Paulting cattle is serious business.
They could do what Rift did, and create a single server for trial accounts, and if you decide to purchase the game, you get a free character transfer to any server.
Xericor you seem to be totally ignoring the fact that you started out with a higher percentage of no drops, then the drop rate improved, then it got worse again. Following your logic, this would mean you started out with the DR mechanic in effect, then it stopped, then it started again. This is why you need a WAY bigger sample size. Overall, you get a 54% rate of no drops. But you also need to consider that some of the times you got drops, you got more than one drop.
This has to be the worse data analysis ever. How can you say the rate of no drop almost doubled when in the first two ten kill segments there are 7 no drops, and the last two ten kill segments are six and seven no drops. Also you say after 70 kills it doubled, but according to your data set it actually more than halved at 70 kills.
In my opinion you never even got affected by the DR mechanic based on your very limited data set.

Male Human thief, male Norn guardian, male Charr warrior, female Sylvari elementalist, and a female Asuran necromancer. I like some diversity among my characters.
The big problem with releasing OS X versions is that the grand majority of Apple computer users use Macbooks, many of which are not up to snuff for running a current gen game. They lack the dedicated video cards. Not to say that they shouldn’t do it though.
What I’m reading from OP here is this, “Once you’ve bought everything you can buy, getting more money is pointless.” Well, yea.
Can’t speak for anyone else but I just enjoy crafting.
I don’t know the costs, but I made my elementalist for the sole purpose of leveling cooking. All her money and karma earned is going towards cooking. I can pick up the costs of traits and stuff with my thief.
Fee for more regular content updates? More stuff in the store?

Assuming that the number of classes, zones, and overall content has more to do with money and less to do with design is probably not the best assumption. Its not like they will just go hire 50 new developers and suddenly they churn out tons of new content every month. Games just don’t work like that, sure a little more money never hurts, but throwing money at problems is rarely ever the best solution.

More money does not always translate into more quality content, plus this game is very PvP focuses, with some PvE content.
I like the font styling, I just think they need to fix the spacing. Probably should have said that in my OP. Also, has anyone else realized that when you post, it says you posted 31 minutes ago and starts counting down? I assume it hits zero then starts counting up again.
I would rather have a group of players playing together than two players playing together, and 3 others sitting back doing nothing but dps. I mean, in WoW, as a dps, all you really did was maybe sheep or sap something, then laid into it with damaging attacks. I like how this game emphasizes buffs/debuffs and synergy between the various abilities different classes have. In WoW I couldn’t lay down a field of fire for a hunter to shoot through and have it affect their abilities. This beats a healer/tank dynamic any day of the week for me.
Does anyone else not like the forum font. Clearly it isn’t a fixed width font, and a lot of times, words seem to run together even if they have a space between them. Even letters do it. It isn’t so bad if what you are reading is a few sentences, but when you are reading a full paragraph or multiple paragraphs, it gets tiresome on the eyes. Also, for example of what I mean when letters and words run together, examine these, “el, nt, et, wv,” On screen the letters are touching one another.
I know, I know, first world problems.
Edit, apparently its only when characters are bold faced that they run into one another, but still.
I feel that once people get better used to the various skills they have, and how those skills might work together in various ways, this problem will go away. Right now most people are still getting used to their own classes abilities, let alone those of the other 7. Once the majority of the player base understands combo fields and finishers, its going to get better.
Players who play games for gear rewards and not for the fun of it are gonna have a bad time.
I’m not a huge fan of this mechanic either. Great for PVE, bad for PVP imo. I figure Ill eventually get used to it and all will be good. I just hate feeling like I have to kill someone twice, especially in the middle of a group battle.
Edit: If anything, they should just remove the ability to revive in PVP. That way I can just leave downed players alone while I keep fighting their team mates.

I would have thought having fun would be the carrot.
Also, can we sticky reeddog’s post above. Excellent read.
