Already made this thread a few days after the pickaxe sale. Anet doesn’t care about consistency and patterns, they only wanted a metric of the sales they would get if they halved the price on the most sought after gathering tool. Clearly they didn’t like the numbers, so they didn’t put of the other two types.
Anet, you gave a discount for pick axe. This should have immediately been followed up with sickle and axe in either order. Neither one has been shown yet. Everyone who wants a permanent harvesting tool is anticipating the other two to have the same discount during this sale (if you don’t, that’s just an kitten thing to do). Quit putting stuff previously on sale on sale again and put the harvesting tools up so we can buy them and start making use of the gems we bought to get them.
Regardless it is no different from current legendaries requiring Gift of Battle forcing them to play some WvW or Gift of Exploration forcing them to do map completion or dungeon-specific gifts requiring them to farm dungeon tokens.
No it isn’t. Someone can straight up buy a legendary without having to do any of that. These things are account bound.
The problem with it being stuck behind fractals is this the first legendary besides weapons we have. The problem is it alienates a group of players, which hate dungeons. If there were multiple back pieces with different content, then sure, lock them behind different ones, but doing dungeons with randoms and idiots, dealing with frustration, etc is not the way the very first legendary armor piece should be treated. It should be based on individual skill anyway. Too much of this game relies on having bad players who get carried.
Each key of nightmare gives 3 champ bags and one rare with a possibility of 3 as it gives three pieces of gear. Breach + Vinewrath gives ~15 champ bags and the fort defenses give upwards of 30 bags of gear with 3 pieces of gear each. If a player does the whole hour for the entire thing, that’s quite a bit of chances for rares to salvage.
Having a rune/sigil system for pve which mirrors pvp. Losing gold to experiment is not fun, especially when the build doesn’t work. A system to swap armor/trinkets/traits quickly because it’s hard to be efficient when it takes a minute each time to swap all of these. A template should be separate for armor/trinkets and traits obviously. These things have been asked and discussed before and they wouldn’t be able to include it specifically in the expansion, but they should be included in a patch around when the expansion gets released so there will be a more fluid gameplay involved when starting it.
I don’t have a link to the post, but when I read it, it did have a link to a post from a dev saying there would be no gear with higher stats than ascended, but they might put some tiers in between the lower ones.
Or, they could incentivize map event completion by requiring a level 5 Perseverance to open the Vinewrath chest?
This would be one of the worst ideas ever. If enough people leave the map for some reason and there aren’t enough players on the map, that map fails because no one wants to taxi into an event for no rewards.
While I agree, you can buy the stuff for sinister. It’s actually pretty cheap.

These items should be so exclusive as to need to do hundreds of dungeons to have access to them. Not only that, but the cost of any of the trinkets is way too much. In order to have ascended on every class requires too many laurels. Obviously, this is the reason they made ascended account bound, but some people want a set for each character anyway. I’m looking forward to ascended jewel crafting as I don’t enjoy/have access to the content required for some of these, or am severely gated because I have to spend laurels on both ascended recipes and ascended trinkets both. Along with that, it requires as many laurels to get an entire set of armor as it does to get one of the cheapest ascended trinkets. That doesn’t make any sense.
No, because when forging a lot of the same item, i.e. runes/sigils, it would make it more of a massive pain than it already is.
I’m really hoping they make these accessible again. I started playing after all these recipes were unavailable, but some of the sigils (torment and malice) would be really nice to make myself since they are ~13g on the TP.
While the idea would be more ideal than what we currently have, it would negate the need for invisible bags, which is what a fair number of people use to avoid having all their important stuff moved when compacting. I would love to see it happen, but as there is an option of some sort to prevent the items from moving, I doubt it will happen any time soon.
There are no good reasons to not add dueling. Again, there are no good arguments for not adding it.
How about not wanting to hear a bunch of random sound effects of fighting when I’m at the bank/tp/crafting/waiting for an event. I hear enough of this crap at these places without dueling being added to the game.
Quip/pop gun by far because they are the most annoying sounds in the game (besides Toxic hybrid). I turn the game sound off if I hear one and keep it off until I leave the zone.
After having the consortium harvesting sickle for a while, I noticed the Reap-r-Tron in the gem store. I liked the animation after seeing another person use it, so I bought it with hopes of a quick harvest like the consortium. After using it, I was a bit disappointed with the length of time needed to get the plant. I’ve seen all the animations and watched the times needed to be able to move after activating the node (for the tools I don’t own) and the Reap-r-Tron is the only one which requires you to finish the animation before you get the plant (others give it to you almost immediately after interacting). While I understand the permanent tools are mean to be convenient for not having to buy more tools and have neat animations, I like the speed of gathering of the consortium sickle. I’m hoping Anet will be willing to adjust the Reap-r-Tron so it will perform at the same speed as the other tools so I don’t have to choose speed over looks as I like the Reap-r-Tron animation more.
Besides that, I would also like to suggest making chili peppers more accessible. Chili peppers are used in each tier of cooking, but are a rather important ingredient in some higher tier foods. The fact that it can only be found in Ascalon, along with it sharing nodes with many other herbs means it has a low chance of being harvested and is rather costly to buy (30s on the TP right now). I think making a chili pepper node would go a long way to helping with the price of it and since there are pepper plants in higher level instances, it wouldn’t be out of place to create this.
The last thing I would like to suggest is adding something extra for plants to replace the small chance of an unidentified dye, which was removed a while ago. When mining or chopping, there is a chance for a gem while harvesting now only gives dandelions which literally do nothing in terms of crafting. I don’t really have an idea as to what could be used for this particular item, but every time I get a dandelion I think to myself, “Great. More trash to sell to the vendor.” While I don’t mind the extra money it provides, I would like something more useful than vendor junk.

Map and location: Silverwastes at red and blue fort.
Time: 8 AM est to ~7 PM est.
Rangers abusing the pet mechanic to get credit and npcs to revive them if they die. Guardians with greatsword 4 on auto cast and move from the middle of the fort to the rocks outside and back to the middle of the fort every 30 minutes to avoid being inconspicuous.
People really shouldn’t be accusing others of exploiting when they clearly aren’t. Pets always put players in combat, this is an intended mechanic, and when players are in combat the game obviously assumes that you aren’t afk. Its all working as intended.
Yep, those guards with GS retal on auto cast who don’t move for hours are clearly not exploiting. Those 4-5 rangers (same names, same guilds) who afk for 10+ hours per day at the same place for 3 days currently and possibly more also aren’t exploiting. Kindly take your defense of these kittens and shove it. I don’t play this game for the benefit of others. I play it for the benefit of myself and when the pieces of kitten scale an event I’m doing and getting rewards for my hard work, I want to see them banned.
You know what I love? Doing world boss pre-events were players sit on their kitten afk until the boss is up, then getting the boss chest at the end even though players like myself do the event and get a disgraceful amount of karma and coin for the extra work we put in. Complete bullkitten. Obviously, this has been around forever, but the fact that Anet introduced the collections for items which are reliant on world boss drops and these lazy players now get a chance at these just pushes it over the top.
I just did the entire dredge commissar event chain by myself and guess what happened? Lazy people sat at the door where he spawns and killed him before I got there because I was unable to get out of combat in enough time. Wonderful job Anet. Reward the lazy kittenes and snuff the players who do all the work in this game.

This is 100% wrong. There is way too much wrong with the new TP. They removed a great deal necessary information to increase performance, but performance is sometimes just as slow as the old TP and, for the past day, just as unresponsive. The fact that I can’t seem more than 20 different price points which 15 of them could be low numbers means there isn’t enough information to get a true price or quantity at those prices. The fact that there aren’t the number of sellers/buyers listed means there is no way to ascertain how many people you are competing with at a price point or if it is even worth competing at that time. The fact that I have to scroll and possibly miss some listings because the number of items displayed is the size of a gameboy screen is ridiculous. I’m not a geezer, but having to strain my eyes to such a small section isn’t ideal. If anything, I want an option to make the TP my entire screen just to have more information without needing to move up or down a page. These things NEED to be changed because they provide tools necessary to use the TP to full effect. Anet dumbing down the TP was a terrible idea and not having better speeds with less information just means the new TP is a complete downgrade to the old one.
Please, I would like to see gathering nodes, TPs, and merchants again.
Partially the power users pain comes from exceeding some of the display limits added to make everything more responsive.
So you are saying you cut out 80% of information which was displayed to allow the TP to run faster, but the effectiveness players like myself have lost is 100% because there is not enough data for 99% of the items to get a good feel for the real price.
You know those math problems where they gave you a specific problem and at the end of it, one of the answers was, “Not enough information given to make an accurate answer.” That’s what you did to us with this change. If players want better performance in exchange for a lack of information they don’t use, that’s fine for them, but cutting out information for players who actually use it is beyond bullkitten. Being able to see the number of sellers at a price point and having a large pool of data was necessary to a very large portion of our trading and now we are going with gut feelings, which is very bad in long term trading and investing.
If there is anyway possible, make a way for players to click an option in the TP at the cost of performance to regain all of this information. I would rather have it load slow than not be able to use it to the degree I could previously.
They also don’t give us enough items show in a large enough quantity to see humps in prices. I didn’t even count the current one, but it’s 8-10 which is nowhere near enough data to make a decision whereas the old one gave at least 50. This TP is garbage compared to the old one and the old one didn’t even work half the time.
Easiest way to describe it would be a big kitten you patch to multiple groups. To break it down:
Dungeon runners, kitten you because you get slower dungeons with no increase in rewards for the extra amount of time you have to spend to do the dungeons which aren’t engaging in the slightest.
Key runners, kitten you because you don’t have any way to do this anymore.
New players, kitten you because really cool skins like Bonetti’s Rapier are now 3x what they cost because of collections.
Old players, kitten you because you don’t get to make alts with everything they should have. Have two skills until level 10 because new players are “too stupid” to be able to use 5.
Beyond that, there is pvp and wvw which I don’t know to a great extent, but they got very little in terms of the patch. The biggest thing I’m going to cover though, is the TP since I know that one quite well.
Intelligent TP users, kitten you because you can’t see enough quantities to make a good move pertaining to selling and buying. kitten you because you don’t get to see the number of buyers on a particular sale price and are unable to tell if you are competing with a single person or multiple people on a particular good. kitten you for not having a total profit after taking away taxes.
The reason I focus on TP more than anything is because it takes intelligence to be able to use it with any amount of efficiency. You removed the intelligence factor because the factors for making an intelligent decision have been removed. The fact that you want me to participate in kittened zerg farming to make make money is kittening bullkitten. I’ll give you a few weeks to fix this kitten or I’m gone to game which rewards intelligence.
You don’t need anything above blues to complete almost every section this game offers. Blues and greens drop so much, you can outfit all your characters without even needing to buy from the trading post. YOU choose to use exotics and buy runes/sigils, but they are far from needed.
I’m having this problem as well. I’ve tried with two separate characters with 6 hours in between them.
There was clear evidence that people were completing the event just to spite the farming group. Going invisible so they can’t be whispered, dragging the mobs to the group, and then laughing, saluting, jumping around, etc when the event was completed.
Unfortunately, the groups wouldn’t stop giving them exactly the attention they were looking for. My solution was to just leave, but I guess that’s too much to ask of a group that can’t stop flaming a troll.
Unfortunately, you are completely wrong on the attention thing. I made the event succeed so the entire map could go back to farming in a non-cesspool fashion, myself included. Almost every event on maps with this garbage farm were not being done.
It’s being talked about in Divinity. I’m trying to buy items as well, but when I click on the buy button, it goes to the unclickable animation and won’t let me buy it. I’ve swapped characters and relogged, but it still does the same thing.
If you don’t get good drops and you don’t like the TP, there isn’t much for you to do. There are many ways to get gold in the game, though most aren’t possible because most lack/refuse to put in the time to learning them. Almost everything is accessible in the TP and most are fine with that. Since you are not, I think it would be best for you to find a new game and good luck if your search if you do.
Crashing due to a "Invalid Character Motion"?

I’ve crashed multiple times in specific maps, though it is probably because I frequent those maps for gathering. Brisban, Sparkfly Fen, and Timberline Falls are those areas and I’ve had it as bad as crashing, logging in and crashing immediately, then logging back in and crashing immediately for a total of 3 times. I would say my crashes tend to be after a period of the game video freezing for periods of up 15 seconds, but that doesn’t always happen. Also tried repairing twice, but it didn’t do anything.

I have one and they do show up. I’m probably one of handful who actually feels a bit guilty about using it in front of others, knowing they will try to use it. I wish it would act like the personal bank (not golem) and just open the TP with access to getting the gold and items you could normally get. If it did this, I could also open it multiple times without having the “one npc out already” message. The only reason I bought it was because the red ! pops out on my screen and I feel the need to grab stuff when it pops up. Only being able to do that once every 5 minutes really bugs me because I’m usually gathering, and by the time I get another red !, I’m halfway across the map.
Pretty much what Sharen said. There is a legitimate train if this exploit isn’t used. If the event succeeds, most will go back to the regular pattern. It basically killing champs and doing temples when they are up.
I have to agree with the OP’s sentiment. I hate dungeons because this game takes any skill out of it with means of stacking and FGS and because I’m not a fan of doing intimate groupings with people I don’t know towards something which can lead to frustration. I do dungeons with my guild occasionally as a fifth, but fractals is a dungeon I absolutely despise. Luckily, I have 5 pristine relics from the times I have done it, but I would be pretty kittened if I didn’t have those because I might do the dungeon once a month.
No, it’s not azizul. You obviously haven’t read the comments of the only players who should have access to the tags in the first place. The colors should be changed for QoL for WvW, not so some random PvE player can buy a tag in the color of his choice to run around on a map, feeling important because his name is displayed. Also, WvW players are poor compared to PvE players and making them pay money they don’t have because it goes towards superior siege is complete bullkitten.
Sure there is, otherwise he wouldn’t complain. PvP players and WvW players suffer from not having significant rewards because most stuff is catered towards PvE since most of the player base is doing that. Most of the player base doesn’t see how much these two groups sacrifice because they don’t do the content to the extent as the more devoted players. Maybe if the OP were one of the people who did PvP or WvW, he would realize that not only is this reward something which should have been given a long time ago, but that there should be more to come for ONLY the players who do those game modes.
I find it truly hilarious to have people defend the need to keep adrenaline after using a burst skill. When I first hit 80 with my warrior and noticed this for the first time, it was one of first balance changes I would have made to the class. I think if you are against this change, chances are you have grown to rely on how stupid it is to not have consequences to using adrenaline for burst skills if you miss. Pertaining to Ire, as someone stated, god forbid you have to bring a cleanse in your utilities. I suggest wiping your memories of everything you’ve come to expect from this class and relearning it to realize how many natural defenses have been given to a class with the most simple play style.
Both myself and guild member have experienced this problem. When using two separate types of gambits, the game put us into the arena and instantly teleported us out. I was going for Candle in the Wind achievement and lost two tickets while my guildmate was trying for the Humble achievement and lost three.
I only got this bug yesterday. Started with 3 dailies done. Did Maw and Karka. Got the boss chest from Maw, but no daily rare. Didn’t get anything from Karka. Did Teq and only got 3 dragon chests. Proceeded to do every world boss getting the boss chests but no daily rares. My JPs reset and so did my nodes. My condolences to those who have had this problem for longer than I.
