I got one of these the other day, but it was for 15 seconds. I could have done with a few more to get to safety.
No Sora. I would say you can never be to late for a Guild wars game, they go on strong until the next Guild wars is invented.
I am newish to GW2, and have started a new character in all of the zones. My server, at the time, was classed as “medium” capacity. But in all five zones I have found myself stumbling over people and very large groups of players everywhere.
So I wouldn’t listen to the doom-sayers, they have their hats on back to front.
Welcome to the magical world of Guild wars.
When I first started playing, I made 5 characters of different professions. I then played them all in turn and came out with my favourite 2. It’s a good way to find what suites you best.
Love it, can’t get enough of it. Best mmo ever. Looking forward to a what the future brings to this fantastic game.
It’s a keeper.
I just tried the game again WITHOUT sweetFX, and it did look a little bitty and washy. That’s torn it, I would hate to have to go back to vanilla graphics now. They where fine until I used sweetFX.
Arena.net want to incorporate this into the game, it would save them a lot of work.

No, don’t miss it.
It was good at the time, but now is the time for GW2, which is light years ahead.
I tried this and things do look much better. I do hope that I’m not going to get in trouble for using it though.
1 – The freedom……..FREEDOM!!
2 – The beautiful Zones.
3 – The awesome combat.
4 – The ability to group anywhere, anytime.
5 – The personal story.
And much more.
I have some strange flashing happen from time to time, but have put it down to my ATI drivers 12.8.
They are not perfect drivers but the best set I have found for GW2. With higher drivers I get some mad flashing, something along the lines of what you are experiencing.
Because it’s the only MMO on the market that’s worth playing.
Oh! This also. ^^^
I love Guild Wars 2 because everytime I play, it makes me happy, warm and content.
What more could one ask for?
Discover everything, see everything, quest everything and kill everything.
You should have the time of your life. I am.
I was wondering if all those, like me, that are getting the Error code=“48” have a ncsoft GB account? It could be trying to find us on the ncsoft US site.
Me too. I love this game to bits, it’s just fantastic. I am looking forward to all the little treats that Arena.net have in store for us.
As someone said in a post just the other day…..“Not a day goes by, that this game doesn’t make me smile”
You know you play too much Guild Wars 2 when
Your bum becomes stuck to the chair.
At this time of year, Bambi is a protect species. How else do you expect to get your presents?
And a Merry Christmas to you Santa thief.
Can I please have 350 gems and a legendary mince pie in my stocking this year?
Same xml error here. Waiting and gaining cobwebs.
I think they have deleted my old GW1 account. It will not allow me to link it to GW2 or log on to my old account at Ncsoft. It has been inactive for more than a year, but they should not have deleted it after I have paid for it.
I know my details are correct, so ncsoft owe me a game.Except that they haven’t deleted GW1 accounts due to inactivity ever to my knowledge – there are members in my GW1 guild who haven’t logged in for 2+ years and there accounts are still there.
Either you are using the wrong username/email/password or your account was deleted or banned because it got hacked…
You are correct. My apologies. It was a error on my part. I have now regained my account, but find something is wrong with the linking system. It keeps throwing up a script error.
As a guide, I have a HD7850 graphics card and i5 processor, and have everything on max except for supersample, and get solid 60 fps. If I activate supersample it dips to -40 fps.
Does your hardware fall into this bracket?
Update: Sorry I forgot. I also have shadows turned off because they are bugged.

I was paying a £12 monthly subscription. Now I plan only to spend half of that on GW2 per month.
So now, I am playing a far better game for half of what it use to cost me. That has to be a bargain.
You can buy a digital copy from quite a few other places that give you a game-key. You could then print it on to a card as a gift. They then add the key to their A.net account. And that’s it. They have a the full game next time they log in.
Came across my first bug today, where a bad buff (blindness) kept repeating it’s cool down. 1 bug in a week of solid play. If it had been any other game I would have come across a shed-load of bugs.
Well done and congratulations Arena.net on a game that is worthy of GOTY.
The op speaks the truth.
Never have I came across a mmo with such a variety and detailed zones/maps. You really never know what you are going to come across around the next bend.
I was only thinking to myself yesterday that it must have taken the dev’s millions of man hours to build these zones.
A week in and my first level 20 and the game keeps getting better and better.
I’m flipping loving it, and you say it’s only 3 months old? It’s in very good shape for a 3 month old mmo.
I too was baffled by the game. I didn’t know what I was suppose to do or what the heck was going on.
I am now 3 days in and getting to know how things work. Have no fear, things slowly start to become clear, half of the learning is half of the fun.
The great thing about GW2 is that when you do learn how something works, you can always go back and use that new information.
This helped me a lot…..

Well it has certainly regained my faith in mmo’s. It goes to show that they can be fully enjoyable, rewarding, entertaining, engrossing and free of monthly subscription.
I don’t think that I will have to think twice when it comes to buying any future expansions for GW2. I will even go against my usual stance on the matter, and buy a few gems from them. The game is both worth my time, and my money.
Agreed.
GW2 is the only mmo, that when I put down to get on with other worldly things, has left me with the warm, and cuddly feeling of accomplishment.
Other mmo’s that I have played in the past, usually left me frustrated and angry.
No, I’m not a hard core player, so hopefully I won’t experience any disappointment later on. I am only level 10, but seem to have got there really fast. I would put that down to the enjoyment I am getting out of the game.
So far I think this is the best MMO I have ever played, and unlike other MMO’s where you get the feeling that you are playing a single player game, GW2 feels truly multiplayer in quite a astonishing way.
Thanks guys.
Maybe the higher levels will improve by the time I get to them.
One other thing I have found I love about GW2 is that you can actually run away from the monsters. No more getting out run by them, or getting hit by them from the other side of the map.
I had given up on MMO’s forever, and then I happen to observe my Son playing Guild Wars 2. After watching him play for a hour he gave me the chair. Two hours later I bought the game for myself.
It really is different to all other MMO,s and a casual players dream. Do what you want, when you want, and I don’t think I have ever been grouped with other players so much in any other MMO.
I think I will side with Angry Joe here and give Guild Wars 2, a score of 10 out of 10 .
It’s only one or two games that I have problems with flickering textures, it use to be a lot worse years back with ATI cards. So they are getting better. Usually it gets ironed out either with new drivers or with game optimization.
I had some textures bobbing in and out and some flashing artefacts, mainly in the sky.
Things got better after turning my shader down to medium.
