There are many comments in this thread, both positive and negative, that, when on topic, remain in place. Our point here is that the OP asked a specific question, and the thread is being use to state (and in most cases restate) opinions that are off topic to the thread.

The topic — which is quite interesting — is not “Will you buy the expansion?” Look for those threads elsewhere. There are many of them and we have no issue with whatever you wish to say, if presented in a reasonable manner.

This question is something different, and the OP’s intentions should be respected, as we expect of any thread, on any topic.

Care to give us examples of you caring about the community because all I can remember of your company is the feeling of being spitted on. (F2P and the royal guard outfit, gutting core content/rewards like needing masteries for full fractals rewards, Halloween XP bugged yet just won’t fix it. etc,) I’d also disagree with your interpretation of the OP and feel you are just using that as an excuse to keep negativity of this game to a bare minimum. But you are pretty much the face of Anet’s PR team and just doing what you are payed for, so I can somewhat understand. I would also love to be able to refute any counter arguments, if it weren’t for the fact that I have to wait an hour between each post as punishment.

All we know for sure is that a great number of people signed up when HoT was announced and when it went f2p. We know this because they said they had a huge influx and that support were running behind on tickets because of it.
That means 2 huge influxes this year alone.

Retention wise? Impossible to say, although logically if the entire influx had vanished, there is every reason in this day and age we would have heard more about that or seen evident signs.

The zones are populated. Bosses old and new are packed (Ive never seen so many at Dwayna as I have recently), starter zones are bustling. That is all the evidence we can give since no statistical info is forthcoming.

I’d rather see actual numbers than to take Anet’s word, because we all know how little their word actually means.

Mmmm, now it’s time to see if it’s just NCSoft holding a tight leash or if Anet is the one to blame now.

I really don’t see that as a negative to be honest. Allows me to get my bearings and do the story and see the parts of HoT that we already knew about prior to today before pluging balls first into the RAIDZZ!

It’s not just F2P that is the issue with vets. There is also bugs that haven’t been fixed in years, dungeons never even touched, and Anet not even knowing their own playerbase and its wants to add to the list

Oh really? He wont experience living world season 1 or first xmas and hallowen events that later changed in year 2.
He wont get most of the elusive skins either or play any of the dungeons since hes locked to 15 levels.
So how again will his experience be the same?

Knowing Anet, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had made IGN “leak” this info to create more publicity and to continue the XPAC hype. The timing is perfect since the big PAX show is just in 2 days.

I was too young to play GW1, so now I should be discriminated for my age? I paid money to keep Anet afloat and this is the thanks I get from them? I’m going to also tell my family to cancel their HoT preorders until Anet does something about this.

I got that by driving down to my local Best Buy and bought GW2 gems to support Anet, and made a character on the day that Anet was giving out the titles. I think I’ve earned those titles and they meant a lot to me. Because of those titles, I was able to meet new friends.

So now I’m being punished because Anet made a bug, this isn’t going to look good for the future. Cancelling my HoT pre order unless I get some sort of compensation Anet.

I logged on earlier today and got some strange in game mail saying that some “golem” (idk if that’s some hacker slang) had stolen my titles such as “God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals” or “Ascendant” . I have poured countless 2.7k hours into this game and I fear that all my progress may be stolen from me.

What kittenes me off the most when commanding PUG’s is when I’m about to engage an enemy and most of my PUG’s get one pushed because they’re using PVE builds.
