Does the Perm hair kit still drop from the BL chest? How do we know when it’s possible for it to drop?

As someone who loves to change char hairs every 2-3 weeks, having something like that would help me so much :/ Currently I longingly look at my characters with different hairstyles only on the change screen, then have to cancel out

I simply don’t understand why a legendary item does not have an epic quest series acquisition, in a game that touts itself as anti-farm and focused on fantastic quests, events and happenings.

Instead, it’s “gather enough gold to buy it”. Yeah. Very epic and legendary.

Precursors still rising in cost with no end in sight. I’m playing gw2 less and less as are many others in my guild but I’d be back full time if they fixed this pathetic loot system. Precursors are an unobtainable goal for me sadly and it’s soured my experience with this game.

The only person who can do anything about that is you.

Legendaries were created to be a long term goal, sure you can get lucky at any time (I got a Dusk a year ago from an event I ran through a hundred times) but once you finish the Legendary you’ll realize it’s just a fancy skin and doesn’t magically make the game better or more enjoyable. Quite the opposite, without a goal to focus on you’ll most likely be more disappointed than you are now.

Someone who’s been lucky telling a perma unlucky player that it’s beneficial to my enjoyment that I haven’t been lucky… My head exploded just a little.

I am SO tired of people also telling me that “just keep trying, you’ll get lucky”.
I am tired of trying and feeling like I can’t keep up with my circle of friends I play with. I’m tired of everyone pinging an ascended box drop here, an exotic drop there, and yes, several times, a precursor drop ping (keep in mind, this happens not just in huge events with hundreds of people, I’m talking about a few friends in part chat doing WvW, or a fractal, etc), and I am the one who has never pinged anything saying “OMG look! I got lucky!”

Yes, I am tired of it, and the loot system makes me take month long breaks from GW2; it’s sad that I feel like I have to recharge feeling good and lucky in other games, then come back to GW2 and get it shot down again.

I love GW2, I really do, but I honestly don’t know anymore how many times I’ll come back.

Why should we try to pay a pathetic and always increasing price for a precursor to other people, just because they got lucky and I didn’t (not a single prec drop for me in about 3000 hours of playing and huge amounts of mobs killed)?

Most prec increased in price a 100% since the last patch. Nobody can keep up with that kind of exploitation.

Something legendary like that should not be purchaseable on the TP, or it should have a way to get it other than ridiculous RNG chances or TP.

Good thing I’m playing Diablo 3 instead of GW2 right now. At least I feel like I get good loot, money and drops there. Diablo 3 feels more like the visual/pretty outfit/etc game right now than GW2, and that’s pretty sad considering D3’s three-quarter-up angle look.

There were a lot of theories going around from beng DPS based, to a bad RNG seed that favored certain accounts, to ANet giving luck preference to those who spend money in the gem store (Really, would you put it past them?). ANet closed the thread without any real explanation of why some people are so much more lucky than others. Again, far beyond that of what RNG should do. I’ve known people who stopped running dungeons and partying or just stopped playing because when party members ALWAYS got better loot it was just too disheartening. Even RNG, when properly implemented has a very predicable pattern and will create a bell curve when plotted. When you have someone who has 7 or 8 precursors with little or no effort compared to many others, the RNG is not working properly.

I know I have spent several hundred dollars for gems to support Anet, been playing since betas, and no precursors.

I absolutely 100% feel that my account is somehow part of a bad RNG code.

I have a friend I farm with. We have about the same percentage of magic find. She gets better loot than I, consistently. By the end of a farming run, I would have 40 porous bones and 10 heavy bags. She would have 18-20 heavy bags and 25 porous bones (or so). And this repeats every time. So far, it hasn’t evened out with me having more luck at any point.

It’s very disheartening, I feel like I don’t get anything cool and shiny by playing the game.

I have started playing Diablo 3 a few days ago, and my god, I feel so good when items drop for me and not a whole bunch of absolutely useless kitten .

Where do you get these “plenty of tomes”? In all my playtime, I had gotten/found all of 5 tomes, and 3 of those came from exchanging glory points for them.

I just got into a huge spat with some people in Arah.

Why?

Because I waited an hour and a half for the High Priest wanting to take back the gates. Then 2 people show up and defends the place. High Priest never shows.

This was repeated earlier today on 2 other servers. I ran out of server guesting.

I have to wait til somehow sometime there aren’t enough people on to defend the camp and the HP can attack again, and hope I’m there to kill him?
Otherwise, no trait Until when??

This is SO ridiculously griefer friendly, it’s not even funny.

First time in a long time, I ragequit the game. Because I just wasted an HOUR AND A HALF of my life, sitting there waiting for the kitten event to pop up and I can get my trait I need.

I will not spend the gold (enough with the stupid gold sinks!!) and the skill points to unlock the trait, because I don’t have much right now. Maybe I’ll have more in a week or two. But I needed that trait 2 hours ago!!

Since I have incredibly crappy luck in-game and rarely get Exotic drops from the huge trash mobs I kill, I thought about opening a commission thread here to get a few gold so I can finally outfit my characters (altoholic!) in Exotic gear (I have been eyeing Bifrost since game launch, but so far I couldn’t even consider it).

Since we have a long weekend coming up, I will have some free time to draw!

And I thought of spending that free drawing time with drawing one commission, instead of continuing to farm fruitlessly.

I will do commissions one by one, because normally I do have a very hectic real life and I don’t want to have people waiting on a list for months on end.

Below is an example of my style, yours will be done in the same direction.

I will choose what to draw based on how I feel at the time.
What will help your case is a backstory with your character(s), as well as several screenshots and angles.

My starting price is 50 gold.

Multiple characters in a single picture will cost more.

In your private message to me, please make a gold amount offer for the work to be done. If you want multiple characters, please raise the gold accordingly.

Since I own approximately 10 gold right now, I must openly admit that I will more likely take higher offers into consideration.

Once I decide to work with you, I will start on a sketch and general layout.
Once that is done I will send it to you, and when we’re both happy with the sketch, I will ask for half of the money.
Once the picture is completely done, I will send you a small watermarked version of it, and if you like it, you pay me the second half and I will send you the full resolution.

Image sizes can be requested, but I will not go super high and micro-detailed.

I’ve been playing since beta. I have farmed incredible amounts of trash mobs, I was always in the middle of the current “biggest-mob” farm.
The circular arena thing? Yep.
Ember farm? Yep.
Orr pre-event farm? Yep
etc etc.

I have never gotten a precursor. I rarely got exotics.

I’m fine with advertisement. But I feel like I am being directed to the gem shop constantly. I bought more than my fair share of gems, to support Anet. But I am slowly getting tired of all the gem shop stuff. The near constant feel of need to buy this or that so I don’t have to feel like I’m wasting my time.

Try playing some free to play games for a while. Anet is not that bad. They don’t have ads popping up in game. They don’t have areas of the game closed off that you can’t access. They don’t have races or classes hidden behind a pay wall.

The cash shop is there, and it’s as damaging to the game as you allow it to be. The only things from the cash shop that I’d say were must haves are bank space and maybe bag slot space….oh and character slots for some people.

Most other stuff I get through playing anyway.

Do I need the armor skins in the cash shop? Or the town clothes? Or the infinite gathering tools? Nah, no one needs that.

People need to know the difference between need and want.

In paid cash in DDO to unlock the monk profession and then there was this one dungeon in the game that had this endless shuriken…and throwing star, but it always returned to you.

However, you had to buy the dungeon to get that item. It was the only way.

I spent so much money on that game, and gave up before I spent even more money.

I played TERA for a bit. I loved it. Their version of the gem shop is not even in the game, but on their website.

I know the difference between need and want, and that is why I get annoyed at the feeling of constant redirection to the gem shop. I don’t need (or want) the gathering tools, the “boosters”, the instruments (though I did buy the flute for sentimental reasons, my dad played flute) etc.

I did buy all 12 bank slots, several character slots, armor skins, weapon skins, and every single mini pack that came out (at least 5 of each set and every single “series” of minis, some multiple times to get the mystic-forgeable exclusive). I’m sure I forget some.

What I do want are the fresh new armors (which has been ONLY gem shop since the game came out! Nothing in-game obtainable with questing or such), and they are locked behind the gem shop, unless I spend an inordinate amount of time farming for gold (which is getting nerfed all the time), or, guess what, break out my credit card.

I love changing armor looks, dressing up my characters, and I have 9 alts in addition to my main. The (so far) pay-gated new armor skins have been a big letdown. And still no precursor questing/forging.

I am a casual player, who occasionally has time to go crazy for a few days and play 12 hours in a go. I don’t have time to farm much (especially now that FGS champ train got nerfed), to concentrate on gathering gold, so I can… what… convert these golds to gems and buy an armor? :/ What a feeling of achievement.

I think I’ll be going back to TERA for a bit…

I’ve bound many items in the past and then got rid of them like backs from Bazaar and I was so happy that I’ll get the skins bSame goes for soulbinded items. For past month I was I was soulbinding many items and then salvaging them beacuse it was said that we’ll get every past skin which was binded or such.

Now it looks like that only items had in lockers/on characters are in wardrobe, no past skins….

They actually never said anywhere that past items that you destroyed will be available in the wardrobe.

Same here. I got so tired of the updates every 2 weeks that not only I couldn’t keep up with eventually due to work, but then getting and feeling like I’ve been left behind.
I logged in to kill Scarlet for the same reason you did. I was so tired of her. I didn’t care about her. I barely know who the “new Destiny’s Edge 2.0” characters are.

Now, when I logged on today after the update, I realized there was not much permanent new in-game content since launch.

I miss a super expansion pack.
I wish I didn’t feel like I’m constantly being directed towards the gem shop.

I just learned TERA will be introducing a new class and huge updates about a month from now. The game is free to play as well. I think I will be checking it out.

Anet, please don’t think people won’t switch out of loyalty. I’ve been an active player for over 6 and a half years since GW1…..

So now, I am practically forced into stashing the T2 armor look, and just grind my character to 80 before putting T2 back on him.

Why?

Because I will not pay 5 trans charges every 10 levels to keep the look. That’s pathetic.

Well, this sucks

I loved hanging out with friends, chatting on TS, while doing champ farm. I made new friends too. I had a comfortable income. I thought I might finally be able to craft my first legendary.

Now, legendary seems (again) out of reach… No more relaxing running with other people that doesn’t require much concentration… I liked the champ trains. It fit my playstyle on days when I didn’t have too much time to play.

Aaaah gotcha. However this system does make sense, if not exactly convient. With the removal of the armor repair costs, they need to increase the gold sink somehow. Granted armor repair wasn’t much of a sink, but it was A sink nonetheless. But it also makes sense from a gameplay perspective. You shouldn’t be able to automagically tell what was going on in a zone that you weren’t in, and the WPs available are going to be the ones at known secure locations. It’s basically Fog of War without actually being Fog of War. It definetly going to make me feel differently about wantonly WP around the world on a whim.

They have already “balanced” the free-repair idea by drastically reducing money gained from champion boxes.

The WP costs are a HUGE money drain that is (so far) not balanced by any loot increase during gameplay.

Loot dropping is abysmal enough as it is.

Also, contesting waypoints for dungeons is as ridiculous as it always has been. It’s not by accident that people try to get around it by guesting to other servers.

If you MUST have dungeon entrances locked by events, at least make those events happen only a few times a day! As it is right now, CoF entrance gets locked in shorter time than it takes to complete a path. You want to reenter and do another path after a 10 minute break? Too bad, you have to complete this kittenty 30 minute event first. EVERY TIME.

I absolutely hate what will happen to Waypoints.

I have always very much disliked the cost of waypoints, as I use them a LOT. Now it seems I’ll be forced to sit through loading screen after loading screen if I want to travel somewhere? That’s crap.

And don’t tell me that repair being free balances that out. No, it doesn’t. I very rarely die from enemies in PvE, and I don’t play much WvW at all. Even when I do, I roll with the zerg.

On average, I use a repair service maybe once a week. I use waypoints 10-15 times a day.

If you make these stupid changes to waypoints, at least do away with the cost. If not that, then do away with paying for waypointing within the map you’re in (like traveling inside cities).

Even with the borked reward vendor of round two, I still completed the Hard Mode 9 times (to get weapon skins)!
I love jumping, I love the look, I love everything about SAB and I spent way too much time there both times around.

I really wish they brought it back sometime soon. To completely abandon it and never do it again would be very saddening, and I’d feel like I wasted money on my continue coin on a feature that will never be usable again.

I would love it. This forum hates on mounts very much, but I think they’d be really great.

Not the same as repair. But when you say that you feel the time penalty of visiting a repair NPC is enough of a “punishment” for dying, then traveling on foot everywhere (taking ~15 minutes to run across a couple of maps if you’re higher leveled than the enemies around you) is penalty for what?
For not paying the 1.5-5 silver per travel?

Maybe I just really hate WP costs, because I love traveling around to different areas with different feels. :/

I love figuring out professions, optimal play styles for what I like (I don’t much pay attention to what’s “meta” in the sense of “wanting to copy the best thing”) and how I like to play, new skills, new animations, wohooo!

Exactly. For the first time since Anet introduced dye pack/special dyes, I found myself considering buying them. EVEN THOUGH they’re still RNG and I’m not happy about that (mainly because my luck is extremely kittenty and I never got anything worthy out of RNG stuff yet).

Happy for the folks that get one but It really kinda ticks me off when people get when people get two, three, four or more, yet I’ve been playing since shortly after release and never gotten one. Exactly the same here. I’ve been playing since beta as well, and for example a guildmate of mine had several precursor drops and he now has 3 or 4 legendaries. I have never had a precursor drop, and I can probably count how many exotic drops (this doesn’t count map completion) I had since I’ve been playing. Hint: not many.

Hell, only a couple of days ago I put 4 blue quality minis into the forge, and the result was the mini I put in

My game luck is horrid, and has been since betas.

I really wanted to make Bifrost, but with this kind of luck, I gave up as well.

For me, personally, exotic gear is still something I feel like I have to spend a bunch of gold on. Because of this, Ascended armor is a series of items I don’t even think about. It presents a huge grind for me.

As for rewards… While most of the time I swear Anet put me on a list of “let’s see how far we can push someone with unluckiness before they quit the game”, I feel like drops are somewhat in balance. Even though I hate RNG.

What I miss regarding progression: My own place like Hall of Monuments was in GW1.
I LOVED tracking my progress through dungeons, minipet collection, armors, weapons, etc. I loved taking people in there and show them my progress. Arrange the statues. I LOVED IT. It showed off my time in the game.

Right now I don’t feel like I have anything to show visually. I don’t even shoot for a legendary, seeing that any time hanging out in LA I will see every other person run by me with a Twilight or Sunrise or Bifrost.

Another little sore spot for me is alts. I find it horribly tedious to level up my 5th character to 80, when all I want to do is to play with it already.

I wish we had some kind of account XP bonus, for example 50% XP bonus on characters until they hit lvl 80, if you have 1 lvl80 on your account already.
100% bonus if you have 2 lvl80s, etc.

The game is not very alt friendly at the moment, and this really holds me back from enjoying all the various aspects of different professions and races.
