Just a cool down change could help. The abilities aren’t strong and aren’t terrible but the lack of control and long cool down makes it practically an RNG situation. A 10s cool down could make it available enough that it would be usable.
I can’t think of any option for actual melee – you hit stuff with a hand held item besides toolkit (number 3 is a swing too) But bombs are a melee range weapon if you just want to be close range.
Do realize most weapons have utility and damage so you don’t normally have 5 attacks guardian great sword for example attack aoe attack leap symbol area pull.
It’s good you like rocket boots if you want to melee as an engineer you’re going to need that leap rocket boot kick is also nice. I’d suggest slick shoes for your other utility stun breaker and helps to catch kiters knockdown is nice too.
AR + BP alliance is roughly on par with Ehmry pugs + Ehmry PvE commanders.
AR + BP alliance is no match for the MIGHT OF EHMRY.

Saw this new AR guild out on Saturday doubleteaming us…Crit or something. Critical Failure. They died so fast. INTO THE DUMPSTER.
Every other guild and group just fairweathers so hard after we wipe them once or twice that I never get to learn their guild tag.

[WFD] is complete garbage, they were continually beat up by pugs in our BL tonight before they gave up and went home BL, where they also failed miserably. I didn’t even have to do work, our PUGS were enough to hold their guild group. I just sat there drinking a smoothie watching the PUGSvGuild battles. (Did [WFD] get a new member? They seem worse then before…)
This double team has been really enjoyable, after Ehmry took a break Saturday and Sunday (we have mothers) we’ll finish off this week like we do every week, except both servers will be tossed into the same dumpster. Sure the PTT looks a little different this week, the dumpster is filling up so fast we can’t keep on top of it, slowing us down by throwing all those bodies at lowlands!
How was that? I know it’s not the best troll but I’m really tired.

So far tonight AR has took 2 of our towers and tried for more. GOOD job AR!! I’m proud of you. It did take you over 30 minuets and 8 catapults but you finely got the SW tower. That’s why we like AR, they never give up!

The point was simple we do take eBay stuff, which is why you give us so much love. If AR went for eBay when we’re in sweet embrace then the total ppt for eBay would go down and the currently lowest rank server wouldn’t have to worry about dropping down a tier where they’ll ROFL stomp everyone for week after boring week. Who does that sound like hmmm.
Any how many folks on bp hoped AR could take first last week if we focused eBay. Some of the folks probably feel that with a slightly different strategy AR could have done it and are venting frustrations that it didn’t happen.
I believe AR can take first if they work with BP. I know they can’t take first if they work with eBay and it’ll just turn the tier into a snooze fest IMO.
The best fighting in tier 6 happened when nsp and ar mostly focused bp so we do have a reference model.
So in summary. We want good fights. A balanced tier leads to good fights. Red and blue working against green will lead too a more balanced tier.
Good times in ebbl last night. Need to setup a AR CHAR vs BP EDGE dance off ! You guys from CHAR were fun to fight and later for dancing except for that short bald char his dance moves were all off.

I agree it should be default behavior. Though I also think deployable turrets needs a revamp perhaps have it add aoe damage on deployment so it’s not just away to make your turrets difficult to target. Also it would help offset the downside of the trait – multiple actions and slow cast.
To the GF guys who were all ghostie last night you are scary enough without being ghosts! My guildie was laughing when he saw that followed immediately by cussing when you burst on him. Hope you had fun at vale.

Meh Reset night is fun, was amazing loot bag fest from BP. Wave after wave BURN and WAR just never learned, but that’s ok you guys got us a few times as well. As for AR, lol, you guys are worse than BP in the open field. If fighting BP makes me feel like a god, then fighting AR makes me feel like the creator of the dam universe it’s that easy.

Don’t worry about outnumbering, we are pretty used to that. I die often, and I don’t mind if we can have a good fight. Tho I’m pretty good to run away, had a lot of training with Zergy My team is between 2-4 players, rarely 5.
For setting up duel, I’m personally not a fan. My friends might be up to it. But I really like the open world pvp for the unexpected part. I get bored of set up fight.

We fought you for how many weeks? You have a bigger pop during the week. Weekends who nows I ran across a few but it’s mostly eBay guilds keeping us busy during est times and I was up really really late this week.
DR has said they have a 5 hour high pop window I don’t even think it’s that long their bl was dead at 10 pm est last night while we had GH ftf fighting for BP hills they finally got it by taking out the back gate while we defended the front – kudos for that I kept thinking check the other gate but the fighting was intensive enough I never did.
They probably had a presence in battlegrounds but I didn’t check as it was time for bed and I’d seen what I needed to see.
According to rumor, you have apparently acquired copious amounts of something called “Bad” or “badness.” If we may, where did you get it? Is it difficult to attain? Does one even want it? Does it have a taste or smell? Does it spoil if not refrigerated?

Sorry man on BP the only AD I noticed were the ones we ran over while fighting Sekz and Pk. We would have braked for your Zamboni, but then we would have been hit by Sekz mac truck – plus the ice is further north not outside of hills.
Fun fights in BP bl with Ebay there’s a really impressive engineer in Pk – Human think he was wearing crafted gear used every ability at some point – and in CoT – Charr used flamethrower, and gear shield from what I saw.
Also think I ran into Archer if it was your mesmer darn you can spam confusion. Couldn’t figure out how to take you out without killing myself – well solo.
Just wondering, are you talking about the time when you killed us while we were fighting SEKS? Or the time prior to that where we killed 20+ as you were falling back from a SEKS group? Either time you are talking about was after 10 of our group logged for the night and there was 9 of us left.

In the end, well fought. Was a great WvW this week. We [BP] had a lot to show seeing we came up from a lower tier, and I think that we’ve proved our point, will be the same match-up this upcoming week. Should be quite close seeing we’ve learned this and that about the other servers.
I do, however, want to know…

Sekz actually plays wvw to my knowledge not sure about echo. If they dont enjoy the WvW meta why would they switch servers. Lower tiers have open field combat if that’s all folks are looking to play.
My fears however are still that you guys are just like us in the fact that you’re stuck somewhere between T4 and T5.

My thinking is DR will either rally and balance the tier or AR will move up again balancing the tier. I expect Ehmry Bay will remain green/big dog as it’s likely you have a few folks taking a wvw break after dropping.
I don’t think it will work well. Basically you have all the conditions you need on the pistols. You then have ft for a knock back and a blind as it’s 1and 2 are better on a power build. Eg 1 is nice bleeding but 4 is the damage which is power again 3 you don’ t need because of pistol poison being long enough already. You get a heal and unreliable kr ability which is good but it’s heal over time and you are not tanky. Toolkit is good and works better in a condition build now.
You could replace ft with bombs and probably make it work.
The funny thing is AR is arrogant enough to believe they control this match and what happens to NSP. When the reality is, that it is actually BP who does. BP focusing efforts on AR today shows that in spades. Hard to pvdoor NSP’s map when BP stops focusing on our EBG and pressures AR’s BL.
Well remember that AR has held nsp bl which meant we often went there to cut the points they gained from it. Which was generally easier then attacking their bl. Over all nsp could have stayed in the tier if they wanted I.e. you are in charge of your own fate. Personally I think it’s smart to drop and see some new faces I want a change up too.
Granted I would have liked it better if it was because we moved up. Because as Kermit tells us it’s not easy being green.

The only problem I have with it is that Its not useable in the spvp meta. I mean I go down FAST with all the confusion applied to me. :/ I would really appreciate it if the flame jet itself was one attack, not every single little spark it does >.< cant do crap like that
I hope you mean retaliation it’s actually good vs confusion – 1 attack every 2 seconds vs 10 hits proccing retaliation.
Number 2 change is good number 3 not sure I see the point, but ok. Number 4 still on a way to long cool down for what it does. Number 5 have you looked at guardian weapons leap aoe blind plus damage low cool down. Number 5 should be a smoke field for 4 seconds or something or much much shorter cool down.
Though the F skill takes the cake 9 second burn on a 60 second cool down compared to so many other skills I can’t figure out why they think that’s justified
Tbh.. All they do is also run in a zerg themselves.. And they win easily by abusing culling with veil rushes.. This is the only tactic they use, over and over.. Stack in a tight ball, drop a veil, surprise the zerg from the back with a culling bomb.
I’m not saying it’s not effective.. Because it is, very, it is a great asset to have. I’ve seen them save endless amounts of towers and keeps doing it, which is great.
But to try and claim it takes any sort of skill is indeed laughable. The only skill it requires is being able to put a target on the leader and stay close to him. Once you have that “skill” on lockdown, then all you need is 30 guys and a Mesmer with Veil.
This is different from most 5 man tactics?
1 gather together – stealth optional
2 target player
3 Burst player
4 run away – stealth optional
5 wait for cool down
6 repeat
Doing it with 20 players takes a lot more coordination then 5 so they have “skills”. I know there are 5 man that run slightly different I.e. they send out tank bait then hit the squishies with their DPs but it’s really the same tactic. That’s my only real problem with the 5 man groups. A lot of them ignore the logistical problems of running a large group while touting how their maxed geared synergistic builds can kill small groups of randoms or wvw focused builds.
Plus I can’t see why you’d insult guys from your own server.
There is 1 thing people tend to forget, explosive shot, dart and even the trait incendiary powder are all single target, so in big fights or boss fights, you’re DPS with pistol will be greatly under anyone else in your team
I insist on thread because i would like to be able to dual sigils as well as take advantage of shield and still be useful to my team, pistols might not seem as underpowered on sPvP but for WvW/PvE they are lacking alot
You need to take coated bullets if you want to main pistol, which makes the first two aoe. Incendiary is a dueling trait it’s still good for boss fights. Pistol benefits from both sides when you stack might which is why HGH pistol builds work.
Based on the developer profession post I think we’ll see buffs to EG and FT before any increased to the pistol. In kit builds it’s still good for the non auto abilities.
Engi Pistol 1st attack vs Thief Pistol 1st attack:
Both are bleed focused attacks, but Thief does a little more damage while Engineer has aoe.
I concluded that they are balanced. However the “aoe for damage” makes engineers attack less desirable. In general Pistols are the weakest weapon in the game being the only single hand range weapon. Theres a reason we dont see many thief’s with focus on pistols.
In conclusion i think all pistols should receive a damage boost
Not too important but the thief bleed is twice as long so it’s condition damage for bleeds is double the engineers pistol auto attack.
NSP Pride, thanks to AR and BP both for the multitude of badges and kills! IT WAS EPIC. We held and that says alot for how our server rallied when we were being attacked on both sides. I remember BP’s defense at their keep (I think it was last week) and gave them props, I would expect the same! Fun times this week!
Kudos man too bad I couldn’t be there so I can’t give a proper highlight of what no doubt was an epic defense.

They aren’t viable if you stand in front of a warrior and use them.

You’re unlikely to be using line of sight against a great sword warrior he should be trying to stay on top of you. The issue comes down to time and actions you need 3 seconds and 4 actions to get 3 k healing which is OK if you’re not doing something or running away but you can’t be dropping a glue puddle or anything else during that time.
I wouldn’t say the kit is bad it’s good, but glossing over the downside doesn’t make sense.
Fully traited pistols with pots have good aoe – pistols pierce and explode – and give might or/and condition removal for group support plus other random buffs. It’s also good for dueling / small group play. Range is not as good as grenades but still works for siege and defense of towers and keeps.
I know everyone uses med kit i do too , but Med kit takes a lot of time to get that healing out or condition removal if you cannot prep the area. If you can prep then you get additional healing. The other two require less actions to use, which means you can be doing something else – DPs for example.
Any how…. props to the PAXA group that led the charge on the BP se tower last night. I am pretty sure we would have held off that second breakout event if you hadn’t rushed in and started taking out our back line.
Yea what he said but gs attack is very fast so you crit a lot. Extra bounce synergizes well granting extra might. Berserker applies a good amount of bleeds when traited and gives a nice control condition. Boon removal is useful as well as knock back. Plus staff has long range but is more a mid range weapon so if you want more range gs is good.
I assume this is for your swap and wouldn’t replace staff.
I think they need more gadget traits. Elixirs are good but triple traits and they are great. Gadgets have one general trait to my knowledge they could use a few more. Perhaps a gadgets always critical trait to help with damage or gadgets apply x condition.
I find it better simply because the old not see any enemies was terrible. It definitely needs work still, but they said they’re working on it. In the mean time I’d rather have this as I’d rather see the enemy some of the time in big fights rather then never.
