the problem here is arena net sees no problem with how melee and bosses work, being 1-2 shot while your groups range stands still dpsing was apparently a design decision. Typical response you will get is just use your ranged weapon, ofcourse if you play a guardian your scepter damage is absolutely horrible and the entire point of playing the class is to be effective IN melee range not kiting everything around
honestly why this wasnt in the game at launch is a huge ???? seems lazy to wait so long for something so simple and necessary
i have noticed an odd pattern of dropped rares usually dropping no ectos even with black lion kits, and when they do always only 1. Crafted rares i get the full range 0-3, in the end its almost worth just selling rares
been missing just the precursor for a few months now, and fed the forge atleast 1500 gs with no results. Still waiting on a fix
i see only good in it, for one if a group does not want a specefic build in group is it not better to ask them to leave at the start of the run instead of figuring out half way through that theyre setup is not working well in the group and just vote kicking them? second is someone running a MF suit and just bringing everyone down. In any given run its very easy to tell when the groups dps is just not cutting it, but pinpointing who it is when everyone seems to be using theyre abilitys correctly is much tougher. The faster the leech is dropped the faster a rep can be found and the run can be completed. Finally fractals and agony resist, again better to replace the guy who joined with none before the run starts then wasting everyones time.
about the supply, there is a huge supply. The problem is there are exploiters that filled theyre banks with dusk and dawns when it was possible to obtain them for nearly nothing and now can control the market forever. All ANet has to do is Add a quest that requires the 3 final gifts to start to obtain the precursor and it would fix the whole mess
i have all 3 gifts aswell and burned over a thousand rares into the forge, there seriously needs to be a fix
why not gamble your karma for a chance at something of value when you have no need of it? the boxes are worth it to alot of people if you ask me just dont expect rng to always favor you
i opened around 60 boxes and got nothing but the different karma containers and sell junk, guess bad luck or just another karma sink
i may be off base here but theres a big chest guarded by a champ near the furthest north SP in malchors that could have a chance to drop it, i have never seen anyone push passed the SP to even know the chest is there but who knows
yah i was gonna say how can you say they are at a loss if you harvested the mats yourself, a loss would have to be under the cost of harvesting once or twice on a cheap harvesting tool
guardians and warriors stacking tough vit do a great job of tanking, and eles do a great job of healing. But usually rolls only work in premade groups usually with guilds, if your going to run in a pug expect 5 dps dodging and going down alot
i have forged around 1,000 rare gs and so far only gotten 1 named exotic, an ebonblade. The drop rate is utterly insane, i would just make weapons, break them down for ectos, and wait for the scavenger hunt
if you build a group around having a guardian with maybe 3/4 power toughness vitality gear and gs for reasonable damage they will never lose aggro for whatever reason, it accomodates the glass cannon warriors and synergies fairly well. Though ofcourse a pug isnt going to be so picky about the group makeup, and that is the problem. Its just inviting the first 4 other people lfg
theres actually some very powerful heal builds with ele, mix that with a guard or warrior stacking power touhness vitality gear and what you have there is your tank and healer, maybe not as powerful as they typically are in other mmos but it still works effectively in every dungeon
its funny to see people say there is no tanking and healing rolls, because its been around since day 1 and is going nowhere. I run power toughness vitality virtually everything on guard and my guild runs a very good healing ele. Aggro never leaves me from trash mobs to bosses and the only time i lose agg is when they turn to use special abilitys. The eles healing is good enough to outheal any damage aslong as im not standing in red circles while being hit with a bosses special 1 shot attack. I feel sorry for people who try and run dungeons with the belief healing does not exist so wp zerging is necessary
I play a guardian that stacks power toughness vitality gear for all dungeons, and i run with an elementalist that runs a full heal suit and abilitys. I can tell you tank and heals are alive and well in this game even if people scream otherwise
well seeing as how t6 crafting mat prices have gone up 5-10x what they were i would call that bad, they need to adjust drop rates now that the bots are gone, supply is low, and demand is increasing
how can the 2 even be compared? gw2 has no raiding system so how is a 5 man instance going to just ruine everyones day. its not like a few people are going to be left behind in a guild when everyone cannot group up in the first place
i personally think class and the toughness stat control aggro in a dungeon environment, on my guardian with stacked toughness i hold aggro from the first attack until the mobs death on every pull and boss fight, even downed doesnt seem to turn them away. Perhaps even specific abilitys draw mobs attention
Im very confused about these changes, is it so wrong to be able to dps on a guardian?
if the location of skills was changed in the first week it would have been less of a deal, but this far in your just messing with your player base. Who in there right mind would have signed off on this? any gamer could tell you its a horrible idea, please change it back asap
i have to agree, the guardian ones are out of place and just not useful. A book that lasts 20s and has long casting spells for a build i would never run no thanks. The hounds are a nice distraction but really no point to them, they’re not dealing much damage or providing a useful effect like snare stun etc
believe it or not i had a veteran guard drop an exotic rifle the other day, first exotic drop in about 330 hrs
