Guild Wars 2

1. Something that will bring people out of FoTM and back into the open World. I want to go back to other level 80 areas and do events, but theres no there anymore. They’ve killed the world on purpose.

IF THEY CAN’T DO THAT, then I’d like:

1. Player Housing/Guild Halls (I think these were promised by ArenaNet)
2. First Person View
3. Open World PvP would be nice. Like some sort of zone thats Free for All (ONLY ON YOUR SERVER, NOT SOME STUPID WORLD VS WORLD THING)
4. More town Roleplay clothes

It has grind to a halt for me. I am wearing full Exotics, 100% World Completion. Going after a Legendary is too much of RNG nightmare for me to attempt it. I can’t stand Fractals, which sadly is the only way to progress further.

Only reason why I log in is the occasional dungeon and to chat with my mates. I spend most of my time standing around Lion’s Arch…

This. I find that MMO’s are most active during the Holidays (especially Christmas). People get time off, and theres a lot more content in game. But after a big event ends, the game slows down again. People go back to work, school and we lose the holiday content. I think you just picked a bad time to return OP.

Word of advice: buy the mats now (if you need them) while they’re still cheap. The prices are going up now.

Yeah. This event is pretty good. I like the new jumping puzzle. But the Choir event and Choir bell just takes the cake.

I find that I get presents faster from the jumping puzzle because I’ve memorized it and rarely fail. But if the Bell Choir event is your farming choice, then that works too.

Where does this drop from? Please someone tell me. I really want this item. Any information is appreciated.

Is it from World Mobs? Is it from the Dungeon? Someone please answer.

Wait wait wait. Theres a permanent bell? I know theres one you can buy but its only good for one use (consumable). Is there some sort of bell you can get that is not consumable and lasts forever? That would be awesome!

My vote is for new content. ANet needs to keep people interested and playing as someone stated above. Holiday events are nice but I wouldn’t mind another one-time event, just as long as it gives cool rewards and it not completely bugged like the Lost Shores.

Population? Dying. Not steadily, but warp speed.

People are leaving in hordes due to some “Ascended gear thing”. Quite frankly I could care less about the gear/grind issue but me and all my friends stopped playing because of the boredom. No end game, no Open World PvP. No fun. Don’t even bother coming back. I don’t mean that as an insult, but I’m just stating the truth. Theres nothing to do, and the stuff there is – has no point.

Something is very wrong. Either the masses are in FOTM or some other instances, or Anet has a bigger problem on their hands. I really can’t stand when Game companies lie about their numbers. Age of Conan had servers with less than 100 players TOTAL, still registering “Medium” population in the server list. In fact, they are still to this day stuck at medium when in reality they should read “Very low”. This kind of shenanigans needs to go away. I know the servers are not full. There is no reason to lie about it.

STOP HIDING THE TRUTH ARENANET! We know that the servers are NOT Full. You’re just trying to trick us with your false listings. To try and hide the fact that your game is slowly bleeding players. Taking a break because Im bored. I don’t see any point of doing anything at 80. I could go farm gear but for what purpose? Why? So I can’t sit in Lions Arch and try and look cool?

In most tradition MMO’s you’d have factions or some sort of open World PvP. THAT HAPPENED ON YOUR OWN SERVER. You could go out, get a group of friends, raid a camp, then start a massive PvP war right in the middle of the World. I miss that. Guild Wars 2 doesn’t offer that. And World Vs. World is not fun. So I’m not really sure what to make of this game.

Other people have quit due to other reasons, but I’m just flat out bored and have no motivation to keep playing. But I come back and play from time to time because this game is free. Meh…

A server will read “Full” or “Very high” when the servers character cap has been reached. What I mean by this is when enough people have transferred over to that server, or enough people have registered that server as there own, it will be shown as “FULL”. All those people who have chosen that server don’t even have to be logged in, but it will still show FULL.

Thats how ArenaNet tricks you. They trick fanboys and other people who do not know the system into believing that the servers are Full. To create the illusion that people are still playing and everything is okay. But in reality we are losing players, fast.

Thats why people are complaining about their server dying. Thats why people are upset about major cities turning into Ghost towns and can’t figure out why. Thats why they hide the truth, to pretend like everything is alright. But we are indeed losing active people and guilds. Sad truth

3. Game must have a purpose. What I mean by this is theres gotta be a point to gear up. Guild Wars 2 has no point. Why bother trying? To sit around in Lions Arch and try and look cool? You know I actually miss the traditional MMO double faction system. At least you could gear up, do world PvP, and pick fights on your server. This allowed you to build rivalries and fighting friends. This MMO does not have it and its boring.

4. Locked in community. The server you choose is the server your character stays on. No guesting, realm transfers are allowed but on a very long cooldown(forces you to get to know your community server) and NO stupid race/faction/character changes.

5. Open World PvP.

6. NO FLYING ALLOWED! NO FLYING MOUNTS!

That’s a very bad argument. A server may display Full or Very High but that means nothing. That just means that lots of people have registered that server as theres. They don’t necessarily need to be logged in. It just means a lot of character slots have been used up on the initial server.

I’m never in overflows on my server anymore. I think a lot of people have left the game or are in the process of quitting. Me and my friends have no motivation to play anymore. The endgame is just not there and its depressing. Why gear up? Whats the point? To sit in Lions Arch and look cool? Pretty pathetic system.

I think the issue is because most people are used to gearing up for somekind of content in other MMOs. However GW2 literally has no endgame. None. The only thing you have to do is 100 percent the map OR go for a legendary. You can grind for gear but for what? Just to look cool?

Most people were disappointed by the lack of actual content to complete at level 80.

In most traditional MMO’s there was a point in gearing up. Take for instance, WoW. I used to gear up in WoW because it was fun, lots of endgame content, and there was open World PvP. You could kill the opposite faction, start massive city wars, and build rivalries and friends from your own server. That was my motivation to get geared up. But Guild Wars 2 has none of that, and I don’t like it. Don’t mistake me, I am NOT a WoW fanboy. But I think their design was better than GW2.

I left WoW to come to GW2 due to the crappy expansions Activision put out. But Now I am just as bored. To be fair, I don’t think this game is meant for me. I am used to the traditional dual-faction MMO games. This MMO is not traditional and seems pointless to me now. Literally, I have no reason to log in game. I barely know anyone on my server, most of the Guilds are dying out (fast), no open World PvP, no fun. And World Vs. World is not fun. I want to fight people on my own server and say “Oh look that guy killed me last week! I’m gonna get him!” But in this game we fight different servers. Its not fun and its a terrible design.

ArenaNet has not choice but to keep pumping out events or they will continue to lose players.

1. Yes. I am finding myself more on the forums and less in game.

2. I started playing less when I reached max level. And almost quit after the Lost Shores event due to the disappointing outcome. But it was mainly from boredom.

3. Lack of things to do. No friends to play with. I don’t know anyone on my server. But the thing that does it the most is that theres no motivation or point to it. When I hit 80, what does that mean? What do I do? Farm gear? For what purpose? This game is lacking community World PvP. We have World Vs. World, but I don’t want to fight random people from other Worlds. I want to build rivalry’s on my own server and say “Oh look! Theres that guy who killed me last week! Lets get him!” I hate fighting strangers but we have no choice because of they way the races were laid out. There are no factions or pride to this either. So its not very fun. But I continue to come back simply because, its free. I login to chat with friends from time to time but thats about it.

If Elder Scrolls Online ( /ducks banhammer) isn’t good, I’m quitting MMO’s for life.

Title says it all. We had one for Halloween. Is ArenaNet planning a Thanksgiving event? Will there be a giant Turkey boss? Will there be pumpkin pie?

You aren’t missing anything. Trust me. Everything was bugged in the first two phases (not sure if they are still bugged because I gave up). The island is just a bunch of mindless people killing the same NPCs over and over again for no reason. The only reward you get, is a giant repair bill. There’s no communication between players and ArenaNet (everyone is confused).

Most people in game are just upset, confused and frustrated. Its not fun and its not worth your time.

On the Halloween update, and this update they said there’d be a one time event. Silly me, I thought it’d be some epic event in which you get some amazing items!.. no. It’s a cutscene. On this update the mobs are OP. Halloween’s update was amazing. Loved it. But this? No. Think more before you release this. You can’t 100% the map, you can’t walk around without getting 1 hit by some Karka.

I’m going to have to agree. Even though I will get trolled to death by the fanboys and undercover employees posing as regular players.

This event was very disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea of running around and trying to figure out where to go and what to do. But the bugs truly did ruin this event. Act one is still bugged on some servers and its a pain sitting around waiting for a fix. I’ve been waiting since yesterday to complete it. I get home from work today, and its still not fixed. And now people are telling me its impossible to finished Act one. The stupid NPC isn’t even spawning and I waited a full two hours.

I know the Dev’s are probably working hard on other things, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

Finally got it after 2 hours. There was a stupid giant Norn blocking my view but I did it.

Warning people are griefing the event with speed boosts which can mess you up.

I don’t usually come to the forums and complain, but I gotta agree with this. The Male witch set (the warlock one) looks awful. Instead they should have given males a wizard set or a wizard with a hood. Anything but the one were using right now.

Now I did buy the set, but I bought it for the broom. I do not wear the actual set itself because its so ugly. I hope they consider changing it or revamping it somehow. Because right now its a joke.

Will Guild Wars 2 have a Halloween event? I remember reading a post about Guild Wars 2 a while back stating that they were working on one. But when will it actually happen? On the other MMO’s I’ve played, they had a Halloween event and it started two weeks before October 31st (around mid October).

Will Guild Wars 2 do the same thing? Or will it only be a one day event held on October 31st? Did anyone here play the original Guild Wars 1 and remember what happened? What sort of events are there? Was it fun? When did the events start?

Any information is appreciated.

Hi I have a question about Guild Wars 1 names.

For the past few days I have been trying to take a name but I keep getting an error message saying that the name is reserved for a Guild Wars 1 character. Everytime I try to create a character I get this message:

The name you have entered is reserved for a Guild Wars character name. If you think this name should have been reserved for you, please make sure your Guild Wars 2 account is linked to your original Guild Wars account and try again.

But the funny thing is, whenever I look for the person who has the name in the contacts search – it says there is no player using the name. I don’t understand. Is the name taken or not? I can’t take the name for my character, yet is says its reserved but no one is using it! Will all name reservations be wiped at some point so GW2 players can use them? Is there a certain date for the GW1 name reservations to be freed up? Or am I doomed to never have the name I want for my character? Can someone explain?

I don’t know if this thread belongs in this section but I had a question about Roleplay. I heard the unofficial roleplay server on GW2 is Tarnished Coast but I was wondering if that server actually has a lot of roleplayers. As of right now, I am playing on the Darkhaven server but wish to transfer over to Tarnished Coast because I miss the friendliness and social aspects of a Roleplay community. However I have no idea what the players are like on that server.

Can someone from Tarnished Coast enlighten me? Are there many people in Lions Arch and surrounding Cities doing roleplay, RP events or random chat? Or is it like every other server where everyone just does PvP/PvE? Any information is appreciated.
