Its really starting to kitten me off tbh because i have waited almost a day and a half now without being able to login. To top it off i sent in a ticket like nearly a day and a half ago as well and no response (other than automated response) I sink so much money into this game thru gems and this is the service i get. You don’t just stand still and dodge though. You use your own abilities. You can’t avoid everything and win 100 to 0.
You Can kite. You Can use your abilities to CC.
please explain to me how to kite around a point that has a burning field in it’s entire width like 50% of the time? Burning that does significant dmg even when the warrior has 0 condition dmg in his gear because his 20 stacks of might bump it up for him? The problem with hambow is not necessarily the build itself. The problem is that hambow is literally the Perfect build for fighting in a small confined circle. There are simply too many powerful and perfectly effective moves in this builds aresenal for fighting on a point. Yeah, I can dodge a couple, maybe get lucky and get a pushback for a second, maybe blind/block him once or twice, but the fact of the matter is, while i’m doing these things he still contests the point, regens health passively, and has 2 or 3 skills queued up and ready for me to run out of dodges and defenses. That’s why you really only see hambow in pvp, because in ANY other setting, its really not that strong. But when you must fight the warrior in a small little ring, its a terror of a build no matter what the opposition brings to the table.
6. Guardian – Balanced, but I feel like the Virtues are useless. Their effects are so minuscule, they have never made a difference to me. They’ve never even saved my life, let alone supported my team.

6 Necromancer – having lich that just reks fights is stupid as hell and really shouldnt be possible. most good teams will never wipe to one but still its stupid.
7 Ranger – spirits still stupid spam 1 to win, insta rez on 20s cd if spirit doesnt die
8- Mesmer – nothing wrong with it, portal can be cheesy but it is completely fair
Am I playing a different game? Haven’t fought 1 turret Engineer in my last 20 matches, and all those I have fought suck, play the build to carry them, and die to my conditions very quickly. Where’s the problem? The build literally gets destroyed by my bombs or one warrior because most Engineers are stupid enough to stick all their turrets on the point rather than out at their 1500 range. I hope a dev sees this and realises it’s not the build but the players fighting them, lets face it Engineer is the second most nerfed class behind Ranger right now (to the people saying Engineer hasn’t been nerfed then you have only played this game for 6 months).

Just a few more pointers you didnt mention in your video:
Intelligence actually lets you hit pretty freaking hard. Try to use Protectors strike (mace 3) or the orb on staff first when swapping into a weapon, because those skills can hit 2-3k easily on crits.
Landing your dodge heals and Staff2 orb are really really important.. if a warrior on our team is being focused you can easily land dodge heals on him and triple his sustain.. I can usually heal around 1k per second including regen.
Also make sure to use your dodge heals in mace.. its an extra 120 and really important.
Hitting a virtue is a 1k heal cuz of AH in team fights.
Obviously using the focus 5 skill is your best bet for guaranteed stomps when stab is not up. Try to save it for this, as well as virtue of justice for the blind. Using them both is pretty much always a guaranteed stomp, and you usually have to use stab to down someone in the first place.
Using virtue of courage is honestly much better for the protection rather than the aegis. Save it for when a team mate goes down or theres a hard hitting skill like zerker staff meteor shower, lich form, wells etc

and this is massive issue with pvp in this game – it has only one game mode which heavily favors bunkers mindlessly spamming aoe on point
either aoe and ai needs massive nerfs or pvp in this game needs different game mode where it is not just engis and bunkers guards everywhere
oh, what i find even more funny is how engis tell you to destroy turrets, oh yeah GL with that with all the reflects and CC they throw at you while you are at it
Not at all! In fact, only two people on our comp are turret engis. Generally the other three are me (celestial nades), a burster and a condi. It just so happens that condi fits really well with engis so we get another healing turret. I am NOT going to be standing on point, nor is any of the other damage if we know what’s good for us. That is what single target melee ranged people can do. Murder the damage. Turret engis don’t actually do that much damage, regardless of what people say. Rocket turret, the strongest turret damage wise in the game, only hits for like 2.2k at the very maximum. It doesn’t have very much health either.
Really the turrets are a form of pressure, not high impossible to deal with damage. It’s like when warriors put down a black hole sized fire field with longbow. Or when a support staff ele uses meteor shower.
that is so not true. 2 turret engis make it nearly impossible for me to stand on point as an AH guardian.

in a 4v4 team fight i cant stand on point because of 2 peoples dmg that is never ending unless the turrets are destroyed (which in fact happens fairly quickly,but still not fast enough to stop a full cap)
Isn’t it ridiculous that they designed a class with perma evade AND stealth.
I’m speaking both for the Thief who can’t survive long otherwise and the opponents who have to deal with this cheeze.
I’m struggling to conceive of developer meeting where they sit down and say “Yeah…this sounds like a great idea…let’s give this class with stealth the ability to evade almost every attack too…it will be fun for both sides.”
Ironically, they did it twice with mesmers too…albeit on a smaller scale.
Some people rage quit over anything…but I’ve seen people quit the game totally over the amount of cheeze that is in the game now. There used to be only a couple of cheezy things, but the last patch made it “balanced” where almost every class is running cheeze builds that either 1-2 shot you or never die.
GW2 used to be a game of skill with great balance in TTK…now, it’s Build Wars 2…not skill.
only class atm that really is cheese is engi. everything else requires skill to be successful. engi is literally faceroll, you can be competitive at the highest level with less than a day of experience at engi.
By regrouping and pushing both points simultaneously but with the correct personnel so as to create an advantageous matchup at either objective. The ultimate goal being to split the enemy team and thereby remove or diminish their key strength that caused your team to lose the initial fight.
Hopefully you’ve discovered some way to create that advantageous engagement at either of the held capture points based on the previous engagement you lost. Either by personnel distribution or map strategy/position.
Against a disciplined team you typically can’t just pick a singular point and look to overload it as they’ll be positioned to counter, and you’ll likely just be moving the same team fight you just lost to a different point which will likely end in the same result, or they’ll simply rotate to your undefended or lightly-defended point and you’re back to square one.

Sounds like someone needs AoE on their team. This is why teams need to balance themselves out. If you don’t have the ability to AoE a point, then your team build is lacking. If you know you’re going to face a turret engi, you can take things like Hallowed Ground for more stability. Before a match starts, you can change your stuff to match the enemy comp. That’s why it’s there. TCG even mentioned this in their talk. They constantly change their sigils, runes and traits right before a match starts to better fight their enemies.
lol the problem is not stability. we’ve even run zerker staff eles to go against this kittenty comp and still haven’t been successful all the time. hambows just about the only thing you can do atm.
if you lost the team fight try to spread them across 3 points. if they dont want to push your home thats fine too, you can get a 3v3 and a 2v2 between mid and far. if you just wiped you have the oppurtunity to pick which players you want to fight who so you get the advantage, since most nooby teams will just afk their guard at mid and home bunker at home and just have the roamers go between them. you can also dedicate to a team fight at mid and then have someone decap and full cap far, at which point you can pull out of the team fight with your new nifty side point 2cap.

It’d be really awesome if this button actually selected an ally instead of a NPC. As a guardian main, sometimes I want to select an ally so I know where he is easier and can land a Staff 2 or dodge heal quicker and without having to spam clicks.
level 80 monk here, I don’t like to play warrior its just not my play style but ask anyone in gw2 and they will say i am best monk na region. I hope to be best team there is thank you very much for consideration.

Of course, you are. Every Guardian does. It’s basically impossible not to . I wouldn’t consider it ‘a lot’ in your build, though. Meaning, you don’t use AH that efficiently. However, that is not the point I was trying to make.
There is no point of getting so much healing power if you don’t go for the skills and traits which actually benefit from it. You don’t need it for AH and AH by design overemphasizes the bunker part of your build while neglecting the supporter and healer role. Virtue of Resolve scales well with healing power. Pure of Heart scales even better. You could combine it with Communal Defenses – which works extremly well with Mace – for a huge amount of group healing. Both would benefit your party. Sure, it would be at the expense of your survivability. But you got so much healing that you should still do well overall (less so in 1vs1, more so in 2vs2 or 3vs3).
Of course, those set ups might be more appealing for WvW than for 5vs5 PvP (especially Communal Defenses). But for your build I just feel that the investment in healing power is too high and partly wasted. You don’t need it for your sustain (AH) and it also doesn’t make a significant difference for most of your party heals. You could easily go Celestial without any real drawbacks. You might even be able to pull off more offensive amulets (Barbarian, Soldiers, Knights) even though it might totally defy the original purpose of your build.
My most WoW moment. 2 things come to mind. I was playing full zerker ranger on kyhlo and I went and capped home, I promptly got rushed by 4 at the beginning, I stealth off the boxes knowing it isn’t safe. Recognizing they had no thieves, I dropped a quickness barrage -> spider immob -> rapid fire into their trap ranger whose the last to come up the stairs, he tries to heal, I interrupt it and swoop in to get the quickness stomp, while the other 3 try to DPS me down. I made it out with like under 1k health. Felt pretty good.
Other wow moment, was in the BM days, when I played a lb/gs dual raven burst build. I was tanky, but with gs 5 and the raven I could hit people for 10k. So with comboing raven f2 -> pet swap -> gs 5 -> raven f2 I had a solid 15k burst on squishies. I was on clock tower and I 1 v 2’d Caed and O eggs. They were quite upset, granted being able to 1 shot thieves and mesmers with a soldiers amulet was the most OP of all time.
Not really, my wow moment, but a wow moment for the team I play with. I have a habit of going to solo the lord for the win on foefire. I just don’t communicate it through TS. At the end, I just say, “GG guys” and then everyone’s like, “WTF just happened, oh, we won?”.

Sharks With Lazers official team is looking for a talented and experienced warrior. Rank is not a major factor, however we expect you to be extremely skilled. This includes dueling capabilities, rotation knowledge, and team fight awareness. We are specifically looking for an Axe/(Sword/Shield) Longbow build with traits either 2 0 6 0 6 or 0 0 6 2 6 although that is not set in stone. It would be preferable that you can play multiple builds and weapons successfully. We also expect a good attitude and a will to learn and become the best team in NA.
Playtimes are typically from around 5 pm to 2 am EST.
We are currently only accepting NA applicants (No aussie etc) due to latency and playtimes.
