I’ll say “definitely” not to actual weapon swapping on ele.

However I’d love if we could have an out-of-combat weapon swap. You can already do that easily in the inventory but unequipped weapons don’t remember their last position and get mixed with regular weapons (even with special bags, ascended ones do), and having them in your hero panel would help a lot.

My $0,02:. I actually like the Tempest and I will probably be using it. The biggest thing that’s troubling me with it is the presentation – overload animations are, frankly, just terrible. They are either reused hero point channel animations (water and air), a subpar overused spinning animation (warrior, thief) or the worst offender of them all – earth overload /point emote.

What should have been a cool surfing stance on an avalanche turned out to be a /point emote on a tall, narrow, barely animated rock that glides over terrain.

Water overload also definitely needs a water dagger #5 blast animation at the end of the channel so we actually see the big heal at the end.

Please stop making us press CTRL constantly

My pinky is literally hurting after playing GW2 because it’s instinctively constantly holding Ctrl and Alt… really uncomfortable hand position if you play for longer times.

[Suggestion] Gem store consumables wallet

So, dunno about you but I personally keep most of my gem store consumables from login rewards or BLCs in my bank. On the rare occasion I actually need one and want to use it, I don’t simply because it’s not in my inventory – I can’t even be tempted to spend one if I wanted in that moment, if I needed them in a fractal gone awry. This is bad both for the player and for ANet since these items are used more rarely and just collect dust in our storage.

I have a suggestion that would improve this game both for the players and improve ANet’s profit margins – an account-wide gem store consumable item mini-wallet, located here (click for image), next to the current wallet icon.

It’s not intrusive yet it’s easy to access. You’d click on this small icon in your inventory to open an interface similar to the currency wallet’s, with one change – next to the gem store item consumable and the number you own, you’d have a button that says “activate”. Click it, confirm in a confirmation dialog and there you go, it’s done!

At any time during your gameplay, you can open this wallet and use your revive orbs, instant trading post summons and merchants, repair kits, fun boxes, maybe even boosters, with only a few clicks of your mouse and without worrying on which character you left them yesterday.

The player advantage is obvious – you get a huge QoL improvement and actually get to use these items on all your characters, whenever you need them, without spending inventory space on them.

The ANet advantage, which I think is also important because this convenience could cut into their bank slot / inventory slot sales? Dramatically increases the demand and value of these items by making them more convenient to use. Players are surely going to spend more of these items on a whim if they are able to than if they have to go to their bank and pick them up every single time in preparation.

Most think these items are already too expensive to be part of regular gameplay and rarely buy them in the gemstore. I think this is partly because they already get many of them in BLCs and daily login rewards as unwanted loot and never actually use them. I know I’d personally use many more of them, rather than keeping them on my storage alt, if it were more convenient for me. What do you think?

edit: This kind of interface improvement could also be used for various tonics or toys but I didn’t want to get into it since it’s debatable if it would be worth for ANet to make these items so easily accessible to any character throughout the account. So I’d ask you to refrain from demanding even more because it will make this idea even less likely to be implemented

Add a separator line in wallet preview

Simple feature that would make the wallet much neater – add one line, a separator or just blank row between Guild Commendations and dungeon tokens (in the window which appears when you hover over your money in the inventory window). It just seems a bit cluttered now and splitting it into two “groups” would help a lot, especially when you just want to take a quick peek and check something out.

I agree completely. Some further ideas I’d like to see implemented:

1. Consumable item slots. It’s so much more enjoyable when you have a separate slot ( or slots) for consumable items. You don’t feel it’s a burden and just clogging inventory space, you don’t have to worry about accidentally selling it, you can easily see how many more of these items you have and you can easily activate it without finding it in your inventory first. Not to mention that you won’t have to keep opening your inv in the middle of the combat.
Adding to this idea, ADD ACTUAL ANIMATIONS when using consumables! I mean, they are already in the game – the engineer potion drinking animation can be used when you drink a potion, and one of the countless eating animations when using food buffs.

2. Option to disable allied targeting when in combat. I can’t think of a single reason why I would like to target an ally in the combat – I can heal or buff him without targeting him, I can check his hp by hovering over him (if I don’t have him in the party window already); the only thing it does is makes it impossible to target specific enemies in a zerg.

3. Don’t mix annual currencies with regular crafting materials. There’s already a category in our collectibles bank for festive stuff and it only has halloween and winter stuff in it. Make it so it also contains SAB stuff (1st April), queen’s gauntlet (It’s annual, right?) etc. Also, finally add bank slots for doubloons, I think you still have to keep them in your bank instead of collectibles slots?

4. Fix ride the lightning stopping player’s autorun when it finishes casting (I doubt it’s intentional since some times it doesn’t do that). Also, not getting near enough enemies to actually blow up – you just end up stuck to the champion, unable to move or cancel the skill. Either make skill nr.1 when transformed a cancel ability (like we had in fire aspect in the bazaar), or make it so it “rides” us into the middle of the enemy mob, or at least much closer to it.

Bring Previewing back.

I totally agree with OP. Preview was buggy in maybe 5 % of cases, and even then it could have been fixed by re-previewing that armor piece – and I’d rather have a mild clipping issue than being unable to preview any other armor type! It doesn’t make sense since armors aren’t restricted by race.

Party members aren’t always in visual range. On many occasions I get a party invite from a guildie and I’m not sure if it’s a guild party or a pug (which matters because I don’t know whether to speak in English or not) – among other things.

It’s for balancing purposes, not gonna get changed. Why would you even complain as a thief, don’t you have very low cooldowns anyway since you have to manage it with initiative?

Are you guys actually seriously considering this? Inflation would be ridiculous. There are people with 1k gold already, this would mean they get 10 % (100 gold) just by having that money in their bank, and each month they’d add that much gold into the economy without actually doing anything? It’s posts like these that just clutter this subforum and block actual good suggestions from reaching top…

Totally agree. GW1 had great skill descriptions, I hoped for even better descriptions in GW2 – not worse. Introducing activation times was good but it’s not enough – keep improving it!

UI transparency

Please let us manually adjust UI windows’ transparency! It’s very annoying when I cant properly read how much karma I have because it overlaps with the chat window. Same applies also to bank access and depositing/withdrawing gold. I would also like to be able to have chat window transparency somewhere in between invisible window/blocking everything behind it.

Burning duration icon

Currently, we get barely any useful information from the burning icon on the enemy. If you see the burning indicator at 50 %, it could be 50 % of a 10 second burn (which means the burning lasts for 5 more seconds), or it could be a full stack (30 seconds) in which case you should know that it’s pointless to stack it any more.

My proposal is to have the burning icon always at 30 seconds max (or 60, I’m honestly not sure what’s the max stacked duration atm). That way if you see the burning icon at 25 %, you know that the burning condition will last for precisely 7.5 seconds (or 15) every single time.

A similar idea was mentioned on reddit, I’m not sure if you’re coming from there. I think it’s a great idea, a similar thing can be done for other cities too but maybe only if you have 100 % completion in that city.

Contact list management - groups

We really need some way to organize our contacts. Being able to create custom groups and then move contact to them would help a lot (for example, I could have a guild contacts group, dungeon group, tournament team group, etc).

Petition for Elementalist Greatsword

I’d love it, to be able to give my main ele a legendary sword, not some tiny daggers that can’t even be seen because of armor clipping. :P
However, I don’t think it will be happening, at least not any time soon. Designing 20 new skills is a lot of work, not to mention when other professions start complaining why they didn’t get a new weapon too.

So.. Maybe in a few years in an expansion?
