I would strongly suggest you use: https://gw2efficiency.com/
You can use your API key for your account and see how much you will actually need. The website looks through your storage and characters to see the items you have for a provided Ascended set and will give you a shopping list with what to get and how much it will cost from the BLTC.
Not a biggie but I just wanted to bring it up.
In Stronghold, if you have two supplies and get auto balanced, you retain the supplies you picked up while on the other team.
You can not spend them and you can not pick up more (as you are full with two supplies).
I found out I had to die, which would drop my supplies. This, however, was hard for me to do as I am such a bad kitten .
Starting about 2 weeks ago I started receiving some high ping spikes. For the previous 3 years, my ping has been from 60 – 80. Now I’m averaging 130 with some spikes into the 700s!
Not fun
I ran the diagnostic (and attached it).
There are a few parts that concern me (is this on ANet’s end? Or, could be due to my ISP?):

I will be contacting my ISP, was just wondering if anyone else is having troubles? I’ve talked to ppl in game and most seem to have the same issues. Although they could just be smelling FUD…

So the mobile feature has been rolled out and I was given the option upon login to “Secure with Two Factor Authentication”. I was assuming that the reason this wasn’t working for me was it probably wasn’t rolled out yet.
However, I tried again and it still does not recognize my Google Voice number. This is a legit number that points to my mobile phone. I use this exact same number for a ton of other sites for 2 factor authentication (coinbase.com, btc-e.com, www.circle.com, and many others).
Does Anet not allow Google Voice numbers for two factor authentication?
Why when I try to enable two factor authentication for my phone number, why does it say I have an invalid phone number?
“This phone number was not recognized. Please check your number and try again.”
If I click my “Settings” page, I do see my phone number in there.
I have tried typing it in many different ways to get your system to recognize it.
xxxxxxxxxx
(xxx) xxx-xxxx
xxx-xxx-xxxx
1-xxx-xxx-xxxx
etc…
My number is capable of receiving SMS. I use this number for many other accounts that use 2 factor authentication.
Sent!
Congrats!

Waiting for Tequatl to start?
Not participating in organizing and just standing in the zerg?
Do not fear my fellow dawdlers!
May I present…
Lil Chic Boom’s Shipwreck Jumping Challenge!
Bum bum BUMMMM!
To the first person to complete this challenge and post a screenshot under this topic, I will send 10 Gold as a reward!
Now get hoppin!
Is it fair that PvP cultural armor did not count towards the achievements/title?
It should have counted towards the title. I made the mistake of buying every cultural armor with my glory and gold. Now, because it didn’t unlock the title, I have to rebuy every cultural piece in PvE. I should have just used all my glory at crafting dyes, selling on TP, and then using gold to buy the PvE versions. So much for making PvP rewards hold the same value as PvE.
How should the change be implemented?
As others have said. They should track if the skin has been unlocked, not if it has been bought from the vendor.
Below is my wishlist, some may have been mentioned before, but I don’t read everything posted in forums so if it’s been brought up, my apologies.
Add VoIP channels
The issue: Lack of communication tools for structuring in-game world events (Teq., Wurm) and Pvp
For players that have microphones and such, allow them to connect to a Guild Wars hosted VoIP server. The following channels would be needed: Guild Channel, Squad Channel, Party Channel, and Map Channel. This would make map events much more enjoyable and wouldn’t require typing out a story in map chat every time you try to explain an event (ex: Wurm or Teq.) And then retyping the whole thing again for the people that show up as the event is about to start because they don’t get there early to organize. This would also be EXTREMELY helpful in pvp. As you join the map, you are automatically connected to your teams channel.
Skyhammer
The issue: Skyhammer
First, allow evading the OP lazer beam. Second, light up (turn red) breakable panels when they are stepped on. This would at least allow a player some sort of chance of dodging an invisible pull to their death.
Separate Spectate PvP and Joining Pvp
The issue: The current system for hotjoin matches is broken, spectating before a match should not be allowed. At the beginning of games higher ranked players simply flood one team and this causes many unbalanced starts as no one wants to join the “lower ranked” person’s team. Also, during the match as players join in, they should not be allowed to find out who’s winning or what team is grossly unbalanced, and then join the winning team.
Separate Spectating and Playing channels.
How to spectate a match: Open the Pvp Browser, select the spectate tab, this loads the list of current pvp matches that are eligible for spectating, select a match. Do not allow spectators to participate in the match. Spectating should be for new people wanting to learn some play styles or shout casters. It should not be used for taking advantage of matches and making things unbalanced.
How to join a match: Joining matches would be close to the same as the current system, the only difference is you are randomly assigned to a team when you join. The system, however, should take into account your party. If you are trying to play casual pvp with friends, your party should be exempt from team randomization between progression. When your party first joins a map in progress however, you may be broken up depending on how many slots are open.
Save Skill Templates
Purpose: Quality of life
I think you may already be working towards this?
Add Guild vs. Guild
Issue: Guilds can’t battle each other besides setting up some kind of area in WvW and can ONLY battle each other when their maps are facing each other. Courtyard is too small for 10 vs 10, and you can’t 20 vs 20 in the Courtyard
This would require its own menu and a new priv added to the Guild Roles. The new priv would be “Manage Guild Battle”. A Guild could initiate a Guild Battle by using a new Guild interface which would let them select a Guild, set the specs on a map – which include match type (deathmatch, conquest, more to come hopefully), number of players, etc. If the Guild who receives the Guild Battle Invitation doesn’t have enough players that want to play, or the Guild simply does not want to, they can refuse the Battle. If both Guilds agree, then the “Manage Guild Battle” priv members would add Guildmates to the Battle Roster. Once the map’s player req. is met for both Guilds, the battle starts. The battle is broadcast in map chat across the world that a guild battle has begun between “Guild A and Guild B” which would allow all sorts of people to spectate. Once the match is over, the winning team is announced across the world in map chat as being victorious. Earning the winning guild prestige across the world of Tyria!
Guild members who have the “Manage Guild Battle” priv could set their Guild status as Accepting Battle Invitations so others who are browsing the guild list could quickly see what guilds are wanting to duel that are online. If the Guild member who set the status signs out, the Guilds status would automatically change back to normal status until another Guild member who has the priv resets their guild status to Accepting Battle Invitations.
Bring back Guild Capes from GW 1
Purpose: Distinguishes your guild
Currently there is no good way to represent your guild. Bring back the cape I’m sure this has been chanted often here so I won’t elaborate as to why it is worlds better than the current guild armor system.
Thanks for the read,
Your Dashing Hero

I would like to start making more videos about Guild Wars 2 and was wondering if I could get all the in-game videos you have available? I’m talking about the current and past cut scenes.
I know that these are probably quite large which is why they are not in the Asset Kit, but could you set aside a section where these could be downloaded from? Or start a youtube channel and load them there? Dropbox? Mega.co.nz?
I’d prefer not to stream to save.
Also, some other resources that’d be cool:
- Skill images
- Class icon sets (will primarily be used for TS)
Cheers!
eh, I just now seen this topic after posting something right along the lines of it.
I agree with the OP, I feel anet just devalued all ranks.
Rank shows time and dedication, to devalue that by letting others get there twice as fast is upsetting.
One word, prestige.
Some may wonder why rank is such a big deal to some players. Rank shows the time put in, it shows the dedication put towards the game. The emote symbolizes this time and effort.
6493 matches.
That is how many matches it took me to reach rank 60. No Skyhammer farms – straight pvp daily grind via tournaments, solo queues, and hotjoins.
With the new ranking system, how fast will others be able to get there now?
Will it still take them thousands of hours of pvp game play?
I’m not sure why they didn’t just lower the points needed for rank as this would have helped all. Old and new players. Instead they increase rank points received, which only credits the new time pvpers put in.
I understand ANet is addressing many PvP related issues, I just hope they credit the original PvPers for the time and effort they put in.
Rachiia.6045 posted a question that I am looking forward to as well:
Do we need to put our PvP armor in our locker on 3/17 so it can get “converted” or can we leave it on our characters? I spent a lot of time getting my PvP characters armor the way I want and I would like to be able to bring that look over to PvE Land.
After watching the dev stream about glory it makes it sound like anything not in our lockers will not get the same benefits as what is in our lockers.
Also, why do I have to use up all my PvP crafting materials (again, referring to comments made on the dev stream)? Will I not be able to craft PvP related gear after 3/18? Or, is it because crafted gear after 3/18 was not in my locker during “the conversion” so I can’t bring it to PvE Land?
Thanks!
I’ve been waiting on a reply to this as well. By having our equipment on our characters instead of in our lockers – does that mean we will not be able to transfer it to PvE land after 3/18 if it is on my character instead of in my locker?

I wish I could get a reward for all the time I spent in pvp compared to pve. However, there is nothing for me to spend my glory on.
I made it to r61 and I had 1,800,000 glory (I never bought anything).
When Wintersday was happening I spent 500k on wintersday gifts and sold them on the Black Lion trading company. It was nice, I made a very large chunk of change.
But, the problem is I saved 1.3 million glory.
I heard that Glory is going away and spent 400k on various rank chest and at this point, I am getting nothing new out of the chest.
I have nothing to spend my 900k+ glory on.
Also, I have around 190 glory boosters that are about to be nothing.
I feel that my time spent playing 6800 games compared to PvE or WvW does not measure up.
The ONLY plus side is I have a cool finisher
I think having some sort of requirement for joining tPvp or Solo queues would be great. I know I hate getting new players in my solo q matches. I never tPvp with less than a team of 5 because of the random newb pugs.
Also, I feel preloading skills and armor on a first timer who enters the mist is a bad idea.
Instead when someone first enters the mist all their skills are blank, as well as weapons and armor and provide them with an introductory quest.
The introductory quest
– Purchase a weapon from the Weaponsmith
– Purchase a sigil from the Weaponsmith
– Equip the Sigil
– Purchase starter armor from the Armorsmith
– Purchase Runes from the Armorsmith
– Equip 6 Runes
– Purchase an Accessory from the Accessory guy (forgot his name)
– Equip 5 Utility Skills
– Set your traits
– Visit the Hotjoin guy and play your first match
I know it seems kinda long but I think it will help out a ton of new players.
@Jinx.7258 – did you play in the 6v6 GvG tournament a few weeks back? It is very fun and very do-able. Far from PvE.
@Sleepyy.1598 – have you been watching some of the 2v2 matches on Tuesdays? Some of those are not quick. I think some of those can last as long as matches in GW1 RA. In GW1 RA you had some quick matches if you had the right spike on the monk. GW2 it would play out a little differently. I think the matches would go quick as well, but then that is why you could establish rounds. Best of 3 or best of 5.
I’m not saying take exactly what we played in GW1 and bring it to GW2. I’m saying take some of the game types, keep the principals, and tweak them so they work in GW2.
@Darrkid.2935 – I’m surprised you didn’t make that a meme
@Sol.4310 – yeah, I definitely agree it can be done, but do you think they will spend the resources (people time) to do it?
Give pvp a lil’ lovin ;^)
I’m sure this has been brought up before, but I just want to throw my two cents out there.
I’ve played over 6,800 PvP matches (hotjoin/soloq/tpvp) and I would really like a larger variety of gameplay than just conquest. I keep hearing that others are on the horizon, but – I still don’t see any
Here are some variants to PvP that I think would be awesome if some form of it was added to PvP.
Fort Aspenwood
This was my most favorite thing to do in GW1. There were so many roles to play! You could defend gates, win back shrines, run amber, keep turtles alive, kill/stall turtles, or just slaughter players. With so many specs, nothing got old. Even PvE type players enjoyed this map for if you were not the best fighting another player, you could still win back shrines, run amber, or keep turtles/gates alive to do your part for the team. I miss it so much. I feel this would be a great segue for PvE players to get into more hardcore PvP.
GvG
For crying out loud, it is Guild Wars! I was really thinking there would be some form of this at launch and here we are one and a half years later. This would be an awesome variant that I’m sure many would love. It’d be cool to do an 8v8 in a mid-sized map. Have a castle on one side, a castle on the other – some supplies in-between. First team to break down the door and kill lord wins. Your Guild could queue up and when another team of 8 from another guild queues up, boom – it’s on!
Slayer (Deathmatch)
Another one of my favorite pvp GW1 things to do was random area and team area. Straight up slaughter fest.
Thanks for the fun so far, just looking for a little variety is all.

Nvm, I re-read what you said and tried it. Yes, you are right – for the Celestial – I need to buy that recipe for the weapon as well.
I didn’t think I had to do that before as I thought I discovered the first one awhile ago – but I must have already had it.
Man, why would they change the process for crafting items ONLY on select items?
Here, we’ll let you learn our crafting system which follows the same scheme for 400 levels.
Create inscription, create weapon parts, discover weapon.
Then, for all exotics – EXCEPT Celestial – learn inscription recipe, create inscription, create weapon parts, discover weapon.
For Celestial, learn inscription recipe, learn weapon recipe, create inscription, create weapon parts – create weapon.
What makes Celestial so special of an exotic that they had to make it different? I can understand if it was for Ascended or a Legendary precursor…
Sorry, I’m just mad I wasted time with different crap trying to figure out why I couldn’t create it like I could create others.
Thanks for the reply Cries, unfortunately you buy the recipe for the inscription, not the weapon.
I just purchased all the recipes for all top tier inscriptions to test others.
I was able to “discover” the weapons for some of the other inscriptions (see the attached).
For the example: I was able to “discover” the Carrion Pearl Trident. But when I use the exact same method with the Celestial Orrian Imbued Inscription – the inscription doesn’t show up.
In crafting, I discovered the “Celestial Pearl Rod” awhile ago to get my lil engie to 400 in Artificer. Now, I am working to get to 500 and it will not let me discover any other weapons with the “Celestial Orichalcum Imbued Inscription”.
From what I understand, I should be able to “discover” all of the items shown on the wiki page here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Celestial_Orichalcum_Imbued_Inscription
I’m attaching a print screen showing the “Celestial Orichalcum Imbued Inscription” in my inventory, as well as an Ancient Focus Core and Ancient Focus Casting. I should be able to combine these three items to make a “Celestial Pearl Conch”. But, as you see in the attached print screen, the “Celestial Orichalcum Imbued Inscription” will not show up in the crafting discovery window.
And yes, I scrolled all up and down the list looking for it.
Please let me know if using the “Celestial Orichalcum Imbued Inscription” for weapons is still a recipe.

I’ve grind 5,314 games to get to r55. Now to see people exploiting the Skyhammer map makes me sad…
Thought I should show my disappointment to make sure people who grind out their ranks legitly are heard.
I’m two cents poorer.
Tequatl himself isn’t that hard.
What makes it hard is getting everyone on the map coordinated.
This is the HUGE downside to this fight which makes it almost no fun.
Now if you are lucky enough to land in a map where a large guild is running Tequatl, lucky you, the fight should be pretty easy – however, if you are like probably 90% of the population where you don’t get a large guild group – you now rely on the coordination of complete strangers.
Coordinating an attack with complete strangers is so frustrating. No one listens. People lose track of their goal. Without people being on a VoIP (like most large guilds have) – you’re a kitten in a dog park.
Looking for “core” members:
- 4 people to partake in tournaments (I know it is very short notice for this upcoming tourney but at least we could cut our teeth as a group)
– US in Eastern Standard time.
– Please be 18 years or older (for traveling purposes)
– Have a fast internet connection
– A mouse with hotkeys
– Ability to practice at least once a week.
Looking for “other” members:
- no reqs here, just people who like to pvp once and a while
Please e-mail me in-game “Jerry Attrick.5963” or use one of my character names “Your Dashing Hero” if interested.
I can host free Vent on my personal web domain (allows 8 ppl).
Would it be possible to PLEASE add the ability to display the sPvP rank in your Guild Roster?
Sorry if this was posted before. Did a quick search and didn’t see much…
:)
