Ive gone for GS using mainly gear with power, toughness, healing, Vit in and as much passive healing as possible from talents under the traits bit.

I tend to save a little gold and buy a full yellow (rare) set and upgrades with the different stats on to try other things out and see if it feels better to play. try changing a couple of upgrades on your accessories to vit/healing/toughness type ones until you are happy with your squishyness or lack of. if you are happy with your point allocations the only thing you can do is change gear, the crest of the shaman upgrades give a nice bit of healing+vit and dont cost too much.

May be the wrong section but i would love to see this in the game. I would find it useful while exploring etc. I also dont like the chat box placement but i do like to have it visible somewhere, sticking it on my other screen would be fantastic. it would also be useful for PVP and tracking what is going on where.

Just because you wouldnt find it useful it doesnt mean others wont.

Well, I obviouly exaggerated, about 1-2-3 in WoW. Played it myself for a while, and sure, enjoyed raiding with my guild. But, being player, who learns fast, I facepalmed oh-so-often when meeting ppl in raids who kept making same mistakes over and over again, like about 10+ times in 1 day, and just refused to learn. Well, in GW2 I see the same players (some pugs are learning in the battle process though) while there is no LFG system here.
Lazarial, may I ask, when your 8/8 HC was obtained. Because you know… Got 6/8 HC myself, but got bored and quit.

Well, in time, all will be stabilized. WoW-ers in wow. GW-ers – in gw2. Some in both. What I am writing here, I wonder…

With the 25% nerf but were stuck at 6/8 for a while (100s of wipes on spine, 6th try on madness…), we raid 2/3 times a week for a few hours, often miss raid nights if people are busy. we are a social guild that raids, our emphasis is on having a laugh and hopefully clearing content while its current, its no big deal if we dont providing we have fun

My point was that i can play this casually and it wont have an impact further down the line. WoW requires you to hit max then grind out gear to do current endgame, GW2 you jump straight in and the grind is mainly for cosmetics and you are good for all content as soon as you hit the required level. I personally find this more casual friendly than WoW

I will be going back to WoW when MoP comes out (grinding dungeons/rep for gear for raiding), i will also be sticking with GW2 (casually running dungeons for gear sets). as for standing behind the tank, i am a tank in WoW (8/8 DS HC) and i use at least 15 abilities in every encounter, some of our better DPS use a similar amount.

The 2 styles of gameplay are completely different, i enjoy both and will play both, some will quit WoW for GW2 and others will quickly grow bored of GW2 and go back to WoW despite the monthly sub.

you cannot compare money drops between different MMO’s, if every humanoid dropped silver then prices would be even higher and your money would be worth less, the fact that you play for 3 hours and others play for 10+ means you will always have less than them in the game. you will always be poorer by around the same ratio as you are now regardless of how things drop as people who invest more time get more gold.

This game isnt meant for healing/tanking so I dont really understand why you would need that, i know there are heal-like builds but none are direct heals. If you feel like your allies are dying then use your AOE’s

Abilities that look like they shouldnt have hit sometimes do, if you are trying to do a support role with some heals, cc’s etc its useful to see health to know where your support is needed and when, what is there to not understand?

And the whole if you “feel your allies are dying” how on earth are you meant to feel it? In this game you are given the freedom to choose your playstyle, healthbars are a feature in most games and this person has a playstyle where they would be useful.

this game is definitely designed to usw WASD to move that should fix ur problem

we use the mouse to move by holding down both buttons but it often loses target, i cant use WASD because that hand is used for the ability keybinds.

I love the de-levelling, i have reached 80 and there is still a mountain of content for me to do, lots of it low level. I will go back and do it, yes i will be more powerful than usual at that level but it wont be one shotting veteran + champion mobs like it would be in other games.

Some of my friends are going to start playing soon and i can go back and do some of the content with them on my main char without ruining there gaming experience. also means they wont be hassling me for boosts.

how is it unacceptable? its a computer game. we arent comparing interest rates on loans.

evidently the kittens are far more reliable than the hamsters that blizzard use in their servers.

I think arenanet have done a good job, ive only had 2 instances of login issues in my first week of playing, with d3 i had a lot more, the GW2 team have done a much better job

I would personally avoid No.4 as the 2×4870′s wont be particularly good (a 560Ti will run better than these)

From the info you have on there i would go for No.2 or No.3 as i believe the 560Ti is better than the 6850 that No.1 has.

So first choice for me would be No.2 (SSD and best graphics card)
Second choice would be No.3 (and its well behind my first choice)

I’m running an i5 2500k (@ 4.5ghz) with a GTX 480 and i have zero issues when playing, not done WvW but done some of the bigger world events (the one with the hands that people rage about) and didn’t get lag despite 50+ people spamming abilities.

I would personally go for an unlocked i5 over an i7 (the i7 usually just does hyperthreading too which is useless for most gaming) and use the money i saved to get a decent graphics card and decent memory.

I cant see a problem with that, you would normally get that cloth for free from looting, now you are paying for it. you say repeat to infinity while you have the money, the fact that you would run out of money makes it not infinite. I’m not sure how much cloth you would get from it but i imagine after buying the salvage kit + the armor it works out a similar cost or possibly more expensive than using than TP anyway?
