I don’t understand the Problem:
IF you have superior numbers no one can defend a Tower.
1. Place down a Treb and a Catapult, treb down all sieges in the tower
2. Play PVD and be happy.
Since you will have more then 4 people in your zerg that have skilled catapult-mastery you can block the counter treb while not every siege in the tower can be shielded.
Be creative and no defense has any chance against an attacking zerg. Besides the obvious use of eles and nekros to put down AC’s.

WvW Live by the server Communitys not by the Guilds.
Nothing against WvW Guilds, I’m in one too, but WvW Guilds are mostly the leechers in WvW.
The backbone is the Community and Publics and you wont have this without Server/alliance-System.
And one word to the alliance System, as EOTM proofed a dynamic system still wont even out the numbers on the map, so won’t a dynamic big alliance System. The only outcome of a static alliance System will be more queues and nobody wants that.

Read this many people point out why this will kill WvW.
In a Nutshell:
Without Server, no communication → EOTM2.0 with nonstop karmatrain.
And btw. the EOTM System doesn’t even work, the playernumbers on the maps in EOTM are still mostly uneven. I got the outnumbered buff more often in EOTM then in WvW.

I think the word “server pride” is very missleading.
You will always have a team and compete against others, so we will always have some pride for ouer Team, whether they are Worlds or Servers. This said the problem with a coloured based system is not the server Pride, it is the community/COMMUNICATION that result out of this.
Why communication is one of the key elements of WvW was written down multiple Times in this thread, just to summerize:
EotM: No Communication – Karmatrain 24/7
WvW: Communication – a more strategic Gameplay (Upgrading etc.)
If you want to mitigate the shift of ppl between teams, the teams have to be big, which will result in an alliance of people who can’t communicate with each other because of the language differences or non static overflow systems. You cant make Teams on speech basis, because they would have different primetimes and nightcapping would be even worse then it is now.
My personal Solution:
1. We need Seasons like we had before that have a duration 2Month or longer (I prefer longer).
2. Before the season starts Worlds (same language!) with many WvW-Active Players will be putt together with worlds that have few WVW-active players. The shift in WvW Population would be slightly better and with Season durations 2 Month+ and no language barriers communication could be established.
By putting 2-3 Worlds together you should be able to balance out Teams. But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT use world Population as an indicaror use the acrive WvW-Playerbase as reference.
I am well aware that this is a very “hacky” solution and we will still have shifts in WvW-Population, but it might help, without destroing WvW and make it Karmatrain2.0 .

The problem with alliances etc. is, that they have to be static to build up a Community. But whenever you have a static system the ppl will always join the winning Team, you got the same problem then before.
As much as I like to see a system that balance out players it has to be dynamic and so wont create a Community.
The balance has to come from the players themselves not through a dynamic system. Like the above mentioned possibility of “Underdog-Rewards”.

Coloured Teams like Eotm in WvW
In a nutshell this is a very bad Idea, because it will kill all server communitys in an instance.
One of the big archievements of WvW was the server-communitys it created. The more or less organized public zergs is what keeps WvW alive and enables everybody to join WvW and NOT be alone like in sPvP and this nearly whenever you want, this is nothing a Guild can archieve.
In NA this might be possible to build up very fluid systems for organizing groups and zergs, but what about the EU, the language differences will make this impossible.
All tactics and long time projects like upgrading a keep/tower will be lost due to the Karmatrain we will get instead, because there is not enough communication for more.
The only winner of this are Hardcore-WvW Guilds that have even more Karmatrains to farm.
You want “balanced” matches with karmatrains and no tactics besides 1,1,1,1,1,1 join EOTM, but don’t make WvW a second EotM, one is already enough.

A heavy decrease in the matchup time will have a similar effect. It will also create more Karmatrain and less real combat.
I don’t see why someone would DDOS a WvW-Server. All players independent from which homeserver they are, are playing at the same machine. (in the same matchup) So if you DDOS the WvW-Server you will also hit “your allies” along the way.
DDOS a TS is something different, but DDOS Anet from a player makes no sense to me.

Then if it IS FIFO, why not display the ACTUAL number instead of an approximation ? It’s actually easier and takes less computer processing power to show up the real number than calculate an approximation…wth ?
If you build a static queue it would be eaysier to show the real position. But If you have a dynamic queue it is not. Normaly you don’t use static systems for a highly dynamic process like a queue.
for example:
Static: You have an Array with 4 Entrys (player waiting)
1. A
2. B
3. C
4. D
Player A joins, now the programm has to write every Entry to his new static position makes 3 Operations, which increase with the numbers of players in Queue.
Dynamic:
You have a Pointerlist where each pointer shows the next Person in the row.
A->B
B->C
C->D
The Programm only needs to know which player is first in the row and get the Information of Player B when Player A enters the game. Only 1 Operation has to be done no matter how long the queue is. However the disadvantage is to calculate the exakt number of people in the queue or their Position takes huge ammount of resources. Thats why you use approximations instead of exact calculations as counterintuitive this may seem.

Sorry for the dumb question, but did I miss a change of feedback,
wasn`t it only reflecting projectiles that were launched INSIDE the bubble?
It was a good skill in PVE bevor the nerv. All Skills that applied quickness were decreased from 100% to 50% but got doubled their duration, except Timewarp.
So in my opinion Time Warp could use a Buff, like hitting 10 Targets instead of 5.
Tell the truce if YOU have a mesmer wouldnt you at least try it.
There is a line between abusing it constant and just try it
Yust let the people have their fun. The few houers this bug is online wont be gamebreaking.

Just to talk some numbers here:
The Price was down to about 16s.
If you look at the Pricedropping an the speed and ammount of it, this indicates that several 10k Golems were sold. And this is a cautious estimate I believe we are talking several hundred thousend Golems and this would be a huge impact on WvW.
So yes I invested too in Golems when they dropped and will make a ton of Gold reselling them but anet has to delete them. Everything else would be stupid.

If my memory is right there was a response from the Team about chat-Makros which allowed them. But good luck finding it, because this was at least 1/2 year ago.

Convent I don’t know what YOU are playing but all the things you post are used in every good Zerg fight.
A good Position is one of the key elements in fighting Zergs.
Crashing the Backline of a PUG will most likely destroy it instant.
Big unorganized blobs are nothing but free Loot if you have one or two Commander who know waht they are doing.
Just recently I have raidet with a “blob” having 2 Commanders one for Melee another for Ranger. The possibilitys with those 2 Groups is amazing and you can most likely destroy every PUG in your way even if you are outnumbered.

But besides guardians there are far more skills that will destroy Omegas in no time:
Mesmer – Reaction
Mesmer – Speed Wall (if traited)
Ele – should be able to stop the rockets like they used to block trebs
Guardion – Line of Reflection
Guardion – Bubble
Asura – Deff-Golem should spawn a Bubble that protects from Rockets
To kill the Omegas I prefer using conditions. Stack Bleed etc on 1 Golem and use pestilence of a Necro to share it to all Golems. With coordinated Nekros you can simply double all conditions stacked on the Golems.
To defend a Tower against Omegas is very difficult especially if you are outnumbered. If you defend a Fort let them come to the inner Ring and shoot evry siege you have build INSIDE because most Golem rushes will go straight inside without clearing any further.
I haven’t tested this method jet but Alphas als have a big bubble that protects from projectiles they should also defend from the rockets and buy you time.

Hi there,
In order to prevent farming one or two spots Anet introduced a DiminishingReturn on Loot of an Area if you farm on it longer than 30 Minutes.
My question is, if this DR is also effecting ouer WvW loot, because it feels like Emblems dropping very good at the start, but becoming far to rare after a while.
Is it just my imagination or have you noticed something similiar.

I wonder if you can mimic Siege Projectiles from Trebs/Katas.
Swirling Winds from mage destroys them so they have to be projectiles ^^
I will try to explain, there was a Post but I don’t find it.
There are 2 Effekts that creats Culling:
1. Is the effekt you describing, that your graphics is so low it cant show all the Clients that are reportet to you at the speed they are coming in.
In this case you would at least see name tags, shadows etc. while the character is rendering.
This effekt will hardly make a difference, because most of the players have at least a System that is required for GW2 and not below and you would see name tags etc.
2. Is the Culling that you really expirience:
The Server only sends a fix ammount of players per second to your client, that it has time to render etc. So if a Raid of 30 Ppl hits you and only 5 players send to your client it will take 6 Sekonds untill you can see all enemys. In which quallity and how fast the models are renderd doen’t matter all all.
Culling is produced mainly server-side not on your Client.
So the change you suggest would not make any meaningless difference, besides Anet is already doing exakt this by using Fall-Back-Models.
The whole Point of PVE is to make Progress. In GW2 this progress are Skins.
But after maybe 2-3 Weeks you get your Gear and doesn’t even need to step into any difficult way. And what now is the question.
The concept of a Fixxed rank of Gear is great, but very good player (and im not one of them) has no chance of Getting Progress over an average Playtime and THAT is a Problem in terms of long-time-motivation in PVE.
In most of ALL Games there is Progress, a difficulty that raises constantly to reward your playtime, like fractals. You need Month or even years to see everything and get to a point you can say now I have seen everything and I got the gear i wanted too. In GW2 you get it in 2-3 Weeks, 5 If you want your Lagendary.
I’m playing WvW most of the Time and this is the first Game that I even concidered doing PVP, because I’ve never seen a Game that has such a booring PVE.

There is no Problem with difficult Dungeons, even if they are 5 ppl.
But IF I complete a very hard way, I exspect to gain something out of it, why should I go a hard way, if the reward for using the easy way is exactly the same?
Thats the big problem.
WvW is one of the biggest Gold-Sinks in this game, i doubt anyone who is really playing it will make any + out of it. @ katz.

Letting a Team of Developers testing their own stuff is wasted Time. They can use this time Fixing things instead.
Make 1/3 Test-Server and let the Playerbase test it.

1) I think this is a problem with your konfiguration, do you use autorun ? On Which key is it bound?
I never had this issue.
2) If you have a keybord that can configurate Makros, you can use this to fill in some pre selected answers. If not you can google some Software that certanly can emulate this funktion on your keybord too, but you should be Careful what you download and use, because in general Makros are vorbidden or at least not accepted.
If you want to be shure your Makro-Software does nothing it sould not do I can recommend to write your own little script with Auto-IT. You will find a ton of Guides how to use it.
Or use the Method bakunyu described by Copy your 3-4 answers to the game (copy-past) from a extern File and recall this. I would too recommend this Method!

WvW is already a gold sink for every commander and other raidleaders.
If you patch out the JPs the costs of siege weapons would explode.

If you put a EU and NA Server together in a Bracket (besides the ping issue) no ohne would have fun with it.
The EU server will cap all Maps during their prime time (becouse NA is sleeping) and then NA will get the map during the downtime of EU.
There wont be any big fights just flipping points. No one can tell me this is actually fun.

if you want to have fun underwaterfights roll a condition Mesmer they are nearly unkillable underwater and stack about 10-15 confusion on you perma. If you use timewarp you get 15-23 stacks.

I do believe that if this is going to be true, then siege prices need to be increased a little bit.
I mean as it is now, I get 5 kills and I can buy an arrow cart. (more or less)
It is a bit cheap seeing as they do so much damage.
Siege-Weapons aren’t supposed to cost much or should be rare. Why they implemented the JP’s dropping 2 Sieges (what i think is way op..) becouse they want everybody do have a decent amount of blueprints.
The limiting factor for sieges are Ressources. There are only a few spots they are generated and not even very much if you have a very active fight.
But neither would I give AC a buff, they are still very strong if you have 3-4 of them you can hold of pretty much every attack on your door (except katas/trebs).
I generaly agree with Zenith. Most of our utilities are in most situations crap. But if you have the right moment for them they can be extremly cool. But this is so unreliabel that you either have to swap your utilities evry 5 seconds or end using the most general one that wont make any difference so. But Signets and Matras are all crap the only time I use one of them is the stability mantra in Jumping Puzzle Darkroom.
I’m playing WvW so i got Feedback (love it ^^) and portal at my uslots. The third utility im mostly changing a lot mot of the time Blink or Veil.
As a conclusion about our utilitys I would say that we have some very decent and powerfull utilities but also some very crappy things that need buffing to even considered worth a uslot. (For exaple the iDefender he has so less live the effekt of his damage draining will only last 1 or maybe 2 hits. Thats weeker then 2 seconds of ptrotection so why use him…)
About Veil and MI
MI is the worst Skill we have when you want to cloak. You got Decoy to make yourself invisible over a decent Time and we got Veil to cloak as much people we want. And THEN we got MI cloaking 5-10 ppl (dunno know exactly).
So why should I even consider to use MI, for massinvisibility veil is much stronger becouse of no limitation of numbers und decoy has stunbreaker.

IF you have a WvW with 2 NA and 1 EU server (and you will have if you rank them together) the data must send from NA to EU and otherwise. It has to be because if EU-Player cast a spell a NA-Player has to respond on it.
Have a Ranking together but not competing against each other wouldn’t make any sence.
To respond on your exampel:
They have put up a Login-Server(“Mega-Server” (made me laugh btw.)) who evrybody logs in and is then put on local GAME-Servers. Anets do exactly the same btw. just not “randomly” switching ppl from one Game-Server to another. And they got the exact problem if players from US and EU are playing on one GAME server one of them will get a high ping wether the machine is located in US or EU.[/spoiler]
To merge NA and EU server is a bad Idea.
I dont know how it is on NA-Server but on EU server its horrible to play against servers who are not in your time zone (and I’m not talking about 2-3h). On this Matches the Server with the latest primetime wins. You can’t upgrade keeps, because they will be rolled over 4h later and so on.
Another exampel is the threatening of 1 big US guild (forgot their name) randomly joining one EU server and messing up every statistic by ganking all other EU servers over night. You put much effort in your Rank etc. and to see this all destroyed simply because of exploiting the time difference is crap.
So I’m a fan to of seperating NA and EU servers.

Let me choose culling settings. There is no way you can decide for me what is important in WvW. So don’t decide for me, give me the choice.
This would mean that every person without an high-end Gaming PC has no chance in WvW because he cant render as fast as the one with highend.
I dont think this is any better then it is now, it would be far worse.
Besides the fact that the culling is caused by server and not on your client.

Yeah and when we deaktivate Portal becouse of culling we should deaktivate the following things too, becouse they exploit the culling system:
All stealth abilitys!
Running into Zergs → there can only be 5 players at the same time in an area of 100 Range.
All major PVE-Events becouse they draw to much players at one point.
All Dragons becouse (see above).
Spawnpoints should be random spread through the whole map becouse there can be too much player at the same spot.
Jeah ceaktivate this all becouse of culling this is the best way to react to this bug …..
btw. there are statements from Devs, that the majority of the WvW-Dev-Team is working on this problem and made some resent progress fixxing this.

I dont understand your whining about Portal,
If you are 30 and were killed by a zerg of 40 by a portal bomb, the bigger zerg would have killed you anyway. Thats not the fault of the Portal but your unorganized “weak” Team.
It seems, that portalbombs are the “click to win”-Button, but 90% of the portal users are Guilds, Zergs with VoIP and are tactical superior to you and would have killed you anyway without hasitation.
Also leaving the Culling out, what can the Portal do? It does no DMG, ist gives no Boons or Conditions. It just saves time to go from A to B.
So the only benefit you have is to surprise your opponent and on which cost? You’re all standing on one spot with a big sign above you screaming “AOE US”.
It’s not the portal that is OP it is the superior Zerg which is organised and organisation SHOULD be rewarded in WvW.

at first i want to say i love Portal and the tactical aspects it adds to the gameplay.
A portal at the right time can change the whole situation and turn an already lost fight, you can put up a second line (flank) in an instance while you where pushed back and so on. Without Portal it would only be zerg vs. zerg head on the most aoe wins.
But I also recognice that some aspects of Portals are OP.
I dont think Portal bombs on its own are OP, but the possibility to drop the portal directly beneth the siege and destroy them even if you are heavily outnumberd in a suizide mission,
also Ports that allow raids to “bug” through closed walls and Doors. (on the other hand JPs should not been touched, because without the portals no one would even consider them as integrable part of WvW)
If I got to choose how to change the Portal, I would change 3 settings:
1. Portals can’t be used if a closed door/wall is between entrance/exit, cliffs etc. should still be allowed.
2. Portals can’t be laid down in a Range 600 arround Sieges.
3. When the Exit was laid dwon the Portal activates after 1 second for the mesmer (like now) but in addition it will take 4 more to be used by anyone else (so 5 seconds until the Zerg is portet).
I think this changes would nerf Portal to a tactical method that still can be used to Flank etc. but wont be as gamebreaking as it is now.

Portal is good as it is now.
And every class has several skills that bypass the 5-Player Rule. What about the Guardian Wall, it can hold off an entire zerg too, even reflekts ALL Projektiles from the whole zerg. In my opinion this is a whole lot more OP then Portal.

I like the Mesmer-Portal the way it is.
I think it is very refreshing and leaves much space for tactics to develop. Without it ist would be much more Zerg vs Zerg without any meaning behind it, the Team with more Ranger/Ele wins becouse of the AOE they do.
But I realy like the Ideas of Kelo to add every Class a special ability for WvW.

As i see it the morph is not a sketchy problem, but in the whole architecture of the spell system.
When you morph you get new spells and lose your old, but the Pets are bound on these spells. Try to change a spell when the pet is aktive, the pet disappears when you have lost the spell (aura whatever).
So in order to fix it you have 2 options:
Some Hacky fixxes including some horrible Ifs and a ton of possible crashes of pets that should despawn but wont do it etc.
Or you change your Architecture of the Spell-Pet-System.
And I’m shure they will do second. But if they already change the System to fix 1 Problem it is wisely to get a complete overview off the Bugs so you only have to rewrite the System once and not 10 times.
This will take at least 1 or 2 Month, reading the last Patchnotes there where mostly cosmetic changes which could be done by one Person in a weak so I would suggest the rest is working on the “big” update to the spell-system.
But who nows maybe they are just sitting in front of their desks and laugh about people like us gambling about “when” and "if"s ^^
OT:
I hope that desummon the Minions and breaking other Elite Skills like Lich is a bug, because its OP against Necros. Fixxed I think its a cool Elite and definitly not OP if you have time warp as comparison.

Siege Golem can also use the portal.
So with some swiftness buffs on the mesmer you can move the Golem much faster from gate to gate.
