For a numerical reference, I’ve made some 400 gold (not including the 900 from a precursor that dropped and sold well) from selling just mats and stuff that dropped in fractals and I’ve only been playing an hour to 2 hours a day since release. I recommend doing Verdant Brink or Dragon Stand (Dragon Stand is nice and linear with a large number of champs)

As has been said in numerous threads similar to this one, it really boils down to finding your own endgame and goals. If you can’t come up with any that are fun to work toward, maybe it’s time for you to reexamine why you play this game.

I’m about 75% done with Twilight II. Was wondering if there might be a guide out there showing what to expect with the 3rd tier or if someone who’s completed it already could shed some light on it.

Paid $32.19 for my copy. Even at full price, I’ve sunk so many hours into this game. So no.

Events like Dragon Stand are unplayable because of these crashes. Getting kicked from maps means my spot gets taken during the last 5 minutes of the event by some some sod who didn’t contribute squat.

Judging from the earlier comments by many who’ve given us the technical explanations and other things we’ve read, it seems to me it’s realistic that the answer is going to be “No.”

It’s a real pity that HoT for consistency purposes is probably going to support only DX9.

I’d much rather they take their time in getting it right with as few issues as possible. The basic structure and primary features appear to be set in stone, so it’s safe to say they won’t be adding anything more into the game from this point on that’s new or revolutionary. All the extra time between now and release date is figuring out where to go with the specializations and tweaking the map rewards and guild activities as well as whatever they’ve got in store for “challenging group content” and making sure they hit all the checkmarks. Doing everything that’s needed to get it right the first time.

Anet hasn’t said anything about a new crafting system for Legendary Weapons. The only thing they have said is that we are getting a new way to get precursors. The mystic forge recipes are going to remain the same and require all the same mats as before.

You guys HAVE to make precursors not salvageable. There are low level WHITES you can’t salvage for crying out loud. Or make it so you have to type the name in like some other items.

It’s “easy” to do because you blithely ignored the “ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO SALVAGE <INSERTITEMNAMEHERE>?” prompt. Frankly that’s your own fault and Support is going to, justifiably, say the same thing and not help you.

They dont need to change anything either, as that prompt SHOULD be enough of a warning for people.

You’d be surprised. I burned a bunch of fractal relics on the wrong backpiece thanks to a brief ping spike. Put in a ticket and asked them to give me the right one. They gave me a different one, so I replied to the ticket pointing out the mistake. They finally sent me the correct one. I wound up just having the wrong backpiece sit in my mail and used the right one.

I’ll post a screenshot when I get home, but yeah, they have a lot of discretion to help you out.

Full soldiers on the armor/amulet is too tanky for me, but you probably have your own gear preference that you run with anyway. I’d avoid full glass though. Maybe Knights or a mix of Soldier and Zerker. So many rangers in wvw are running full glass now they just melt. One feedback and they nuke themselves. If you can do that and live reliably, good on you, but most of the glass rangers I run into just sit in Longbow the whole time and never swap. I unload my rapid fire on them then swap to gs, leap, and they are downed before they look up from their rapid fire cooldown timer. It’s also nice to see warriors expecting you to be glass and getting a nice surprise when you can take their hit and then dish out some pain in return with your GS.

Yeah, the general consensus I’m seeing is that full berserker for WvW zerg busts is a huge no-no. I definitely don’t want to be one of the many glass rangers in WvW that seem to get downed in 2 seconds or less.

I’ve I came across that build too and I’m wary of going full soldier’s as well. I might opt for a mix with knight’s too.

I might swap out RoO for Entangle. Problem with that is I’d have to redo the traits for condi damage!

Noticing the builds and strats threads trickling in slowly post-buffs. Recently got my ranger to 80 and was hoping y’all could advise me on builds to explore for small group roaming and zerg busts. Guild and I generally run with 10 people+a handful of pugs to face down enemy zergs. When it gets slower, we shift into roaming mode, change builds and gear, and take camps and towers.

LB/GS seems to be a popular combo. Warhorn seems helpful for the LB burst.

Any builds you guys could recommend?

Title. Impossible to check current transactions. It’s been getting slower and slower lately.

This is the 3rd time that’s happened this past week. I sent an in-game report and even sent in a report ticket for the second incident, only with a half-hearted apology given for the latter as a response with NO ACTION TAKEN.

Seriously. DO WE HAVE A FIX FOR THIS INBOUND? This has been a problem for the past 2 years. It’s not good enough that some community manager agrees this is problematic. If I create another support ticket, will I get a response with consequences for the offenders?

I have spent money on this game on top of the initial purchase. If fundamental problems that have been known for years continue to go unresolved and are allowed to poison the experience, I’m afraid I can’t spend anymore on this game. This is just ridiculous. Forget all the extra fluff and nonsensical “quality of life” fixes like traits and leveling, why isn’t Arenanet fixing pre-existing problems?

EDIT: And please don’t tell me just to submit another report when it’s a problem of figuring out who initiated and agreed on the kick! I have a sinking feeling Anet does diddly about this problem because they don’t want to blanket ban all 4 other members of a group.

People complain that Anet doesn’t do enough for PvP. What better way to solve that problem by having at least one weekend event a month where participating in sPVP leads to increased rewards? If not PvP, even encouraging more people to come out for WvW!

I’m all for it. They kind of do this already during major holidays. I would argue they could hold more events during the weekends, albeit on a smaller scale. Talk like a pirate day would just be as simple as increasing drop rates of a pirate day-related goody. Saint Patrick’s day could allow for the dropping of sweets and tokens which can be exchanged for other goodies. Nothing too extravagant for weekends, but something that’s unique, fun, and draws out players.

It’s been 2 years since this game was outed. How was this fundamental flaw allowed to exist until now?

Seriously. How has this even been allowed? TWICE this week I’ve been kicked right as the boss is 1/2 dead, just so two people could let their friend join and get the award. In the latest incident, I called out one of our group members for being semi-inactive and contributing to an unusually difficult boss fight.

Ehm .. what big selling points ? The biggest selling point has always been the open world
with dynamic events .. and never dungeons and especially not fractals.
And of course no raids / geargrind ..

Euhm, a game like gw2 needs some kind of gear grind to keep players busy. I agree with the OP, the game has been focusing on the living world so much, that they abandoned everything else. I still know we had some kind of event every month/2 months, which could keep me busy. They dropped that, and gave us 1-2 days of content from the LS…

What is there to do at endgame? After 2 years of playing, people get bored of doing the same dungeons/fractals, without any goal to go for. If u dont like legendary’s, what else can u get??

We need more dungeons/fractals/skins/goals with rewards, and before anyone says we have enough skins in the game, for a game based on appearence, there really aint many endgame skins. I still login once in a while, only to see nothing changed, which is sad since gw2 has so much potential

As for what is there to do during endgame? I know 2 years worth of playtime can eventually bore someone out. What I do is make my own fun and just take my sweet-kitten time on what I do. If I get bored with PvE? I just do a couple of PvP with random strangers and hope that I win. If I get bored with that, I do WvW. If I get bored with THAT, I go back to PvE and maybe do something else like RPing with someone in a hometown.

While yes, this game does need dungeons and fractals, I am sure they will eventually add them (by their answer, that would mean no dungeon meant for Mordremoth, I think). I am willing to wait as long as it takes for that to happen.

To be honest dude. These are possibly the lowest standards you could have. This is a game thats taken 2 years to add 2 maps to pve. You really want to play a game like that? A game that even makes enough money to do more than that. With what you’re saying, you are the one pretty much creating content, by finding new things to do with existing content, not the devs. For any other MMO this is extremely sub-par for content standards.

We’ve begged for big meaty expansion features since day one and have only seen a few. Compared to guild wars 1 this game has such little content.

Anyone who thinks the living story updates were a good substitute for expansions has been lying to themselves. Period.

I’m not sure it’s even possible to completely fullproof Anet’s servers or anyone’s against DDOS attacks.

I sold my Dawn to a 1099 gold buy offer and after that my Dawn was gone, lost 55 gold for fee and dident get paid for my Dawn. So i just lost like 1000 gold.

The part that bites is there’s no record of my transaction. Hopefully it’s just delayed.

Noticing that the righthand window of the trading post doesn’t even show up most of the time when I try to sell items. The one time it loaded, my superior sigil of accuracy I was trying to sell to fulfill someone’s order vanished and I didn’t get the money.

I’m all for it. Anet has to strike balancing act somewhere when it comes to prestigious awards for merit. As long as they make a slightly less animated version available for those of us who don’t plan on participating in the tournament, I don’t see the problem.

If anything, this is Anet continuing the old tradition of providing super exclusive awards for top player tournaments. Remember the mini-panda back in GW1? Yeah. Only a handful of people won them from a tourney. I had the pleasure of running into one particular fellow who owned it twice during dungeon runs. It had its intended effect. Its exclusiveness made it really valuable and prestigious.

So I see this move as a signal of their intent to make PvP something that’s even more desirable to work toward. We already have plenty of PvE content. We’ve gotten Living Story updates for over a year with very little thrown in the direction of PvP. This is merely a bone tossed to the PvPers.

World of Warcraft allows for the claiming of inactive names. They also have a system for showing how long the name owner’s account has been inactive.

As long as it doesn’t require extensive dev resources, I’d be totally down for that.

We’ve had to accept we’re not going to get homes. Fine. I can live with that. But I’d love my own personalized HoM I can visit from time to time.
