After searching for the error code through google I got to some random topic: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/I-can-t-buy-unlock-gates-of-maguuma-story-1/first#post4275076
It indeed says something about an internal queue.
However after checking the TP (empty) and removing mails, nothing changes.
I read that rollbacked accounts may have this bug though.
I am writing this on behalf of my friend.
Lately we decided to go back to GW2 and start over again with a friend that only just bought the game.
I told him to go to his lvl 80 and activate episode 3 of season 2: The Dragon’s Reach, Part 1, but he was unable to do so.
He said he had to buy it for 0 gems but always received a network error related to internet connection. But I don’t think that is the problem.
Normally you can just start the story without having to buy for 0 gems as long as it’s in the 2 week interval of the release.
The problem may be caused by the fact he was rollbacked after having his account compromised.
Account name: NamexxSensei.8270 /// Contacted support by now
What is the best course of action here?
In case of account restoration bug:
Contact support, they did a great job fixing it for my friend

Trying to transfer to a rank 18 server but it says 800 gems
Any reason it isn’t working?
Intro
Post due to seeing some posts about the 4v5 matches and bad play going on (afk and such).
I don’t really pvp much, but sure I got times I want to play it and when I do, I want it to give me a fun experience. Maybe the suggestion can give a bigger chance for such good times. I am hoping for this to be a viable suggestion or an inspiration for future ideas.
Suggestion
Short:
- An upvote only rating system
- Rework “dishonorable” to become a better punishment system
Long:
An upvote only rating system
- We all get to see the scoreboard after the match is over. On it would be place for a button with which we can upvote/“like” a player other than yourself. Every player in your team can be upvoted.
- You can or cannot see who upvoted you.
- No negative votes. – To counter grief.
- For dishonorable system: Each upvote removes dishonor points. As somewhat explained below.
- Perhaps link an achievement with amount upvotes received
With it the scoreboard should remain on screen for at least 10 seconds in which players have the time to vote. Continuing to battle is useless and annoying in case you want to take your time to check the scoreboard.
Dishonorable
Currently I do think it does have its use, but it’s not optimal yet either.
What I’d like to see is something that can work with the above rating system combined with the gw1 system.
- You leave a match: Get a certain amount of dishonor points (Dpoints).
- Dishonor stages.: Depending on the amount of points you were able to collect, you will fall in a certain category. According to the stage, the dishonorable status (Dstatus) will last longer.
- Dishonor points get removed over time but they will take a long time to be removed. For example: 10 Dpoints for leaving. For all 10 points to be removed it should take longer than the actual dishonorable status. Otherwise no one will get into the next stages. And to be a bit extreme: The points should only start to go away after the dishonorable status disappears.
- To give a chance at least: When the Dstatus gets removed, people should get a special buff for a limited amount of time. Playing PvP with this buff will directly remove a certain amount of Dpoints. The moment a person leaves the match with the buff, he will get normal Dpoints but no punishment. The second leave could result in dishonorable.
- Implementing the voting system: -x amount of dishonour points for each upvote. If not voted for, nothing happens.
- It may be best not showing the amount of Dpoints. Showing the punishment tier is an option.
Note: Dishonor points are something other than the dishonorable status. The points take longer to be removed compared to the status itself. This would mean that even though your punishment is over, if you are still in a danger zone with the points and leave again, you will receive an initial higher punishment again.
When the term “leave” is used. It is meant as leaving a match early.
Extra:
- After the match, people leave their games instantly here and there causing them to be removed from the scoreboard. (right?) Let them stay on the board if possible (5-10 sec). We can still vote for them that way. Otherwise a minimum 5 second stay before leaving?
- This post is merely to give some ideas which could also be used as inspiration for another suggestion.
- It doesn’t really harm people that occasionally have to leave due to some reasons. 1 leave a day is nothing.
I don’t know how many people will like/hate this, but it’s a suggestion. Be constructive and tell us all why it will or won’t work.
This stuff has room for improvement. If the idea is liked, a dev or mod may update my post.
(edited by Merujsy.6283)
This is something that has bothered me about ArenaNet / NCSoft… A patch will be released and in the next two hours, a half-dozen “new builds” with no release notes. I want to know 1) What they’re uploading to my local machine and 2) What it changes so I don’t try to “fix” their mistake only to make things worse. I am co-developer of a game “helper app” with 153,000 users world-wide. We publish release notes for every minor change we make. Oh, and, if you’re readint this, ArenaNet / NCSoft… we answer our own support requests, we don’t tell users to “post it in the forums”.
Lol, support is unrelated here. Also in most cases they tell people to contact support because that is the right way to do thing. But they do help through the forums as well.
They did give the note as well. The rest should be a standard client update which they clarified ages ago somewhere on the forums. Unimplemented changes may have found their way too but then again, only the changes that actually happen should be listed.
If people found out what may be hiding in there, they will rage or get hyped (or rarely stay neutral) Especially when the change doesn’t happen in the end.
(edited by Merujsy.6283)
Updates were always big, even if it was just a maintenance/server crash fix thing.
It’s to keep the client version up-to-date.
Capture 50 mercenary camps.
Capture says it all. Only when it is being captured and you contributed, you get credit.
(Yes, even if the enemy takes it, you can get credit by killing 1 monster or ressing)
Works fine I think.
Colored —> Grey = no progress (After this event you won’t see the grey icon for a while)
Grey --> Color = Progress
Even when you fail the event (other server caps it), you get progress as long as you contributed for your own server.
(edited by Merujsy.6283)
Same for me. Still 0/1. A friend of mine got progress though. Maybe you need to do enough dmg with a ram or something?
Got it within a minute. He suddenly did his fear thing, I was swimming out of there into the unknown because of it and got it. Otherwise dodge right after a stomp (wave)
Same problem. I completed the meta this morning, logged off to go out.
And now I’m back all ready for teq, it isn’t there anymore.
Progress stops at 31/33. Ran infantile mode a few times to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
But seeing as people suddenly get 2/33 after doing normal mode, I guess that’s where the points are at.
Not sure what happened here, but I guess the checkpoints were put in the wrong mode?

I request that everyone tries not to use envy and elitism in this matter because it only shows your own envy.
envy that you can press ‘f’ and use a portal?
yes im so envious… ¬¬… its not like… i could take that portal too… no… that would be crazy
Messed that up, the first envy, it should be ego.
As for the reason I said it. Thye kept blabbering about me being elitist and that it is only ego that puts me to making this topic.
There is no reason to call someone elitist right away. But they obviously immediatly think everyone is pro and better when they create topics that ask for things to actually take some effort instead of none. They call those people elitist because they feel inferior in that regard —> envy.
As for the rest. I only want things to actually have some form of challenge. And it can be given in none required things like JP’s.
Rewards don’t change. Only the way people get rewards will be corrected. Jumping puzzles were made to be jumped and whatnot, but not to be skipped.
I only smell people who lose their effortless daily and free items. Greed. Greed everywhere.
Psycho has already agreed that to date mesmers and portals have made no impact on the game. I have pointed out why mesmers and portals in jps will not have an impact on the game in the future. How does greed play into this at all? Greed is a personal vice and for greed to make a play you would have to convince a mesmer that it is in their best interests to run the jump puzzle in order for them to port you to the end. The mesmer would therefore be altruistic would he not? He is doing something for nothing in order to assist someone else.
Once again how many mesmers are going to want to devote 20 minutes to run one JP and sit and port people up for nothing? And if they do and they port 4 or 5 people up what impact will that have on you?
You only ask questions and only have 1 possible acceptable answer for yourself.
People can pay other to do their work. I guess this can be fine, but great that you get everything in that case, great that you get everything by just throwing money at it.
And currently it doesn’t impact. Great that you get that. And also great that you get that this is something for the future.
And best thing of all is that you didn’t read everything. Skins are valuable because they are rare. And guess what, some skins required achievements that involved JP’s.
Personally I would like this nice suggestion on reddit (link in first post) even more. Sent back to the beginning of a puzzle after reward is taken. No alt parking. And actual effort in order to progress.
Everything is said, I keep repeating and it gets skipped. And you keep asking the same question and it is answered. That things belly will explode.
Play your own way and mind your own business. Your success is not contingent on the failure or success of others. It is an MMO DESIGNED for cooperative play. If you don’t desire to cooperate to help others, then don’t, but don’t try to impose your style of play on others. By the way, do you rez other players?
Cooperation doesn’t happen with portalling in JP’s. One does the job and the other gets a reward.
And yes, I ress other people. And it doesn’t have anything to do with it.
I only smell people who lose their effortless daily and free items. Greed. Greed everywhere.
Are you seriously suggesting that by playing the game as intended, I’m letting Anet kitten slap me into submission? I elect to play this game, and if I elect to play it, then I should expect to actually PLAY IT.
I suggest to leave them blabbering because they don’t gave much constructive argument.
Always negative and don’t even try to change the suggestion. Even though there is an optional LESS REWARD one.
Don’t get too angry about it. They ask you the same thing back because they can’t answer it because you are right.
Too much text
They are trying to make dungeons for example, less skipable. As seen in patch notes.
WvW puzzles, pve puzzles with monsters or whatever hostile creatures (did you really do them all?)
No one will be equal, Well said, Clap clap, but sadly you can make equal chances for everyone.
It doesn’t really bother me, but seeing as you are aware of people complaining all the time, I don’t see how it’ll be different now.
I said I didn’t care about the argument and still you used it and asked me? Read it all without instant putting down what is said.
Yes, practise will improve people. Most achievements have a low value, but points give info about someones experience/knowledge, if he did it all himself in the first place.
If things get boring because you can’t do them, that is too bad. No one forces you to do it. No challenges doesn’t make a game at all. (that’s why we suddenly see the gauntlet and it was epic)
Living story things like the tentacle sclerite thing and all those things. You needed to complete certain JP’s to obtain these. But many people have them and it lost its value.
Jumping can be used anywhere and is used in many things.
Completionist is a new one. I am one myself. And I am only one because I like achieving. Oh wait portals don’t make you achieve a thing.
When roaming solo it does give an advantage to have better armor. That extra health may keep you alive, that extra damage may kill him slightly faster saving your own life.
Economy, great prices will drop. But having a precursor would also lose its value. It would be like: Look another one with a precursor. Too easy to obtain and he probably didn’t do much of an effort.
And I so love Psycho Robot’s replies. Hits so hard and is correct.
And as for the quoted one. I checked some other topics. Only negative replies with easy to use arguments that don’t hold any value.
The mats are moot, noone is going to have a mesmer porting people up at JPs all the time, this is most likely for specific times only. Thus they usually get one stab at the chest for the mats and that not something to be worried about (if they want to repeat it when the JP isnt “popular” anymore theyd have to jump it).
Heck the T7 mats is actually forcing these people to jump to get the reward
The issue is that you actually get an achievement for not doing anything which cheapens the achievement in itself. However since there is nothing related to these achievement points (like a title) it doesnt really matter…
Actually there is a title for achievement points. But anyway, I like your reply.
They aren’t forced to jump though, because these things are available elsewhere (for more effort).
I like how it is only the same guys that complain about this and keep going on and on while the counter has been given. And when there is no hope they go full extremist and talk about removing the whole class.
Sadly. No one told me to play berzerker ever. It is a personal choice and you can do the same content with also doing some effort without being berzerker (there are people who accept you too)
No, mesmers don’t camp on Puzzles. But when anything of value is in there, there better be one or people won’t be able to show of their special skins they “earned” which is a sad thing about a game that is all about skill and skins/looks.
Like I said in my post. They could better make a daily mail system that sends in every reward from every chest because effort isn’t given anyway.
People let others play for them to fulfil their greed and get the reward. Exactly a healthy community.
MF never increased chance for better loot in chests. Also, you mean time to annoy these so called elitists of yours. Healthy community lol.

I request that everyone tries not to use envy and elitism in this matter because it only shows your own envy.
I am not making any personal attacks. We all have that little demon called ego sitting on our shoulders and he manifests himself every time you start comparing yourself or your accomplishments to those of other people and then he urges you to look for ways to diminish or lessen their accomplishments in order to boost yours. It is human nature. The trick is to know when he starts speaking to you and to recognize what it is he is up to. Since the problem you have with jump puzzles and portals is a comparison between doing the jump puzzle with a portal and doing it without it and thereby which way is better it feeds that little guy on your shoulder. Do not let him get too fat or he will just take over your life.
This is the funniest thing I have ever read. I think the wise old man tries to save his own ego and wants to be right and keeps on going about ego. In your case he might already be a glutton because you just can’t drop this. Ego doesn’t have any role in this topic unless it is about achievement points or skins/looks.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Elitism and ego play no role in this, do not bring these things up because they aren’t constructive at all and are only used to personally attack those who have a different opinion. I only bring it up to counter what is said.
I will list a few more reasons and update my first post:
- ANet created content. Is it made to be skipped? I think not. – At least the main onbjective of certain content should be played.
- Hey wait? Do I see “Jumping” in Jumping Puzzles? I certainly don’t see portal jumping.
- Everyone would be equal. Everyone has speed boosts (perm or not). No complaints.
- Effort is rewarding. Doing nothing gives nothing.
I may need to post more as they pop in my head.
Now people want an answer to why it affects others. Easy and part of it has been said before.
- T7 mats. Highly valuable materials at no effort ever?
- They are ascended I think? (or ascended mats drop from these chests). They are used to craft better gear. And no I don’t care about the “you are afraid we will get better than you arguments”
- Fractals. There is one with a “JP”. Nice if no one can jump and there is no mesmer around. Although it is of the same difficulty as most puzzles in the game.
- Achievements. An achievement is something to feel proud about. But can you, if you only used a portal?
- Many complaints about how boring puzzles are. They are mostly non-grounded complaints. People don’t try anymore. They start using portals and call JP’s boring. In the end, they tried a puzzle they couldn’t finish and said "kitten , This sucks, I want the achievement because I want points to show? Oh ego fits here! And they never tried another one because they assumed they’d fail anyway.
- GW2 is about looks/skins and skills. Get that out of the game by doing this and you get a game without progression but ego points.
- Jumping is a skill. It is part of GW2. It is beneficial to everyone to improve in. And you will be able to enjoy the content if you want to.
- JP’s aren’t forced upon everyone. If it is for free rewards as it currently is, then that is a bit wrong and just greedy. But then people say it is a useless reward. Then what is it? Extra AP which makes you look good (because people like using ego in these things)
And if it isn’t that either? Well nothing is left but a reason to explore or you just stay away because you don’t like it and don’t need it.
And when things will really get bad in the future.
- WvW: People get ascended gear without effort and have a big advantage and this is something I can see people complain for.
- Easier precursors give easy money. The economy may be hit.
Also, if you compare it to dungeons and other things. You do actually do an effort to get through a dungeon. CoF P1 requires 5 players. This results in everyone doing effort.
If someone likes to let everyone do the job for him, you can kick him.
In the end all that I saw from this and the other topic (links in first post) is that there are greedy people who want to leech and justify it as teamworking (where only 1 guy does all the work), want free rewards.
And to finish it of with this lovable ego. You help players complete a puzzle.
Did any of you think why. You see someone struggle and you want to help him. Very kind but the underlying feeling is that you just pity the guy for being worse than you. Any improvement or thing he might have discovered trying may be lost.
I do expect people to go crazy over this and whine about it but keep it on topic and constructive.
Give alternatives to make puzzles better. Or to make the suggestion better.
And do note, I’m only talking about Jumping Puzzles. Guild puzzles, dungeons and those special explorable areas are not necessarily included.
…..Its without a doubt all about ego
The only thing you really get out of this is the felling that you can do something which others with a bad computer cant.
In the end, it means that Arena Net might not put another JP in the living story events, Guilds wont be able to help new players or thoese with bad computers, and in general, we wont be able to get toese places. I dont use portals on every JP, srsly only thoese which i lag massivly in…….like that in EB.We will lose more than winning, in the end. You will forfill your ego, but in the end, its not worth it!
Please, Don’t make it “All ego” because you say it is. I never said I was pro, You can actually do any of these with the min spec PC (my laptop doesn’t even meet that and I do not see that much trouble compared to a faster PC)
You can still guide people through puzzles. “Helping” others for an achievement or chest with a portal is playing the game for them. The only part you play is pressing F. Guide people the normal way by actually jumping with them.
But what you are saying is “I deserve the reward more because I did not use a portal” or “I deserve a better reward because I did not use a portal”. Jumping puzzle rewards and achievements are not group based. They are individual rewards. Your reward does not lessen mine nor vice versa. It is not the same as the great debate over using magic find in a dungeon. Most people that I know in my age group will do the jump puzzle not for the chest reward, which is usually junk, but to complete the achievement for that jump puzzle,
So you ask about balance and fairness. How fair is it to put in jump puzzles that any 17 year old can do with absolute ease while someone that is my age or older, with slower reflexes has more difficulty with? My older sister for example will have her son do some of the more difficult puzzles for her because he can do it easier then she can. Is it fair that jump puzzles should reward the younger players more then the older ones just because of age and ability? Where then is the fairness?
Your decision to do jump puzzles without portals is completely your decison. The results of that decision is what you have to live with. If I choose to use a portal that is my decision and I have to live with the outcome of my decision, not yours. If my “achievement” is lessened by my using a portal it does not affect you. The only thing that can possibly affect you with my using a portal or even someone else porting to the end is that you are comparing your decision against mine and calling yours the “better” way to do it. That is why I stated that ego plays a big part in this as ego is all based on comparing yourself to others.
They want to complete the achievement. But it actually is not an achievement because they never did it themselves. (insta port up, 1 sec)
The reward is still irrelevant but they will contain T7 materials which are obtainable from other sources too. But for those who can and want to, this may be a way to get these materials. And it would be a bit stupid to have everyone get all the items for 0 effort.
As long as a puzzle is not timed. You almost need no reflex. Or maybe just the basic reflex for playing pve. Apart from mad kings tower (or whatever) and the x-mas one, you could take your time with the puzzle. (maybe with some other exceptions)
The rewards are the same whatever your age is. It’s about being able to complete them or not that gives the actual reward anyway.
It is quite sad that everything has to be someones ego, while this is just a suggestion.
I even gave good/ok reasons to why it is a plausible suggestion.
And the 1 thing you come up with is ego. Which is not a factor that will make this suggestion pass or fail.
I even give a reason which is not selfish. JP’s for practise. People will learn to time their jumps better, People will learn more about the mechanics involved with jumping. Pve, Pvp and WvW uses jumping. Living story dungeons and bosses use jumping mechanics (shockwaves). This is something to improve people and to make people actually get their worth from doing this. And all this by actually playing the game themselves and getting better at it.
And only then people get the right to complain about boring puzzles (which is seen often) and these are only optional.
I hope this post makes you think this through. I have work tomorrow so I have to get some sleep now.
Only post decent arguments. And respond to counters in a decent way. Don’t make it personal.
Useless post that claims I said something which I never did.
Throughout your whole thread that is exactly what you are implying.
Answer this question for me. How does my using a portal in a jump puzzle to avoid going back all the way to the start if I miss a jump affect you?
Give me a detailed and logical answer on how it affects your gameplay and I may perhaps see your point of view.
Reason why people will be against it and seek these easy to use arguments is because they don’t want their free ticket to the reward gone.
As for yourself using your own portal. It does indeed not affect me at all. But you use it for yourself and deserve the reward. Easy answer and this didn’t have to do with other people easy portalling up without effort. With your method, it means they didn’t reach the end yet.
Then again, why do mesmers need so much of an advantage in JP’s? How is that fair compared to other professions? Do we not need balance or does your ego say, Lol I don’t want this because I can use my own portal as a fail safe anyway.
This is why you shouldn’t link it to someones skill or ego. None of it may be true but you accuse the person of being like that anyway.
Suggestions are to be discussed So as long as no one starts flaming everything is still alright.
And ego doesn’t have to do anything with it. Even I wasn’t that good at this. But I kept trying and practised and got better.
It has everything to do with ego. “Look I can do this jump puzzle without a portal so I am better then you”…. That is nothing more then ego talking.
As I stated, it is not an exploit or a hack so it should not bother you how someone else decides to play the game. It is not your business.
Useless post that claims I said something which I never did.
As people pointed out, how does someone being able to portal affect your play in any way? I don’t have a problem with them because of my PC setup and screen size (well, besides the problem that tall Norns have as a rule) One of my guildmates has a really tough time because of having to play on a very old MacBook, so we help them out.
Unless what you’re saying is anybody with problematic hardware should just buy a new machine, and I’d think really hard about what that says if you do.
So if he has a bad pc and can’t do JP’s, how can he do the more intensive things in the game as in regular pve?
Portalling gives free rewards for something they didn’t do. And how is it fun to get at the end and just get what you want with no effort. Mail the item right away the moment you enter the puzzle. It is more fun to achieve it on your own.
People complain that JP’s are boring. I do wonder what % uses portals.
And ego doesn’t have to do anything with it. Even I wasn’t that good at this. But I kept trying and practised and got better.
In this case the game is played for you and you only grab the reward.
I wonder why people won’t keep trying for these things. Jumping is an important aspect in this game. And this will be the thing you will never improve at if you rely on others only.
There will obviously be other ways to daily obtain these materials. So no big deal if the easiest way suddenly becomes a bit harder.
As for these badges of honor. They are a WvW reward, Yes. And those that you gained outside them came from achievement points. Guess what, WvW has achievements. Slayer, weapon master and so on also count. Therefor that argument was invalid.
And still, why get rewarded for doing no effort. They could easily just mail you an item everyday. Saves you the trouble of actually going to a puzzle area.
And even though it isn’t that relevant for others, it is a bit sad that doing an effort only rewards as much for doing nothing but what is said in my black text in the first post.
I do help others in puzzles, And I actually try to guide them. And eventually they succeed.
If this suggestion gets through, no problem, it’s only a game, I’ll park some alts on the LA jp’s and that’s as far as it goes. I’ll still need guidance of a friendly person tho XD
Actually it doesn’t matter much since I don’t like jp’s since I’m so bad at them, so I don’t really bother with them either, it’s just a waste of time, so honestly, if they change this or not, doesn’t make a difference.
Have fun all.
Ps: Merujsy: Want to help me park my alts? :p
Oh wait, almost forgot, Anet please make this happen, but also implement baby rainbows from super adventure box for me and the other jp pro’s, everyone’s happy XD
Yes, of course I will help. It’s fun to help people actually get to the very end.
Point is, only effort should be rewarded. Whatever method used.
Ps: Lol, complaining about lag in JP while you don’t have problems in wvw and dungeons :/
There are people are are unable to do these things for a variety of reasons. There are other people who have the means and disposition to let people through. It’s just a crummy chest and an achievement. In what way does this discourse hurt or in any way effect you?
I know some people have difficulties in these things because of certain reasons. Although it is still possible for them to actually complete them, with or without the extra help of others (without portal).
Also, for now these chests are sill useless. But they will contain T7 mats. Which may lead to crafting ascended armor and precursors.
Intro
Hi everyone,
This will be a suggestion that will get a lot of hate because people can’t do one of the most fundamental things in this game, Jumping. I am not saying that some of these aren’t hard.
This is a sad thing. And what makes it even more sad is that people rely on mesmers and thus skip content to get the reward in a matter of seconds.
I don’t like the mesmer portal being a lot more superior compared to any kind of teleport (shadowstepping and such) because they allow other people to reach locations unreachable by any other means (walking, a few jumps, other teleports) BUT this is another issue.
Actual suggestion:
- Portal free zones in jumping puzzle areas.
- Or anything that lowers the reward for using this method. (Debuff for example – Any chest rewards less for x amount of time after using portal)
Reasoning:
- Achievements. Great that people achieve things without doing the slightest effort. Oh ye wait, they type in chat asking for mesmers. If you can’t do it you shouldn’t be rewarded.
- Future T7 stuff or better rewards in general. It’s nice we will get these from JP’s and stuff but at the moment you could actually just drop a daily chest for free on the same spot because there won’t be any effort given by those that use a mesmers portal. Alt parking is fine (because you had to get there first anyway)
- Even though it will be frustrating to some people, almost every JP is actually permanent. You can try it out whenever you want. Use them to practice jumping because jumping is an important aspect of the game!
- It takes away the feeling of achievement.
- People do complain about portallers :p because they try to do it legit.
- Portallers do somehow ruin the fun in completing puzzles for certain people.
The future rewards should be the most important reason for portal free zones
Other suggestions I saw at reddit and somewhere:
- Remove any skills when you enter such a puzzle ( sadly we have hostiles in some JP’s)
- Remove utilities
I do expect a lot of hate and disapproval. Even friends of mine don’t like the fact they need to be able to jump. It will take an effort and that will make those lazy people here rage But try to keep things civilized.
Update:
(edited by Merujsy.6283)
Nowadays most people go dps only. And you can’t blame them. Pure damage is more reliable. Conditions just get 50% duration or whatever on bosses.
The bleeding condition is actually the most important source of condition damage IMO.
But because of stack limits this became less useful in pve.
PvP is fine. It can still be dangerous.
Why is it not that good in pve? That is because there is a big loss of damage when it is capped at 25.
Most solutions I have seen, suggested to increase the cap. Sure possible.
I however do not think this is actually necessary. The 25 cap can be used for something else.
———————————————-
The suggestion itself is creating a new condition. Something that works with bleed. The 25 cap can be used for this.
When the cap of 25 is reached, that target gets a new condition and the 25 bleed stacks are removed.
The new condition can stack up to 10 or whatever. Or it should give immunity to bleed but have serious damage or effects.
A suggestion for the name? Infection, Seeping wound, Blood shortage? :p
Possible effects:
- X dmg /second. 25 stacks of bleed disappear so the damage or effect must be worth it.
- Self damaging (somewhat like confusion)
- Random condition each x seconds?
- Double poison damage and/or effect (heal potency -50% perhaps)
- Uncleansable? might be OP?
- 10-20% less attack speed
- Deep wound (gw1)
Yes, I am talking about keg brawl and other future activities.
Currently, I do enjoy playing keg brawl and I am very much waiting for bar brawl to be released. Yet, something that makes it less enjoyable is that there aren’t enough people doing these activities nor that these games will keep people playing them for a long time.
People mostly join for the daily. Other than that, we have those 2v2 matches most of the time.
And there is no real reward apart from a title to keep playing it.
As for the suggestion:
- Why not give these activities small rewards. Even if it is only some karma. Or some copper.
- Or how about a new currency. For activities only. Or we could go with tokens again
- Some rank based system like in PvP. And like in WvW having that rank name in front of your name. (because activities are a form of PvP)
On what to base the rewards: And yes these are for keg brawl.
- Amount of goals your team made.
- Win or loss
- Amount of goals you made. But it should give as much as assisting (We don’t want people going solo unwilling to pass)
- Assists (the rest seems pretty farmable)
- Have a minimum score to receive a reward. (countering afkers – doing nothing won’t earn you win/goal points)
- Top scores
What to buy with possible new currency/tokens
- Keg brawl armor skin
- Keg hat (with or without straws)
- Supporter gloves
- Those lesser rewards like obsidian shards, skill points and so on.
Achievements
They are fine, but in the long run we will probably have more activities.
So how about a title for playing X amount of games no matter which activity it is.
Maybe a split:
- Amount of games played (no title)
- Amount of games won (title: Minigames specialist or whatever :p)
- Daily/monthly activity achievements
The arena itself
- Now we just play in plain ice field. No problem with that.
- Obstacles/other map
- 1v1v1
- Like with the snowball battles. Put some potions somewhere in the map (in case with obstacles)
————— Anti knock-down (for 2-3 seconds) – can be slapped/fumbled
————— Anti fumble (for 2-3 seconds) – Can’t throw the keg.
Custom Arena
- More players? Keep a minimum.
- Non passworded. Anti achievement farm Don’t give titles away.
- Whatever option there can be.
Whatever else I might think of, I might add. If there are other good suggestions that are well received by others, then I’ll add those as well.

Oh ic. Thanks for pointing that out.
I haven’t really been playing mesmer lately, especially since I reached lvl 80. I wasn’t aware of this change. I’ll change the post so it just gets looked over.
But ye, I know its effects prior to that update and never checked out any changes for it. My mistake.
This should still be completable. On my world (aurora glade), we got the same thing going on, yet we could activate the skill point and just kill the sharks.
Try running around finding the right shark to talk to. You might have to talk to the ground or actually go inside the cave underwater and talk to the ceiling there.
But yea, should be fixed, and might be with the coming update.
Not a bug and nothing wrong with it. Look over this post please.
Just logged into my mesmer and when running around in Lion’s arch I thought someone was doing the JP’s like I was and giving the swiftness boon. Seems no one was following me and that I actually got these random boons distributed by this signet.
Edit: Wasn’t aware of the passive boost working outside of combat now.

Are we going to have a chance to get the minipets from the Wintersday Mystery Boxes again next year or will there be new ones that will replace them?
I wouldn’t mind new minipets but it sure would be nice if we had another chance receiving the current ones.
Didn’t find a topic about this yet but if there happens to be one, please post the link
I’ve still got the pumpkin carving to do ..im about 100/150 so far. And am 3/4 on its a mad kings world. Which should complete when we enter the mad kings lair on act 3 or 4.
Clocktower was easy after you do it once or twice. Getting to that point takes some practice but theres nothign worng with. Was a good idea to not make it a requirment though ..otherwise i would see it getting nerfed so every whinner could get the achievment.
I do think the last part for a mad kings world will be for ACT III. Else there won’t be enough time for people to complete it. Because people will be at work or doing whatever and not be able to make it, causing more flooding of complaints.
And luckily for some the tower doesn’t count to get the title. It would be sad to see such a masterpiece be redesigned because people just can’t faceroll complete it.
My favorite puzzle up till now. Practice it and you will succeed eventually. “It’s always feels great being the last one to fail” a friend of mine said after practicing and failing for 2+h. (He made it)
I guess this makes the listed achievements that are required correct.
Because I have seen many posts on this forum (and others), whether they are complaints or questions about this title/achievement, I have decided to post this piece of information.
For this achievement you only need the following other event achievements:
- Halloween Huntin’
- Halloween events completed
- It’s a Mad King’s World
- Attend the Party
- Trick or Treat bags opened.
Those you don’t need are:
- Pumpkin Carving (It already gives a title on its own.)
- Mad King’s Clock Tower
I may be wrong but correct me if I’m wrong.
Many people seem to have complained about the tower being too hard and that that’s the reason they won’t be able to obtain this achievement. At least this isn’t required. I think it was before ACT II started.
For other worries like the one-time event. I do not believe it will be required for “Attend the Party”
Happy Halloween everyone. Enjoy it.
