Yes, our guild shows up. Can we have all spent and current influence from the new guild Keepers of Posterity Two refunded and transferred to our original guild?
Please dont delete the new guild yet, as I will need to transfer some new members back to the original.
Also, is there any way to get some of the influence that we lost and the research time that we lost?

Also I noticed some of the queued upgrades are gone, and the influence not refunded, as well as one missing upgrade. Guild Armorer contract, and Politics level 3 and architecture level 3 were researching when the guild toasted .

Any news on the outright missing guild where we have needed to recreate and start from scratch, after using tons of influence and research time?

We’ll look up your guild specifically and make sure that it still exists (even if you can’t get access to it at the moment).

Thank you very much for making an appearance here. Could you take a moment and find us guidance on how to proceed while waiting on the other issues to be resolved? My specific issue is that my guild was completely broken for several days before finally just ceasing to exist.

We have created a separate guild and are slowly starting to que upgrades that we already purchased and researched. Everyone is afraid that any effort spent on this new guild is wasted effort.

Some guidance here would go along way.

So, the expectation is that the issue with representing guilds should currently be fixed. If you (or anyone else) can’t represent their guild, please let me know.

What other issues are you seeing? I’ll look into them stat.

Our Guild Keepers of Posterity, stopped working on the first. and then disappeared completely during one of the updates that was supposed to fix guilds. So far nothing has been done to correct this. We had a lot of influence and research already spent.

Hey All,

Thanks for your posts on the issues which you’ve been having with guilds. Apologies that this is impacting you.

As a few of you have pointed out, this thread refers to a bunch of different guild-related issues. I’m going to talk about the problems with representing specifically.

Here’s the boring technical details about the problem : We had a load balancing issue where many game servers were incorrectly connecting to the same guild server, causing it to be overloaded and respond with timeouts.

This has been fixed, so this problem should go away. Please let me know if you’re still seeing this problem and I’ll look into it personally.

Note that this is different to the “network error” issue when you have too many guild memberships or invites – that will still occur (and is really just in need of a decent error message).

Today, we sent out emails to players who have tickets at least five days old. We want to take care of players who still need help. You can help by closing out resolved tickets or by reopening/re-prioritizing tickets that still need attention.
The emails fell into three categories:
The ticket is about a game issue and it is still open. If the issue you wrote about has been solved, please close the ticket through a link in the email. (Please check out the Guild Wars 2 Game Status Updates for info on recent changes to the game.)
This ticket is about a hacked account or a login issue. Again, the ticket is still open, but if your problem has been solved, you should close the ticket by using the in-mail link.

Now I am getting upset. We have all begged and pleaded for an update to our issues. I personally have posted my ticket number here a few times asking for an update. I was concerned and reposted here when the guild issues stopped making the daily status updates and also updated my ticket again stating that the issue was not resolved.

I for one am appalled at the level of support our issue has received.

StephaneLoPresti was kind enough to create this thread and merge tons of unrelated issues into one big massive thread that had nothing in common except that they had something to do with guilds. Since then, this thread has either been ignored or forgotten about, and our tickets moved to the back of the line behind tickets of people that exploited the game and received bans or those who by no fault of arenaNet got hacked for poor account security.

I understood and even accepted that you prioritized these tickets even though I personally did not agree. But enough is enough, our issue needs attention. And a form letter like this is not attention. Neither is the last one you sent.

GaileGray, I know it may not be your area, but can you PLEASE get someone to let us know whats going on with the bugged guilds. WE HAVE HEARD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Further stress is caused by the fact that guilds dont even make the daily status update anymore. My ticket has been open since Sep 1 (120901-010617)

Please get someone to let us know what is going on and what we should be doing in the meantime.

I mean really. If one of them got on here and acknowledged the issue and said, due to the volume of issues, we are working on that the guilds would be restored by 9-15 at the latest or something like that. I would not be happy about the time frame but at least we would know whats going on. It would even be better if they gave us the plan of action for the bugged out guilds. Do we save up Karma in the new guilds we have been forced to make, or do we need to wait it out cause they are going to restore the old ones.

Just to know what is going on would let a lot of people get along with playing the game, rather that adding tons of load on the support que and contantly checkign the support forums.

ArenaNet was kind enough to merge any issue with guilds into one big massive thread. It did not matter what the issue was. In fact many unrelated issues were merged in with only the fact that it was somehow related to a guild into this thread. Now, the thread appears to have been abandoned by ArenaNet as we have not heard a peep about the remaining MAJOR issues with guilds. For instance the fact that our guild that had already spent tons of research time and influence on upgrades, first ceased to function at all, and then ultimately just disappeared entirely. Our tickets have gone unanswered except for a form letter saying we think issues x, y, and z have been solved, update your ticket if you are still having issues. The worst part of this is that my issue was not X, Y, or Z at all.

PLEASE LET US KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON!!!

We largely resolved the capacity constraints with parties and guild functionality, which were causing symptoms such as party members not appearing on the map, parties not staying together as they travelled between maps, and guild manipulation not working. Note that, while capacity constraints are now addressed, there are still some specific issues we’re working on with parties and guilds. In particular, there’s an issue with parties not staying together as they travel into dungeons, which we plan to address tonight.

That is great to hear, though it appears that you have solved this by outright deleting our bugged out guilds. We has spent thousands of influence and time researching upgrades. We created our new guilds but have not heard on our tickets since the mass email to update all the guild tickets.

Please let us know what is going on!

I completely disagree with the OP. For the record, I was an end game raider in WoW. I was successful at it and I have server firsts for many raids.

The problem with the OP’s thinking is that there has to be some sort of difficult challenge to be enjoyable, but that is simply not true. As a percentage of the playerbase in WoW, very few raided. Many of those who did never stayed on the progression path, meaning raided current content, but instead were a tier or so behind.

There is also this illusion that your character was “progressing” because you got more powerful gear. This is also false. If your character was getting stronger, then every new boss should be getting easier to defeat until your character becomes essentially “godly”. The truth however, is that Arthas in ICC was just as difficult to beat while wearing T9/T10 as Rag was in MC wearing T0/T1. When the mobs you face stay just as powerful in relation to you, then the increase in stats merely become cosmetic. The only difference is you have made all previous content irrelevant.

With GW2 ALL content stays relevant. You won’t have a situation where you queue for the daily LFD dungeon, not because it’s fun, let’s face it, a couple weeks into an expansion and they are a faceroll in WoW, but because you need to get your daily badge allotment. Anet has also said they will constantly be adding new content into the game, new DE’s and such, even in lower level zones, which, thanks to downscaling are not faceroll. In WoW, the only content worth doing was the current raid tier because everything else was boring. And you did that over and over. Cataclysm is a good example. They introduced all of two raid tiers as content over 2 years. That hardly keeps a game challenging and fun.

As for the point of guilds, guild will certainly successful. You don’t have to schedule content as if it were a job to have a successful guild. Guilds are meant to be social structures and people will meet others they enjoy playing the game with and want to continue to do so.

I have to agree here. I was an end game raider in EQ/EQ2/WoW/SWTOR, and more. I had realized that wow was going downhill fast, but it died for me the second weak the fall of deathwing raid was out and they opened the last wing. That day, a mere week and change from the new content, and I was done, having killed deathwing and gotten almsot half my new teir of gear. A few weeks later and there was nothing more I could do other than the same content over and over again.

WoW did not last long for me after that.

The morning of 1 Sep 2012, when I or anyone else in the guild, our guild panel showed no upgrades, no influence, and only ourself in the roster. The guild name is there, but the emblem or the tag is not. Nothing works in the guild and as far as we can tell it is as if we are not in a guild. Guild chat does not work, we cannot invite either.

Please help, I have opened a ticket on the first and another on the fourth when the first did not even receive an answer.

Ok, so here is an update. We have actually now gotten worse. Rather that the guild beginning to work, it is now completely gone.

Here is the response I put in my ticket (120901-010617).

This response was not helpful for my issue, as the guild shows up but is completely non-functional. However I logged in to check the status this morning and the guild is now completely gone. We have created a temporary holding guild so that we can at least use guild chat called ‘Keepers of Posterity Two’ on the tarnished coast server as well. Since the old one is just gone, can you please restore our upgrades to the new guild and rename it to ‘Keepers of Posterity’

We had the following upgrades:
Politics Level 1
Guild Emblem Template
Politics Level Two
Guild Armorer Contract – was researching and almost complete
Economy Level 1
Architecture Level 1
Guild Workshop
Architecture Level 2
Guild Stash
Architecture Level 3 – Was researching

This issue has also cost us 6 days of research so far. That is 144 hours * 2 work slots. Assuming we only used 66% of that time, thats 190 hours of research that has been lost. What can be done to help us resolve this discrepancy. This time is also growing with each passing moment as I do not want to wast influence Items or research until I can confirm that we are doing to in the right guild. Or using it on research that should be restored by you.

Please respond ASAP.

What about those of us with other than prioritized tickets in with absolutely detrimental issues. Like the fact that a guild with over 8000 influence and the guild stash already researched just all but disappeared. We cannot guild chat, see the roster, or invite members. The only thing we can see is the name, not even the tag.

This is causing MAJOR issues, and the specific issue has not even been so much as acknowledged by ArenaNet or your support team, tickets have gone unanswered for DAYS, I know mine was opened the morning of Sep 1st.

PLEASE LET US KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. Shoudl we all jsut leave the toas guidl and start over and open yet another ticket that your not going to answer to get our lost influence and upgrades back? Should we wait? WHAT? WE NEED TO KNOW!

NOT TELLING US IS JUST PISSING A LOT OF PEOPLE OFF.

I personally know 3 people that have stopped playing because of the issue.

Please just communicate with us and acknowledge the issues that we are having.

I know several guild issues have been in your updates that you have posted on the wiki, this issue, which has been posted by several different guilds since the forums opened up has not been acknowledged in those updates or in the forums or on twitter.

This weekend the guild became bugged to the point that it’s unusable. Nobody in the guild sees each other or is able to chat via the guild chat. The guild progression isn’t showed anymore, and we’re not able to build anything. This has been like this since Saturday morning. This has seriously affected the guild now that the guild hasn’t been able to progress since Saturday morning and we’re not able to see who are still in the guild, and who have left. We had over 200 members..

Pls help us soon we have been losing alot of players, influence and building time
