Arenanet please, I thought you guys were much better than this.
Define much better? She only lost 30 minutes of gameplay, just have her buy the game again and reroll the mesmer.
and what if she hadn’t played for 30 minutes before this, imagine an hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month. It would be much better would be explaining WHY the character was wrongfully banned/deleted instead of ignoring her requests and refunding.
imagine if that happened to another player, who had put in a LOT more hours than that, no explanation ban then refund when the ban is queried.
We can play what-if… but you’re arguing with the wrong person – I am not ANet and they will most likely not respond to you as this is the Tech Support forum.

The Black Lion stuff makes them more money than a subscription model.
It would make a lot more if prices were lower.
Would QoL for the necromancer include a 900 range on axe?
1. GW2 does not hyper thread, But when Hyper Threading is turned on, the game CRAWLS Graphically
Very few programs use HT properly, this should come as no surprise to you. The other points about GPU/CPU utilization are valid.
Can we get the axe range bumped in the Sept 17 patch please?
I don’t think it’s the servers, it seems to me one of the routers is dropping packets.
I will take you up on the offer, OP.
Quick question: Is soloing Lupi on a Necro possible?
It is the smoke effect, true.
I have to agree, the artistic beauty of the logon screen was a breath of fresh air compared to the dark brooding of Blizzard’s design.
Bring it back but roll the patching into it, maybe as a red bar at the bottom.
NCSoft is a publicly traded company and releases financial info for itself and the companies it owns, including Arenanet. There have been many discussions about how profitable Guildwars 2 has been.
It makes a LOT of money every quarter, most of which is from the cash shop. It’s not hard to figure out that they’re selling a lot of stuff, and rng boxes are a big part of those sales, because they keep selling them. I believe since the game was released it has been #2 in NCsoft’s top earning games.
GW2 makes less money than they anticipated, it accounts for 16% of profits I believe, well behind Lineage. They could make more by lowering prices, actually.
One of the quartly reports specifically stated that they are not working on an expansion yet BECAUSE GW2 is making more money than anticipated, but if revenue drops they have that option.
There is another thread somewhere about how some website has declared GW2 the fastest selling MMO ever. This is not an underperforming game, its first year has been a smashing success, despite the efforts of a couple dozen forum trolls to label it a failure.
GW2 is not a failure but that’s not the title of this thread. The keys are overpriced and ArenaNet – who were the source on the fastest selling propaganda, because that’s what it is – could make more money by lowering the price on them.
To recap: GW2 is good, it is a success. Overpriced BLK is bad.

You know what would have made a better villain?
Imagine the queen’s cat ( Shadow ) disappearing during the Jubilee and then turns out Scarlet – who’s a human mesmer – was maquerading as the cat listening in on the queen’s meetings all this time…
It is on Desolation also, one Conjured Greatsword is still there, immune to all damage except Omnomberry Life Steal proc – which is not enough to kill it.
Devs: please ensure summoned objects despawn when boss encounter is over, thank you.
Having played both I actually prefer CCP’s method of letting players set the price of PLEX versus ANet’s Gold/Gem dictatorship.
With no transparency, who’s to say ANet didn’t “rebalance” the numbers on the back end to jack up the Gold cost of Gems?
I think you’re onto something there…
( Disclosure: I’ve bought ~$150 worth of gems in the shop since release. )
My 2 cents:
I’ve always considered gem prices odd – even if I personally can afford them easily – because of the definition of microtransactions.
Correct me if I am wrong but wasn’t the game designed to be supported by microtransactions? Feel free to look it up, the original concept for MT was sub dollar items, as in less than $1. Now I understand that transaction margins at the card processor bank might not make it feasible but ANet would be wise to consider introducing sub $10 prices for gems. Let’s say $4 for 800 and go higher from that. It would mean more sales – somewhat offset by more administration/bank fees – and probably more profit longterm.

Crucial Vertex 3. Zone / Port loading time also increased to ~10 seconds from ~2.
Character: Sylvari Male Necromancer
Issue: Invisible Shoulders from bottom angle + Armor piece obstruction
As you can see on the first screenshot the Shadow Set ( Tailoring 75, Karma Vendor in Snowden Drifts ) – also known as Dry Bones Set – headpiece has two issues:
1 – Headpiece has shoulder art enabled, which obstructs the real shoulderpads of the set.
2 – Headpiece’s shoulders are invisible from the bottom angle.
Possible solution: Disable Headpiece shoulder art.
PS. : I tried the karma vendor pieces that have the same art in several zones ( Snowden Drifts, Kessex Hills ) and it seems that all armor heads that have the Dry Bones art have the shoulder art enabled – and obstructing the real shoulders.
Any news on the smartphone authenticator? I believe two weeks have passed and a lot of us are eager to begin using two factor authentication. I have the app on my phone for a week now…
