a GTX 660Ti card (windows 7), and now on a new PC with GTX 780 card (windows 8.1). This is with running the latest drivers. Happened again tonight, middle of WvW fight, so figured I’d check and see if anyone else had posted similar issues.
EotM has no point.
Most of the people I see there are uplevels, and as a Wvw Player, I use it to level alts as craft leveling became too expensive and it at least is sort of like WvW. I can only assume the 80s I see there would have been part of the PVE queensdale train.
PVE forces you to complete the hearts, so is it really that different to WvW having you actually take a tower or keep.
As soon as they can give me a way to do map completion without PVE, sure make changes to the WvW requirement.
I like the ideas, with exception of Electric Fence. Too much opportunity for abuse, and it’s already an issue (if you’re interested in defense) when guilds claim and do not buff, or let their buffs expire and not remove their claim.
I don’t buy WvW armor or weapons anymore because of this. I have bloodlust sigils and melandru/hoelbrak runes sitting on gear in the bank for my various characters, hoping this gets changed at some point in the future.
