Wolf rank here; I’ve encountered at least 3 – 4 dragon rank players on the last 8 ranked matches.

1.) The Revenant (or specifically the Herald) is designed to be stuck with his utilities. That’s why we have two legends on swap.

2.) Yes, there are some racial skills which might useful be in a rare situation on special conditions. The only problem is, that they have to be reworked specifically for the revenant because of energy costs and whatsoever.

3.) Something like that would make Glint alone way too OP. Imagine perma-protection (Facet of Chaos) with a reduced upkeep of -3 through traits. That’s crazy. Especially for PvP.

Well, you can have both. Use Retribution, Invocation and Herald. Although you lose some dps without Swift Termination, you’re tankier.

Nerfing and then saying “revenant will be in a much better spot” doesn’t fit together in one sentence. Sorry, but gutting Shiro to death would ruin the revenant or make them far from playable in PvP. The mobility coming from Shiro has already been nerfed by adding a CD to Phase Traversal.
It would be far better to buff or even rework Mallyx and all the other legends except Glint and Shiro.

It would, yes. But we have more than enough professions who use greatswords for now.

Uhm… Some of these changes are really overtuned, especially for PvP. Let me give you a few examples which caught my eye:

1. Swift Termination change: Basically Panic Strike + Executioner in one trait. Let’s be honest, this change alone would make Power Shiro seriously OP in 1v1 situations.
2. Chaotic Release change: Unblockable and 40% more dmg? I don’t have anything against cd reduction but it is already punishing enough to get caught in that skill. Any group fight would be in favor of the group with the rev.
3. Malicious Reprisal change: You mean 5 secs of unlimited unblockable attacks? Something tells me that you hate professions with block chains. This + Swift Termination change and you eat Meditrappers for breakfast.
4. Dismantle Fortifications change: You really hate everyone who stacks stability, don’t you?
5. Banish Enchantment change: Necros do a far better job at that.
6. Embrace the Darkness change: I’d rather have the old EtD back.
7. Vengeful Hammers change: Pulsing slow? In regards to us having far too little access to slow, I would say yes but everyone else would disagree heavily.

I wonder what others have to say or what you have to say about my feedback.

I sure hope so. Take my spec for instance:

1. FX-6350
2. GTX 460
3. 8 GB RAM
4. 64bit-Client

Set graphics to max. (Yes, you can play without much FPS loss at max graphics in certain areas.)Then go to the hole in Tarir, which leads to the underground of the city, jump through it and try to activate your glider. There is maybe a 20% chance not to die. And I think on a higher spec, it isn’t that much better.

Yup, works as intended. UA is a skill where you stick to your target until it ends no matter how far your target ports. It’s just shadowstepping to your target with damage on each hit.

Is this thread for real? CoR is, as aforementioned by Lonewolf Kai, very easy to avoid by moving to the left or right whereas RF follows your step. Sorry but whoever gets caught in max range CoR deserves it.

At the cost of 30 energy per use which is much and should not be spammed unless you want to die when your legend switch is on CD.
And the ranger can immobilize you for god knows how long with his elite and use Lightning Reflexes to get away. Then we have the Endure Pain of the ranger called Signet of Stone and not to mention Sword #2 and #3 and GS autoattack and #3 and Dagger #4 to dodge or GS #4 to block and #5 to daze or stun depending on positioning. Oh and I completely forgot that ranger pets can taunt you. So it’s completely untrue that rangers are designed to be doomed in close range.

And if things get ugly, Glint heal is your Oh-Snap-button.

You can’t do much except die and repeat. This bug hasn’t been fixed yet.

I recommend looking at this build. It’s in the meta and pretty good TBH. It’s basically a powerbased build with tanking capabilities because of the shield heals and Soothing Bastion (which is basically another Shield #5).

Because it’s ArenaNet R.R. Martin. :P

OP be ready to be disappointed again because chances are you won’t be able to rush hero point in the jungle without doing any content. You will certainly have to boost some masteries to get access to all the needed hero challenge.
You wanted to enjoy the content? You’ll better do it because I really believe you won’t be able to unlock your herald build by rushing the content.

Rushing things is the reason why a game gets pretty boring pretty fast. AFAIK, raids won’t be out until a few weeks later, so there isn’t even a point in rushing things.

It’s pretty much up to you; but perma-(insert one of the following: might, fury, regen, swiftness, protection) is pretty neat with almost every other legend.

well, i’d rather have shortbow than longbow because of the dreamer xD and a horse legend on top of that :P

Just look for some official retailers… Usually they offer HoT for a more reasonable price.

And I personally doubt that Anet will be willing to face the coming kitten storm in asking players to grind 170 hero points to unlock an elite specialization, and then do it for each of their alts . We’ve already seen them back down over much less.

True, I am shooting to have all 8 of my characters at 100 and that is WITH reading about the debate here and making a concerted effort to do hero challenges. Both the easy ones and the ones that make me want to put a fist through my monitor.

I can virtually guarantee that the average (note average, we are not talking vets, elites, etc) player of GW2 will not have 100 at the drop. Since many of them bought HOT (so had access to the BWEs) they already have a taste of the elites and would spit fur if they could not roll an elite with all the traits they have been watching on points of interest.

Assuming the datamine is just a placeholder all we can do is speculate. I see several major places it could be at:

only needing a level 80: this would fit with precedent and their statements that you only need an 80 to use HOT things (ie, elites)

65 pts (or was it different) to make up for what they gave us after getting blowback when they changed skills/traits before

85-90 pts …. this represents the cost of a trait line (60) and the average of a skill line (25)

100 pts …. a nice round number

I see VERY low odds of more than 100 and the odds will drop precipitously.

Sure, they will probably ask for more for the skins. Let those be the ‘bragging rights’ things people want to show off with. As long as they do not make the cost of entry higher for just playing the character.

As to the skins, they would have to be REALLY good for me to want to burn HPs on them anyway. About the only exception is the blindfold for the revenant and that is not an elite.

Also, we should keep in mind that Anet plans more elite specializations with each expansion and it would make very little sense to completely burn your hero points for unlocking one elite specialization.

Because grinding the mats or the gold together is plain boring and tedious.

I do have world completion on the toon I plan on using the most, and I only have 200 hero points on her. I did the Krait Obelisk in my friends instance, so where are the other 14 points? Is there a list of non-world map hero points somewhere?

What about Dry Top and Silverwastes? AFAIK, they also have hero challenges.

edit: Also WvW has some hero challenges.

But is there not a chance that the runes and sigils (or recipes for them) could be rewarded at one of the lower blank “item” intervals?

And what’s to say that the upgrades won’t be available through the TP? Currently the profession-specific runes are trade-able.

Frankly, I don’t know. We’ll know for sure when HoT is released. But I’m pretty sure, we will get the recipes and we’re going to be able to sell them. It’d be just plain dumb to not be able to.

Herald and Reaper, period.

Herald, because I like the concept of a walking buff machine and in any case the revenant’s going to be my main.

Reaper, because it looks cool and it’s pretty darn strong. Also I like the scythe in Reaper’s Shroud. edit: It also gives me reason to play my necro again. He will become my 2nd main.

Unless I’m mistaken but that’s the GS skin which necros can unlock in the elite specilization line. So yeah, it probably will come.

Numbers, specifically raw damage, don’t define skill, you know… Using skills in the right time does. Do numbers teach you what buttons you have to use for a good dps rotation? No, they don’t.

I think cotton scraps and piles of foul essence are the reason. Cotton scraps cost 4 – 5 silver each and you get 1 -3 of them per bag and the piles 25 silver each.

Also keep in mind that they can only be acquired through loot boxes in the reward track.

Hammer AA pierces and can hit up to 5 targets if they are unlucky enough to stand behind eachother. Also this AA hits like a truck.

Skill #2 also hits like a truck (with 25 might, 25 vuln and max range, about 15k – 20k dmg, maybe a little less, on a 2 second CD) so we don’t need further buffing there.

Making Hammer #4 reflect projectiles is actually a good idea but we have enough reflect classes (Mesmer, Guardian).

So buffing the hammer in general and via traits isn’t that much of a good idea, because we don’t need extra “xyz-Rev-Weapon is OP”-Threads. We already have a heated discussion on Sword #3 Unrelenting Assault.

Yes i have the same reaction some days ago. Why jalis? He must be dead i think coz if not we couldn’t invocate him. And that’s more, legends are hosting you’re body like a possession so i think he must be dead. You only can do that with a dead spirit. But yeah nothing is official on Jalis’ death. A mystery.

It’s going to be a melee attack with no projectile.
But there will be no changes to animation… Yet.
