- vitality should increase your endurance regeneration in addition to your health
Excuse me have you actually fallen off your rocker? If vitality could increase your endurance regeneration engies would be unkillable, tempest would be unkillable, thief would always be flying. You would actually break the game. Stop, this is why you guys are not game designers, because you clearly have such a clear bias to defensive stats that it actually makes me sick to my stomach.
And this is coming from a support main. Armor does indeed work as it is intended, but it is more of the fact that you need to be /active/. GW2 clearly has a learning curve of having well-timed dodges and knowing what hits to take or not take. This isn’t WoW where you can sit there and occasionally press keys, this is an /active/ combat system. I cannot believe people have not realized it yet. Just because you are defensive you cannot just sit there and take hits all day.
And if you are melting from something like a power reaper you are mostly allowing their vulnerability to stack on you, which cuts all of those defensive stats by a percentile. You are literally getting hit with a condi that says it’s cutting your armor and making you more vulnerable to enemy attacks.
Well you can’t dodge thief first attack. First backstab is instant straight from stealth.
Said thief has already blown most of his action points, or shadow refuge, to pull that off without you seeing it coming.
If you saw a thief suddenly go invisible, you can pretty much assume he’s coming for you, and throw up a block.
Most thieves aren’t carrying around 20 seconds of stealth anymore.
Hell, tbh. Most of the thieves I’ve fought aren’t even wearing zerkers gear anymore. Backstabbing isn’t as stupidly amazing as it used to be.
As for the discussion, everyone runs tanky as hell now-a-days. Why are you trying to make that even worse?
I literally sat in a 15 man group’s bomb yesterday questioning “where is the damage”. I’ll tell you where it was, non-existent. They were just melee training and killing all the scrubs that don’t know how to dodge, and are running PvE gear.
The only class I even remotely fear in this game is a reaper, and that’s only because of all the boon corruption.
I don’t have blocks. So should i use mistform straight after thief go stealth?
As an ele you have the ability to negate almost all power thief damage by just camping Earth with Stone Heart.
If you see them stealth up, you can swap attunements and the backstab will get negated (technically blocked – including unblockable attacks – on any critical strike as it negates procs as well) entirely. Backstab is actually less-bursty than just using dagger AA after Shadow Shot. Strictly speaking, ele is probably the second best power-thief-killer in the game if traited to deal with them, following DH. FA played well hard-counters thief as well because it has mass AoE blinds which negate stealth attack usage and offers a lot of CC and huge burst numbers.
Anticipating the attack from stealth is an acquired skill that is also best learned by just playing a thief for a while.
He doesn’t just play ele though, saw him running around most of the time on scrapper with toolkit for more blocks. He then rage whispered half my guild saying they should play something with risk like Sc/D ele. This is with me playing a core DD ele so not exactly something super easy in the meta so take that how you will.
If he as a roamer hasn’t a counter to thieves oneshotting him that’s his problem because many classes will CC and burst from stealth given half a chance. He could always trait tempests defence and/or use arcane shield or even have auto arcane shield at 50% and not be silly enough to run full zerk.
If you run full zerk Sc/D ele and have only mistform as your defence that is 100% your fault and you deserve to die for running a bad build.
Full glass vanilla s/d ele players are only ones who i don’t send rage whispers. D/D ele is braindead spec and only reason to play it is low skill level.
As an ele main you have actually disgusted me by this statement. D/D ele is is not even that meta anymore and you expect us to take you seriously?
Smh. Like the person said above, you deserve to die if you run for zerks with Sc/F
Lmfao healers.
I’ve grown used to the fact Anet despises anything that doesn’t pump out damage.
Support? What’s that?
We had more people QQ about healer classes than the ridiculous damage classes, and now y’all wanna QQ saying there needs to be new meta healers?
Nope, PVP people on the forums are like the crazy ex:
One minute they are crying in your arms saying they need you, but the next they are trying to slice your tires of your car.
Inb4 magi’s gets taken out of the game for some strange reason and all there is left is mender’s.
I mean raids really don’t give much tbh.
All they get is ugly as heck armors that really don’t make much of a difference. Oh boy yayyyy stat swapping, let me just go do the thing that takes less then 2g to go switch my ascended.
If they want the most ‘veteran’ people there, that’s fine.
I’ll just be laughing when I get the bulk of everything else in PVE, WvW, and PVP.
It’s even more funny when people /only/ raid and do nothing else.
You are basically praying for drops that you are not guaranteed, and have to wait a week for your raids to reset while I can do content every single day and probably make more gold in an hour compared to you trying to organize people in an hour.
Again, the raid community itself is laughable when they want to be serious and fractals are even taking over their position.
Raids are a minority in PVE. Everything else you can get by grinding outside of them. So don’t be mad ladies and gentlema, because in the end you are not missing anything
I get that you’re in melee range putting you at risk, but so are guardians, thieves, and revs, and they don’t have nearly the amount of sustain that warriors have without sacrificing damage.
And you buddy boy, I’m gonna stop ya right there.
Did you just say Guardians don’t have that much sustain?
AHA!
Whoo, wow that actually was a really funny joke ya got there. Especially because of the fact I’ve seen more full damage guardians last longer than any power warrior I’ve come across.
Yeah. Let’s nerf one of the worst classes in the meta right now. If you guys were to put in as much time learning how to play than you do kittening on forums, you’d be better. God this community is stupid.
sory but the worst class Medal goes to necro…….
I am going to be very frank with you.
You have a L2P issue.
You want to know why?
Because, you are saying that Warriors heal so much?
You know what has even happened to warrior as a whole?
On the power side Warriors had gotten:
Adreanal Health
Endure Pain
Primal Bursts
Headbutt
Shield Skills
Mace
Axe
Greatsword
Nerfs. All of these things that made Power Warrior relevant got nerfed. Don’t believe me? Go to the wiki and look at the most recent patches and look at all of those things that I just listed get nerf. Some of them had cooldowns adjusted, heals toned down, animations fix so they are slower so they can be countered. It is so bad that Warrior has NO meta build. Again, don’t believe me? Go look at metabattle, click Conquest and go look in the Meta section of the builds and tell me if Warrior is there. Go on, tell me. I’ll wait.
I understand PoF stuff looks scary, but seriously, having a thread being written saying Warrior is ‘out of control’ and then people like you guys AGREEING with him, makes me really sit down here and actually wonder if you are legit serious right now. Honestly, you guys are looking at the one dude that was trying to make the case that Ventari Rev was actually threat and he came off as laughable at best.
Both power warrior and condi warrior is underwhelming. Power more so than condi.
Necroes rip through their boons.
Scrappers thunderclap them with a CC follow up by either a DPS class or another CC heavy class
Mesmer dances around them
Thief chain CC kills them with another DPS class
Ele heals through their damage or straight out ignore it
Guardians simply laugh at it
Rangers simply kite them or heal through their damage
You people are putting up very weak and very unconvincing arguments, so I am curious what kind of rebuttal you have for this.
Wait, you are having problems with thief on ele?
Huh?
I can condi cleanse through condi thief burst with a staff.
And that’s when I’m feeling lulzy.
How are you not practically 2-shotting them, I know FA damage is not that low and I know you have enough mobility to keep them on their toes.
Are we playing the same class?
I am so confused with why people are having issues with this build?
I’m more irritated about the constant duo necro boon strip and condi necro bombs that, for some reason, I keep getting paired against.
^ no warrior, hater!
To be fair there was no ‘meta’ build listed.
The most war had was a ‘great’ or ‘good’ build
I am assuming people are wagering that warrior got kicked out of meta for now, but if you consider the power build meta than apologies. It honestly slipped my mind.
If we are talking about the sole meta builds:
Ele: Mender
Thief: Marauder
Guardian: Marauder
Druid: Mender
Rev: Marauder
Engie: Mender
Mesmer: Sage
Necro: Carrion
Most of the builds are Marauder builds for DPS, Menders for the supports, and then necro and mesmer being the only outliers. Now this is /only/ the most meta of builds.
So where is that amulet diversity? I understand Celestial was horribad, but you can’t actually believe there is more amulet diversity now.
I find it funny people say burn guardian is easy to handle, but it somehow sneaks into most plat games I’ve had the pleasure of watching.
I also find it funny that people said, a long time ago back when guardian, as a class, was being discussed and those same people said it was a low-skill class therefore it would not see much popularity in the high tier play aka plat and sometimes legendary. Now let us take a look at the platinum rank as a whole, hell or even just pop into the PVP lobby at any time and count how many people carry either as just simply a guardian or a burn guardian.
Plat is literally either guardians or thieves. Thieves, at least it has mostly a high skill cap. I can respect players who can bring themselves up into plat with thief because I’ll tell you right now, that class is hard to truly master in a highly competitive mode. Guardian is a downright laughable because its an easy class in ALL modes that it has been in.
Best part, burn guardian is getting even STRONGER when the xpac drops, so not only will they be even HARDER to kill, they most likely will have even STRONGER burn ticks even though their core traitline for burn has been slightly tuned and fixed to be a ‘nerf’.
Because platinum is extremely easy to get into, quit making it out like it’s a hard thing to do and that if you are to get into plat then you will be paired with actually good players… Platinum is nothing special and is , again, very easy to get into especially if you do well on your placements with a duo.
Excuse me sir, did I complain anywhere about my MMR or the fact that I was in t3 gold?
Did you just make an assumption because I was talking about a /build/, and not MMR.
I know it may be hard for you to understand, but there are actually some people that don’t zero in and complain about being in set tier because their ‘teammates are bad’
So I’ll sit here and wait for you to point out the direct wording as to where I was whining about the fact that I wasn’t in plat this season.
Let’s be honest, it’s because people are lazy.
Who wants to pay attention to one of the most mobile classes in the game.
Its like in a game like Overwatch where you don’t pay attention to the assassin/flanker.
You don’t pay attention, yo Mercy or squishy damage dealer is gonna die.
Same logic applies here.
If you don’t pay attention to the one whose intent is to cleave your ‘backline’, then you are going to melt.
You can literally apply that kind of logic, even if GW2 PVP is ring around the rosey.
But people are always like: “B-But evades..!”
Yea, okay, pay attention to them and act like a ‘team’.
You all are thinking like solo’ers
I find it funny people say burn guardian is easy to handle, but it somehow sneaks into most plat games I’ve had the pleasure of watching.

If the Six exists somewhere in this game…
Please oh kitten please let their be a kitten balance patch to this season.
Please, freaking spare us and say there is a balance patch that will follow.
How the hell could you bring D/D ele back?
The only thing I can see to it is like..a might build to make the burst damage spike incredible, but after the burst, you would constantly have to rotate out of fire until cooldowns reset in order to start back up again.
And there’s not really a good amulet to pair up with what you want to achieve.
Rune of Strength?
Rune of Hoelbrek?
Rune of Herald (For more boon duration aka might, protection on heal, and an added bit of toughness)
With maybe sage or even mender’s?
All the choices to try and make d/d ele even somewhat optimal is so awkward and lacking in one key department, I don’t think it is even worth it to try and bring the build back until Weaver comes up.
At least Weaver can cover over what Tempest could not after the Celestial removal.
Too bad that most of the people that actually give constructive conversations on these forums are gold+ and plat +
Move along now kiddo
Actually no, I don’t main Ventari Rev at all.
I actually main auramancer.
You can take several seats now.
And if you think only Mender’s deserve to be the ONLY VIABLE support amulet.
You actually can go find the door right now.
Because the fact that you are trying to advocate and push supports builds out, and only try to pull offensive builds in says something about YOU.
I want an equal balance of support and damage, thus far you have only talked about wanting to gut /support/ amulets.
This is not Call of Duty my dude, this is a game that needs to have Support, Bunker, Damage.
Not damage, damage, and more damage.
Smh, as I said, keep QQing, I’m gonna enjoy every moment of it while you cry and whine about not being able to deal with a class.
As the person has said above me, you have a L2P issue.
And your point?
That is tournies, which is different compared to if you were playing in rank.
Of course builds that are less popular, and require more coordination is going to be better compared to ranked where you literally pug.
Have you not read any of the threads about Ventari Rev?
Are you new?
It physically struggles if you do not have, at least, three people to coordinate with.
Tempests, Druids, and Support Guardians literally do everything better than this build.
It’s only viability is literally within WvW.
So let me ask again, are you actually serious about this complaint?
You just sound like ‘that guy’ who wants to gut EVERY single support build in this game and pidgeon-hole people to DPS things mindlessly.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
..Wait
You were actually serious?
You actually have issues something that is not a DPS class?
Oh golly gee, let me go sit down and watch another person qq about supports again
A friend of mine, he’s was in tier 3 gold when he started and had dropped down.
Me and my partner also duo often, and I will agree with this there are /alot/ of plats in a tier 2 and tier 3 gold matches.
I can understand for tier 3 gold, but why in tier 2 gold are their plats between 1500-1570?
I mean, I believe it is overtuned, but at this point why even bother complaining about?
People seem to forget the ever infamous burn guardians/meditrapper, that for some reason, most people in the higher tiers seem to play.
However, I strictly remember said high tier players saying that guardians would never make to plat+ play, yet majority of their games consist of guardians that are either burn/meditrapper.
Hm, I find it also funny that the the previous ‘God of PVP’ also mained a guardian and rolfstomp’d many faces with said class.
Again, thief is just the flavor of the month to begin with.
I’ll just sit and wait until people start crying about supports like Tempest again, because they can’t stand not doing enough number damage.
Smh.
Honestly, I believe that needs to be /no/ alts period, for any reason.
Anet needs to have a rule, that if you are going to take their game competitively, they need to have one account they are climbing.
If they find out there’s an alt that’s in the top 25 or whatever, they immediately get wiped out and someone else takes their place.
This is ridiculous people needs /this/ many alts just to get gold, prizes, or whatever for themselves.
Honestly, what is this even.
@Olrun
Honestly, why am I not surprised.
I am going to say this: I have never seen pro within a PVP setting or any game that has PVP aspects to it, try and pull down a game this badly.
But to be fair, I never seen this many pros really be active in public forums like this, so I guess GW2 can be famous for revealing all kind of personas and faces that their ‘top players’.
Mind you, I have no qualms with people that are simply good at the game. I can very well say, as of now and the little time I have been on GW2 I am simply a gold tier player and probably will not see plat for at least another six months or even a year.
But it just baffles me how many of these clearly very good players are going out and purposefully sabotaging, griefing, flinging toxic threads, taking under the table money and other unsportman-like practice within this game alone.
Every game has this, no doubt, but GW2 just makes it so clear and so visible, I’m wondering if it was just the kind of crowd that they attracted at the end of the day.
Honestly, Abjured really surprised me and it makes me wonder if pro teams in mobas, first person, or even other mmos can even see any ounce of respect towards them as being on similar skill levels themselves.
No matter what happens I got my boys for life. I’d never turn or snitch on my boys. There’s still some people that actually have logic on these forums even though they no longer play. The old community was where it was at. People now a days just look for excuses and to point fingers at anyone to create drama. Guess that’s why this game is dead and the players that flourished are succeeding in life.
Says the now wannabe street thug that sounds suddenly knows about life.
Your ‘boys’ could not even save you from getting caught
If you were actually smart like Naru for example you would not even be here on these forums
I have a sliver of respect more for Naru, than either you or Nos
You guys make yourselves look even more pathetic, while you should be taking the smart approach and just leave.
GG I guess, makes for a nice quote collage to show to my silver, gold, and plat friends.
I’ll call it: ‘What happens when PVP on a video game consumes your life completely and you have nothing else to turn to.’
Bye, your done, dismissed, finito
You are dried up, now go smurf on smite or league :^]
I’m sure they’ll love you over there.
(edited by Lilyanna.9361)
When grown adults cheat on a game.
Smh.
Y’all just need to go lay down.
They were able to get away with such incompetence in the past because there literally was no competition.
There still is no competition.
Black Desert Online is so far removed from the qualities that make Guild Wars 2 great, I have no idea how anyone can maintain a lasting connection with that game. I went all in on that game. I bought the $100 pack for the four-days early access, grinded to 50 in literally a day, and then realized there’s absolutely nothing to do in that game aside from just mindlessly trashing mobs in circles.
It has a shallower end-game than Guild Wars 2 had in 2012, and the fact that you have to constantly grind to stay competitive makes it literally the antithesis to Guild Wars 2. There is very little skill involved in winning fights in BDO, and when it’s impossible to setup your combos because you’re trying to grapple someone with over 100 ping, you can’t help but admit the entire combat system is all flash but no substance. More importantly, many professions have too many mobility skills, and they just run away when they start losing a fight. If I could compare it best, it’s as if everyone was a thief or gs+s/wh warrior and just resets the second a fight goes south.
I’d rather play 3 more years of ArcheAge mageball kitten than put myself through that. BDO is a terrible game on so many levels; it’s bad enough that the only time that you can actually participate in castle sieges is on Saturday nights, so you have to choose between having a social life or forgoing experiencing the bulk of that game’s endgame.
I guess everyone has different tastes. But you really havent experienced endgame at 50, the game doesn’t actually begin till you hit 60 and have all TET gear. PvP is the endgame in BDO, the pve is just there as something to get you to 60 so you can pvp. I personally like it that way since i don’t enjoy pve at all. BDO is everything I like about GW2 with all the crap I dislike about it removed. PVE in BDO is basically just a meaningless minigame that you do until you can participate in pvp.
Node wars, GvG, and dueling arenas are the endgame. And once your gear is equal and both people are 60, its purely skill based as far as duels go. There are no cheese carry builds like there are in gw2 with craploads of passive traits and spammy conditions that take no skill to land on someone like in gw2. I like the fact that there are no dungeons or raids. Dungeons and raids, and the crying pvers are what ruined pvp and wvw balance in gw2.
You are relating apples to oranges pretty much.
You are trying to compare a PVP-based mmo to a PVE-based mmo that has very little PVP aspects to it.
Good job
/slowclap
And the fact that BDO has a second ‘awakening’ where you are basically revert back to base class, except a little bit stronger is simply laughable.
BDO can do nothing but copycat other franchises and piggyback off of games like Blade and Soul, and any other typical Korean-based PVP mmo.
This is what happens when you guys complained about supports being OP and now have nothing left but damage, damage, and more damage.
People cried and whined about clerics, soldier’s, hell even about ele, druid, and bunker mesmer cooldowns to help support these damage classes and cleanse you, but now that they are basically nerfed and are the #TeamGirlfriend class now, condis are now a problem?
Pfft.
What is it that this community even want anymore?
Whatever helps ya sleep at night.
This doesn’t effect me, and the damage is already done so you can keep ‘luling’ or whatever you do all you want.
Again, take it how you will.
As other say and I quote: The matches, tourneys, and PVP as of now in GW2 is a joke.
Anyways good day, I’m gonna go have my morning coffee now.
It looks like the thread was deleted by whoever because it was up yesterday
Not my job to go and fetch it.
If you want it, go ask Jeffie who had posted it yesterday.
It was a good match, equal skill on both sides, but very clear who was there and who was in control.
I do not know whether to even laugh or just shake my head at this.
I could go on a rant for how blalantly low the pro players have gotten over the past years in GW2, but again it is not even worth it at this rate.
It’s pretty obvious that some of them are putting in the effort to go and ruin this for everyone.
And then there are the folk who have their caps on so tight that they cannot even see past their own blindness.
If what is being said that is true and the ones keep saying: “Show proof?” Do you not see it in front of you? Four people coming out of nowhere, suddenly being good? You think other ‘pros’ would have start getting the buzz about potential upcomings of people that have similar skill to them? However, watching that stream myself it was very clear no one knew them, and suspiciously the one person that was on the team was fairly well known.
So for the proof whiners: There is a literal thread for it, don’t be blind.
For the pros ruining this game: Good job boys, your mothers and Anet are so proud. You have single-handedly destroyed a whole game mode because you could not learn basic human decency. Here’s a golf clap for you.
For Anet: Gg. Never thought I would have to cut a game mode out of my schedule because of the lack of response or care, but oh how you proved me wrong. I rather not climb into a tier where people lie, cheat, and basically bend the rules to their whim and then have the gall to go and try parade around, waving a meaningless MMR in other people’s faces to make them feel lesser. This was not an issue until MMR became visible, and then hell decided to break loose.
Okay. So I understand that the nature of support builds have the potential to be spammy, or are gonna be spammy, but you need to think of it like this.
There is a difference between a good and a great player.
A good player, is going to be, the definition of spammy. (IE using all of their skills in one burst, trying to spam CC lock down the opponent with the rest of the team, of using all of the big burst heals early)
The great player is going to wait, going to clearly see when they need to be the saving grace, time the hard CC for key targets like a boon shred necro or the burn guardian.
Saying that the support builds are ‘just too spammy’, that is not the player’s fault at that point, it is the fault of the ones who allowed that build to exist in that manner.
And lets be honest though, any healing class, in the MMOs that I have been in are spammy. That’s just it.
But the great players are the ones who always /will/ be the ones on top because they can separate themselves from the spamminess and make it good.
And another point, I am just going to say this.
Any condi heavy build or hard power build is spammy as well. Because not only do they have damage, but they have the CC to back it up.
Though, putting tweaks on numbers to make certain strong skills more balance, that I will agree with.
Honestly, Anet needs to follow a guideline of checks and balances, and right now…they don’t have that currently.
Wait.
Are there people REALLY complaining about the fact that -vets- are receiving more rewards because they have been around longer?
Are you actually kidding me?
I am a new player to WvW (Rank 22), been playing PVE and PVP for about a year and a half, going on two.
Are you literally going to sit there and try to justify the fact that because you did not grind, work for, or earn ranks you are going to whine and cry?
That is like me crying about the fact that most VET PVErs (which most of you complainers are, I have no DOUBT in my mind), have the kitten Tequatl Wings backpiece, or the Chainsaw Greatsword that costs over 1k gold on the market, or the Crimson Wurm Head mini that was completely -removed- from the game and only again, say it with me now, -vets- have?
How you all even sit there (especially you veteran PVErs) sit there, and trying to even justify this?!
Does it take you only a week to build a legendary if you are starting a new account?
Does it take you only a week to build ascended? Or to do the storymodes, or getting enough AR to climb to t4 fractals?
So -why- in Dwayna’s name do you want to be spoonfed?
Have you not play any form an MMO that requires -work-, -time-, -effort? Are those not principles anymore?
I am actually ashamed to see people trying to reap more reward than they even remotely deserve. I will fully admit. I was -kittened- that I had to grind for the Gift of Battle because, at the time, the thought of going up against full tier maps and just getting farmed on depressed me. But going in with friends (mind you they did not even have as much PVP knowledge as me), allowed us to -have- fun. My friend who -hated- PVP now loves it because of WvW. He knows how to be a proper scout, to do call-outs, to hell even now become an ele main because he was so determined to help our little 5-man party out. Even the kitten PVEr of the group who only played support druid had more fun with a bit of cooperation from the more PVP-experienced ones. The rewards should -not- be the big priority. It should be the kitten experiences and skills that you can apply to other gamemodes to make -you- as a player better at the game.
Moral of the rant: I have no sympathy for those who want insta-gratification.
(edited by Lilyanna.9361)
FINALLY.
Please, just start banning all of the ones who sit there laughing and twirling their mustaches like they are a Saturday morning cartoon villains.
I’d prefer them having harsher punishments, but for now I suppose this can do since there needs to be some form of investigations.
Continue what you need to do Anet!
The sad part is, the OP is completely correct with this statement.
Me and my significant other often duo que together because he usually covers a more offensive role, and I slot in for a defensive role (because some reason no one likes to support).
We were both in t2 gold at the time. (Originally we were in t3, but bad games is bad games).
I had mentioned this thread previously to him, so he decided to add all of our teammates and then add all of the people on the other side.
So, the match starts and we win the first teammfight. After, that we completely get thrashed into the floor.
Afterwards, my partner goes to look at the other team..
Guardian- 1504
Thief- 1560
Engie- 1545
The rest of their team consisted of a tier 2 and a t3 gold.
Our team had the average between 1300-1400 overall.
Why the -hell- do we have platinums in our game, at t2 gold? I understand can fully admit when I am beat by players that have been here longer than me (I’ve only been here for a year and a half now, going on two soon), but really? T1 plats against T1-2 golds? If there is one thing I cannot tolerate is being openly farmed because a company refuses to acknowledge a problem.
I can take my losses, swing with the stride and move on, but just knowing all of my practice with other guildies who legit took their time to team me and improve as a better bunker, went out the door and do not matter because I apparently am going to get paired up with t1-t2 plats who clearly have reached a skill cap I have not yet? What the heck is the point. I want matches my own tier, not getting farmed by others who been in this game since beta.
Truly disheartening, and honestly I do not even go on the forums that much to complain. I enjoy PVP, but that is just sad. Thank OP, for making people aware of this. Thought I’d put my experiences there.
Wait!
When did farming on multiple characters become a sudden issue?
I have over ten (going to eleven soon), paid my hard earned money to get the slot and take MY time to level every single character to level 80.
If they really considered hopping on different characters to farm the same thing an exploit that is utter trash.
There is nothing unfair about that, especially when everyone in the game could make a plethora of characters and do the SAME exact thing.
Anyways, I’m not going to get up and arms about this, but I pray that what I listed above will not become an issue
At the end of the day, no one is really going to -try-. They are in it for the gold and rewards and you know it.
Didn’t read the rest of your post after this. It’s like you can’t possibly comprehend the attitude towards the game of someone trying to be competitive has. Like that’s a good thing.
How am I not comprehending this?
How is this benefiting anyone?
How are people truly being competitive if they know even if they lose they are still getting reward?
Having a competitive attitude is wanting to -be good- at whatever class or classes you pick up?
Allowing this idea of: “Meh, so what if I lose, I’m still getting the good stuff?”
What am I missing exactly?
I am not here to whine or argue, I am here to get answers because this is simply not adding up anymore.
If you wish to give me a legit answer or not, fine, that is your choice, no skin off of my teeth, but this does not simply add up.
But hey, I don’t blame you, I’m sure you do not take the time to read many other things as well.
My issue is at the end of the day, you guys just promoted people to not PVP but to farm in a PVP-esque setting. Because I was in high sapphire going to get into ruby last season (couldn’t get the last week in), but this season you are telling me I have the equivalent skills of an amber person getting into emerald? How is that fair, especially when I have worked myself out for all of -your- seasons. This system is a slap to my face, completely throwing my efforts out the window.
At the end of the day, no one is really going to -try-. They are in it for the gold and rewards and you know it. My icon is telling me my skills are crappy (even though I’ve been playing this game for a year to slowly improve, practicing 1v1, learning how to rotate, bunker etc.) but because brand new spanking people entering in to simply farm, or people suddenly gaining the idea of: ’Oh I do not have to win, I am getting my chests either way. Yay! 20g, transmutes, ascended shards, and league tickets for me!"
-You- are planting this idea and people in lower tier, or heck even in gold are not going to put there one hundred into it. You took away the effort, and simply put in -this-. Honestly, I don’t care about the classes, and I don’t care about the MMR, I care about the fact -I- am getting punished because knowing even when me and my duo partner try are very hardest to make a difference in a game, we cannot carry. We cannot rely on Rev do be that much needed dps to take out the raging heal bots or boon bots that are springing around. We cannot go two supports on a team only on risking there may be a third, we cannot go glass cannon in fear there will not be enough support to keep our team alive. So what -can- we do? Pray that all that time we had practicing together pays off somehow down the road?
I’m not looking for ascended gear to be thrown at me, because I can get that in PVE. I want people to actually care and try, to actually have it feel like PVP again like in the old system. Let me be stuck in sapphire until I earn the skills to reach Ruby, but do not have me stare at pointless numbers saying that my skill is equivalent to lower emerald when I know and can admit I worked and practiced for many months.
P.S. This is coming from someone who used to be in gold and got dropped into silver not even a day later because of bad matchups. I guess I am bad I suppose?

Warrior: “Oh you want to burn? Let me press two buttons and you’re irrelevant.”
Ele: “Traps? Lawl let me piano my way into earth and then water and not care.”
Engie: “What damage?”
Mesmer: “Good luck with catching me and my clones. Oh yea! I’m condi too and can heal”
Thief: “Backstab.”
Revanant: “Sorry, I’m too nerfed for this crap.”
Ranger: “Lol, DH, how cute. Let me proceed to bunker.”
Base Guardian: “Staff, Staff, Staff, Mace/Shield, Staff”
Necro: “Lemme put down three marks, go Reaper, and proceed to tank through all of your ‘burst’”
No, Dragonhunter doesn’t do crap. All of the classes [except for Rev] can check a Dragonhunter if played right.
Oh you want more proof that DH is garbage and only good for low tier, and solo que? Look at the professionals and the team comps. Guardian has not been seen for how long? Three or four seasons now? Dragonhunter has /never/ been in a professional team comp, only Base Guardian. Now to everyone who said this class is the most broken, just stop.
Two things to address:
1. (For the p2w/b2p aspect) You do not -need- HoT for PVP. You don’t. Honestly, go tell a pro or someone that is good in PVP that they could not beat you without their elite specs. They would proceed to laugh in your face, take off their elite spec, and then kick you to Foefire and back. Yes, there is a power creep, but it doesn’t matter to those who are generally naturals in PVP.
2. (For the rifle bit) I think people are grossly simplifying engineers, which I strike as odd..Do people realize that engineers are not a solo-weapon class, but a multi-weapon one? Of course, rifle is not meant to do a ton of damage. This class is KNOWN for their strings of long (and sometimes complicated) rotations. Hammer doesn’t do a lot either, its just that their utility is a bit better. Of course, Anet wants to promote the scrapper more so than the old engie. But people seem to be hyperfocusing on their main weapon, when in reality their damage comes from multiple kits. Rifle knockdown is an issue? They give themselves a butt ton of stability to by pass the stability completely. Oh the damage of rifle is too low? They can stack vulnerability through explosives where the damage now matters in a matter of seconds. But hammer can stack might!!! Do you even read the traits? The traits honestly put in more work than the actual main weapon itself to be honest. So people that are grossly simplifying this class, stop it. Rifle is just a good, you just want more to it. You want it to be uberly broken so you can laugh in people’s face. Don’t lie. After seeing many marauder rifles take down power hammer players, I can say rifle has just as much of a place. It’s the fact that their popularity as sunk immensely since the new specs came out. That’s all.
PS. A lot of the aspects of the scrapper got nerfed, so actually the regular engineer is starting to push ahead a bit. Sorry boiz, the original is starting to creep back in. And no scrapper is not good in PVE either, stop saying that. You sound ridiculous.
Rifle used to be the #1 Engi PvP weapon. Pistol held its own too. These were good weapons. Why are they not used any more? Two words: power creep. They weren’t nerfed. HoT happened.
HoT introduced so many things that obsoleted vanilla weapons and builds as competitive options. They need to be competitive so that the game isn’t pure Pay to Win, for free to players as well as for some build diversity – something that the game used to have, but really doesn’t any more.
…Did you really just say Guild Wars 2 is P2W? I am not even sure if I should take you seriously.
