How about adding a food descrambler to allow food to be salvaged?
… and potions… It’s magic after all…
Besides it’ll give worthless food a baseline value on the AH higher than 1c
I see finished foods are semi tagged as Starter, Main, Dessert.
How about allowing cooks to combine all three into a meal? (and merge the effects)
BTW Does anyone know why the game is awash with Slabs of Meat? Did they alter the drop rate or has everyone turned vegetarian? hehe
How hard can it be to remove the bots!? I can only assume they don’t care…
Maybe it’ll drive away the 3rd party sellers away… which can only be a good thing!
Strange things happened on the 20th
http://www.guildwarstrade.com/item/8877-potent-potion-of-dredge-slaying
I’m fairly certain that was just a glitch with the AH / Spidy etc – there were no mass purchases.
Quite a few of my speculations were all ‘bought’ NOT! :-(
Ahh ty!
That explains that… hmm I’d rather have a blue weapon! hehe
Always confused me… any ideas?
Perhaps, but I would call intermediates ingredients too
It’s been mentioned that the new recipes were designed to remove excess mats from the economy…

Close on 915K Supply at time of posting…
Anyone else think they picked the wrong one?
Thanks Bcd, I was of the same thinking – more being better, but then I started getting less T6 mats and more green and yellow drops. Maybe it’s just the RNG, but I was hoping someone might have conducted a trial of MF of various levels vs drop rate.
So on occasion, I go out farming T6 mats. I got to thinking would too much magic find result in a blue T6 Mat being ‘upgraded’ to a green item?
Can you have too much Magic Find?
Btw, I don’t currently use any turret builds as I find them weak, annoying and slow for farming. This suggestion though might make them more appealing…
Oh and if any devs read this, regardless what you do… please lose the 5 minute timer… I can’t think of anything more painful then seeing your field of turrets explode as you run towards them with a handful of mobs in tow…
IMHO…
Excelling at specific times? Yes!
More flexible and useful? Yes!
Useless when the enemy bypass that outpost you’ve sat in for ages? Yes!
Useless when the enemy decides not to play ball and run into the pre-arranged killing zone? Yes!
More useful than say a grenade specced engineer at keep defence? Hmm No!
Last I checked, turrets still die within seconds, their attacks can still be dodged, have a mind of their own and shoot the tanks rather than the glass cannon builds more often then not.
So… Overpowered? No! Still Balanced? Yes!
ps I’d be happy for multiple rifle turrets and leave the exotics out of the equation…
Suggestion – Allow us to slot the same turret in multiple slots
eg 3 rifle turrets, 3 rocket… etc to help defend keeps etc
I’m guessing not many folks use them, but I was actually tempted to buy 13 or so off hand weapons and have one of each type.
But I’d rather just carry one extra weapon, to avoid the constant weapon swapping. So how about letting us combine different sigils of slaying together in the mystic forge to create a super sigil that does damage to all creature types that have been forged together?
Maybe charge 25g for the item required to hold the sigils to offset the cost of the weapons ppl would otherwise have to purchase.
It only shows ingredients that are part of an ‘unknown’ recipe…
i.e. Discover all the recipes which use Apples, and apples stop appearing (unless a new patch adds a new apple recipe)
Not telling! They’d only get nerfed! :-)
maybe they only bloom at night? or some other time of day?
Should Food, Potions and items be level capped to your current level, so if you’re down scaled to level 10, only allow level 10 potions. (or do you aleady reduce the level to the equivalent level?)
Or record when players first use a new stack of harvesting tools for the first time, then again when they use the last strike of that tool. Bots should then be easy to spot
Actually an offset wouldn’t be needed just an invisible AoE node buff, with a dead space in the middle, mine the node without the buff and flag the account, collect 100 flags within 20 mins, flag it as a bot for deletion later.
Then the bot only needs to remember at which coordinates he last DCed and compare it to the coordinates he is after he reconnects to find the offset.
True… It’s more of a one trick pony to catch out as many bots as possible, for as little effort as possible, yes they will adapt…
oh and by new recipe I also mean changes to the game that have a large impact on any worthless item. For example, if they planned to have a scavenger hunt quest to return 20 bowls of soup etc
I’d like to say BLC’s but I can’t remember if a few players bought all 600K+ of them before or after the patch was released…
I like that idea, but I’m not sure it would work. When the game restarted after downtime, everyone would reappear at their old coordinates, and fry.
Not if they apply the offset when players log in… only when they try and port to a specific point will they fry.
Why is everyone assuming something bad, yes maybe I need more thought into it but basically something that says I’m AFK, my character state is frozen , cant be attacked and can’t do anything including heal/res/attack/etc … exclude WvW and make it PVE only.
That way if like now where I am in an outpost, and checking the forums, no harm shall come to me just because I got pre-occupied elsewhere.
How about an option for a popup to accept a rez, that needs to be clicked during the rez… that might work?
All that your suggestion would do is cause people to start buying up items before the patch to either profit despite ANET’s price fixing, or to directly profit from the price fixing.
In Eve Online it is very common for mineral prices to start rising before big updates in anticipation.
True, but that’s a gamble! There is no gamble to the first person/s that logs on to find a new super lvl 400 recipe and 180,000 stock at 1-5c
Why is it a problem that someone makes a profit to begin with?
I have no problem with players speculating, using judgement that X might be used later, but why should players make a chunk of cash because their computer patchs quicker or they live in the right time zone.
AFK invuln rezzer…
The AFK invulnerable would be abused by players wanting to bypass patrols. Champ mob coming my way, AFK, Champ moves through me and out of agro range, un-AFK and move along.
We’ve all seen prices spike after a patch with new recipes, with the early birds making a killing buying up previously worthless mats for 1 – 3c each, for a surefire profit.
My suggestion – prepatch Anet fulfils sell orders for now useful items up to a value chosen by Anet.
The sellers lose nothing, the only people that lose out would be the Early Birds with the fastest comp.
The mats taken out of circulation, could be used to fulfil as many buy orders as possible exactly 24 hours after the patch. Net result a gold sink for Anet.

How about adding the option to create 3 course meals in the Mystic Forge?
Tray – container sold by merchant
Starter – Soup etc
Main course
Dessert
Combine the buffs from each of the courses, keep the 30 min timer or maybe increase to 45.
Why? Just now there is a glut of unused food… with most foods selling for coppers. Because players mainly either want MF in PvE or DPS in PvP, this way they can have both and we can burn through the food stockpiles three times as fast.
Of course players may opt to just run their solo foods as they do now, I just think cooking needs a little bit of something to make it a viable craft.
OR
How about ANET just throws a chunk of virtual coin and buys up all the food off the AH costing 1 or 2c? NPC’s have to eat after all!
Add say 1,000,000 to all three coordinates then fill all areas outside the displaced map with lava, and watch the telebots fry?
hmm also make lava debuff last until removed by a GM…
I must have over 5000 items/stacks sitting in the queue waiting for a rainy day when I can get round to listing them.
I love the current system, I only wish they’d build on the existing ingredients with new recipes and add a collection tabs for the transient mixtures, that are expensive to make but get dumped to make inventory space -
Bowl of Red Meat Stock
Bowl of Tangy Sautee Mix
Bowl of Winter Vegetable Mix
Pasta Noodles
Pile of Divinity Fair Herbs
Pile of Paprika
Pile of Simple Stew Herbs
Pile of Tangy Seasoning
Jar of Orange Sauce
Jar of Citrus Cream Sauce
Bowl of Pesto
etc… etc…
