non nade effective builds

elite mobile unit that holds all yer turrets n adds to repair for them

i wonder why there isnt a “swap places with someone youve marked” kinda power
or swap places with a minion?

so far in my hybrid PU build its pretty decent
i didnt notice it making me feel like i lasted longer, or shorter vs 2 eles just a few mins ago in wvw
i think mebbe it let me be more aggressive, and less defensive tho before i had to pop a stealth

hey, just wanted to say that was a lot of fun bouncing around south camp! we joined party, and i was almost immediately DCd, i thought the guys working on the house cut thru a line… LOL!

anyways, just wanted to make sure you didnt think i just took off!

mainly im doing it just to avoid having 50 sets of armor i carry around in wvw and obsessively swap around as i obsessively change builds… im forcing myself to be less neurotic… by… being more neurotic in a different way… stupid 1 per day crystals..> BAH!

this was pretty annoying when i went to level a necro up
he got to 67 or so, but it only took 2 nights in wvw to get him to 80, so it really wasnt that bad
but it WAS annoying that i still spent all that money and STILL had to level MORE lol

ive recently come back from a few month absence
i mainly participate in wvw, solo roam, small group, zerg, whatever… i love swapping builds around

so role would be scholar/tester
i still feel too NEWBIE since being back to be some kinda mentor mesmer, lol

hours are pretty random currently. it can go from a few days not on at all, to a few days of on WAY too much to be healthy… lol

they need to tweak confusion for pve
it needs to last twice as long and do twice the dmg or something
its just silly how useless it is in general pve play

i went from phanty dps gs build, to condition bunker staff, to a build similar to kylia…
i think the confusion build is LEAST viable for 1v1/2

but its by far the best for zerg vs zerg stuff
or defending a gate

the phanty dps and bunker both do great 1v1, 1v2, condition bunker being able to 1v3 or 1v4 and survive long enuf to annoy them and make them leave, or get backup

just from my experience

everytime im set up for 1 build, i wish i were the other, and then i consider going to my ele who can 1v?!?!?! and do just fine

does anyone else have a feeling of like 0.25s movement lag
its like im stearing a fast responding boat or plane instead of a guy on land in a video game… does that make sense?

I think using blink 1st before decoy + mirror image + mind wrack is better. Using decoy 1st makes your 1 clone far behind and by chance not get your target. But if thats works for you well. its good.

i like it cause they waste their initiative on him while me and my 2 buddies rush him from the rear!

oh, im also not super shatter man, im more survive a long while irritating people until backup arrives or they get annoyed and leave… lol

Yes it is, you will not be able to transfer a necro armor piece over to the mesmer, this was a bug that was present early on in launch.

Its not fixed and is still very doable.
Do as follows:

1. Roll a spare character for the necro mask you want.
2 get through the first part, untill you finish the intial story section and are put in your starter area

3. goto the armoursmith and select the lvl 10 tab on his sale menu. Buy a light helm

4. Transmute the light helm with the appearance of the necro mask

5. place the new item in the bank

6 switch to your mesmer, remove from bank, enjoy.

I use the necro blue glow eyes on my mesmer all the time
Edit: Just a heads up too. Soulbound doesnt apply to class unique items anymore, when transmuted they are account bound.

hey it worked! snagged the 2 necro masks i wanted n put on lvl 10 armorer cloth masks, which are now “account bound”, in bank for later!

sadly, Maskmule did not survive the transmutation… she passed away shortly after i logged her off…

they are less annoying than trying to reply to a thread in these forums… am i the only one thats perpetually kicked back to the general forum page when trying to post? rolls eyes

another thing you could do is make a necro alt, choose the skull mask or one of the others, transmute that onto a white piece of low level trash armor and hand it over to your mesmer for a more menacing look

Good point about the ledges. That is probably how it functions. Wonder why we can’t get a real teleport? Probably to make clipping issues easy to manage.

The skill is nice, but some damage with it would be great. Elem/Thief/Guard all get damage with their teles iirc.

i just started getting more into my perpetually nerfed mesmer, and BOOM.. now im nerfed as an ele.. LOL!

still having a blast tho!

once this guy i kept running into in wvw stopped ignoring my phantasm, and just killing it in half a second, i started dying to him frequently… i find that is true in most wvw. ignore the pink ghost, and u die; kill the pink ghost, and i die.

im coming from mesmer 80 to ele, and i thought mesmer was active… ele is WAY more active
it was the only class i didnt have, i had to buy another slot to make one… i was never a typical elemental type mage player
but the class is so ACTIVE that im having a blast

i havent played anything else that feels as active
most classes, how i set them up, feel like i click everything in an order to set up for some big burst, or big SOMEthing… ele is just non stop medium somethings… but… nonstop!

its the only class where i dont consider #1 attack to be useful… ok the scepter bleeds n burns are pretty good, and the staff water heal+dmg is kinda neat.. but thats it!

i think the next most active is the mesmer, but it IS a pita until u get going in levels

i hit… 45? last night and finally thought “I GET IT!”
whatever u choose to start with, use all worthwhile abilities, immediately swap to diff attunement, dont wait for 2 secs for a cooldown.. SWAP! repeat. i suddenly was HUGELY more effective

So phantasms are supposed to be like physical hexes, how about a phantasm that does nothing but has high retaliation to punish AOE damage.

IF you do damage to that phantasm damage THEN you get hurt ELSE you stay ok.

We’ve got feedback, which is a IF THEN ELSE mechanic, It’d be cooler that the feedback bubble was anchored to the target though.

while charging, it grants high retaliation to your illusions, clickable twice for 2 secs of blocking

if you attack with ranged, you get hurt, else… nothing…
you just wait? thats not much of a punishment
itd be better if it added "if you do NOT attack while in the bubble, you gain 1 second of confusion for each second you were in the bubble, once you leave the bubble/it ends

or if.. whats that power i never use, the boon stripper/condition stripper aoe… that one… if you cast a boon or cause a condition(as a foe) while inside, it puts it on you as well(or the casters target in the case of a boon)

OH! or an elite that causes 1 of 4 things to happen

a: 10 clones jump out of a portal next to your target and run around making attacking motions but doing no dmg
b: your target has clones spawn next to him, 1 per second for 5 seconds, and they all do an attack motion and then selfshatter for no effect
c: you party visually(not effectively) gains 5 min buffs for all boons(or “invulnerable” spams over your parties head)
d: you self moa

that power would never leave my bar, id crack up

i like hysterically messing with people, … i find people spam CDS when you catch them off guard, itd be handy

or a power that makes it so when someone uses a heal power, it knocks them down, or teleports them next to you, or causes 1 second of all conditions, or forces them to dance in a circle of butterflies, or… other fun funny stuff

i like to stand around n wait for a wanderer to find me in wvw, then double portal drop and toss out decoy/mirror images and attack so it looks like my team just set up an ambush, and watch the thief(its ALWAYS a thief…) take off running

ive played them all at least a bit. my mesmer is my only 80. and anytime i try to level something else, i flip back to my mesmer… my ele and eng should have been 80 ages ago. but they are 41 and 38 or something.. i dont even know. i play about half a level and give up and go back to the fun of the mesmer

ranger seems stupid easy to me. its like i could auto walk fwd and just spam 1 and hit 80 without having to LEARN how to play it

im sure i couldnt, but it FEELS like i could in comparison to mesmer

How do 3 people die to one at once? They’re either so glassy that you 2-hit them or so bunker that they never kill anything.

10 mesmers, 2 thieves, 3… more mesmers?

so i hit 80 a couple weeks back
and immediately spent all my moanies buying him stuff(furious there is no jade sword in gw2! PETITION!!!!)
then quickly went to alts, just as a mesmer break

i generally bought all new gear every 5 levels, so i didnt feel totally kitten
and i did a lot of wvw
after a week or so of alts, i went back to my mesmer and went into wvw
WOW what a difference 80 and good gear makes!

i had previously been using clone/blink/focus wall as a good OMG DONT KEEEEEELMEH combo

once i hit 80, i was using focuswall to chase 1/2/3 people down and yank them around…, blink to chase thieves around and keep them peeing their pants when a squishy is chasing THEM

all those OMG I NEED TO ESCAPE powers suddenly turned into HAHAHA YOU THINK YOU CAN ESCAPE ME?! powers instead!

its been great fun cloning, then porting to the other side, casting a phant and weaponclone, and generally harassing people…

so… my pt… if you are having a hard time playing a mesmer and enjoying it, its SO much better at 80 i loved it from level 1, but.. wow… 80

seraph, lets start a petition to get mesmers to get discounts from siege vendors, and then blueprints are char bound. lol

these are the weapons i use
im built around phantasm dmg, trait wise

i use all power/precision/critdmg
i use utility powers for survivability
clone/blink/change around the third often depending on what i think ill need as i rush people

i mainly wvw, with light dungeoning and pve ae on the side

dont forget engineer has a trait that lets you have perma swiftness ikitteneep swapping kits every 5 secs…

i wish theyd make blink create a clone where you blink from, or where you land… then id be ok with it being so obviously crap compared to all the other similar powers

the one saving grace is that we can make it so it can be cast further… but… its still not FAR

i got a random KITTEN in there, and it was nothing naughty… but now its confusing… lol

back on COH we used to run ALL X/Y/Z groups, and it was always a blast

wed all understand portal bombing… we could all get ready, call target on someone down below a cliff, portal bomb and all spam iwarden at the same time on someone, then immediately portal back to the cliff

and 50 of us /laugh

i say we make it so when mobs attack u while confused, it heals you

make it teammates only? and lower the cooldown to 45 secs untraited.

• new attack animation, the blast just is “BAM! Buttaflies to yo FAAAAACE!” on the foe, no range decreasing dps

• add a 4th attack(move clone creation to here)

• for attack 3 make it so that it chucks out 1 stack of confusion for X amount for Y duration; just as SOMEthing

—or!—

• just make it so the clones using scepter attacks cast the X/Y confuse blast as their only attack. it can be 1 sec for low dmg… just so theres something kinda fun and worth shooting for with it

—or!—

• make #1 a small aoe

• make #2 bounce once for each clone you have out(plus the trait ability working properly with it) and each bounce does diff stuff, like the 1 sec confuse/1 sec fear/boon removal/condition removal
