Come on Deimos , you cant be comparing these 2 mechanics. One belongs to an ELITE spec, while the other is just a base spec mechanic. Of course the ELITE spec will always be better than the base spec.. well with exception for the Berserker spec.

Anet already gave a hint for the solution to the Warrior’s problems. Do what Rytlock did.

- I started GW2 as a bookah Elementalist for 3 months .. then I saw the light and switched to an Asura main. My Asura main takes about 66% of my total GW2 playtime.

- I have an Asura for each profession .. and also a bookah for each profession for the times when I am feeling .. er .. bookah-ish

- I bought 7 character slots last year in anticipation of new races/classes. But then.. then..

- I get disappointed when new armor/outfits does not show the Asura’s ears/toes properly (see Asura cultural armor for comparison). Anet should really hire an Asura fan for the armor/outfit designs.

- My Asuras dream of the day where all bookahs serve the Asuras.

- When playing as an Asura, I have to resist the urge to type “YOU SILLY BOOKAHS!” whenever there is a party wipe/screwup during dungeons/PVP/WvW

- When playing as a bookah in PVP/WvW, I get this urge to punt those annoying half-pint brats across the field. My Norn Guardian Hammer #4 does this job very well.

- However, when forced to fight a cute Asura, I will type the /cry emote.. after I stomped him/her, that is.

There are only a few sets that’s realistic enough to suit “Night’s Watch” role.
Those are medium armors tho, not heavy. All the other armors in GW2 are very different, most are free fantasy like.
The best if you mix the mentioned sets for your taste, otherwise, you won’t get this style of look.
Yet I can design you a ~Wildling style outfit if you wish. (That’s medium too, but can try.)

A clear description always helps, but in this case there isn’t mutch I can help.

As to size issues, there are alchemical/magical solutions if the partners are determined enough to overcome the problem. (For instance, there’s an event in Harathi Hinterlands where you help Fen the Giant gather special mushrooms that lets him brew a potion that shrinks him down so he can enter a cave.)

A shrinking / growth potion ? That should reduce the rate of accidental injuries during recreation session. The size ratio as shown below is just the right fit. (Picture courtesy of another deviant unique Asura.)

I guess the only issue left is prejudice from both races .. but I believe that can be resolved with the Asuras by yelling “FOR SCIENCE!”

Full T3 armor is so boring.

I dunno.. I would really like more customization options with the cultural armor but the choices are limited. The Asura cultural armor sets have this ‘magitek’ feel to it , and very little bookah armor sets matches that feel except Inquest/CoE dungeon set and the recently deceased plant’s gloves/mantle/helm.

It is something like when you want to go for full ‘leafy’ look with your Sylvari, the only non cultural parts you can use is from TA dungeon and the Toxic mantle/gloves. I have already tried experimenting with different armor parts and still couldnt find a satisfactory combo after 1++ year of playing. Can you guys share more Asura T3 cultural heavy armor combos that works for you ?

Anyhoo, here is the current dye scheme for my Asura :
Main – Adobe Sunset
Trim – Shy Peach
Shiny Parts – Orangespring

You can make your Asura look bigger by maxing out the height slider bar .. he/she will reach the chest level of the shortest Sylvari or Human.

Anything more and it will look silly when the biggest Asura is the same height as the shortest bookah.

For the most cute and fun class combo, look no further than the Asura Warrior!

With the Warrior class, you can send bookahs that are x3 times your Asura’s size flying using Stomp. Perform feats of agility (Hundred Blades, Flash Kick) and strength (Earthshaker, Bull’s Charge) that looks waaay better than the bookah’s version of the same skill. Make big Norns / Charrs run away in terror by yelling at them (Fear Me!).

Additionally, the Warrior class is highly effective in PvE (you wont need to press the ‘6’ button ever) and feared/complained alot about/OPed in PvP (for the time being).

You can try out these armor combos:

Rifle Warrior
Guild Armor set – without Helm displayed
Pink Quaggan backpack
Rifle – Pop Gun

Asura Warrior
Inquest Armor set – without Helm displayed
Super Backpack cover
Asura T3 Cultural weapon skin

With the above sample combos, your Asura is sure to make enemy bookahs go “Awww, look at that cute litt-AAAAARGH BY THE SPIRITS/SIX GODS/PALE TREE/(Insert Charr’s swear words here) MY LEGG!!!” *

Sorry to sound harsh but the new armor sets are lazy designs. If the new armors are using new designs instead of modding existing armor sets with fiery effects, the backlash wouldnt have been so terrible.

Did the team even think about the consequences of releasing a T3 cultural armor to other races ? What is the point of having exclusive cultural armor then if one fine day it will be available in the gem store for other races ? And it is cheaper with shiny effects to boot!

Please , I hope the team learns from this fiasco and not repeat the same mistake in the future.

It ’s to bad only 1 face choice is cute out of all the female Asura choices. At least they added a few new cute hair styles.

IMO there are 4 other cute female faces : Zojja lookalike , default Guardian , one with the red nose and the one with chubby cheeks. Just that the most used one is the cutest.

Props to players who choose other female faces though… thanks to them we get to see a bit of variety and not think that female Asura PCs are some part of a clone army. XP

Trim = Pitch
Shiny Parts = Winter Frost

I think you can replace Abyss with Midnight X/Blue/Sky color if price is a concern. Hope this helps.

Congrats .. may your armor strike fear in the hearts of bookahs that happens to meet you in battle.

As for dye options , you can try to match it to the color of your weapons or even your char’s hair. Alternatively you can always go for the Tron look.

Here is the color scheme I am using at the moment.

The tone of the colour also depends on your graphic settings (mid/high shaders) as well as the environment. Dont trust the preview though .. it usually doesnt turn out that way in the normal gameplay. =l

You could try this armor color combo :

Main : Silver / Gunmetal
Trim : Illumination
Shiny parts : Celestial ? :P

I used a Total Makeover Kit to change my Asura to the tallest height and then got Sunrise.

No regrets equipping a legendary on an Asura.

I guess you have to find the right armor to match the helm. Preview in PVP locker helps alot with this.

To me , Asuras will always look silly and goofy no matter what cool armor they wear. It is part of their feature. Just look at Braham’s Heavy Helm on an Asura.

If you really find your Asura’s head to be that gigantic , maybe you can use the makeover kit to minimize his head size. =P

Think about it .. a short guy sending Norns or Charrs that are x5 times bigger than him flying away with a single stomp or smacking people around with a hammer.

Besides , the Asura 100 Blades style is way more superior than the bookahs version of 100 Blades.

I made my Asura Warrior last year with the smallest size settings. With the new hairstyle options , this time I used the largest settings.

No longer I have to squint my eyes to see my Warrior’s one handed weapons.

And you will definitely notice the weapon scale difference between the largest and smallest Asuras .. since most players still use the smallest Asura size settings.

Playing with the smallest size settings has its benefit though. In PVP, enemies will less likely target you because it is hard to see your character. Unfortunately , that feature goes both ways. If you like looking at your gear’s shiny details , you will have to zoom all the way in. This is one of the main reason I switched to the largest settings.

Legionnaire Patches Kneebane is ready to kick bookahs and chew Zhaitaffy , but she is all out of – ah forget it. XP

I got the Dawn Precursor in about 3 weeks since the Ascended patch with these methods:

- Ori Ore / Ancient Wood farming ( about 20 min for all 4 maps – Warrior / Ele / Thief classes are good with their speed buffs )
* if I happen to pass by any Champion / Temple Events with ppl on , I hop in for the kill

- Dungeon running ( It helps if you have a regular group during these runs as everything will be much faster )
* HotW P1 – 10 min
* CoF P1 – 10 min
* AC P1 & 3 – 15 min each

- Guild mission on weekends – about 1 hour ( 2G & 8 rares for 4 missions )

I earn about 37.5G daily (not counting chest/monster drops or extra node mining from Gatherer bonus) :

Node farming per character ( craft to ingots / planks and sell on TP )
– 14 Ori nodes x 3 / 2 = 21 Ori Ingots x 13s = 2.7G
– 12 Ancient Wood nodes x 3 / 3 = 12 Ancient Wood Planks x 32s = 3.8G

6.5G x 5 characters = 32.5G ( 1st week of the patch )
5.3G x 5 characters = 26.5G ( current week )

Dungeons
– 5G for clearing all 4 dungeons path

For the Lodestones , I recommend you craft them using Cores instead if the crafting price is cheaper than the Lodestone itself.

If you have Black Lion Salvage Kit , use them to salvage Rares/Exotics with runes/sigils as the kit has 120% Ecto salvage rate with guarantee of the rune/sigil.

My order of crafting the Legendary was :
1. Gift of Mastery
2. Precursor ( For extra motivation / morale )
3. 200 Charged Cores
4. 77 Mystic Clovers
5. Gift of Fortune
6. Gift of Sunrise ( done last as the 120G price for the recipes and Icy Runestones is static )
