Am I the only one who’s worried that this Bloody Prince and Scarlet Briar will fall in love with each other?
Hell, he even looks like the Joker.
These ‘OMGWTF Anet’ posts usually leave a bad taste in my mouth and make me want to disagree immediately but in truth he has a point.
Why don’t we get blast finishers?
I hope to see a level cap increase with all current items invalidated just to see how far Anet is willing to go to ruin their game
Times like these I wish I could thumbs down posts.
Oh I see, it’s like saying “bomb” on an airplane.
+1 to you sir!
This thread is utter bullkitten
I haven’t actually gotten Dungeon Master title yet.
(b/c the last paths I need are in COF)
((does that make me some kind of hipster??))
Only if your missing path 1.
I could see the quality of pugs being worse, but I don’t think the LFG tool is entirely to blame.
People need to do 25 dungeons in order to craft an ascended weapon, which means we’re seeing people who wouldn’t normally step inside a dungeon trying to farm.
Just curious since I’m not too educated on this… what precisely is the connection between dungeons and pink weapons? Why 25 specifically?
For every dungeon you do you get 20 empyreal fragments. You need 100 empyreal fragments to make an empyreal star. 5 empyreal stars to make a vision crystal. 1 vision crystal to make an ascended weapon.
All in all it’s not so bad, it’s the dragonite ore that’s the real kitten. You’ll need a total of 500 as well and the best way to get it is through temple events. 30 a pop.
I feel like I’m one of the only people who wants the current TA explorable to be completely nuked and replaced. IMO the only thing it had going for it was the environmental design. It lacked good boss mechanics (except the 1st wurm boss to some extent), had a story which really didn’t add anything or matter (3 nightmare court leaders simply trying to take control after Faolin), and had those annoying poison flowers everywhere.
That isn’t to say there aren’t worse dungeons though (looking at you HotW and CM).
Oh god, please don’t. Aside from the end bosses I really enjoy Twilight Arbor. They just needed tweaks here and there not a start from scratch attitude. I’m really hoping that this Scarlet thing is a permanent path 4.

Standing in front of the door that opens in path 1 HotW, wondering why it isn’t opening only to realize this is path 2 and you have to go the opposite way.
Heading to the spike trap room in AC Rumblus (the room is for Ghost Eater) and wondering why it’s not activating.
I’m usually the guy who’s always asking ‘So is this the path where you…?’
Bucket O’ HP.
+1 to you sir!
Level 55 explorable mode dungeon is not supposed to be accomplished with the same ease as a level 55 open world area. Go run some Dynamic Event chains in Sparkfly if it’s too hard for you.
Nah, I think I’ll go do Arah instead. Better loot.
Thanks for the input though.
So I just beat TA F / U, it was the final dungeon I needed for the Dungeon Master title.
I did it with a completely random pug, and we accomplished it through max range attacks and timed dodge rolls to avoid the shake attack that the tree does.
And while I’m convinced that any group combination is capable of doing what we did, the final boss fight is undeniably broken. The nightmare tree is on par with phase 1 of Lupi as your looking for an animation that you’d never even notice unless someone pointed it out to you. And the price of messing up your timing is a massive amount of damage, typically enough to down a player at full health.
There is no reason for a dungeon advertised as low level to have a boss that difficult, such things should be reserved for Arah.
my 2 cents.
edit: sorry about the title, didn’t realize that the censor would do that.
Reading comprehension is a lost art.
In all fairness, if none of the bosses had Defiant, we could just spiky fruit every encounter.
Oh Bjarl.
No idea what spikey fruit means but I want to point out that I was calling for tailored immunities for each boss. What would work for one wouldn’t work for another.
I honestly don’t think it’s the classes which are the problem, the problem is the liberal use of defiance in order to prevent cc spamming that trivialize boss fights.
My personal opinion is that defiant absolutely has it’s place in open world fights where any number of players with any type of build can show up and join in. But in a setting with a 5 man composition, surely there has got to be a way to tailor each individual boss with it’s own spec of immunities and weaknesses to make every fight require a different skill set.
But with the way things stand right now, dps is king. It’s no wonder people are insisting on dps meta builds.
With Halloween just around the corner I’m certain the Dev’s are already past the planning stages of the next Mad King Celebration, but before it comes I just wanted to say a little something about what I’d like to see, and what I’m certain the rest of you would like to see as well.
Baby Quaggan Whack a mole! (with chainsaws)
Players would stand in a giant 12×12 grid and be tasked with using a chainsaw to eviscerate baby quaggans as they appear, but you’d better be quick because these baby quaggans won’t just stand around forever. You could even make it a competition with other players to see who can get the most kills.
Rewards could even include baby quaggan body parts! Collect all 6 and stitch them together to make your very own baby quaggan back pack.
So what do you guys think?
No. 1
Umm, how about better stories?
From Arena Net Developer that was laid off -
“Today marks the release of the last bit of content I built for ArenaNet. I had always hoped my last hurrah would be an epic dungeon that would stand the test of time, and provide entertainment for players to the very end… but instead it’s an instance that will only persist for two weeks, and then go away.”
Weird… my bs meter is going off.
I would rather see the info released on this official site before a fan site.
That’s very unlikely to happen simply looking at it from a business perspective.
Dulfy benefits because it get’s exclusive information before anyone else making them the go too guys for info.
Anet benefits because Dulfy promotes their game, it’s basically free marketing. Businesses partner up to promote each other all the time.
I know no one really cares about the Queen’s Gauntlet stuff anymore now that Clockwork Chaos is in full swing. But I just wanted to chime in to say after about 200 tries I beat Liadri with a Power Necro.
Ummm… just to give you a heads up, those changes came and went. We got things like dhuumfire and tainted shackles.
I like Countess Anise, always have really. She’s a rare example of someone with a distinct personality without being completely overdone. Something Anet has always had a bit of trouble with.
Rytlock, Zoja, and Logan are pretty good too.
Glad someone thought to bring this up because I’ve been noticing the change as well. Particularly in dungeons my norn will constantly say things like ‘See that? I did that!’
Or ’I’m amazing!’
I really quite like it, though I can’t quite pin point what’s triggering it.
I find this very funny because I play a powermancer build that relies heavily on siphoning and I’ve been loving every second of it.
The trick to making health reclamation work is to hit the bad guys with a multitude of attacks at once. Stack wells and start slamming away with a dagger, pop 2 on a regular basis and you’ll find that your health bar remains steady.
The only real downside is that on some of the harder dungeons you need to be extremely aggressive i.e. always attacking something. Usually if I stop to rez someone I’ll end up going down simply because I’m no longer getting health back. Another downside is that it only really works with dagger. The other weapons are simply too slow to be effective. Staff especially.
I don’t claim it’s the best build, but it’s definitely viable.
Wow, I’m amazed by how many characters some of you guys have. Granted I’m one of those people who plays hard for awhile, goes to another game for a few months then comes back to play hard again.
Currently I have a total of 6 characters.
Level 80 thief, warrior, necromancer
Level 20 Mesmer
Level 5 Elementalist, Engineer
All the celestial items are using the default crafted gear skins, just with the celestial stats. Also, you will not be able to buy any crafted celestial items on the trading post ever, unless ANet reverses course – upon crafting any of them, they are automatically Account Bound, Soulbound on Use.
So if you want items with those stats, better track down the recipe sheets and learn the related crafting disciplines, and then get ready to wait FOREVER to get enough charged crystals (1 per day with 5 needed per item = so much waiting!), because that’s your only option right now.
On a slightly off topic note, I really hope this sort of thing becomes the model for how Ascended weapons and armor are introduced into the game. Crafters need a way to create the highest end gear.
I don’t mind that he does a crap ton of damage. I don’t care that he heals himself for twice as much as you do. I don’t even care that he can belch every other turn and that his belches not only cancel out your heals but tack on even more damage.
But seriously, the signature move spam has got to stop.
I don’t know whether to congratulate you for catching that, or ridicule you mercilessly for knowing that movie so well.
You sir, are a unique and special snowflake.
Star Wars Galaxies made something decent out of itself?
Huh, who would have thought
My prediction is they won’t be able to pull it off, because A. It’s not being made by Bethesda and B. they’re trying to put everything on a single shard and I don’t think the technology is there to do that.
Also because it’s probably going to be more focused on the consoles than computers, computer users might end up not enjoying it nearly as much.
A couple of facts that are probably not well known yet are that PC/Macs, and next gen consoles will not be playing together. Each of them will have their own set of servers. The console user will not get the same experience as the PC user.
Where Mega Server is going to run into a major problem is in their PvP. It will be the same 3 teams always, based on racial factions, and since people have a tendency to be biased towards humans, I expect it to be a gross mismatch.
Also, there is a good reason Bethesda isn’t developing the game. They will continue to put out single player rpgs including new Elder Scrolls games. I know a lot of people don’t like the fact that they aren’t the developer, but at the end of the day it was the best decision they could possibly make.
If ESO is to truly be a service the same way GW2 is, they need someone who can devote all their attention to it. Bethesda simply can’t.
All that being said, I’m kind of with Korrigan on this one. IF they can achieve GW2 quality minus the unicorn/rainbow silliness endemic to the game I just might switch games.
The title says it all. Who’s next? Primordus, Jormag, Kralkatorrik, or one of the two unknown dragons?
Are you even sure Zhaitan is really dead? Nobody, can confirm Zhaitan is dead since there is no body to confirm it. And even if all the NPC in the game said so, there is always the option to bring Zhaitan back from the dead. It is the Zombie Dragon btw……
Maybe there is an evil faction that is trying to ressurect Zhaitan and we, as the big heroes, will go in their lair/dungeon to stop their plans. Reminds me of Slaver Exile in GW1
I seriously doubt it.
I think this is just a part of Anet’s plan to fill in that great empty spot in center of the World Map called the sea of Sorrows. We won’t see another dragon until a real expansion.
In before the lock!
you know.. theres this groups of people that think that gw2 will get destroyed to oblivion by eso once its comes out..
The funniest thing about those sentiments is that ESO is clearly a GW2 clone.
They’re probably not the final notes however.
They aren’t the final version. The leaked version calls the new DS 5 skill Dark Binding, while the official upcoming changes page refers to it as Tainted Shackles.
The patch notes are a good indication of where they are going though, and I expect we’ll see a lot of what they’ve written there.
Looking forward to how torment works in PvE and whether or not the AI will be smart enough to stop moving.
link please?
Not posting it on here, because might get infracted for it.
Look on reddit, it’s on the GuildWars2 frontpage.
pffft
link please?
Not 100% but I think he means this:

My only real problem with ascended gear is that now I feel silly for having leveled a jeweler. I mean really, what’s the point in being able to craft your own high end gear if it’s not at the highest level?
Ditch the laurels, and for the love of God integrate the crafting professions please.
Slightly off topic, but has anyone taken the time to read the responses to that article?
It’s REALLY entertaining stuff.
Being a long time Elder Scrolls fan I’m probably going to check it out on release. But I can tell you right now I’m already seeing things I don’t like.
Racial factions are a HUGE turn off, the fact that I can’t roll a Breton and go PvE with my buddy who happened to roll a Nord, while not quite a deal breaker still bugs me.
The MegaServer technology is an ambitious and interesting idea but from past experience I expect that it’s going to have a rough launch.
Beyond that everything looks very much like GW2 in the Elder Scrolls world, ironically the biggest selling point in my book.
But, I presently have a Norn female Warrior named Var Bloodstone and a Ranger named Denaris Steelborne…unfortunately I failed to consider the similarity to well known character (at least around here) Denarys Stormborn
Now people call my Ranger “Mother of Dragons”…soooo not the intent!
I have to admit I immediately made the Denarys Stormborn connection as well, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Var is a great name for a Norn Warrior, I call that a win.
Mine is a necromancer called Thessaly Erinyes. Wanted her to have the look and feel of a witch of the wilds.
The sixth rune ability, summon ravens to attack enemies upon the activation of an elite skill does not work with Dagger Storm.
Also, when used with a different elite skill it does not summon ravens, but rather what appears to be pigeons. I realize this is probably as low priority as it gets, but seeing as there is only this ten day window to get the mats with ease it would be really nice if the effort resulted in something halloweenish.
Thank you.
Fought one of these ‘perma-stealth’ thieves in WvW earlier. It was annoying, but his damage was a joke.
Finally got him by dropping caltrops all over the place, LDB, and dagger storm.
Nothing to see here.
The title says it all. Could we please get an Elite skill that works underwater, perhaps one that is designed solely for underwater combat.
As it stands skill options feel very limited in an enviorment that already has very clunky movement.
Just chiming in to say I experienced the same bug. Haven’t tried the jump/f spam yet though.
Regardless, I submitted a bug report with screenshot hopefully Anet can fix this quickly.
