I wouldn’t say there was an alliance. However from experience in last weeks matchup it seems that certain Gandaran commanders (particularly offpeak) placed an obvious focus on Far Shiverpeaks for the 3 remaining days. It allowed Abaddons to make up 40k points for FSP in little over 2 days.

I distinctly remember the Wednesday afternoon I spent 3 hours in EB. For those 3 hours the AM and Gandaran zergs never left the FSP side of EB. Both of these zergs ignored each other and never fought with each other. In fact at one point both AM and Gandaran zergs stacked up near Umber about 10m apart and proceeded to emote each other then move away. However they had no problems looking for our zerg while the other capped something.

Our night crew told us that on the last night of the matchup they were being spawn camped by both servers at the same time, and that AM were capping stuff without resistance while Gandara were solely occupied with chasing FSP everywhere they went. Make of that what you want.

I couldn’t be happier. Plenty of lootbags and a week away from Gandara after this matchup. I have been waiting for Gandara to show their true colours. They made many attempts to form alliances with other servers against Deso in season 1, so it is no surprise really.

@Immolater – it was me who called you Gandwagon. No offence to the Gandara regulars. It was a nickname made in jest. The second time I said it was in response to a poster from Gandara (prob one of your blow-ins) saying Piken and FSP basically had a l2p issue, and that we weren’t getting hammered due to the numbers/coverage issue.

As for the hacking. I don’t know how many times I can post this. We as a community do not condone or encourage hacking or cheating of any kind. We ARE aware of situation. There is a topic discussing it on our forums. However as it stands there is nothing we can do to report them as they are invisible to us (can’t see tag) and don’t even show up on minimap. There is no communication with them. It is extremely unfair to label the entire server and we sincerely hope Anet stop them and ban them.

All because of the actions of ONE person and few people he most probably paid to get them to hack the account of a good commander, not only did Aurora Glade lose that commander, but also just about EVERY good WvW and all commanders who were sick of the way ONE player was able to manipulate and treat the rest of the server … a lot of whom moved to Far Shiverpeaks,0 who it appears condone having their members running about UNDER the map with impunity to take out siege and killing off the stray player. … Charming, yes, of course Far Shiverpeaks justly “deserve” (sarcasm) to get the score they will amass, because they do not mind hackers. The last time we were against them, there were approximately 3 people under the map the entire week, ensuring no siege remained up very long. And, for some reason, ArenaNet ignored the screenshots, the repeated reports, so obviously they appear to condone this sort of bad manners, No wonder the hackers continue doing it.

Right now Aurora Glade will be lucky to make “Bronze” league whilst servers that SHOULD be in Gold League are running about defeating them. How to make people really want to take part in WvW to be soundly trashed each week … NOT.

No need to try and get the thread closed….if its the perm invisible ele and thief you are referring to, I can assure you that FSP are aware of it but cannot do anything about it as they don’t show as a greendot on mini map and are invisible to us also so we can’t report them. Nobody on the server is communicating with these guys and we don’t condone hacking or cheating…….try and keep on topic.

Maybe Grandara has more people online during off hours.
But during prime time I see blobs of 80+ people fighting 20-25 people guilds of Grandara. Because they need so much people to fight against them they can only hold 1 objective.. As soon they go for another objective a 2nd guild of Grandara takes back the first objective.

So quantity isn’t always the reason of winning. If you would be able to fight our guilds with less then 80 and split up a bit more you could get more then 1 objective during prime time.

I have met more Piken guilds fighting alone than I have Gandaran ones. Primetime FSP and Piken have been doing just fine. If only primetime counted for all then your post might be relevant, as it stands coverage counts for everything as it always has, something Gandwagon has an abundance of over every other EU Silver League server.

The race for second should be a close one, though how the future matchups are made up will have a great bearing on it.

The current Gandara is stronger than Deso were in season 1 in terms of numbers and coverage. I’m not sure how much Deso have improved since then as FSP haven’t fought Deso in a while. My guess is that Gandara are somewhere around lower T2 or higher T3 in strength and would be around 5th/6th/7th if in Gold League.

I really don’t see a problem here other than for the poor “original” Gandara crowd, having to suffer a 320+ que.

If all this crying is because your losing the match up, then please think again as to what the reason’s are for this.

I assure you even without the free transfer’s Gandara would still be kicking your kitten , in fact I would have to say you would probably be worse off pt wise.
You have to understand the negative impact of such ques, the majority of our core skill & tactical prowess comes from our “original” crowd, of which simply cannot get through the ques.

However once the achievements have gone, and ques diminish you will see more of the old Gandara and then you will really wish you would have transferred!

So is it because of the transfer’s we be eligible for gold…? No its because we are just “good enough” to get there.

Don’t punish hard working, dedicated communities like we have in Gandara!, we will grow and grow and get stronger, because we want to!!

If season 2 have started 2 weeks ago, Gandara would have finished 4th-5th.
Anything else would have been a major upset.

Beat me to it……I seem to recall the loudest whinging about Deso “tanking” into Silver and winning it last time were Gandaran posters.

@Bethryn….primetime is maybe 4 hours duration. Ofc some Gandaran guilds run separate, as do some guilds from every server because it’s their raid times. It is outside of primetime that the previous poster was alluding to I think. Gandara can have a zoneblob in every border, while it seems most of the time Piken and FSP can only manage EB and one border.

I don’t blame Gandara. I blame Anet.

On Piken Square Borderland last night, from 6 till 10, we had:

15 TUP
20 WvW
15 EP
15 DiVa

And maybe 5-10 pugs.

They were all running separately, as often happens on Gandara. Meanwhile, FSP had a full map group, and Piken had a group of 40 and a second group of 20 from SWD.

We had to explain to many of those who had transferred to our server, on TS, that this is how Gandaran guilds like to play; with lots of smaller guild groups.

Map blobbing is inevitable when it’s just pugs and when all borderlands are queued, but insulting the server (and it’s worth noting that nobody who was on Gandara before the transfers is responsible for the influx of players we got) is just silly.

Try playing on one of the other servers outside of primetime where you have zone blobs on every map. You guys have a bigger night presence than Vizu who we faced last week.

They wont do it even if they could. I doubt they care that they ruined Silver League EU with their well thought out plan on world transfers. What should have been the most competitive ladder has been turned into a cake walk for Gandwagon. They are crushing what should be their nearest rivals with ease and definitely have greater numbers and coverage than Deso had in Season 1. GJ Anet!!!

Gandwagon to take the win. If they don’t achieve max ppt atleast once in each matchup it will be a disappointing tournament for them.

FSP is the only silver league server that has Americans and they recently got 2 huge guilds from Piken.
Gandara got like 10? guilds that means 200 more players more or less.
Even if they are prime time guilds that doesn’t mean that those players won’t be active during offpeak
I think Gandara or FSP will fight for top spot and Piken and us will be 3rd or 4th.

FSP has also lost some guilds since season one. RiOT, PAIN and AV have transferred to other servers, RiOT provided a good portion of our nightcrew in season one. XxX, Punk, FIRE and VotF are no longer playing GW2 as guilds. AoA are not raiding with anywhere near the numbers they used to be able to put out.
Much can change between now and the start of the tournament. As it stands it looks to me like Gandara will win it (second in season one remember) with Piken, Gunnars and FSP fighting it out for the minor placings. It will come down to coverage again and how much of the pug population each server can draw on (pretty much the reason Deso won season one)

But if you are referring to what we have on FSP border atm then yes its a blob, AoA guild decided to do something about you emote spamming in our garri while we had outman buff and both MS and AM running riot in our border all morning with large blobs, though if it’s any consolation AM’s was bigger…..

Although the other 2 servers are quite blobby, it is no excuse for how poor in numbers and organisation FSP is this week, and we were no better last week. Seems about 80% of the force we had in week 1 must have been AP hunters. It’s pretty embarrassing that this is the best we can do. The work put into the great comeback in week 1 has been completely undone. Where is the FSP spirit?

Can’t find a duel anywhere…spent lots of time in ruins with Gandara running 5/6 man groups, nobody leaves a duel alone its pile in on sight. Yeah we didn’t have a good start. Mixture of tired commanders/players and guilds not getting into borders. So far today I have witnessed about 10 FSP seemingly perm afk in garri on home border and about 20 in EB keep. Lots of pve players still doing achievements and jp’s. Hopefully we can get our guilds in to the fight this evening and get something started. Little disappointed that only a small few guilds are running during the day.

Crazy numbers from Gandara so far today…..and half of FSP seems to be doing pve. I sorta don’t blame them. So far this matchup hasn’t lived up to expectations. Too much pressure and focus on winning the matchup and getting no satisfaction from any fights. Think I will skip this week.

I have just logged out after spending 5 mins in Gandara garri with not 1 skill working

Silver looks very interesting after the first week of matches. Deso is definitely looking the favourite. I think Gandara and AM might be a little disappointed at how far off they finished behind Deso but I think both servers will improve and run Deso closer in match 7.

AG have had a strong first week, winning their match handier than I expected. We will know more of their strength after week 2. I thought GH would be closer to AG, it seems they still have some coverage issues (great primetime). Miller’s are pretty solid in coverage but lack something.

FSP will be buoyed by a great comeback in week 1 and will be looking to carry that momentum into week 2. Week 2 will give a strong indication of where we stand. FR will be a challenge for anyone with their night team, but they definitely slackened off during day and prime time hours as week 1 wore on. UW have had to start from scratch, but have shown some promising signs. Still a long way off challenging over the course of an entire match, but took the lead at times in PPT and have grown as week 1 wore on. Still promises to be a cracker.

I asked for an explanation. You say 30mins. Like I said I was there for an hour and Bay outer was never breached, it hadn’t been breached in two hours. So if you did have a mesmer and thief in Bay, they had to have been there for a minimum of 2 hours. Your explanation contains inaccuracies but I can’t prove its wrong. Someone from FR posted that they had a perm stealth thief and mesmer inside for 30mins. But I was in bay on that border for an hour and outer hadn’t been breached in that time. Others who were there longer than me told me they hadn’t breached outer bay in 2 hours and inner in like 6 hours. We had scouts at each gate and eyes on their zerg outside bay( they were chased off). The WP went uncontested then like 40secs later bay flipped. It was T3. I find it incredible that a thief and Mesmer stayed in Bay for 2 hours undetected, then portalled in more FR again undetected. Very strange but I just about give them the benefit of the doubt.

Would love to hear from FR how they took Bay in their border just now………

@Louis Antoine – Lol so much chest beating in one post. Are you that desperate for Internet Glory? I’ll repeat what I posted earlier just for you. AoA is not a strictly roaming guild and does not GvG. We encourage as many as we can to attend the events and place no limit on how many we run.

If your not happy with that there are plenty of guilds on FSP to cater for your needs. Since when does a guild have to limit how many they send in into the field to suit the enemy?

@ Axelheim – Your entire post is a contradiction. You begin by saying your guild are hoping for some guild fights during the night time. Then you say you are aware we don’t have the night coverage to give you fights. So when faced with some resistance with the possibility of giving you a fight and making you work, you say it is wiser for you to ignore it so you can come back later and take it with no resistance. Would you make up your minds. You want a fight, or you want to PvD? iirc Cynz, your guild mate, started it with his little windup post about chilling in our T3 garri. If it wasn’t a post intended to provoke then I don’t know what is.

Just my opinion, but a guild of your size has no business in Silver League EU. If you want the fights as you claim, you would have stayed in NA or atleast moved to a Gold League server in EU. In the long run I don’t think Fort Ranik will benefit. When you guys are in a matchup with 2 of the stronger servers, they will inevitably target FR’s day and prime time to make up for what you guys do offpeak. If the work you do in offpeak gets you a win in Silver League, then I pity FR’s day/primetime crew for what will inevitable happen in Gold League. Personally I’m just looking forward to next weeks matchup, with some proper guild fights.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but from an outsiders view it is a pitty a server that got dominated hard at prime time to be able to take the lead due to nightcapping only.
Don’t blame them though, blame the mechanics of the game that allows hard fought caps to count equal to pvd.

I don’t blame them. But it’s scary to think we got a medium sized NA guild and FR can still do this, though it only started about 5.30am GMT…they were ticking at around 600+ for almost 2 hours. Interesting to see if other Silver League servers can combat this. I don’t think it will be as effective though when they come up against two competitive servers, with no disrespect to UW who are fighting hard despite their numbers.

Fort Ranik really exploiting our only weakness atm. Since about 6am GMT they have racked up about 10k points over us in just a few hours, and they are still beneffitting from us trying to play catchup and having everything turned to wood.

Was going well over on FSP BL… but then the first xploiter appears… FSP ele.. 3 times I downed him for 3 times he got str8 back up to full health and then hit me for 24k when in downed state .. seriously dang I wish I had FRAPS on… is this what we gotta put up with as well as inferior numbeoss the match-up

Can you be sure it wasn’t server lag?…lots complaining atm of lag and I have seen it happen when you cant stomp a player when he is downed.

Having just fought both Miller’s and Fort Ranik this week in an unbelievably close matchup I wouldn’t rule out either of them for a top 3 finish. Fort Ranik will have one of the best night crew’s, they have pretty good coverage in the morning and good prime time coverage where they are very good at defending what they have.
Miller’s have an excellent morning crew and a very good prime time crew, especially with the addition of Mya. Their night crew has been probably the weakest in the matchup but not by much. Don’t discount either server.

Gold:
1. SFR
2. Viz
3. Baruch Bay

Silver:
1. Desolation
2. Gandara
3. Gunnar’s Hold

Bronze
1. Ruins of Surmia
2. Drakkar Lake
3. Ring of Fire

I think both Deso and Abaddons have been underplaying their hands recently and I think both these servers with maybe Gandara are still the servers to beat. I think both Deso and Abaddon’s could be Gold League if they pushed for it. Transfer Deadline Day is tomorrow and I think we will see lots of activity and a few more transfers around the EU division before the start so who knows. Exciting!!

As it currently stands I think the winner of the silver league will come from either Desolation, Gandara or Abaddons. They are the servers with the best overall coverage. Someone from Gandara can give a better idea of Deso’s strength, but they are my tip to win it.
AG and GH won’t be too far off. Both servers have arguably the strongest prime time forces in the league, but I feel they lack the overall coverage of the other 3.
FSP are very close in strength with both GH and AG and will be competitive in every matchup. Still lacking the coverage of the 3 favourites.
MS and FR have similar all round strength to AG,GH and FSP. FR have similar playstyle to Abaddon’s, just not quite the same numbers or organisation. Miller’s possess a good all-round strength, but just seem to lack something.
Underworld may struggle, but I really hope they can improve and build as the league goes on. Some good guilds still there, hopefully they can tap into their pve population and draw some players/guilds to their server.
It will be very close and the most eagerly contested league of both EU and NA I feel. I get the impression that some servers/ guilds haven’t revealed their true strength in the build up to the start so it will certainly be interesting. Can’t wait

@Altansan we learned much from Banner’s Hold. Nice blobbing from your side by the way. You were twice our numbers and built siege on the lord room and inner wall while we had none. You got loot and we got loot. Maybe try moving in guild groups than try to roll everyone thing with one massive zerg.

A competitive matchup always brings out a “competitive” matchup thread Underworld must be feeling a little left out, though Iorlas is doing his best.

As for the matchup – I have been quite impressed with GH. Definitely stack up well with Gandara and Aurora in terms of variety of guilds and coordination. Have also been impressed with our new additions to FSP and its nice to see us working together and competing well. Bodes well for the league. Underworld with the addition of another guild or two will also be a force to be reckoned with in silver league.

As for the thread – its certainly been interesting. Although the trolling has been generally of low quality, its kept going by sheer persistence from the trolls and the attempts at having a reasonable discussion with them

If you had been in your own bl you would have seen a blob of at least equal size from your server. I don’t understand blob whine posts when your own server does it.

FSP as a server want to get to silver league so we are trying hard to get there and maintain a position there.
