Hello.
So I’m looking for a guild that is active, participates in all content, PvE/Dungeons, WvW, sPvP etc.
I’m looking for a guild with a fair population, nothing too small.
But most of all I’m looking for a social guild, with friendly people and animated conversations.

Yup. Glad I’m not the only one. Exact same thing happened to me.

I’m not impressed with legionaries per se, but I am impressed by someone who cleverly and creatively uses armor, dyes, weapons etc to create a awesome looking character. I’ve seen people with legendaries who still look rubbish, because they’re haven’t thought about colour coordination, armour matching etc.

Also if I see someone with more than one legendaries, my reaction would just be ‘get a life man…’

Since about a week ago I’ve been receiving 400ms+
I’ve checked that it isn’t my ISP and that no-one else in my house is downloading.
This is pretty appalling …

Has anyone been noticing some quite awful server lag over the past week? I checked my latency on pingtest.net and it was perfectly normal, then I checked my latency on GW2 and it was 400ms+ so definately not on my side.

Weirdly enough in Fireheart rise my latency is low, in Snowden drifts for example my latency is through the roof.
Just me or…?

You know when you swap out to an alt right before the boss dies?
Well I tried this with my lvl 80 elementalist and my lvl 34 warrior. When I re-logged onto the warrior but I didn’t get the message to enter the dungeon, and when the boss died I didn’t even get the chest. So how does this work?

Do I have to get my alt to Fireheart Rise’s dungeon entrance? Thanks.

Yes, but there have been a couple of bug reports that the abyssal scepter recipe creates a mystic wand. I want someone to say that they have put in the abyssal scepter mats and gotten out an abyssal scepter.

For PvE and WvW, is it perfectly fine to roll say, Gs/AxeAxe?

or do you need a ranged weapon for the situations where you need to kite for example?

My previous build was Power, Vitality, Condition Damage. It had good suitability and the majority of damage was due to conditions. However the burst damage was bad and it took a long time for you to get the maximum damage output (takes time to stack those bleeds.)

This build sacrifices some survivability, and instead gives instant damage output, with arcane spells and crits. I maintain some condition damage in the accessories and amulet, partly because Scepter/Dagger does deal quite a few conditions, but also because the gear I have at the moment is all Carrion, and I can’t be bothered to re-buy accessories as well as armor.
What do you guys think?

Hi so I currently I play a Scepter/Dagger elementalist, switching to Staff occasionally if I need the extra range.
I run full Carrion gear and accessories.
Can anyone suggest a better all-purpose build for PvE and WvW with the scepter dagger? I really don’t like dagger/dagger and not to fussed about focus either.

Hey guys, so I’m levelling up my warrior and at the moment I’m using Greatsword/Double Axes with a crit oriented build.

I’m terrible at build making, and this is the first class I’ve played with uses melee weapons, usually I roll necro or elementalist.

Any advice? Greatsword seems to be the most popular weapon, it’s very fun, high mobility, high damage so I can’t really see myself dropping it.
I also quite like Axe/Axe but is it advisable to equip two melee weapons? I’d imagine that will wreck havoc in boss fights?
I’ve tried hammer, feels quite sluggish to me, though I imagine it would be great for WvW.
What are your opinions on Rifle vs Longbow?

Unfortunately not. The skin is unique to the level 400 exotic tailoring recipe.

If you want a decent population in low level areas, join a high population server. I don’t know what you would consider low level, but on Desolation, in Harathi Hinterlands there at at least 10-20 people when the big centaur meta-event starts.

I’ve already done mine but props to you guys. May I also suggest CoF path 1, it’s really, really easy. 15 minutes with a good party, 20 with a bad one.

i recently gave my wife both of these daggers as well as an in-game birthday gift, lol and they do look pretty cool! i will say though, the effects you can see aren’t as in youre face , or to the same level of “flames” a la CoF armor and emberglow (which i have myself).

Oh man you’re a legend thanks, that dagger looks great. In the preview the dagger looked really tiny, but from that picture it looks amazing. Going to buy it now, cheers man!

If you haven’t tried S/D, try it. It’s a great weapon set, and if you build Power, Condition Dmg, and Toughness then it might work out for you.

Although it’s pretty gut wrenching to get to 80 and re-roll, people have done it before and honestly if you’re going to play this game in the long run, it’s well worth a shot. Have you tried any other classes? A good thing to do is to go to the Heart of the Mists with your selected class, spec your class, and then you over to the level 80 class mobs, so the level 80 warrior mob, or the level 80 guardian mob and kill them. They’re actually quite hard to kill, so if you can do well against these, then you can assume that normal PvE will be a breeze.

Personally I can see 2 things wrong with your build from my perspective. 1) You’re wearing Rare armor, Exotic has better stats but if you don’t have the money obviously you can’t just purchase it but there is always crafting.

Exotics are only 13% better than rares. Gear isn’t the be all and end all in PvE, you should manage to run around Orr in even common or fine gear.

Oh please, can you be more patronising? People have been waiting years for this game, and you’re telling someone to quit a great game beause they’re not good at it? That’s like buying thousands of pounds worth of climbing gear for Mt.Everest, then chickening out because you’re not good at rock climbing.

Is this boon swapper build the one Wooden Potatoes uses? He seems to do alright with it. If it’s something you’ve concocted yourself, then it may be wiser to swap to something more conventional. Like Overlord Falcor said, your traits are spread out way too thin. Traiting into 3 lines is pretty much the maximum. I would regard toughness as a stat for S/D players, since they really need to survive long enough for their conditions to wear their opponents down. If you’re going D/D it may be wiser to go glass cannon, though D/D was never my thing, so again you might want to seek the advice of a guide.
If you’re dying quite often in Orr it’s understandable, since that place is quite hard. But everywhere else should really be easy, or at least easy enough to be done with one person.

I don’t think the molten dagger has particle effect, and I love my shinies.
Have anyone got a pic of a destroyer weapon? It costs about 30g to buy, and I don’t want to invest that kind of money without knowing what I’m in for. Does anyone have a destroyer weapon, it doesn’t have to be a dagger. I would just like to see SOMETHING :/

Agreed. I’m a level 80 elementalist too, and I’ve had no trouble in any zone. If you are indeed using your lvl 80 elementalist, and are having troubles in lvl 60 zones, may I ask what your build is?

I would just spare the hassle and buy it off the TP.

Btw I’ve ruled out Tear of Grenth, it’s just a shard of glass, not too impressive.

So I’ve gotten full CoF gear and an Emberglow scepter. All I need to complete my perfect look for my elementalist is a good dagger. At first I really wanted Incinerator, the skin fits in so well with my gear. Then I see that it needs over 1000g worth of materials, and I gave up.

So I’m happy to settle for less, but I’m looking for a dagger skin with preferably particle effects. My Emberglow scepter is basically a wand with a massive fireball on the end of it, so any dagger with blue particles effects won’t match, so the ghastly dagger and corrupted dagger won’t fit.

A burning, red dagger would be perfect, but I’m open to any suggestions.
I’m particularly interested in the Tear of Grenth, the Destroyer dagger and Glimmerfang, if anyone has pictures of those, but I’m open to all suggestions!

I’m as bit confused here. Some people are saying you need to have gotten all the zones explored, so all the Explorer titles. Yet some people are saying that you only need the POIs, vistas, skill points and such. Can someone give me a definite answer please?

Usually I play with the sun glaring into my eyes and it’s a pain when it goes into night time since then it’s even harder to see. I think the current brightness gives you that spooky atmosphere but still lets you see clearly. I would opt for a more dynamic night. Since GW2 is all about dynamism why can’t the day/night cycle be too? For example it’s night time, brightness goes down, but as the night progresses it gets progressively dark. I’m not sure this has been implemented but it’s certainly not very noticeable, at least to me.

I would love to see it, to take out enemies standing on keeps and such.

Don’t sweat, I doubt that your guildie will get banned, and I doubt that you’ll get some kind of ‘criminal’ record for misclicking.

I would hate for my exotic gear to be deleted just by a misclick. Though obviously if you allow mail which contains under 50c to be deleted that could be a solution.
I’m sure those that worry enough can just go onto the forums and ask about it, much like I did.

Hi, so I was cleaning out my mailbox because it became full, and I noticed that a gold seller had sent me 1 copper. I tried to delete the mail but you cannot delete mail with items or money that has not been retrieved yet, so I accepted the money and deleted the mail. I later went on to tell my guildies of this peculiar tale, and they told me that Anet could track money sent and recieved by mail. They hinted, or it may have been my over-active imagination, that I would be banned for accepting this money.
Is this true? I mean I understand that someone accepting large sums of money would be banned, but they only sent me 1 copper!
Have Anet set up a system to automatically ban those who accept money, no matter how small, from gold sellers?

I want the skin but don’t want to pay the money to craft it again.
I think I remember getting the leggings in high lvl personal story, but I foolishly vendored them. Does that mean I can’t get the set now? Apart from the exalted armour and outrider’s armour is there no armour that carries the same look?

If you read the warning before you put the rune in, you’ll know that putting any upgrade component into a object will make it soulbound to you.
So basically it is soulbound to you and it is not a bug.

turns out Anet put out a patch which deliberately reskinned these weapons, because they looked too awesome… thanks a bunch

I think I had a similiar bug too… My weapon skin, icon, and even the name has changed. The only thing that has stayed the same are the stats (thankfully)

So I was happy with my Mighty Whisperer Scepter skin I had transmuted onto a lvl80 scepter. The reason I chose the Whisperer skin was because it glowed, unlike most other weapons.
Having wasted transmutation stones on it, I was not happy to discover that after about 4 days of it being fine and dandy, the skin has now been changed to a bored normal scepter. Even the item icon has changed and the name as well. Instead of Mighty Whisperer Scepter of Corruption it is now Mighty Scepter of Corruption. The stats stayed the same. I decided to buy another Mighty Whisperer Scepter off the Trading Post, and I did buy one, but when I want to pick it up, it was labelled ‘Mighty Scepter of Air’

I have send an in-game bug report.
I’m wondering if anyone else has gotten this bug? It took me a couple of minutes to realise that the skin had been changed, but once I had noticed it was on my mind for the whole time I was playing the game.
