I’ve found myself running into serious problems justifying Scrapper in PVE- at least as a damage dealer. It just doesn’t seem to synergize well with the rest of the talents available for damage… at least when using a hammer.

It was nice to see Forgal again. For a little while.
But what they did to Trahearne makes me never finish the story on any character ever again. I don’t even care for the rewards.
That part of the ending just stinks.
As for the egg:
My best guess is that Mordremoth’s death was like a chain reaction. Who knows? The jungle might be dying without Mordremoth, unless the mindless dragon’s body can survive on it’s own or act as a fertilizer.
Just think about it, Tarir was built as Glint’s legacy and the egg is part of that. Of course something would happen in that chamber. My hope for the egg is that it hatches. That’s all.

Wait, wait. WAIT. You liked Trahearne? Really?

My first character ever was a Sylvari Guardian- I went through my personal story and he came in as an advisor, a sage that knew about the undead. We went to get a powerful, magical sword that would help against Zhaitan’s minions. I did a cage-match to get it, I fought and fought for it, and finally, we got it. It looked neat, I was all excited. Then the Pale Tree gave it to him because he was the one chosen to beat Zhaitan, and I was some punk destined to be his errand boy.

kitten him.

I would imagine, since the maps are very event centric, you will start to see what you saw with the Silverwastes- people getting groups into maps with people and then taxiing more in through LFG, so the people doing all that stuff will be able to group up more easily.

I gotta agree with OP; suck it up. Difficult content was exactly what GW2 needed. It helps further that it is actually pretty fun. Some of the most fun I’ve had in this game came in this expansion- running around with a random Mesmer I ran into in the Tangled Depths and tracking down all the hero challenges with absolutely no guide. We got 10/11 of them, the only one we failed at is we couldn’t kill the Mushroom King. Hell, the end fight in the story is also really, really good. Nearly if not the best encounter in this game.

If you can’t get all the stuff immediately… so what? Its a friggan MMO people- you aren’t supposed to beat the kitten stuff in a week.

And now I just tabbed back into the game and this is what I see from another player http://imgur.com/PPAv6oK

People cannot complete the skill points without paying other players?! Oh my this is not going to be good in the long run.

I am pretty sure I know what skill challenge he’s talking about- you eat poisoned bacon that does like 3% of your health a second and disables all your skills except a heal that can’t solo cover it… unless you have the mastery unlocked that reduces incoming poison damage in Maguuma. In which case its easily done.

He’s basically paying people to avoid having to work on a Mastery. It has absolutely nothing to do with it being a difficult fight or something.

Why did it have to change from something you could do on your own to something that takes a such a large group? There are a couple I have attempted and there were at least 4 others there and we could not finish it. After we were killed there were no waypoints that were open so we could release and come back. That makes no sense in a game design.

I dunno which ones you are looking at, but I have yet to find one that couldn’t be defeated by 2-3 competent people. I just duo’d two of the timed champion fights in the first zone, and one of them I dang near solo’d. It was at like 10% health when the timer ran out.

As for waypoints being far away or under threat, they have said, repeatedly, that they wanted this expansion to be quite alot harder than the base game. I don’t mean to be well, mean, but you should consider practicing content that doesn’t involve stacking in one place with a zerg, if you want to do stuff in this expansion. I have now seen, time and time again, zergers get just dropped like a sack of hammers against the Legendary bosses up in the upper area of the Verdant Edge… often they’ll sit there spamming a high dps attack directly at the Wyverns feet while standing in the 4k/sec fire, then demand resses when they go down and.. are still in that fire.

Silverwastes – Poor reward design

in Living World

I seriously doubt it’s anywhere near 100G an hour.

From personal experience, it’s not. They respawn about every, oh, 5 minutes. The highest concentration of them is near the yellow camp. It’s pretty suicidal to go grab them during an attack, so realistically you get to open them about every 7-8 minutes. There’s 7-8 spawns in that immediate area, each one giving a single champ bag.

Unless you get seriously stupid lucky on the champ bag drops, it’s nothing like 100G an hour. 7-10 is what I’ve been averaging. The patterns that drop from them aren’t worth all that much and the sheer number of Tornado in a Jar trinkets for that collection that people have been getting has driven the sell value of them down to about 17 silver.

I mean, I don’t actually do it for the cash, because I have every one of my characters decked out in ascended weaponry and have absolutely zero interest in the legendaries, so I don’t really need money for much of anything. I do it because the zone is fun as heck.

That said I have two basic complaints about the zone:

1) The twin Teragriff fight seems specifically designed to troll players in this game. People tend to get used to the stack them and DPS thing, but you do that to that pair and they pretty much instantly kill everyone. It was funny watching dumb people do that at first, but as it stands now its mildly irritating. This may just be a case of people needing to just get better at it, but I have never, in playing it all week last week, seen a map actually 5/5 those bosses.

2) This is related to the above: The rewards for actually getting 4/5 (and probably 5/5) aren’t all that great, especially given that its relatively hard content. I mean, you’d see more effort out of people if say, you got a bag with 60 dungeon tokens of your choice for getting 5/5 completion.

I’ve been having issues getting the patch as well. Using pingplotter (a handy tool for diagnosing certain network issues) the problem seems to be with two level3 nodes between myself and the patch server. I’m in Baltimore on Verizon.

(Hop #6) – 4.68.62.133 (ae16.edge1.washingtondc12.level3.net) – Samples: 3901 – Average ping: 138ms – Packet loss: 91.1%

So I’d be inclined to say the problem’s with either level3’s routers or verizon’s choice of routes.

Restarting the patcher seems to help, it’ll run at full speed for about 5 minutes before dropping back to the 1-3k/s range.

In the Baltimore area on Verizon too; same deal.

That’s more or less the only decent thing though. Sense of community is gone, people are constantly yelling at each other in map chat because of WvW stuff, you now have to show up 20 minutes early to SB to not get overflowed into oblivion. Game performance has taken a big hit; things are laggy. I play this game on a beastly computer; I can run WvW on the highest possible settings and maintain 40+ fps while doing it, and this has quadrupaled all loading times.

That says nothing of the RP community getting obliterated.

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Juunro.7082

Juunro.7082

I can fix the zerker meta for you right now. It will never happen without a complete redesign of all the dungeons though.

Step 1) Remove any and all areas that allow groups to avoid boss damage by standing in a specific place.

Step 2) Reduce outgoing boss damage spikes but increase overall damage delt, especially environmentally. (EG: the fight against Sparki and Slick, or the Old Tom fight in Fractals 10+)

Step 3) Give bosses abilities that will do huge, nasty things unless certain conditions are met: “This Boss will pick someone at random and straight kill them unavoidably unless he gets hit by 15 stacks of bleeds within 15 seconds” for example.

Make fights more technical and less ‘I can avoid everything by dodging’, and you’d see if not the fall of the Go Zerk or Go Home thing, at least more build diversity.

Lots of complaints left and right, from hardcore “leets” to RPers about a system they haven’t even seen fully implemented, and won’t be until “later in the year”, according to their recent statements. That is what is offensive and illogical to me-the constant moaning about the known unknown, from all parties involved.

(For all the others that say that world will be “too populated”, just go back to those days in which the game was new. Relive those days, rather than just pretending the game is “better” when there are 3 people on a map. I LOVE doing stuff solo, being an introvert in real life, but it’s just not reasonable for me to think that this change is “bad” for the game at large-changes that have yet to take place and can still be fine-tuned.)

Nobody anywhere said it was going to be bad for the game at large. What we have been saying, over and over, is that it’s bad for roleplayers as it has thus far been described.

There needs to be a tag system because no automated system will be able to tell the difference between when someone is spending their time roleplaying and when they are just farting around in DR or any other place. The system has been described fairly in depth; it uses player metrics. Roleplaying metrics are inherently immeasurable using computer models; the computer can’t tell the difference between someone talking in character alot and someone using /say to spam a guild advertisement.

We don’t need to see the details to know that this is going to impact Roleplayers pretty heavily.

And to be honest, it does sound extremely elitist to want to play only with role players, especially given how TC is full. It does come off as a sort of “we don’t want to mingle with the unwashed masses”. Why should we judge every non-RPer as “unworthy”, and how dare you think I hate/do not roleplay just because I am not on TC? (Same concept with the big battles-how dare “leets” think that I am not good enough for their Tequatl run just because I am not part of their organized group, but am in the same map with them?)

Look, no roleplayer cares about playing around non-roleplayers. If they did, they’d be playing exclusively with guild groups, in which case this change means absolutely nothing.

Here, let me break down the concerns for you:

Total player pool is 1000 (made up number, but this is an example)

This pool was split into the following:

50 people on Roleplayer Server
200 people on standard server 1, 2, and 3.
50 people on standard server 4.
25 people on standard servers 5-19

People on 1,2, and 3 have a fine old time. People on 4-19 have a terrible time. But wait, now there’s megaservers! Now everyone is on server 1-10, and each of those have 100 people on it! There’s people to play with, overcrowding is reduced, huzzah!

But wait, half the people on the RP server were guesting to the RP server to RP part time. They don’t want to pay thirty dollars to go to that server full time, and don’t have any interest in leaving their WvW brackets.

Well, because only 25 of those roleplayers are from the same server, they always get prioritized into the same one of the megaservers. The other 25, the ones who were guesting, now cannot hope to get into the same server as the first half but one in ten times, by dint of there being 10 possible servers and no player control over what server you wind up on.

Hum.

Well, the 25 who happen to be from the RP server originally are suddenly having less fun! Many of their friends, people who weren’t around all the time but who certainly made the world seem more alive, are suddenly gone. It doesn’t matter that their overall amount of people to play with went up; they don’t mind these new people going and doing events and filling the zones, but the new people don’t really want to or care about roleplaying. To each their own, but the community of the roleplayers has been slashed dramatically, for no real reason, given that there is a simple solution to the problem. Which would be a tagging system.

Nobody here cares at all if you don’t want to roleplay. They aren’t going to get elitist at you. The problem is that a significant portion of the RP community is transient, and with this change will suddenly vanish because they cannot any longer actually FIND the other roleplayers.

If you see the RPers and want to join in, even though you don’t normally care? I am sure if you can manage to use complete sentences and don’t act like a ponce they will be very accomodating. Nobody is trying to exclude you; they are trying to avoid the exclusion of a large part of the current RP community.

-Tagging players as “RPers” or “non-RPers” is a dangerous precedent. I don’t trust it will help other than further dividing the community. Leave discrimination for when you do your LFGs. This game wasn’t made for role-players or impersonal, serious business-like, “uber” speed runners only. There’s a middle-ground, and all have the right to play the game.

This is very, very wrong. There is no discrimination going on here; you don’t get told to bugger off by roleplayers just because you are doing it casually. The system is already going to tag people with what it thinks they want to do anyway; it has been described as specifically keeping metrics on player activity and then sorting them by those metrics. How, exactly, is allowing players to set tags for what they want to do at that time in any way a bad thing? We’re not just talking about roleplaying here.

Let’s say you have just one character; it’s your first character, you have spent your time leveling up and doing heart completion. You have saved your monies up and bought some crafted exotic gear from the marketplace, and now you really want to try that Tequatl encounter you keep hearing about. Oh, wait, whoops, your entire play time to this point has been concentrated on doing leveling; now the system believes that’s all you want to do, and so every time you go into an instance for Teq, half the zone is low-mid levels that are just questing, making the encounter literally impossible.

Like any automated system, it will have flaws. Without any user-side ability to counter those flaws, they will be far more glaring.

A tagging system doesn’t need to be hugely complex; it could quite literally be just four different things: 1) Leveling 2) Raiding 3) Event (Champion) Farming and 4) Roleplaying. Everyone would then still be using the system to enter fuller, more alive areas but would be doing it with people who are also looking to play the game the way they want to. There is no drawback to this.

Remember, the basic zone layout is such that it limits each one to what, about 150 people? That sounds like alot… until you have to fight the wurms, or Teq, or the now-gone Marionette. This system will further hose any similar content as it stands now, much less screwing with the roleplaying community.

Right now it doesn’t much look like we’re included in that. We would like to be. That’s all.

It might look like it, but we can’t be sure. So instead of worrying your brain’s out for the next two weeks about something you cannot change, why not simply wait and see how things turn out? Nothing is as bad as it looks =)

Because wait and see rarely works, especially without providing some feedback in the interim. This isn’t to bash Anet or this mega-server thing; it is a good idea on the surface. The RP community just wants to make sure they can continue to exist after the changes; running into random non-RPers isn’t really the issue here, the issue is that RPing is more or less restricted to one server per region; suddenly those people are going to be tossed into the same pool as people from 26 other servers with very little control, meaning the only people you are going to be able to RP with are people you are guilded with or friends with, which ruins the thing to an extent.

Half the fun of RPing is meeting new people. Trying it out randomly on people who have zero interest won’t get you far.

I transferred over to Kaineng from SBI yesterday; they had a very competent commander in EoTM advertising that they needed numbers, and frankly, I was getting really, really tired of having 10 man groups get squashed by 70+ man FA zergs.

What I saw last night boded well; during Primetime and a little bit into SEA time, Kaineng had some very, very good coordination going on. Far better then I’d ever seen on SBI, to be honest. Small numbers holding back and checking larger zergs left and right, feints, just a generally high level of capability.

I will be honest; I don’t care much about the end of season rewards, not after last time around, and I don’t care much about losing as long as it was relatively close. Kaineng looks like it’s going to be quite a bit of fun.

My position summarized: “Most players are in failing events most of the time. This means there’s something wrong with the event, assuming the goal of this GAME is to have fun rather than feel frustrated all the time. Arenanet can resolve this by better tailoring their content to actual players and their actual abilities.”

Your position: “I personally find the content easy so there’s nothing wrong with it, the problem is the players stink. I don’t care if they feel frustrated and aren’t having fun, and I have no practical solutions to allow them to have fun, because it’s their fault for stinking.”

Alternatively, your position can be read as: “This content doesn’t coddle the least skilled elements of the playerbase, therefor it is poorly designed. Everyone ought to be able to do it with no effort whatsoever.”

And our position can be read as: “This content requires a modicum or ability to know and play your class and further, requires the players involved to be able to use some of the most basic skills involved with any MMO: eg, reading and using basic mechanics.”

I mean, if we want to talk about hyperbole, anyway.

Most players are certainly not failing this content most of the time though. As I have said over and over, most players that I have seen are succeeding the part of the event that they have been able to influence themselves. It is ludicrous to assume that when ninety percent of a group succeeds at something and then is forced to watch the remaining ten percent fail, and thus fail it for everyone that those ten percent won’t have vitriol tossed their way. This is especially true when those ten percent consistently fail it the same ways, after being instructed politely over and over and over again.

People aren’t really all that angry at the failure, they are angry at the total lack of investment of effort on behalf of those who fail.

facepalm

After reading one too many posts insulting players for failures, Ceridwen finally loses it. You have been warned.

Who’s responsible for an event (specifically the marionette) failing?

I’m responsible, you’re responsible, we’re ALL sodding responsible. Yes, everyone taking part is at fault. Co-operation is the nature of this event.

Why are we all to blame?

Much more text then is necessary to quote fully here

This if very often demonstrably false. This idea that everyone is at fault because it is a cooperative event. I have yet to be in a single instance of this fight where in the 5 minutes before the start, someone doesn’t out-right explain every single boss in easy terms. In better then 90% of cases, the Commander in the lane I am in does it again on /say right after the last chain was severed.

If these people cannot read what is being said, why are they on a US server? If they will NOT read what is being said, why are they playing a cooperative game? There is no excuse at this point. First day? Sure. First day of the first weekend? Sure. One or two people messing up? Sure. A whole platform wiping? No. No excuse for that.

I am going to now bash GW2 slightly: know that I actually do quite love this game.

This game is easy. It is; it’s hardcore content is extremely limited. It’s encounters largely do not require extensive use of tactics or tactics discussion. Even it’s very hard content pales in comparison to some other MMO’s out there.

The Marionette is relatively difficult content as far as GW2 is concerned in that it is content that cannot be facerolled. I had a buddy sign into GW2 for the first time in 6 months the other day and asked him, apropos of nothing, if he wanted to check out the new boss. He was playing a ranger. I explained the basic mechanics, he came with, and he flawlessly beat both lane 2 and then lane 5, going so far as to even make sure to control his pet in lane 5 so the stacking tactic worked. This is someone who hadn’t played the game in 6 months and who had never seen the encounter before in person.

This buddy is a veteran MMO player, but not really in GW2. He leveled up one character to 80. He played some EQ2, alot of WoW, and some EVE. He never played any high level content in GW2 beyond a level 2 Fractal and a couple of dungeon runs. He’s not a hardcore player.

If you mess up a lane as badly as managing to wipe, it is your fault. People will be angry at you for it. Deal with it.

The marionette event would have been fine if Anet had allow people who finished their platforms to help out on the other platforms.

Ultimately, the acidic environment is a result of Anet fight design decisions.

Unfortunately, all that would do would be to make it so easy it becomes just another boring zerg-fight, or they would have to scale the champions up so much that it would become an extreme DPS test and be unfun.

The better solution is to read the fight mechanics, bring a weapon set that isn’t terrible for the fights, and make dang sure your dodge key is bound.

If I may be frank?

We will stop blaming other players when other players stop being to blame.

Today, we had a group manage to somehow wipe on the very first champion; the south path had a platform with 5 people on it all somehow die to this boss. Not just fail the mechanics, but fail them so hard they actually wiped.

Time and time again, myself and many, many others have been in a situation where 4 platforms of any boss have perfectly completed the fights with a full minute left and then find themselves staring across at a platform with two rangers and two thieves playing Kite the Minelaying Boss In Circles. Or a platform with all melee in zerker gear that charged into the third boss and kept chasing it in circles directly into the highly visible and easily avoidable hover bombs. Or a whole group that utterly ignored the ground AOE’s on boss 4.

And so on, and so on.

If they are not to blame for their own complete lack of basic competence causing the rest of us to fail an event and thus get dramatically lower loot, then who is?

Dear Anet:

This encounter is great. I thoroughly enjoy it; that tempo, that nail-biting watching of the timer, praying that each platform succeeds. This is exactly what your game is good at; encounters with huge amounts of chaos, using siege weapons to hold back never-ending waves of enemies, getting into small scale fights against elite enemies with abilities that have to be countered as if we were playing an action RPG more then an MMO. This is the most fun encounter I’ve participated in in your game in the approximately 9 months I have had it; the only other ones I liked as much were the twin bosses at the end of the Molten Foundry and the Pirate duo at the end of the Aetherblade Retreat.

So please, please, for the love of god, lay off the giant single monster encounters. Your game’s mechanics aren’t terribly well suited for them. We don’t need four or five huge dragons; every MMO has huge ‘epic’ encounters and, to give them their due, nobody does it as well as that other ridiculously popular MMO that’s been around since 2004.

When you do the next phase of the living story, after Scarlett is dealt with, please focus the encounters on things your game does better then any other MMO I have ever played. I, and I’ll bet quite a few others, want to fight giant battles against literal armies, taking fortifications, holding back counter-attacks, taking out strategic enemy points. You know the fractal where you attack Ascalon with the Charr? That, writ large, should be what your future raid encounters should be like. Because without the holy trinity, the only mechanics you can come up with for large single monsters are going to be things that are too dependent on people not having latency issues, people not showing up in bad gear, and people not showing up not knowing or being willing and able to listen to how to do the things required to win. I am looking at you, Tequatl cannon AFK’ers.

After playing that other game for 9 years I find yours to be great fun, but I look at it with systems in place that aren’t being utilized to make it as remarkable as it could be. My Dragon is more epic then your Dragon is a dumb argument to be getting into; it should be “While your off fighting your dragon we’re leading an army to victory and holding the line against a never ending foe.”

So I says to myself, I says:

“I’m not a bad warrior, but I could certainly use to be better at 1v1 fights. I do alright in 5v5 sized and above, but I really could use some practice fighting other people 1 on 1. I’ll go check out the new Arena area, maybe get some practice in. I mean, Maguuma roamers were scary as hell last time we fought, so why not practice against the best?”

Then I got there.

I am the only active player actually in my guild; every time my little axe wielding Asura warrior gets into a fight, it’s technically a gvg.

And I win more then half of those I get into.

So you basically saying FA is always guaranteed to beat you? like i said before, our pops are in the same class, if this was boxing we would be in the same weight class. Its actually quite sad if you guys really truely believe that nothing you do actually matters. I kinda wish you could just throw in the towel, so we could stop beating up a souless husk

I am saying nothing of the sort. In fact, I rather specifically said the people who actually like WvW on SBI as anything other then a karma train will keep fighting you tooth and nail regardless of the score.

What I was saying is that as far as league score goes, it does not matter what anyone on FA/SBI/YB does this week, as mathematically the placement is pretty well locked in.

We are in the same class, weight wise, that’s true. I think we’ve got more fairweathers then you, but probably not by much. You managed to shock and awe ours off the field before we could do the same to you; for which I give kudos. It’s not like SBI is unique in that regard; every single week it’s always been very strong weekend into whatever server is in last place largely stopping by about monday, allowing whatever server is in first by dint of coverage to take their stuff and increase the lead.

My point was that without some kind of system by which a come-from-behind win can actually happen, it’s hard to maintain pop levels throughout the week beyond the weekend, meaning usually you can tell what the final placement is going to be by around noon Monday.

I am sure FA had the same issue when you were fighting up in tier 2; you’d get crushed after a strong weekend by servers that out-coordinated and out-numbered you and half your guys would up and quit due to being demoralized before the end of the week, locking in the placements. Hell, I know for a fact we did that to you in the league placement matches. Though some people will claim you intentionally tanked to avoid going into Gold, I don’t think I believe that.

doesnt everyone in every wvw match up thread swear they can beat twice the amount of their opponents? i see it numerous times in this thread.

They do, and it’s generally bullkitten. Here’s how most zerg fights goes down for the most part:

Zerg 1 goes after an objective: Zerg 2 responds defensively, using the walls and siege to weaken Zerg 1.

Zerg 1 either breaks through the doors and slams into Zerg 2, except now with lesser numbers and having to push a choke point; get’s badly mauled.

Zerg 1 breaks and runs and gets attacked from behind, Zerg 2 declares victory.

Or

Zerg 1 is running between objectives; it has a comet tail at puggers distracted by gathering nodes, guard posts, yaks, whatever. They are not on voice-chat with the leaders of Zerg 1.

Zerg 2 hits this comet tail and rapidly kills a third or more of the strength of zerg 1 before zerg 1 can reasonably react.

Zerg 2 hits Zerg 1 now with greater numbers in the field, claims victory and chest-thumps for having killed a greater number opponent using tactics.

I mean, there are exeptions, but full on we have all buffs zerg hits zerg at full strength fights are not commonly what happens.

Unfortunately, there is little reason to go back in this week unless you, gasp, enjoy WvW.

I said earlier, and it’s true, that the standings this week have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on where anyone ends the season. The point totals are locked in place. This means that unless you actually genuinely enjoy WvW for what it is, like me and most anyone you actually see in there this week, you don’t really have a reason for playing past getting dailies done. Losing exacerbates the situation.

I think it’s an issue with the scoring system; there is no reasonable way to pull a come-from-behind win in WvW once you get past a certain point spread. Can it happen? Sure. But it’s exceedingly rare; I have seen it happen all of once in the 7 months or so I have been playing this game. There isn’t much impetus for a losing team’s casual players to show up, and at least in this league/tier, the amount of casual bodies you have to throw into the zerg counts for quite alot. Chest thump all you want about practice and siege placement and skill; it makes a difference, but it doesn’t make up for 20 having to fight 60. Ask Maguuma; when we fought them in the leadup to the league we were getting absolutely schooled on an individual level. I won’t lie; those guys roamers roll deep and hard, and are absolutely some of the scariest players I’ve played against in this game to date. But they just don’t have the numbers to do much with it.

So… discount numerical advantage all you want, it does make much of the difference. And in the time periods where we manage to equal you FA, we were trading places for first for a solid couple of days. Respect where it is due.

Me, I’m going to keep fighting when I’m online. Because it’s fun, because it’s good practice, and because I can’t stand pugging fractals. Also beating up bad hammer warriors and bad mace/GS warriors using theorycrafted forum builds amuses me to no end.

Full exotics are ridiculously easy to get. Hell, if you don’t level up a craft whilst leveling and just sell all the crafting materials you collect, you should have more then enough money for a full set of them right off the bat.

My Guardian was my very first character and it took me three days from dinging 80 to get a set of exotics. And that was well before the “Here, have a giant pile of WvW marks just for getting achievement points” thing.

Heck, you should have enough Karma just from doing stuff while leveling for a full set from any of the Orr temples; might not be the stat line you specifically want, but it’ll certainly be good enough to close the gap in any content you really want to do, long enough for you to farm the cash to get the stat line you specifically want.

This game is completely not P2W.

Apropos of nothing, perma-stealth specced thieves will always, always get emoted at when they die, unless they are actively trying to get an objective such as a ruin. Because the only way for me to kill you is if you kitten up.

For example, the one from DB last night that I went three rounds with in the ruins? You are a pretty cool guy; shame we got interrupted by 7 FA.

The one from FA that spent all evening tapping the SE tower and then blinking away the second someone hit him so much as once? You are terrible and had I been able to catch you without getting jumped by three of your friends, I would have spiked your kitten and then tea-bagged your skull, unapologetically.

Anyway, rant aside, been having fun so far. Shame about the matchup though; I think the last week being FA/SBI/YB would have been great fun; heck, having the last round of the leagues being the top three servers in the league is how it ought to really have been.

Seems to me the math works out like this:

If SBI gets first this week, we’ll be catapulted into… well, 3rd place.
FA getting 2nd will still have them win the league.
YB would have to somehow get 2nd, which isn’t going to happen, for us to tie them for 2nd.

If FA got third by some mircale, YB and them would tie for first, while SBI got 2nd.

On the other hand, if SBI gets third this week, we’ll still get third place for the whole thing.

So… SBI has no reason to come out this week other then the honor of trying to kick FA square in the nuts in a rematch after week one. Which is an acceptable objective, if you ask me.

Though it WOULD be hilarious if you guys got third and had to split the 1st place with YB, though the odds of that are pretty low.

Me? SBI is the only server I have ever played on, and before this league my highest rank character was like… 8. My warrior last week hit rank 108. It’s been intensely fun, and a full condi-build with a longbow, dropping 1k/tick fire in huge circles from the battlements of keeps onto zergs has proven to be ridiculously entertaining.

Edit: I actually didn’t play much last week, as the whole match was just sour; the double team, the back and forth on the forums, the trolls trolling trolls, the out-right cheating from some parties. And then Planetside 2 declared double exp for most of last week and I was like “Nuts to this, I am going to go shoot Vanu for the Republic.”

Heeeh. Stupid barnies.
