Winter JP goes against the GW2 Mani

You wish you could hate the other players around you to death, because their jumping on the exploding presents forces you to have to jump when they do, as Asura, I always clip the edge of the nearest red present, I have to wait for the blue row to make it.

You’re actually wrong on this one. If you fail the jump, you’ll always go down right at the edge of the present. What you need to do is teach yourself to jump after you think it’s not safe anymore. You might fall a few times without jumping at all, but once you get the timing right, you’ll be hitting the first present every time. It’s one of these jumps where you have to jump at the very last possible moment and not sooner.

A Very Grindy Wintersday.

Umm.. I got the “meta” achievement for Wintersday in about 5 hours of casual gameplay spread over multiple days.

I haven’t bothered with the infinite achievements because I know I won’t enjoy it one bit.

Here’s mine! The daggers are a bit off, but the gear otherwise looks a bit like a ninja..?

Anywho, what I’m wearing is:
Head: Council Watch Faceguard
Shoulders: Sneakthief Shoulderguards
Chest: Strider’s Tunic
Gloves: Seeker Gloves
Pants: Strider’s Leggings
Shoes: Strider’s Boots

Dyes that I used for this were Old Jeans and Pitch (I don’t like pure black characters, they tend to be so bland.)

This is a set I’ve used for ages. The gloves, helm and shoes change over time, but chest, legs and shoulders stay the same. The first screenshot (it’s a bad one, I know) is from 23.09.2012 and the second one is from a few weeks ago. Kinda shows how much I like the set I figured out.

Leveling is the worst it's been

I made a elementalist after the patch as I wanted to experience the new trait functions and I have to say that it really isn’t hard to level. Sure, it requires kiting and dodging, but that’s how this game works. I can’t really compare before and after the patch, but I can safely say that it really isn’t hard to level.

Down-Leveling

To OP:
I actually experienced quite the opposite of what you described. Very often I find down scaled higher level players (I’m talking 20-30 above the zone level) joining an event, killing spawned mobs within 2-3 seconds before others even reach them. It is much more difficult to even deal damage to get the exp, nevermind qualify for drops.

I would say that the down-scaling isn’t low enough.

I’d have to agree with this. I did my dailies a while back in Caledon Forest since I was quite busy and had to get them done quickly so I ran into this quite a lot. As a level 80 player in the starter area, I did kill most of the monsters very quickly. So when I knew I would destroy the event mobs in an instant, especially when it was just one normal monster, I waited for people to get their hits in so they wouldn’t be left unrewarded.
The Risen Broodmother is a good example of that, since people usually attack the undead creature first until they realize it’s the drake they need to be attacking.

Are the phone apps still being built?

No, it was pretty much cancelled.

Instead, they will one day release an API so that the community can build their own apps. They probably will release a demo for the API however, which will probably be a simple version of the “extended experience” they originally showed off.

Where’d you get this info? I’ve seen people still asking about this and never have I seen an official reply with this kind of information.

Some people like playing solo and this game has done quite well to make it fair for solo gamers as well as group players. This would quite ruin it.

There’s a solution for you: Don’t use the waypoints. Professions have ways to get swiftness for quite a while so that’s your “mount” right there. That’s what I do when I just want to wander around.

Game suggestions for 2013

1. make it so that pick axes, wood axes and other harvesting tools are a one time buy instead of a pay as you break type of deal. Reasons: since money does not drop from mobs having to constantly buy harvesting materials is a pain not to mention the fact that making it viable for everyone to use these tools regardless of profession makes it difficult to sell what ever is harvested since there is bulks of it in the AH.

2. since there is a pick axe, wood axe and plant harvest tool why cant there be a skinning tool? reasons: make leather working a little bit less of a hastle.

6. Crafting epics should but be made so impossible, and the epics should not ALL have the same stats (power, toughness, vitality) not to mention the fact that the amount of each stat is the same as an exotic. The materials to make epics should not be a game of chance either, epic crafting plans should be sold from each respective profession vendor with different stats for each piece. Materials should not be made easy to gather, but having to get world completion on top of other such nonsense to be able to craft a rare ONCE is ridiculous!!!!

7. introduce tanks and healers in order to eliminate the clusterkitten that is running dungeons.

8. introduce a LFG system, in order to lessen down time.

9. for the love of gawd mounts! because paying every time you wanna port to an area adds up. If no mounts at least keep the fee to a set amount of copper depending on distance instead of silver.

10. of the subject of money, please make it so that mobs drop it more often, even if its just a few copper/silver here and there it adds up.

11. make toughness a more viable stat. instead of having it simply mitigating a small percent of incoming damage make so that it also effects the % chance the character has to dodge or parry or block said attack. although we already have a “dodge” skill it runs out and after it does….. well, enjoy your run back. If you are not ganna give us tanks, at least give us more to defend ourselves and last longer in combat.

20. Opposite faction in the future? or more playable races would be nice.

21. SKILL POINTS SHOULD NOT BE USED AS CRAFTING MATERIAL CURRENCY!!!!!

22. character trading option would be most appreciated.

23. character inspect option would be nice.

24. some sort of ghost/spirit/spectral walking when dead would be nice. having to pay to port to a way point then having to run back and fight your way back to were you were only to die in the process is getting old.

I think you’re playing the wrong game if you want these. Most of these are what Anet specifically doesn’t want in the game since it would just make them pretty much like every other MMO out there.
Also your reasoning for toughness is just dumb. We have a dodging mechanic and there is a way to block damage, no need to dumb it down to what it is in every other MMO.

Guesting is Coming

This is a bit troublesome. When the game launched, I wanted guesting so I could play with my NA friends. When most of my EU friends quit, I switched to a NA server to play with them. Now some EU friends are coming back so I’d want guesting to play with them..
Ah well, guess I’ll just have to live with only being able to play with some of my friends.

WvW Should NOT Be A Part Of PvE World Completion

in Suggestions

Posted by: Marche.8123

Marche.8123

I have to say that I too would’ve agreed to this a few weeks ago.
What changed is that I completed the whole PvE world and went to WvWvW lacking pretty much everything there. From there on I checked our current ownings whenever I logged on and in a few days I got most of the place done. Sure some take waiting and I still am waiting for 3 POIs and 2 Vistas, but I’m certain I’ll be getting them some time soon so I’m just being patient.

And while I’ve been at it, I’ve found that WvWvW is actually rather fun. Just the other day I had the most awesome experience by keeping a tower with just a handful people in the capture zone against a zerg of enemies.
So my suggestion to everyone is: Give WvWvW a chance, it’s not as bad as you might think.

Maybe it's too late, but how about this?

I’d like if the Commander could only be a guild leader with a guild that has taken enough keeps in a given time (let’s say a week). That would mean the guild leader is required to know how to lead before even being able to become a Commander.

Shovels and such are supposed to disappear once dropped as they can be found quite often in the needed area, but if the item is crucial to your personal story, then it is probably bugged if it disappears. If it is not a bug, then yes it should be changed.

Finnish guilds?

Hey sup man, i don’t know your definition of a finished guild but we’re far from finished. All i can say is that we have 11 lvl 80’s already and some more will follow after that, we have about 75% upgrades completed in guild already. 11-14 actives daily with currrently 28 in guild. we are getting a good recruit system atm and have achieved a lot of things with having 18+ on some ppl online at one point with only 20+ ppl in guild. We’re not a finished guild but we do have a lot of potential. Invest in us and we’ll invest in you too. You won’t be disappointed.

FINNISH, as in a guild from Finland.
