MM is still bad even with the AI changes because you can’t control who the minions go after so it’s viable at a competitive level no matter what you do unless you are trying for a close/far node 1v1 against a class that doesnt do as well against AI like a thief or warrior unless he’s hambow of course

you wont be able to beat a shield slam warrior with stuns as a MM necro definitley since you run without a stunbreak because you are using all minion you could remove 1 of your minions and take spectral armor or spectral walk for a semi second stunbreak

Where are you guys using this build?? No matter what you do because the minion AI is completely off whack right now ANY minion build will be sub-par.
Are you guys winning in Spvp?
If so I highley doubt your wins are attributed to the spec of one player ( yourself) on your team.
Are you playing Tpvp?
Then I can slightly see how you may contribute to a team win by point holding, and that is about it.
Are you playing WvWvW?
Then I would argue your pets are getting demolished in the aoe zerg.
Like stated earlier. Until minion AI is fixed MM builds are always going to be behind other builds. It might be really really fun to play yes, but ultimately not the best choice right now =(

if you time your wells you will almost always have one off cd unless you are doing NOTHING BUT STANDING THERE CASTING WELLS WHICH IS BAD

Karandor is so right and with the reduced cd on wells from what Andele said:Also true that Well of Blood, Well of Corruption and Well of Darkness are really strong when it comes to fighting about a point of ground, but the thing with them is that its well worth giving up 60% of a cap time for plain not fighting when necros have em up on the ground and just charging back in, light field, whirl finisher, save into purity and in either spvp, wvwvw and tpvp (if it aint a lone offensive guardian what i never actually saw), you wont be able to do anything to stop em. thats why we have 3 a bad necro throws them all down at once….
a good necro times them i wait until my target has 5+ boons be4 i lay down my well IT REMOVES ALL 5 BOONS IMMEDIETLY so even if they “step out” they still have conditions allowing me 2 switch to scepter and add bleed ticks on them THEY LOSE EITHER WAY you rly need 2 stop downing everything about a necro andele sounds like a l2p issue

That was a very long sentence.

lol ya it was just trying to show people that we have the best aoe condition/boon removal in the game via our wells and that tournaments are a heck of a lot different than spvp or pve (spvp=zerging and fighting off nodes tpvp=fighting on nodes they r kitten if they stand off the node to get out of our wells we then cap the point or they r kitten if they stand in them having no buffs and a ton of conditions

QSpec.4298 – yes since you can totally actually host a game and invite people cross servers… /facedesk

actually you can just add them to your friendslist and grp up i run tournaments with people on jades quarry and anvil rock and we all grp up and do spvp together as well one of you just enter a match and the others right click that persons name and hit join friend in pvp and let me rephrase my previous comment i do not run a condition spec atm i run a bunker spec during tourneys and if im solo running spvp i take out the last 10 points in soul reaping and put them into +20% condition duration and take my +healing increase with each kill off my dagger and exchange it with a +condition for each kill i also exchange the shamans jewel for a carrion but i still keep my shamans amulet and i could easily record and post videos of me 1v1ing guardians and such in spvp but we all know 90% of the people in spvp are 1.just learning their class 2.trying out weird and out of the box specs so they wouldnt be viable and im the bunker for my tourney team so the fights usually last several minutes and even if im winning their team’s roamers or my team’s roamers come and jump in to either help him or me which is why i said it would be easier to do it the way i suggested i have a fatal muscular breakdown diease that is not curable so im on GW2 quite often

going to say this as nicely as i can….i can 1v1 anything but a mesmer its a l2p issue or if your in wvw your probly not lvl 80 go scepter/dagger staff conditions build problem solved

Post videos I highly doubt the people you have played are skilled then.

better idea bring skilled people 2 gates of madness and we can take turns dueling my necro??? let me rephrase that go into a empty spvp match there

Well no, what would make it super strong is if it were a stun break.

no it would be super strong if it was a spectral skill because u could take 20% off its cd in your traits stack healing power and get 1k extra healing per condition and become unkillable that would be op so plz dont make it a spectral skill

if you are a power build ive seen the lich form crit for 4.5k-5k every hit lich form=power build golem=useless like the rest of our minions plague form=bunker/condition spec

definitely a L2P issue.

I play a power/toughness/precision/vit well build with mostly dagger + warhorn and I have no problems in 1v1s ever in WvW. I use to have trouble with mesmers and thieves but I dominate pretty much anything now.

Necros have some problems with traits and bugged abilities and some very dumb design decisions but we are one of the 1v1 kings.

WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS INSIST ON USING THE USELESS WARHORN!

Death Shroud doesn’t remove stuns…

didnt say it removed stuns but if a warrior bull charges you or you get knocked down or dazed you can still go into death shroud and still can fear or if you feel like it eat the burst with your life force in death shroud

that toughness to power trait is useless no reason to spec for it or go that far into death magic if you are a condition build i use 5 piece afflicition with 1 grenth for extra cond dmg on a side note (more cond duation>small amount of cond dmg)

Ezekeel you dont “spam gound template spells” the entire tbh a full condition build actually uses mainly death shroud skill number 2 and scepter skill 1 and 2 and offhand dagger skill 5 obviously you have no experience with the condition build and i doubt necromancer itself so please stop posting

andele i am on the gates of madness server i run tourneys most days and challenge any guardian to a 1v1 you may come and watch my necros name is nisseesi i KNOW my necro can kill a solid built lolguardian or ranger so plz bring some challengers as for my spec i run a slight variant of my tourney bunker build just moved a few traits around and added some more dmg its 0 in spite 10 in curses pick up hemophilia 20 in death magic grab marks cannot be blocked and wells apply protection for 3 secs 20 in blood magic grab reduced cd on wells and mark of blood when u dodge 20 in soul reaping grab redcued cd on death shroud skills and marks generate life force when used my armor set is the undead 6 pc with shamans amulet and carrion gem hydromancy on staff +condition dmg for each kill on scepter and 50% endurace restored on wep swap on my dagger i hardly EVER stay on 1 wep and spam auto attack and such im always poping in and out of death shroud the second its off cd or switching between my weps for life force/cc’s and dmg as you can see im NOT a glass cannon and i use well of blood and well of darkness/corruption/power so i have 3 ways to remove conditons via staff and dagger/well omg no stun break? bad necro nah death shroud=free stun break and Andele im not going to go through the trouble of going into tourney matches over and over until i find a “solid built guardian or ranger and 1v1 them” ive done it be4 i know i can and thats enough for me

ya they have a name for those specs its called burst dont ask for condition to do burst dmg. and no it doesnt take a while for conditions to start hurting grasping dead enfeebling blood then death shroud (another enfeebling blood if your specd for it) and dark path easy 12-13 bleeds plus if you pre laid a mark thats another 2-3 bleeds even if you have terrible condition dmg and they are only ticking for 100 a piece thats 1.5k a second ontop of poison plus your skills base dmg (how to counter burst:stun break dodge roll fear chill gg)

andele the guardian bunker spec is by no means superior to the necro bunker spec i use shamans amulet with a clerics gem and the 6 piece undead rune set with healing per kill increase on my staff and freeze/bleed on my scepter/dagger i trait into wells apply protection and the reduced cd on wells plus death shroud stability my well when i have 25 stacks of heal increase does 6.2k healing over 10 secs plus gives 3 secs of protection to everyone my guild had our guardian bunker spec to dmg because i actually lasted just as long as him and all of my wells gave a better overall benefit seeing as how they cant be dispelled (their benefits that is) so i agree with kryshade 100% and i do think there is a lot of l2p issues

well seeing how necros minions are pretty much useless and take up utility slots that would be much much better suited for other skills i see no reason to use the axe

there is nothing wrong with the necros condition build the number 4 from offhand dagger throws any conditions on you to your target plus the number 4 on the staff removes all the conditions on you and throws them to your target and if that isnt enough you also have plague signet i have no problem killing any condition spec class 1v1 in tourneys i just throw all their dots back on them i find necros condition spec to be extremely powerful

imo i would take scepter and dagger offhand with staff as the other wep to switch to during combat the axe is good for 1 thing stacking vulnerability debuffs in a power spec thats it dagger mainhand has a root attacks faster and generates 3-4x more life force if your a condition build you will run with scepter and dagger with staff as your other wep if your power you will most likely run double dagger with staff as your switchable wep during combat your staff has all of your combo fields and finishers and a aoe fear i feel the axe is quite useless and condition builds are always stacking bleeds with scepters auto attack our bleeds dont have the uptime for us to switch to the staff and switch back before the bleed stacks are alrdy gone so staff>scepter>dagger>axe

actually i dont trait DS for condition removal i run 0/10/20/20/20 i grab hemophilia (so i can 1v1 at the node im guarding without having to call for help and its nice aoe bleed abilities) and the offhand dagger ability deathly swarm transfers 2 of your conditions currently active on you to your target and the number 4 staff skill does as well i also spec into decreased cd on wells and wells grant protection for 3 secs i run the full 6 set rune of undead with +250 healing on staff and offhands are 50% endurance back and freeze foes for 3 secs sigils with well of darkness and well of blood and the condition removal on allies well and the converts boons to conditions on foes with the shamans amulet because the extra healing power helps the well of blood heal over time and the staff skill heal over time

i have played over 400 spvp games and 100 tourney games on my necro as both condition and bunker spec both are 100% viable in tourneys (my guild actually had our engi go burst spec) the amount of survivability a bunkermancer has if specd and traited correctly is one of the highest out of all the bunker specs IF YOU USE DEATH SHROUD FOR MORE THAN A PANIC BUTTON. our condition spec is also very viable and can solo anything but a mesmer does our scepter do as much base dmg as crossfire? no but having 3 condition transfers/removals (4 if you use plague signet) gives us access to so much more dmg and utility i honestly see nothing wrong with necromancer besides some bugs (and in my opinion hemophilia should be +50% bleed duration like a warriors :P) im always popping in and out of death shroud and the amount of aoe dmg for point guarding is amazing
