Guild Wars 2

Press a key playing BDO and you get fast fluid combat. Hammer the hell out of a key in GW2 and your character stands there with their finger up their hilt.

What I’m finding annoying is how your character moves like a sponge through oil with keyboard lag while the monster/enemy move fast and fluid.

Can someone explain to me in plain English what ‘death shroud’ is all about? I have read many pages on so-called explanations that leave me in the dark and confused.

I have only come across two atm, one I am sure of is in the Kessex hills the other I’m not sure of. The result from both engagements were the same. It’s the big black mother with red paint on it’s back.

Is the spider queen champion boss bugged, or unwinnable? I ask because of the many times have I joined up with a group trying to kill this boss always to find you can’t seem to reduce her health and she effectively one-shots you with the cocoon.
The group always gives up and moves on.

I have around 10,000 of these in storage. Are there actually any keys out there for these chests are do you just dump them?

I have a GTX 970 with an i5 ivy bridge 3.4 GHz, 8 gigs of RAM and yes, while I am exploring HoT, it works very good. Whenever I see 20+ people on screen (cities, meta events, WvW) my FPS dips down to something like 40. Whenever I am in a WvW zerg fight, the FPS goes below 30 FPS. And that is even me running very low settings.

Changed my wording slightly for the nit pickers amongst us.

Of note, Caledon Forest had some new objectives added to the zone a year or two ago, at least one extra renown heart. If you completed Caledon Forest before then, and the addition of the new heart reset you to below 100%, you won’t get completion rewards for the zone a second time for going back and filling in that heart.

Ah! This will be the reason. Because I seen that I was one heart short on the map, I thought I must have failed to complete it at some time in the past, obviously I had already completed it.
Thank you for clearing that up for me.

I completed all the landmarks and filled in all the little hearts in Caledon Forest and did not receive any reward for doing so.

Is this a bug?

Okay, I didn’t know that. So what’s the limit over what amount of time?

My Son has just bought the game and I wanted to mail him some stuff to help him along. As you know you can only attach about 5 items to a mail, so after about four sent mails I get a message ‘mail blocked because of excessive’ use.

What is that all about?

Great question actually. I’ve never tried that but the stuff in there is aimed at 80’s. My suspicion is that you’ll end up a stain on the landscape. I’d love to know if lower level could do it though!

That settles it then, I will spend the money (burning kitten in my pocket) on gems instead.

@Joote, I really can’t say what you should do, because for ME, HoT open world IS really casual. However, there is a lot of people complaining about it being hard, wich IMO is not… so there, I really don’t know.

You should really try it yourself before making a choice.

I really believe people who find HoT non-casual is people who can’t or dont want to adapt at all. This is possibly only the tinhat speaking, but I’m seeing a pattern: people who don’t like HoT seems to think WoW, with its flat, gigantic, uninteresting, repetitive, unchallenging, drone-mode maps, is a better game.

You know what? You have convinced me. I will flipping well go and try it for myself.

I really wanted to buy this, but what’s the point if you can’t play it casual?

I remember liking the game but I came back recently and I don’t seem to be able to get into it at all.

Totally agree. I would say there are two others out there that are decent, but GW2 takes the crown.

I’m here looking at a launcher that is constantly downloading one file, has a blanked out PLAY button and a advert advising me to pre-purchase ‘Guildwars Heart of thorns’. I would laugh if I wasn’t so ****** off.

I have just come back to the game yesterday and now find I cannot play due to this bug. I am not happy, not happy at all.

It’s true, most of the skins are butt ugly. You have basically two skins per class that are acceptable, the rest I recycle, even the purple/pink ones.

Recently I had 3 keys that I used to open chests, but they only contained junk, so it’s not really worth my time. I can get better stuff on the market for coppers.

It has always had me wondering why we have a cape slot, when the game has no capes. Very strange.

I have bought thousands of gems, and spent them on lots of things that I don’t begrudge. But I will not spend ONE gem on transmutation, as I believe it’s a internal part of the game and therefore should be free. Anything else smells of greed and trickery.

Yes true. But one of my pet likes is being able to try out new skins on a regular basis. My transmutation charges would not last me very long if I did.

So, the fact that I need any sort of transmutation device, payed for, or collected, rather than have it as a regular skill, has taken away from me one large chunk of fun, and replaced it with frustration.

It’s somewhat like making the player pay for every spell that they weave, or every arrow that they loose.

There are many things that I am okay being charged a fee for, but transmuting is not one of them.

Only another 99 gold to go.

I think that the gems are very expensive for what you receive back for them. It cost me the price of the game again, just for a few bit of digital nonsense.

Every time I try to upgrade to the deluxe addition, the site tries to sell me the full game. I already have the game, I just want to upgrade it.

I thought that all male characters were NPC’s. So what you are saying is that there are some real people that play as male characters? Now that’s just weird.

I really don’t understand. Where ever I go in the game, it is swarming with other players. And I’m suppose to be on a low population server.

Now that I have discovered the best drivers for GW2, it looks gorgeous. I don’t have everything on max as I prefer some things down a notch for my eye.

Vsync is on, and I never drop below 60fps

Mostly I haven’t got a clue as to what most of my skills, traits and boons do. I don’t have a clue about game mechanics, combo’s and all of the other what-not.

But I still enjoy playing.

Still the same here. My Ncsoft GW1 account is healthy with no problems, but it still will not link. I would have thought they would have sorted this out by now.

Also having the same issues reported. Often unable to move items in my inventory or bank. Left click is only registering double clicks but I am unable to drag items AT ALL in the inventory or bank. Also seems to be an issue with moving the camera. Issues has occurred from occasionally since launch, but I have been having periods of this behavior now which are ruining gaming sessions.

This also happens to me and my mouse is a Logitech Laser mouse with the latest Setpoint drivers.

Sometimes when in heavy battle my mouse and keyboard become none responsive, usually ending in my death.
Are there any others that have this problem, or is it a hardware issue on my part?

Hardware: USB Wired Logitech keyboard and mouse.

I did spend a hour trying to get past two near instantly spawning wolves at a cave entrance. I gave up in the end.

I don’t think I would mind even if they sold level 80 characters at the tp. If people want a quick level 80, so be it.
I wouldn’t trade the levelling up experience for all the tea in China. I find being at maximum level is usually boring, the fun is the getting there.

Thank you Arena.net for giving me such a good game, as well as keeping things working as they should.

I suppose you have to be level 80 and have matching legendary gear to get one.

Nothing for a poor monster bashed level 20 in rags.

I am quite deep into the game now and have only found one annoyance.
And that is, some areas have to many trash mobs. Something I would have thought this game did not need with so many events going on.

But other than that, GW2 is the best mmo ever, for fun and frolications.

I sort of preview everything I get. I thought not being able to any more was a problem with my drivers or something. I am glad it’s not my end.

Hope they fix this soon.
