This is my opinion, and as such I encourage people to express their own opinions on the subject I have raised, Am I being too harsh in expecting a “Legendary Journey” Rather than a Gold Sink?
And it started off so strong….
The 1st tier was amazing, it got me back out into the Vanilla content and I enjoyed the scavenger hunt side of it, Truly a masterpiece idea, and i got the feel of a “Legendary Journey”
So now on to T2, and my mood has changed from “this is fun” to “Scrap this bullkitten” I mean seriously, wtf is the point in crafting the stupid thing, it’s cheaper to buy them kitten ,
Additionally you are determined to force people into PVP!, If people want to do it they will do it by choice, don’t gate PVE content behind PvP. How did you not learn this from Map completion and Wvw?
Please put some effort into a 4 stage world quest/ scavenger hunt around the world of Tyria, not some massive gold sink! (Worried about the “Market” make them account bound.)
Essentially you have removed the requirement of Rngessus favour and replaced it with pay to own…. so why craft at all?

There have been a lot of questions coming up recently from several different profession forums regarding the use of soft-CC effects (cripple, chill, slow, etc) on bosses with the new Defiance system in HoT. We have a solution in the works for this but we wanted to make a post to explain how it’s going to work.
A hard-CC like a stun, daze or knockback will deal direct damage to a defiance bar, lowering it by a flat amount based on the duration of the CC. As an example, a 2 second stun on a 6 second defiance bar will take off 33% of the bar.
A soft-CC like chill, slow, or cripple will deal damage over time to a defiance bar for the duration of the debuff. Additionally soft-CC effects will apply to the creature for the purposes of triggering traits but not apply their debuff effect. As an example, chilling a foe with a defiance bar will cause their defiance meter to degenerate over time and place the chill debuff on their status bar, which will allow a Reaper to benefit from the damage reduction effect of the trait Cold Shoulder, but it will not affect the creature’s movement speed.
The exact numbers on the degeneration rates for each type of soft-CC are still in flux, but we hope this helps answer some of the questions about the viability of certain elite specializations in HoT.
EDIT: Even if the defiance bar is not vulnerable to CC, the conditions will still apply for the purposes of triggering traits.
How does fear work in this category? Is it a hard or a soft CC? also how will the damage effect of terror trait work?

So, Legendary armor, a topic I am sure has been covered before, however i fancied adding my own twist with HOT drawing ever closer.
The twist, We all get the idea of legendary weapons, a long arduous quest across the lands of Tyria finding mat’s or mapping, or even dominating your foe’s in WvW to gain the badges.
Now.. the pitch (assuming I can intrigue anyone from Anet to explore this idea…wink wink)
Legendary armor… something i think could be amazing, if implemented well. So, how to do it without debunking current ascended armor? I see only one way this can be achieved… with full ascended inclusion.
OK so how do we do this? Simple: before any player can achieve “legendary armor” they must
1) Have achieved an ascended piece for that respective slot (Chest to gain legendary chest, gloves to gloves…ect). You must also then gain a blood stone shard (200 hero points) a gift of ascension (500 fractal relics) a specific item bought from the dungeon reward master ( Example here: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Offering_of_Ascalon) and a greater vision crystal. This allows the player to forge the crafting schematic for a specific legendary armor piece (each dungeon reward offers a specific piece, lower level offer hands/gloves, shoulders – intermediate offers head, and the final “hard” dungeons offer chest and legs)
2) So you’ve got your crafting schematic and now you want to start crafting your “legendary armor piece”… Hold on their cowboy! You need more items
1st)5 Dragonite Ingot: these must be tempered in the heart of the great destroyer, in the fire’s of Mount Maelstrom (Once per day)
2nd) 5 Empyreal Star: Infused with the souls of the fallen Shatterer’s (Kill the Shatterer and then charge the star with a hero skill point that will appear after, time gated once per day)
3rd) 5 Bloodstone Brick: dipped in the tainted blood of the fallen Tequatl the Sunless, absorbing the magic essence poring into Zhaitans minions after his death,.
4th) 1 Vision crystal that has seen the defeat of Zhaitan (Player must complete the last mission Victory or death, then use the crystal on the interactive point that can be added)
Now you have the materials required to craft your 1st piece of legendary armor! (For clarification, you require the 4 above items AND the ascended armor piece for the respective slot)
What makes the armor so much better than that of ascended.
Q) Does it have higher stats?
A) Nope
Q) Does it grant more armor?
A) Nope
Q) Does it come auto infused with maximum agony resistance?
A) Nope
Q) OK, so what the flowers does it do after I have wasted 30 days downing world bosses to infuse half the stuff in your suggestion. Ow and not to add the weeks ive dumped into crafting this ascended armor? or perhaps the time sync into gathering these stupid dungeon tokens?
A) Legendary armor!…That you can pick your own stats on at will… that’s right, interchangeable stats at will…
Ever been in a situation where you wanted to run more support and your armor didn’t support it? No more!

As the title says, I have completed a fractal on 2 separate occasions within the last few days and received no reward? It’s no big deal, however it’s a tad annoying.
Both fractals were completed days apart ( 2 I believe) Both times they were between 20-30, I did not log out and did not character swap at any occasion.
My personal fractal level is 41 (if that makes a difference)
Anyone else experiencing this? is it a known bug or have I annoyed RNGesus?
Well im back again with my origional post, 1 year later and yet again the same problem, a lot has changed for me since i posted the last time, Namely i have a bigger internet connection now…. and a better PC, and well the issue remains.
Personally I think 15 minutes to load a map is bullkitten, sort it out, this is pre expansion release and i’m already getting hammered with server side lag, I mean it’s always slow but kitten me it’s been worse these last few weeks.
Been close to 30 mins now, sound still hasn’t loaded correctly, neither has half of the map.

When I upgraded my PC a few years ago i used amazon, you can get some good ready build Pc’s that have a decent spec for around £400-£600 (British sterling) this will be around $600-$800 (You can get as low as £250 -$450 when a sale is on) . Mine came with the operation system installed and was ready to play on day of arrival. The link below is to the uk version of amazon that has a few models on sale that will suit Guild wars 2. This will not come with a monitor, mouse, keyboard or speakers. But if you shop around you will be able to pick these up cheap (they will all be plug and play so limited installation required)
EDIT: Not saying that my PC is the best choice, or even a required choice, but its been in service for 3 years and has not let me down yet
EDIT 2: I took the liberty of selecting the Quad Core, Nvidia and 1TB (Terabyte https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terabyte ) hard drive features as “required” in my filter for your selection, again these are not a requirement but are my personal preference.

Could try swapping the runes to “Mad kings”. Swap one malice sigil for earth (66% chance of bleed on hit) this synergies with barbed precision (a further 33% chance of bleed on hit)
Use epic minion, summoning the minion will trigger the rune (also work’s on charge 40 sec CD 45 sec rune cool-down) to activate a 13 hit attack with a bird flock, they all bleed on hit (13 stacks and have a further 2 chances to inflict bleed with the above stated sigil and trait, making a possible bleed stack of 39 from this attack alone… This is also AoE 5 targets, meaning a maximum possible condition application of 195 across all targets.)
You will have approximate 5 seconds of up-time with this skill allowing further application of bleeding. My personal approach is to use signet of Spite, to condition dump on my primary target then follow with minion charge, scepter 3 dagger 5 Epidemic. This provided the primary target with a a huge condition spike and all targets close with a equally sizable bleed dump, the end of the combo (epidemic) spreads the love to all AoE targets.
If you really want to push the stacks to the max, drop staff and take Axe/Focus, Use focus skill 4 and Axe skill 2 to create 14 stacks of Vunerability and another 11 hits that all have 2 chances to apply bleed (assuming you put the sigil of earth on the Axe or focus, I also use sigil of Geomancy on both sets, so on weapon swap i apply another 3 stacks of bleed aoe)
Why vulnerability? because post patch it increases condition damage by 1% per stack (14% total here)
Why axe, its crap? – Well yes it is, but these sigils/runes trigger “on hit” not on skill use so more hits shorter period over dagger.
Side notes: War horn is elite with this trait/sigil combo, as all ticks are “hits” and aoe. Warhorn better synergises with dagger, as the axe is single target and the dagger has 2 target cleave.
I also run Blood magic over soul reaping, because life steal! also perfect synergy with with blood bond (cast sigil of suffering on one random target who gets 4 or more stacks of bleed meaning free heal) also all life steal heals party.. and because well of suffering, yet more vulnerability, more AoE and more party support using vampiric wells, (protection on cast to all ally’s and also siphons health)
All hits trigger a heal also, so the mad king rune = free heal 13×32×5 2080 heal, for party (as its life steal) (currently at work so unsure what the exact tick is from the life steal, it may be higher)

So, Purchasing Hot now gives you standard edition fee? does that mean i can have the 5 character slots from the other unwanted GW2 account added to my main account (Seems only fair after nearly 10 years of playing this franchise – Gw1+Gw2, and for the rest of those who join used for Gw2 and have committed years of their lives to the product.)

Half of the traits/skills from this class have been bugged since launch, and your surprised they missed terror?
Necro has the best stealth play in GW2, Over 2 years of bugs and poor, massively underpowerd traits that have managed to remain stealth-ed from class balances since launch.
Remember when Dhuum fire was cool? Remember When Condi nec was king? we got that for about 3 months before it was nerfed. The most annoying thing about it we got that as a master trait. Engi gets it as a major, and with longer duration, shorter cool-down.
Bleh, I’m not surprised I didn’t get an e-mail despite supporting this game since GW1. (Got GWAMM from GW1, and 5k hrs on GW2 now)

This is frustrating. All my active (logging in at least once every two days — typically every day) guild friends (eight people) got one, except me.I love this game, but apparently I’m to be shunned because I’m not loyal enough, apparently. Feelings. Hurt.
At least all those popular streamers that don’t actually care about the game probably got in. At least I can take comfort in that. Wait. That’s not comfort.
Edit: I am literally about to cry though. Out of all the regulars in my guild, I won’t be joining them when they first set foot into the new area together. Together, without me.
In the same boat, slightly gutted they chose the wording “most loyal players” Then again, I have never prayed to the RNG god.
It was a bug and it is now gone, hopefully never to return. And a good thing too.
As an aside, gotta love the reasoning paths of the “supporters” of it:
1) I am bored and need moar challenge! Let’s ruin the game for everyone else so I can grow my e-pickle!

Hell, I guess we might as well get rid of leveling and gearing altogether, have everyone at level 1, with standard gear, and have all zones be of equal difficulty.

I don’t know why they don’t just create a hard mode version of each map that you can reach when level 80…
Upgrade all mobs by 1 tier. Normal become Vets, Vets become silvers, silvers become champs… grant a 50% bonus to Magic Find while in a hard mode area.
What this would create: Farming opportunity for solo players. Farming opportunity for groups (as scaling will still have an effect) a different dynamic for a while…
How hard would this be to implement, I am assuming not that difficult as the scaling already exists, set it to x5 and we have a hard mode No? 1 player would =5 5 would equal 25 etc etc.

TO CLARIFY, I AM NOT CLAIMING THE NEW DOWN-SCALING SYSTEM MAKES GW2 DIFFICULT OR MORE CHALLENGING IN ANY WAY, ITS NOW JUST MORE TEDIOUS….Much like the new leveling system.
Since the latest patch it appears you have nerfed the kitten out of level 80’s (geared) in low level areas. Was just testing to see how harsh this nerf was and have found some of it hilarious.
Ranger Pets (yes that useless thing we have called a class mechanic) Are now so heavily down-scaled that mine manages a wapping 34-46 Damage per hit with bear and an astonishing 39-51 with Drake (tested in Queensdale, with 6 pts into Beast mastery…yes i maxed it out and still got that, I even popped “sick em” this appears to work when it feels like it as i noticed no DPS or speed increase) While i find this hilarious to watch my pet hack away at a standard mob for 30 sec i cant help but wonder how this will effect the “leveling experience” if you can call it that.
Thief> reminds me of leveling playing this class downscaled, painful experience and kitten DPS, whats the pont think Mine can now live in Spvp and Wvw as i cant say as the reduced damage isnt “fun”
Necromancer, To now accommodate our lacking class (and need i mention the massive butt kittening we just got with the stability “fix”) Dps and the already poor Condi specs in Pve, we now have reduced gear specs and lower overall damaged. The one Viable spec we have is Power nec…6/2/0/0/6. I suppose i should be great full as necromancer has the best stealth play in GW2, nearly 3 years of 16 broken traits, Fleshgolem A.I broken since Beta, general useless minion Ai, no teleport’s, or mobility, need to spec 6 traits to get 1 stack of stability, or burn an elite… and still not a hint of " balance"
I do play all 8 classes but after trying those 3 I felt I had seen enough. (I have only tested this in Queensdale, i do not know how bad it is in other areas, but i can Imagine it will be much the same)
…but anyways this has become more rant-ish than i wanted it to…. long story short, if you wanted to separate out geared 80’s from newbies to stop us one shoting kitten so they cant get a look in, just add a /levelcheck when mapping into a zone….
Guess that means you would have new players joining into a dead map though… wouldn’t want to damage those “Quarterly profits” with allot of leavers??..I mean yes its a “free to play” but I bet the new players represent a substantial marketing opportunity regarding Gem purchases, after all with no substantial gold reserve for them i guess the only option is to buy them….
Long story short, im not happy with the idea i spend ages crafting ascended gear to backtrack to an area I enjoyed while leveling to feel like I am wearing leveling greens…. If you want to add a hard mode, nut up and do it, at least that way hopefully the risk will reflect the reward.
Like a dog with a bone…Leave it Liege….no one cares.

I have to agree with the above, I have been less than complimentary of the story thus far, but this recent addition blew me away.
WELL DONE! Brilliant story, and finally , a dark turn. Very pleased.
Its a living world, the world has changed, any new race wouldn’t need a backtrack story as that is history in the GW universe. If there is to be a “new race” I would imagine it will come with a bolt on expansion story.

And to top it off they have just released news of “daily log in rewards” Again to try and get the year end player base review figures up.
I have put my dummy back in now, so feel more rational moans coming on.
If you add up all the living story added fro season 2 so far, and played it through you would probably get 3-4 hours of game play released over half a year. In guild wars 1, we didn’t get as much content added as often however we did get 3 expansions, that had 11-20 missions per expansion 15-25 new areas, new classes professions armor weapons, skills… catch my drift? Basically the LS is to keep us coming back for short drip fed content and to prevent player base spikes.
I am not saying the living story approach is a bad idea, hell i love the idea of an evolving and changing world. Id just rather wait the 6 months to 1 year and get something worth me logging in for, because we all know you have to log in once per patch or pay for your LS (That is BS by the way, having to log in to get the “free content” or be charged gems if you don’kittens not free content if it comes with strings attached! But i bet that looks good on a year end report.)
I’m tired of all the same rubbish, I am tiered of getting my hopes up to hear what I think we all want to hear like: Cantha, Elona, new professions, new armor weapons (not Gem store sizzle, a basic in your face money grab move… bad form) and skills, please don’t quote the kitten poor skills we have received as part of the living story, because lets be honest who really uses them over your standard skills.
All in all I am feeling very underwhelmed by a game that I truly love, it feels like the game has become to corporate, more about the money than the actual content added, yes its free but notice how the Gem store gets more updates than the LS!.
Seriously another break and more 2nd hand content? Whats up with that.
You finally seem to be getting a grip on how to run the living story then suddenly BREAK!.. you bring it back (after what seemed like a millennium) another great patch, followed by a short story (poor)patch, an average patch and Break….?
Can we just get a vague idea of why these breaks are for? are you suffering money issues and can only afford part time staff?

Bring back hex skills! I want Life transfer & Barbs back in the game.
They wont increases the condition side of us so give us a new angle!
Barbs – (25 sec) Target takes bonus 25 damage per melee attack (maximum of 100 attacks per sec) (Cooldown 50 sec)
Life Transfer – (10 sec) Target looses 250 health per second for 12 seconds (3000 damage total), you gain 50% of this back as health. (is affected by traits that affect life siphon) Cool Down 25 Sec
Insidious parasite : Every time targets attacks it looses 1000 health, you gain 50% of this back as health. (Is affected by skills that affect life siphon) Cool-down 30 sec
Mark of Pain: (10 sec) Every time target foe is attacked, all adjacent take 200 damage.
Cool Down 25 sec
New Elite – Spiteful Spirit (10 sec), Every time Target foe attacks or uses a skill, all nearby foes take 1000 damage. (Cool-down 120 sec)

Guess its time to put GW2 back on the shelf again until January.
On the plus side, SWTOR has just had another expansion.
In 6 months for now, Anet will fix this problem and everyone will love it.

Things have changed. Hard to summarize, recommend you log in and try out the new adrenalin system. It is taking some getting use to.
I just hope we actually get a zone each update now, and not a tiny piece of a zone every 2 weeks.
It took Anet 9 months to dye a Dorito 3 different colors… I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
Nearly 2 years and still no Hobo sack fix, so yeah, no chance of more maps every 2 weeks.
I also think its the bandit fort.
The entire time I did that mission I was like “This guy could really use a fireball to the crotch”
I wanted a ferocity response along the lines of “Your HEAD will be attending the summit. If you want it to still be attached to the rest of you, I suggest you start walking it over there right NOW.”
+10 to this. Totally wanted to kill them over helping them

Another random suggestion that will server very little to no purpose an have very little to do with the actual world.
Now.. to the meat of it.
Home instance… a very boring uninviting area of the game that has very little use except from the ore nodes some of us have bought/worked to get.
Where is he going with this you ask? Well… Alt characters, like quite a few of the GW2 gamer’s out there I am sure you have multiple characters of varying levels (A few people like me who probably will also admit to having a full vault of geared 80’s, then realize that its very sad and cry in a corner about their imaginary social life….)
Anyways… Can we add an option to have alt character models idle/wandering or maybe even intractable in our home instance? I’ve gone all Gok wan on my vault and after many months am very satisfied with the overall look of my characters, and would like a nice quiet instance that i can take a friend or two to admire my digital accomplishments…
If you felt generous you could add pivotal characters from their story’s also… for example my blood Legion char’s posse, after all Its been a good year since my char killed Zaitan and still hasn’t bothered to call or write to his Legion homies….
